i. I love everything you do, when you call me fucking dumb for the stupid shit I do.
— high-school sweethearts, melanie martinez.
You smiled as you sat down at the breakfast table, your hair in a bun and your were still in your pj's. It was your day off so you decided to take breakfast, then snuggle up to your new boyfriend's, Luke, cabin.
"Hey mender." Luke said as he sat down beside you, kissing your cheek as you smiled, you took a bite of your mac and cheese, Luke's hand wrapped around you.
"So, tell me, how's the best swordsman at camp huh?" You joked as he smiled. You both took your scraps, placing it into the fire before walking off back to the hermes cabin.
Even though most of the Campers lived in the hermes cabin, it somehow was always empty during the morning, most people going back during either lunch or at the end of the day.
So here you were, on the bed with Luke's mouth latched onto your neck.
Ever since that night, Luke was addicted to you, the way you tasted, the sweet noises that erupted your mouth whenever he touched that one spot on your skin.
"Luke. You'll make marks!" You giggled as he laughed, slowly raises his head to look at you.
"Too late baby." He winked before rasing your shirt, pressing soft kisses to your stomach as you laughed. You playfully shoved him as he smiled, looking up and laying down beside you, moving his hand so you'd lay on his chest. "Fine. You win mender."
"No way, I beat the Luke Castellan?" You teased as he rolled his eyes, placing a soft kiss to your forhead before taking out a scrap book you had made and a Polaroid.
"Cmon let's get your first win into our amazing book of memories." He snaped a picture as you giggled, he smiled at the picture as he glued it on.
Her first win!!
Luke castellan gets beat up by a woman half his size. NOT CLICKBATE. CANON EVENT!!
Baby wtf.
Luke closes the book, taking the pen and placing it on top of the book as he turned back to face you. He watched as you traced soft patterns onto his hand. "I love everything you do. You're mine, and I love that."
He pushed your hair to the side to see your giggling face. You couldn't help but smile, kissing his lips. "I'm all yours."
He grabbed your waist, pushing you down onto the mattress as you groaned. "Luke-. I have to go to work."
"And suddenly my names work." He jokes as he hugged your waist, placing soft kisses onto your neck. You giggled before wrapping your arms around the boy. "You mean the world to me. You know that right?"
"I know luke. I know." You whispered as you played with his hair. You sat in silence, playing with his hair as he closed his eyes, falling asleep on your chest. "Ten minutes."
Luke smiled at your words as he hugged you tighter. "Thirty and you got yourself a deal."
ii. just trust me, you'll be fine.
— end of beginning, djo
Chris smiled as he passed by you. It was weird being the center of attention now, everyone needed to figure out the hot gossip about Luke Castellan's new girlfriend, and to their shock, she wasn't an aphrodite girl.
Everyone knew that Hephaestus' daughters were rather, boyish, only because there were very little, being surrounded by men in a job that most people would assume a man to do was well, difficult.
Luke saw you. He saw who you were. Not what your sibling saw, not what camp saw. He saw what he wanted to see, and that was all of you.
You sat down by the docks, the same docks of that night. You two would always meet up there to catch up and spend time together, but here you were, an hour later still sitting alone on the dock.
You started to give up, standing up to walk away but you heard Luke's faint calls. You turned around to find a man you almost didn't recognise.
The once shining Luke had eyebags under his eyes that were bigger than yours. He was wearing sweatpants and a tank top, yet you could see tracs of sweat around it. He wasn't out of breath so he hadn't ran, maybe he did, what was going on?
"Luke? Heavens have you been sleeping?" You asked him as he held your hands away from his face. He gave he a small smile.
"I'm fine." He rasped. You shook your head, holding onto his cheek as you looked at him. "Don't."
"Luke." you scoffed as he shoved your arms off of him. You had a pained expression on your face, hugging yourself with your jacket as you looked at him. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose before walking towards you, placing his hands onto your shoulders.
"I'm sorry I'm just, really tired." Luke muttered before hugging you. "And I'm sorry I was late, I uh, took a nap after training and lost track of time I suppose."
You hugged back, he quickly carried you which caused you to squeal as he set you down onto the dock. He smiled as he sat down in front of you, the picnic basket empty as he chuckled. "Someone was hungry."
