How did you get into School Zone and what got you hooked on it?

Back then in 2022/2021?? i think? I was searching for some yuri/ GL to read cus i want to read that stuff more and i rlly wants the one that r yk good and stuff

I saw school zone cover but i cant tell if its the yokoe and kei running to the together or yokoe and kei sitting tgt with bunch of other chairs and the keep out sign

Anyway i immediately got hooked cus it looks pretty nice and stuff

I read it and pretty much fall in love

Im sort of always a big fan on slice of life type of media (but im also someone who love some kind of have a depth goin on media or just serious stuff depends on my mood)

At first the school zone seems like some kind of a comedy slice of life manga EXCEPT that its yuri which is amazing cus even though ive seen yuri with slice of life before i havent seen yet the one that r like this

And school zone girls comedy is hella funny especially its amazingly like how it depict on how a teenage girls act

And one thing is im pretty sure school zone girls is made by a woman

Bcs i dont trust that much men to write such an amazing depiction of how a high school girls act ( they always fumble it or just idk it doesnt feel much like it)

And especially school zone girls isnt written to be sexualization or male centered

All of the girls in school zone genuinely have their own personality and also depht! Cus the more u read the manga the more u know about them! Its soo good i love it so much

Cus i also wish other media make a media like how school zone does it! And i wish there was more media thats more of a girls centered (girl being the mc or just more girls character with interesting personality)

Literally rn after rereading school zone for alot of times it got me lazy to start another media thats not girls centered (the girl being an mc or more girls character that feels like how girls are) because so many shows already have so much idk guys bein the mc or guys character being alot more

Difference is that tsubaki is more of TRYING to find friends to change

And hiiragi changing by unexpected event (utsugi)

And both of them still having this complicated sibling issues

(Especially tsubaki she got that attachment issues goin on and im interested in what will happen to her)

I think tsubaki and how it made her that way is already self explanatory in the manga

On top of that I rlly love her writing alot

Because at first or something she seems like those anime nice girl type of styff

Those anime girls whos always niceee especially to the mc or whatveer and usually male likers

But tsubaki is her own character

Shes anxious and stuff with people and also pessimistic with her situation(when theres seem to be no way out) ven though shes very talented with grades and sport

But she can also be optimistic when she sees the opportunity or solution to her situation

And she sees good stuff in people and she also easily influences(?) by others ( example yatsude trying to make some lie story about their club at firs shes like " ITS A LIE???" but then she started to get into it and excited "OMG NEW STORY WOW" And her with yokoe

Yokoe telling her which hand to pick and say stuff about i got expectation from u and she reactinf "wow expectation!!" And also reacting "huh!?" To her respond from picking the hand)

But yeah i rlly like tsubaki and all of the cast personality and ningiyau rlly do genuinely give so much depht in them

This yuri literally have so many characters with each of their oen personality and how so many dynamic could form from those characters and its just so refreshing to see!

(Also i loooove kaname and how shes written as i wanan get to know her more)

But anyway im pretty much rambling now but yeah i think what got me hooked is just of how funny and also fresh the characters are with their own personality (especially since theyr girls) and how ningiyau execute them and the story

I wish school zone isnt gonna be underrated anymore because this yuri deserves more recognition and loves (hopefully one day)

first, those arts are fucking GORJUS my sweettums. as someone who has lost the ability to draw, that is beautiful. i used to think of becoming a free style painter or to learn how to draw digital but somewhere along the way i just gave up and decided to simply settle on writing instead. even now, when i see art tiktok or recommendations of compilation videos on yt, i feel a bit of an ache in my chest. its just there, y’know?

second, i think you should do for it. maybe try opening up an account on a platform ur incredibly familiar with. perhaps tumblr? or even ig? or even tiktok works too! just any platform you feel safe and comfortable and know how to navigate is good.

and yeah, i can def say felt to the “it will make my mental health worse if i only get 2 likes or smt” bc same same same. i try to write good and capture the characters’ personality correctly while keeping the fic ‘alive’ only to end up with like,,,, hundreds of likes but no feedbacks or reposts or smt LMAOOO

as for a single tip i would give is to expect everything. not everyones going to like ur content and they will suddenly crash into ur inbox talking abt how they hated this fic or smt of yrs bc it was disgusting or not their thing. that has happened to me like,,,, 3 times???? i think?????? and and!!! be sure to do a bit of research beforehand, me thinks. see what kind of attention you would get when u start to post on ur page or account.

