HI ILY okay okay.
Oberon is my favorite fucked up little (14 feet tall) guy I've made up bc she's sooooo fucked up. She has it all but also her life fucking sucks.
She uses he/they/she pronouns, and accepts any neo-pronouns, and while she prefers to present either as fully male by human standards, or at least somewhat masculine, she identifies mostly as a woman, or very strongly fem-aligned, as her feelings on her own gender heavily fluctuate. But it makes sense to her and that's all that's needed.
She was an angel, got banished from Heaven, helped literally create Hell, is the actual CEO of sex (lord and creator of Lust, succubus/incubus) and respected and feared by all who know her, but she's also this incredibly pathetic and fucked up guy.
Reverse redemption arc where she went from seducing priests every week and regularly accepting sacrifices made in her name to having a massive fear of rejection and spending several days filling out paperwork after a few cultists ACCIDENTALLY sacrificed someone to her.
She needs to drink fresh human blood or she'll feel like utter shit but doesn't know how to ask someone to just Give Her Their Blood, and doesn't want to take it without asking first. Her swagless looks and cringe fail personality have captivated me.
Like, her job was basically to seduce people but also promote the idea that love doesn't have to be pure, watered down, devoid of any physical pleasure or intimacy, make sure that Heaven saw humans having the time of their lives with her help. She's very much still not over being kicked out of Heaven for being too based and sexpilled for their liking.
But over time she begins to grow bored with her duties, until she stops fulfilling them all together and stays alone most of the time, just wallowing in self pity.
Also she literally made herself look creepy and edgy and Wrong from the point of view of an Angel to show that she's 100% done with being one, she's fine, she's over it, she's handling it well (she fucking isn't)
She's meant to be a commentary on allomormativity, the complexity of gender norms and presentation and how masculinity and femininity are very poorly defined by society at large, as well as the watered down and very strict definition of androgyny that's incredibly common in mainstream media.
Oberon feels broken, because pleasure, of any kind, is The Thing™ her entire existence has been centered around, she's re-made herself with this singular goal in mind, spent thousands of years following it without a second thought, but she's feeling herself slowly losing the interest and enjoyment, beginning to even feel alienated by the end.
