there was a sort of comfort benjamin felt around @belayadeath, one he hadn’t experienced since stephanie. part of that scared him, of course — and most of the time, he didn’t acknowledge it. part of him probably felt guilty, letting himself get this way around someone else. the other part of him knows she wouldn’t want him to be sad and alone. why was it so hard?

“ do you mind if we just stay here? ” the sky was covered in dark clouds, and benjamin had sprawled himself out over his couch. he had a feeling she’d say yes, considering the pouring rain and the lightning crackling across the sky. “ sorry everything got kinda ruined. in my defense, it didn’t look like it was going to rain today. ” he holds his arm out, allowing for her to curl up next to him. and there was that feeling again. his heart soared once he felt her body against his, and then sank just as quickly. he needed to distract himself. remind himself this was okay. stephanie’s voice plays in his mind, telling him such. it’s okay, benny. benjamin turns to look at bianca, a somewhat cocky smile. “ sitting on the couch seems kinda lame compared to a star - lit picnic, doesn’t it? ” he jokes, nose scrunching. somehow, you make it better. she retorts, and that soaring feeling returns. but not the sinking feeling. thank god. “ well, i hope so. ” he says, leaning his forehead against her cheek. “ and i hope what i packed is still just as good on a couch. i kind of had a different location in mind when i put it together. ”