I have recently discovered your usurper!gojo au and it is the best thing I have ever read. I can’t tell you, how in love I am. It’s the most exquisite piece of fiction I’ve ever laid eyes on. I love it. I love au’s like this and gojo being the main character was the cherry on top for me.

THE PINING. THE YEARNING. THE COURTING. THE FLOWER CROWNS. THE KISSING IN THE GARDEN. YOU’RE RIGHT. I seriously enjoyed the fact that he put the mad in madly in love. You could not be more right.

The fact that he only shows his eyes in the privacy of their bedroom or when it’s just the two of them? I swooned. I want him. I want himmmmmm. This is the man I want. Honestly if this au was real, I would fit into it so well lmao.

He’s a menace with how much he loves. How hard he loves. I love how you didn’t make him tease the reader too much when he had locked her up in his room after the coup. It was just right and then he goddamn fell to his knees and you gripped me by the throat with that. You know what truly had me hook line and sinker? The fricking eye contact he held with her as he pointed his sword at his aunt. I. DIED. MY SOUL LEFT MY BODY AND CAME BACK. IT WAS AN EARTH SHATTERING MOMENT WHERE THEY BOTH KNEW THEIR LIVES WERE ABOUT TI CHANGE. Imagine seeing his pretty eyes after so many years. Do you think they fell for each just before he was supposedly assassinated or do you think it is something that started growing a little after so when he was alone and when she was grieving. I know you’ve mentioned the teasing hair pulling but if he was “assassinated” at around 17, was he a little more mature and realised he liked her or was be still being a menace and showed his love by teasing her? OMG I JUST REALISED, HE WAS STILL A MENACE WASNT HE. ALSO DID SHE KISS HIM ON THE LIPS WHEN HE HELD THE BOOK AWAY FROM HER? I love me a childhood friends/enemies(enemies only bcs he teased her so much) to lovers.

You did an amazing job at this plot line. Honestly, this au was a major throwback for me because I used to read romance books with this sort of storyline and I love this so much. Idk how to tell you how much I enjoyed reading everything you’ve put out about usurper!gojo and his queen. Also thank you. I could see myself in it. I Just mentioned this in another ask but Gojo is definitely going easy on the reader bc he rlly adores her and is So worried that he’ll lose her, so esp on that first night he’s trying v hard not to push her too far when it’s Already a tense and not ideal situation LMFAO he’s v much riding this high of actually being able to see her n (as he openly states) not deal with tracking her down after she’s fled to court her so there’s still a fair bit of teasing just bc he’s So Fucking Happy but also he wants her to be as happy as he is yk

Gojo’s eyes are in a way one of his most intimidating features! It’s implied in that initial blurb but I’ll say it outright, they’re considered a feature of royalty in the worldbuilding, something his family has passed down through generations. Great leaders r said to be born with those eyes. But he’s of the opinion that if he showed them off constantly people would get used to them and they wouldn’t have the same impact—he takes off the blindfold in front of the court when he really wants people to listen to what he has to say. Doesn’t need to do it v often, he already commands plenty of respect. Plus the whole thing the reader explains, hiding his true emotions n giving him a more effective poker face.

