        LOOKING AT LAURA SHE ONLY NODDED.      her lips pressed against laura’s with urgency.   it was soft.   gentle.    not like their usual passionate makeouts.    not filled with frustration or anger.    but longing.    kate didn’t want to be separated.    but kate had made her choice.    and    so had laura.     the older girl ran her hands through the others hair.    she didn’t want to part.     she didn’t want to leave.    one kiss turned into two.   still gentle.     still    -      loving.     this wasn’t their war and yet they were fighting it.    kate pulled out of the kiss.   resting her head on the other.   she would have to pull away.    but soon they would be separated.  fighting in a battle neither wanted to.    kate moved away.      a step away from the person she wanted to be with right now.     ❛ one last kiss.  I need to go.   we’re fighting on different sides. ❜

                                    a quiet hum follow’s laura’s words. though jess doesn’t really seem to be there. somewhat zoned out. absentminded. while she’s in pain, she doesn’t register that at all. above all, she feels numb and tired. the young woman looks like one hell of a mess and all she can think about is how she should s t o p doing this. unlike everyone she knows she doesn’t have powers. she’s not extremely rich and able to afford high tech armor. she’s not invincible or immortal. she’s just … a human. a human trying to keep up with the fast paced adventures of her hero friends. licking dry lips, she exhales heavily before speaking up.

🎀 – Gabby was speechless when Laura said those words. She never anticipated her sister to talk to her in such a manner. The young girl slowly stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Laura’s middle to hug her tight, giving her time to cut her short if she didn’t want the physical contact. “You’re so important to me too. I’m so lucky that you followed me after I came to visit you. That you didn’t give up on me.”

              A pause was drawn, longer than Chris wanted it to be at least, and he blamed it on his attempt to keep his hands free. The phone nearly slipped from beneath his cheek though, and the heavy task he set out to do when he couldn’t sleep was dropped shortly, as Chris tried to flex the cramps away from his back.  ❛  Probably because you know I’m not asleep either.  ❜  It was hardly far from true, and it didn’t take too long of a friendship to know there were some issues that kept him from a proper rest.  ❛  Did something happen?  ❜