"And someone was late." You giggled as he dramatically rolled his eyes, he smiled before taking your hand in his, looking out to the lake, clearly thinking about something. "Are you okay Luke?"
You waited for a response but he just stared out. You were starting to get worried, what the hell was going on? "Luke?"
"hm?" He said as he turned back to you. You could feel his arms tense around you, his breath hitched as you said his name. You needed to know what was going on.
"You know you can talk to me. Right baby?" You asked the boy who kissed your cheek before turning to the soft waves.
You didn't understand why he was keeping secrets from you, were you that bad? Were you not as supporting as you thought you were?
"I know mender. I know." He whispered in your ear as you melted into his grasp. A smile on your face.
He's fine, he says he's fine so he has to be. Right?
iii. Was it my August? Shit, I don't remember
— Gone gone/thank you, Tyler the creator.
"Where is he?" You asked Chris as he sat quietly, playing with his food. You glared at him, leaning onto the table as you glared at him, your eyes glowing orange, fire swimming in them.
Luke had been ignoring you for two weeks now, you had no clue if it was because you did something wrong, and if you did, you wanted to solve it.
That was until Max, your brother, had told you that he was giving Stacy Evans, aphrodite's prettiest daughter, extra sword fighting lessons.
"Hermes cabin bathroom." Chris muttered as you hummed in approval, walking off to find Luke.
Ever since your last interaction on the beach, you haven't seen him. Some would say you were worried, and if the right person asked, you were worried.
Little did you know, that Luke wasn't running from you. He was protecting you. From himself.
He did know how, how the he'll could everything about you agitate him. He hated it, he hated how every time he heard your name, he wanted to punch someone.
He hated how whenever he saw you laughing with your brothers, he wanted to smash your head against the wall, he wanted to hurt you.
He didn't know why. Why you out of everyone. You were a Saint, you were perfect to him, perfect for him. Suddenly, without warning now he's ignoring you.
You loved Luke, and Luke loved you, but now. Even at the mention of you, he wanted to stab you with his sword and watch you bleed.
You knocked on the door, hearing shuffling as you waited for him. Your eyes widened as you heard muttering coming from the other end of the door.
You barged in, finding Luke huddled up over the sink, clearly irritated by you. You glanced at the sword on the bathroom counter.
"What the fuck is wrong with you mender! You can't just barge into the men's bathroom." He spat out as you scoffed, you locked the door, walking towards him.
"What the fuck is wrong with me? What's wrong with you?!" You spat out as he let out an agitated sigh, clutching the sinks frame as his eye twitched. You shoved him to look at you, his breathe staggering as he stared at you.
"You know you're a real shit boyfriend you know! Missing out breakfast because im there, wow I mean. Master of communi-fucking-cation right!" You laughed as you watched his reaction. His eye twitched more, his mouth agap as he panted, he was controlling himself. He was on his last straw.
He wasn't even listening to what you were saying now. He was just trying to keep his thoughts at bay, he couldn't hurt you. If je hurts you, it was over.
"You really are your father's son huh?!" You spat out, that was all it took for him to lose his sense of control. He grabbed you by the throat, shoving you into the wall as he smashed your head against the wall, before wrapping his hand around your neck again.
He lifted you up, you kicked your feet as you tried to pry him off, stopping as he shoves you against the wall again, clearly agitated by the fact that you tried to pry him off.
"What the fuck is wrong with you. Don't you ever say that again you little bitch." He Luke spat. An evil laugh escaped his lips as he leaned in to face you. "You really are a pathetic whore huh. No wonder your mom left you."
Soft cries left your lips as he tightened his grip around your throat. You started to feel nauseous as you found it harder to breathe. Clawing at his hands.
"L...Luke..." You struggled under him, even though he was two times your size, even though you had no chance against him. You watched as the darkness in his eyes was replaced by realisation.
He let go, allowing you to fall on your knees as you sobbed and panted. The air suddenly returning to your lungs. Luke hovered over you, panting as he realised who was on her knees before him.
"Y/n." He breathed out, you shook your head at the mention of your name. He sighed grabbing a rag and before wetting it and holding it out for you.
You took it, holding it against the bruises that already formed.