BUT with the reader he takes it off for a number of reasons! Firstly he doesn’t rlly care abt seeing anyone else clearly but the reader? No way is he missing out. Secondly he wants her to be able to see his emotions. Thirdly in a meta sense I just adore the idea of him taking off his metaphorical armor for her. And lastly well… he knows she thinks they’re pretty and he likes her reaction LMFAO

The kiss was on the lips LMFAO even at 14 he wasn’t fully expecting her to give him what he wanted but that’s like a running theme w the pair of them, her boundaries r actually a lot more lenient than either of them think they are 😭😭😭 in Flower Crowns he says their final kiss in that fic is her first time kissing him but that’s bc he doesn’t count that book incident! He actually feels guilty abt it, looking back he thinks he was leveraging his power as the crown prince to force her to give in and he doesn’t like that. She just disagrees, and Shortcake Crumbs is from her POV so there u go. Other than that incident they kiss only one other time in their childhood and I plan to elaborate on that in the future 👁👁

Gojo and the reader were deffo in love when they were kids tho. The thing is they were also certain that they’d never be together. The reader rlly is just too low on the social hierarchy for his parents to have allowed it. So they never officially courted or considered each other for marriage and they never explicitly confessed or anything but. It Was There pfft and esp looking back both gojo and the reader know it (from both of their POVs we see this, even from the initial blurb I wrote). When they’re younger it’s less intense but that summer when they’re both 14 kinda marks when they’re becoming teens/young adults and that puppy love is becoming deeper.

ultimately, though I haven’t mentioned it in the fics, it’s also the reason reader’s parents send her off for schooling. If u recall she’s gone when his “assassination” happens; it was starting to unfold such that gojo was going to ascend to the throne when he was younger than 20 and his dying parents’ advisors basically went “if he becomes king when he’s still young and infatuated with this nobody noble then he’s gonna make her queen we can’t let that happen” so they essentially strong armed the reader’s family into sending her away in an effort to nip it in the bud. Ofc the rest of gojo’s family then decided to off his parents and him, and failed, and all of that got thrown to the wind bc he came back stronger and more reckless than before LMFAOOOO

I touch upon this a little in Flower Crowns but before the “assassination” he’s v much this spoiled brat and actually much more susceptible to giving in to what his advisors tell him to do. Then he has to rough it for a good decade learning to fight and lead and preparing to take back the throne, and he comes back with no shits to give—he’s gonna have his kingdom and he’s gonna have his queen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop him bc he rlly is a fucking beast. And even more terrifying w the reader by his side bc she’s as capable socially/politically as he is with a sword. Real power couple shit skdnksdb

But point being there’s v much a dichotomy between his younger self and his older self—ten years is a LONG time and he’s matured a LOT. He absolutely was a menace right up until she gets sent away. He was relentless w it, and I think there were very few moments where he was sweet to her without any kind of pigtail pulling attached (yes on up until he was 17) and in fact her being around him as an adult brings some of that energy back to the surface too. She makes him feel a little like a kid again, the way he was back before it all went to shit 🥺

Why do they get up in the morning? his mom makes him get up for school otherwise what is leaving his bed when he can just pull his comp onto his lap while STAYING in his bed and game from there

How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? oh he’s very possessive. he’ll defo keep whatever he’s worried abt losing close by to start and if it’s a person- friend or s/o- he’s going to be touching them a lot more. a hand on the back, a hug at the side, running his hands through their hair casually. anything to assert that no back off ur not taking them from me. but if it continues, which it v well may, knowing him, he’s going to start getting snarky n verbally fighting the other person. basically Messy pls reassure him if u are the object of his affections and he’s getting side-eye emoji abt someone 

How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? he defo becomes resentful a bit. like he doesn’t get envious over most things- it’s mostly fear of losing the thing once he has it- but when it does he will get resentful and hole up a bit and generally just seem a little ticked

Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom?yeah he’s comfy talking abt sex. prbly a little too comfy. so basically anyone willing to engage him in the conversation topic will likely hear abt it but he’s calmed down ever since he got involved w sev

What are their thoughts on marriage?marriage is good? but far off and amorphous in his mind. for the most part he’s like there’s nothing wrong w it but it crosses his mind EXTREMELY infrequently   

What is their preferred mode of transportation? preferably in the back of a private plane, squirrel suit gliding or on a giant eagle, none of which he’s ever experienced in his life. but out of the things he has he is fond of sailing when it’s calm out bc he does get seasick a tiny bit. he likes fast cars too