He did it, he hurt you and he wanted to kill himself right at that moment.
"Mender. I... I." He didn't know what to say. You kept your gaze onto the floor as you cried. Unsure of what to do, what to say, as you rubbed the bruises. "Listen, I know you want to run of to Chiron and-."
"I won't. Don't worry." Your voice cracked as you looked up at him, standing up and walking to the door. But Luke's voice stopped you.
"Why?" Luke asked you as you shrugged. You hovered over the doorknob, sighing as you opened the door, leaving Luke alone in the bathroom.
He glanced at his hands, sobbing as he fell to his knees, he hurt you. He hurt you. He did the one thing he was afraid to do. The voices in his head won, he had lost you, the only thing that mattered to him.
He was weak, he allowed him to hurt you, he allowed this to happen. You were the best thing to ever happen to him, and somehow he messed it up.
You were special, not like the aphrodite girls who only cared about looks and who hooked up with who, most people saw him as Luke Castellan, most popular guy at camp.
In your eyes, he was Luke Castellan, another mediocre privileged guy, but he was yours, and you loved him for the good and bad in him.
Don't cry my child, it'll be over soon.

Heyy could I please request a Maddy Perez x fem!reader and they are both dating, but the reader is really shy but like also the sweetest person ever and would never hurt a fly, but she also hates like drama or other people fighting/yelling, so the reader gets a but uncomfortable at the intervention when everyone is yelling and fighting. So like the reader and Maddy are both comforting each other, it would be like hurt/comfort with fluff at the end. If you don’t want to do it then no pressure at all 😭😭 (btw I’m 18+)
Intervention
Maddy Perez x Fem!Reader
Summary: You were the calm to Maddy's storm, the only person who could talk her down after finding out about Cassie and Nate.
Warnings: Lots of language, intervention shit, mentions of Nate (🤮)
Word Count: 1.2k
A/N: Look at me go, y'all! I cranked this out, and it's not half bad. Took me over a month, though. Sorry about that.

You and Maddy were complete opposites, which is why you worked so well together as a couple. She was bold and outgoing, while you were more reserved and shy. To give you some credit, you could most definitely fight for yourself if needed, but Maddy tended to fight for you first. The two of you had only been together for a few weeks, but you knew that you would last a long time.
You hated confrontation, and you avoided it as much as possible, but you would do anything to help your friends. This was how you ended up in the Howard household, preparing to stage an intervention for Rue Bennett.
You nervously watch as the girl of the hour comes around the bend, before groaning when she catches sight of the group standing at the bottom of the stairs. She sits down, practically collapsing, and bangs her head on the wall behind her while muttering, “Oh, fuck.”
Maddy slips her hand into yours, knowing that this could get messy really fast. As if it wasn’t already. You squeeze her hand gratefully, using the physical contact as a grounding method. You watch as Rue’s mom begins to talk to her daughter.
“This can’t make you feel good, Rue. Living like this, lying to the people you love, being mean to the people you love,” At this, you glance over at Lexi, trying to shoot her comforting look. “This can’t make you feel good about yourself.”
Rue sighs, dragging her hands down her face. “I don’t care, just fucking leave me alone please.” She sounds on the verge of tears, and her mother takes a step towards the staircase. “I know you’re in pain.”
Rue begins to get angry, quietly exclaiming, “You have no fucking idea, mom.” Her mom continues to talk to her calmly, trying to convince her to go to the hospital. Cassie walks forward slightly, in front of the area where you were standing with Maddy, Kat, and Lexi.
“I can’t get clean, I can’t do that shit forever.” You can hear the pain in Rue’s voice, and it makes your heart ache for your friend. Cassie takes another step forward, and you realize that she’s about to throw a wrench in this whole operation.
She swings her arms before over encouragingly saying, “You don’t have to. Just, take it one day at a time.” You wince slightly, knowing that she basically opened herself up for anything Rue wants to attack her with.
When Cassie glances around, you see Maddy gesture to her that it was a little too much, letting you know that the two of you were on the same page.
“Hey, Cass?” You wince when you hear Rue’s voice again, knowing that whatever comes next isn’t going to be pretty. Cassie responds innocently, and Rue follows up with, “I have a quick question for you.”
Cassie seems confused, responding, “What?” Rue sighs before answering, “How long have you been fucking Nate Jacobs?” You inhale sharply, not expecting that to come from the brunette girl. You feel Maddy tense up beside you, which sets you even more on edge.
Cassie is silent for a moment, before she starts nervously laughing. “Wh-What are you talking about?” Rue doesn’t hesitate before asking her question again, and this is when you know that all hell is about to break loose.
Cassie begins to stutter out denials, but Maddy ignores her in favor of questioning Rue. “What are you talking about?” Rue begins to play the innocent victim, turning all attention away from the actual intervention.
“Oh, I just- I saw her get in his truck and then kiss him and drive off, that was like, what, like uh… like a month ago?” You let out a slow exhale, realizing that was before you and Maddy had gotten together. So… Nate had cheated on Maddy with Cassie, Maddy’s best friend. Holy shit.
Maddy gives Cassie a dangerous look before dropping your hand and exclaiming, “Are you kidding me?” Cassie can’t even defend herself anymore as she just lets out whimpers and tries to hold back her tears. From behind you, Kat states, “Cass, that’s like, really bad.”
“You’re fucking Nate. Are you kidding me?!” You want to try to calm Maddy down, but she has a right to be angry. You know that she’s over Nate, but her best friend slept with her ex-boyfriend while they were still together. She trusted Cassie, and she fucked her over.
Cassie continues to try to stutter out denials, but Maddy exclaims, “You’re lying!” Ms. Howard tries to break up the argument by focusing back on the actual reason why everyone was here, but Maddy refuses. You take a step back as she explodes.
“No. No! You expect me to stand here next to my best friend who's been lying to me about fucking my ex-boyfriend? I’m literally going to get violent!” Ms. Howard tries to stop her again, but when Maddy sees that Cassie is crying, she storms forward.
Kat tries to grab her, but when she misses, she whisper-yells, “Y/N! Fucking do something! You’re the only person she’ll listen to.” You nod and sigh, getting ready to step into the fray where you were the most uncomfortable.
“You’re the one who’s hurt? You’re the most self-centered, idiotic person I have ever fucking met. You fuck my ex? And you’re fucking crying? Are you fucking kidding me?” You step up to her and place your hand on her arm. She goes to shrug you off, but when she realizes it’s you, she leans into your body.
You hold her, moving away from Cassie as Ms. Bennett yells at the rest of you. As she yells, you whisper to Maddy, “I’ve got you, baby. She’s not fucking worth it. Please, we came here for Rue. You can finish this later. Please.” She nods into your chest and you kiss her head. As you lead her to the door, you shoot everyone apologetic looks.
When you catch Cassie's gaze, you give her the most murderous look you can muster. Right before you walk out the door, you mouth, “You’re fucking dead.”
---
You drive Maddy to your house before guiding her up the stairs and into your room. She seems less mad and more shellshocked now, but you know at any moment she would break and the tears would come running.
You quickly grab some ice cream from your mini fridge and grab one of your hoodies for Maddy. As soon as you sit down next to her on your bed, she falls into you and begins sobbing. You let her cry as you lay the two of you back and stroke her hair.
She cries for a long time before she quietly asks, “How could she do this? She was my best friend.” You take note of the was, and instead of answering, you just pull the latina woman closer. The two of you sit in comfortable silence for a little while before she speaks up again.
“Thank you for talking me out of fighting her there. Not saying I won’t fight her somewhere else, but that wasn’t the time, or the place.” You let out a soft snort at her confession, quietly answering, “Of course. I needed to get out of there, anyway. Was starting to feel claustrophobic.”
Maddy snuggles even deeper into your bed, tired out from everything that went down. As she drifts off to sleep, you hear her mumble, “I love you, Y/N.” You smile gently down at the girl snuggled into you, turning off your light.
You press a kiss to her head and quietly answer, “I love you, too.”

Yoooo, so I loved the maddy x daughter!reader !!
So i was wondering if you could make a part two! Where as a young child like 3 or 4 maybe the reader is running from Maddy (playfully) and the reader accidentally runs into Nate...whatever you want to do after that is up to you!!