Do they usually live up to their own ideals? nope. he wants to win a nobel prize, publish a meme compilation book, become a world class pianist, go to pluto- u get the idea. ya boi has many high hopes for himself which he’s not rlly meeting atm. he’s a little all over the place, so despite his many talents he isn’t quite living up to the ideal version of himself he’s seeking after and prbly never will it’ll be very hard to get him to admit this not bc he’s an edgelord or smth but it’s hard to get him to talk abt deeper things but he does sincerely want to be a good moral person which dependent on the day and his level of seriousness he may or may not be living up to in his own eyes as well as in the eyes of others. what can i say he’s kind of a hoe

Who do they most regret meeting? life…. when life’s hand touched upon his little heart and gave him the gift of herself he immediately was filled w Ragret- on a more serious note it’s prbly the armadillo from the zoo

Who are they the most glad to have met? sev? he also adores his piano teacher but good luck getting him to admit that w heartfelt sincerity 

Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke? it’s honestly whatever’s the most recent thing he observed, heard or experienced when it comes to stories. he has no shortage of words to say and his fav sort of memes and jokes are politically nihilistic ones. so those are? in a way his go to?

Could they be considered lazy? yes. he only applies himself if he’s interested and for most of school he has no qualms abt being a lil sus and casually “accidentally” getting the answers to things so yeah that’s. that could be considered lazy. however, when he does care abt smth he will absolutely dedicate himself to it. he practices piano consistently and diligently day in and day out so it honestly depends on if he cares or not

How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? v difficult. he rarely becomes guilty for longer than .4 seconds but when it does he’s srsly going to internalize that bc if he’s feeling guilty he prbly f-ed up real bad. he also won’t rlly talk abt it to anyone so it’s even more likely it’ll just get internalized 

How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive? that’s extremely dependent on who it is and what it is. if it’s sev he’ll b v supportive but sev is a VERY big exception in most cases also sev rarely gets visibly excited abt things so it’s usually a cause for celebration when he does. if josie (his bff) is excited abt smth? if he can relate he’ll be excited for her but if he can’t he’ll TRY his best but there will be some teasing involved bc that’s how he diffuses confusion. their other bff will get the same treatment but w slightly more effort bc she’s more sensitive but gosh if it’s someone he doesn’t know rlly well he’ll be rlly confused he’ll be like good for u ha?? or someone he knows casually. they’ll get teased so he tries but he also sucks at life. for such a great analyst he’s terrible at being socially delicate

What memory do they revisit the most often? he doesn’t reminisce often hes a p go go go type of guy but if he does it’s prbly abt sev. neither of them voice it often but they’re both rlly grateful for the other

How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people? see, he’s kind of oblivious he doesn’t rlly think abt these things but when something annoys him? oh it annoys him and he’s going to make no effort to hide it or ignore it. so he’s honestly rlly bad at ignoring other ppl’s flaws. he’s a bit of a b like that

How do they feel about children? no particular opinion! he’s the younger sib by quite a bit so he’s always been kind of the baby. he thinks kids are fine and he’s actually p good w them but he’d prefer to not babysit or anything like that. there are better more enjoyable things he could be doing w his time. as for having kids he almost never thinks abt that so he’s got no opinion there either. what happens happens after all

How badly do they want to reach their end goal? he doesn’t particularly have One End Goal but he has many aspirations and if he cares abt smth he will do everything in his power to reach it at least within reason. so p badly relatively speaking? 

If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so? he’s bi so if someone asked him to explain it he’d be like “it means idc what someone’s gender is when it comes to whether i want to fuck or not ;)” yes i hate him too

A) Why are you excited about this character?MEME KING but also i’m excited to try and work out the balance between apathy, drive and subtle but very much present care for the ppl around himB) What inspired you to create them?i need a best friend for the main chara of the story benke is a part of! additionally, he shares a lot of character traits w an irl friend of mine so it’s a bit of a nod to themC) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?nope! benke was created for the purpose of filling a role tho honestly he’s spun a wild story for himself somehow looking @ u sevD) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?i must admit benke does NOT have a set appearance as of the present. he’s afab nb and does nothing to present as more masculine than he naturally appears. he’s indian, 5′4″ and he’s got short hair w highlights but beyond that i’m still working out his appearance E) Are they someone you would get along with?