Pairing: Maddy Perez x daughter!reader
Summary: You grew into your young teen years. It would be a lie if you said that things hadn't been easy. But you had a loving mother, loving grandparents, and amazing aunts who visited frequently. The last person you ever met was your father. A man you already had a deep hatred for even when you were a baby.
(gif used is not mine)
Warnings: angst and fluff
Part One and Final Part
Words 2154
"Y/n, are you almost ready, sweetheart?" Maddy called and immediately was greeted by feet padding down the stairs. A smile played on her lips when she saw you come barrelling around the corner into the kitchen with a large grin. Twirling in your sundress that you had picked out.
Maddy placed a hand on her hip, raising a brow with a look of surprise. "Wow," she said. "Look at you. All fancy and beautiful."
"You like it?" You beamed that same beautiful smile she had adored the day she saw you.
"I do, baby." She nodded. "Eat your lunch and we'll head straight to the park. That sound good?"
As always, you nodded and hopped onto the stool and began eating your peanut butter and jam sandwich. Specifically cut into squares with no crust on them. A very keen detail that you had raved on and on about to your mother the first time she made you a sandwich.
In many cases, ones that Maddy was happy about, you resembled a whole lot of her. Most of the time, you were adorably sassy when you were in a bad mood. Your aunts always teased you about it when your mom got together. There was also the love you had for make-up and clothes. But you didn't nag your mom about getting you new clothes. You knew that she wasn't exactly loaded with money, so you used what you had and only asked when you needed new stuff.
You were easy to raise and Maddy was happy about that. She spoiled you when she could, but being a single mother living in an apartment made those moments very rare. But like always, you reassured her and still showed her the love she deserved.
Every day, you showed how much she felt a guilt and resentment towards herself for ever considering the idea of getting an abortion. She always felt a deep and hellish rage towards your father, who had even put the idea in her head or even suggested it. Because if he ever saw the beautiful and amazing young girl you grew up to be, he would hate himself. And Maddy hoped that every day that passed, he hated himself for not supporting you and her or never coming around.
She also hadn’t expected you to show the same type of hatred for the man. You never outright said it, but she could easily tell.
“Do you hate him?” The question had Maddy blinking, returning to reality to stare at you.
“What do you mean, babe?” She asked, slipping into the stool beside you. “Who do I hate?”
“Dad,” you replied with a slight twang of sass. “I hate him so much.”
Maddy licked her lips, turning your stool towards her. A smile forming on her lips when you glared at her from taking you away from your food. But it washed away when Maddy stroked you cheek affectionately.
Now, with four years of life on your belt, the similarities of Nate did show through. That well-defined jaw line, those slightly plump lips, and the dimples on your cheeks.
It may have once hurt her having to acknowledge the fact that you may take qualities of him. It hurt her so much in fact that she remembers the night that you woke up in the middle of the night and came down to the living room. Finding her a complete drunken mess after an unsuccessful date.
“Today has been hell, Jules,” Maddy sighed. “I’m going to have a hangover for Y/n’s parent teacher interview, and that’s never good.”
She paused for a few moments, inhaling deeply. “I feel like today since I left Nate is the very first time I’ve felt lonely.” Something about that statement caused Maddy’s throat to close up as she let out a sob. “And I never feel lonely, not when I have my little love around.”
Maddy smacked her lips together, wiping away her tears desperately. “I feel like I’ve been overcompensating to get my mind off the fact that he’s Y/n’s father, you know?” She said. “Like, I just can’t look at her without seeing him. I love her so much, and nothing will change that, but it gets hard sometimes. With her constant outbursts at school and the fighting, it just becomes too much.”
“Mommy?” Your graceful and worried voice alerted the woman. Sniffling slightly as she wiped the tears from her eyes and ending the voicemail that would be immediately be sent to Jules, who resided in New York with Rue.
Feigning a smile as she turned to you where you stood at the bottom of stairs, watching her worriedly. “Hi, baby,” Maddy greeted with a sniffle before her brows knitted together. “Why are you still awake? Did I wake you up?”
You didn’t reply, but you walked over to her silently. Your bare feet padding against the wooden floor. Until you finally stood in front of her and Maddy wasn’t able to say anything before your arms wrapped around her neck.
It wasn’t anything knew, but the deaf silence left her uneasy, yet safe. Especially in your arms. And when you spoke, she felt every wall every parent puts up coming down around her.
“You know you can cry and talk to me, right?”
And that’s what she did. She broke down into sobs in your small arms where you cradled her head. You could hear her heart break in your ears and it had made you cry.
But it was then she realized that it hadn’t mattered if you looked like him or shared bits and pieces of his personality. You were better than both Maddy and Nate combined. That was a hill Maddy was willing to fight and die on for the rest of her life.
“I love your daddy because he gave you to me,” she said. “You’re half me and half daddy.”
You let out a scoff, lips pushing out into a pout. “I wish I was just you,” you complained. “You’re my idol.”
If Maddy wasn’t in such a good mood, she might’ve shedded a few tears. But she held them back, offering a beaming smile in return to your heartwarming words.
“How about you eat that on the way to the park and then we can go to the grocery store for supper?” She suggested. “I’ll let you help make it with me.”
“As long as it is meatballs and rice, then I am happy.” Maddy laughed at you comment as she grabbed you a container to stuff your sandwiches inside for the car ride.
It was short as you silently at your sandwiches in the back seat. Maddy focused on music that played through the speakers as she took the turns necessary to get you to the park as fast as she could. She wanted to give you an hour of playing at the park and then grab groceries and then stay home for the rest of the weekend. She may even invite Jules and Rue over for you to have some brand new company around the apartment.
When you guys did arrive at the park, you were practically bolting out of the vehicle and towards the play fort. Maddy smiled, climbing out of the vehicle as well and moving to a small park bench that was free. Watching you interact with the other kids and play around in the sand and on the play fort.
She couldn’t understand how you to get along with random kids, but could never be responsible at school. Don’t get her wrong, she was the exact same when she was your age. She got into fights all the damn time, but they were justified. Yours seem to be random outbursts of anger that she doesn’t ever see from you.
At home, you’re sweet and soft spoken at times or can be loud and rambunctious. It’s a blurry line between the two states, but she’s never witnessed your anger. So, why out of school, were you so calm and sweet? It could’ve been bullies, but your teacher had told Maddy how easy going you could be with everyone. But there was always the rare occasions where you smashed a full box of Lego pieces into the back of a boy’s head.
There was no correlation or connection to them that Maddy could find. So, it confused her how well you acted with kids and people outside of school. If she was being honest, it frightened her. Just knowing that there was this ruthless side to you that she had yet to see or ever experience. She just hoped that it would lessen as you got older.
“Maddy.”
Maddy felt her entire body tense up, throat closing up. That voice. Oh, God, please no. She slowly turned her head and found none other than Nate Jacobs standing a few feet to her right. A hand raised in surrender, showing he meant no harm.
“I am just here to talk,” he reassured. “Can we talk?”
She swallowed the lump in her throat, moving her bag from beside her and silently placing it by her feet. Hand resting on her left pocket, blocking the view of the switchblade she kept for precaution. But there was no hiding the tremble that ran down her body when Nate sat beside her.
Years had passed, they had graduated, and he was still here. She thought he would’ve got a D1 Scholarship for football, but it seemed life didn’t turn out well for him. Not that she had cared enough to pay attention. Maddy had bigger problems to deal with and they revolved around you, along with the best things in her life.
“What do you want, Nate?” She finally asked, eyes focusing on you. “It better be good or we’re leaving.”
“Is she here?” He asked softly, looking at the crowd of kids.
“She is, but you aren’t touching her,” she sassed. “You lost the privilege's of being her father the night you gave up on us.”
“What did you expect me to do?” He asked. “We were kids. It freaked me out and I reacted horribly because I wasn’t ready for a kid.”
Maddy had to admit, it was a good point to be made. She didn’t think she was ready, but here she was, thriving with an amazing daughter. It didn’t matter if things seemed dark or if it was hard to make ends meet, she did it for you. Everything was for you. If Nate had maybe had the same thought process, things may have been different.
But there was no taking back what he said that night. “And you are now?” Maddy spat. “Is that why you’re here? To try and be the father you should’ve been four years ago?”
“Yes,” he breathed. “That is all I want. I want to be in my daughters life because that’s what she is, my daughter.”
It took everything in Maddy to not pull out her switchblade and cut Nate’s face or slash his throat. His daughter? Who the fuck did he think he was? A savior? The knight in shining armor coming to save yours and Maddy’s life with his daddy’s money? It disgusted her to say the least that he would even claim to be her babies father. If he hadn’t been there to see you grow into the young girl you were now, he wasn’t the father.
“I’ll tell you something, Nate,” Maddy began. “You may be her flesh and blood, but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re a shit father. You have been gone from her entire life so far and I don’t see that changing. I know you just want to find something control because you’re scared of not being able to command someone to do what you want.”
She stood to her feet, shouldering her hand bag over her shoulder. “Y/n, time to go home, baby!”
You whined, standing on the top of the play fort. “But we just got here!”
“Well, we’re leaving for good reason.”
For a moment, you tilted your head in confusion to your mother’s words. But when you noticed him on the bench watching you, you understood. Face dropping into a scowl as you hurriedly went to your mother’s side and grabbed her hand. Shamelessly glaring at the man who called himself your father.
But before you two left, Maddy turned to Nate. A glare of her own forming on her features as she looked him up and down. “You may have supplied the sperm, but it doesn’t make you the father,” she hissed. “It’s more than genetics to me for you be considered her father.”
And with that, the both of you walked away. Leaving Nate to sit on the park bench, staring out as the children played. His opportunity was up, and there was no way he was changing fate.

previous part
Being in such a vulnerable position was a relatively new concept for Maddy. She was the type of person who liked to hold the cards in all situations, and even when she was with Nate, the meek facade that she would portray had him doing whatever she pleased. Everyone else who she’d ever been with was on her own terms, and that was the way she liked it. But with Y/n, the dynamic was different.
Y/n had the ability to have Maddy fired from her job, yet she didn’t. At first, Maddy thought that perhaps Y/n was a bit fearful of her and was bluffing, but she quickly learned that the girl was simply sitting on this knowledge until the right moment, and having fun with Maddy while she was at it.
For three weeks after the first incident, each time that Maddy was over to babysit Theo, she would catch Y/n in some sort of compromising position, and each time, she was sure that it was not a coincidence. At first, she had considered leaving for the sake of not being labelled a creep, but the something about meeting her gaze seemed to spur Y/n on, and she would often spread herself out wider and quicken her movements until she tipped over the edge to her messy release. Then, she found herself admiring the view, how simply beautiful she appeared in such a vulnerable, yet powerful position, and how she always seemed to know exactly how to get herself where she needed to go. And finally, after the fourth time of catching her in such a manner had Maddy shifting her thighs together and finishing herself off later that night when she returned to her own home. This was a power move for Y/n, and for some reason, it certainly threatened Maddy. One thing’s for sure; Maddy needed to find a way to get the upper hand, and fast.
Maddy began to ask around about Y/n, and it quickly dawned on her that she virtually knew very little about her employer’s daughter. She knew her name, of course, and that she went to some preppy private school about twenty minutes out of town, but she hadn’t really spent much time actually talking to Y/n, so there wasn’t much for her to go off of.
She asked Kat, first.
“Name sounds familiar, but no. Sorry.”
Then, she asked Cassie.
“She’s that girl who goes to that prep school, right? Yeah, I’ve heard of her, I think I follow her on Insta or something?”
So she found her Instagram, and she wasn’t entirely surprised to find her feed filled with various selfies and bikini pics, and as risque the photo she had posted for her eighteenth birthday was, there was nothing that was too incriminating. Maddy was almost ready to give up, maybe she would be able to talk Y/n and convince her to keep quiet. Almost.
After digging through every trace of Y/n Y/l/n on the internet, Maddy found the Holy Grail. Link after link and the entrance of her card details brought Maddy face to face with a very active OnlyFans page, allowing her to view some very artsy nude photos and videos, and though Y/n had not hidden her face in any of them, Maddy would have recognized her bare body anywhere. Maddy grinned, knowing that there was no way that Y/n would continue threatening her if she knew that Maddy had gotten a hold of her OnlyFans. Then, after scrolling through the first few posts, she found herself ogling one particular video.
The camera was placed on a surface, allowing her to eye the two figures meshing together on the lush, red velvet couch. Her eyes were drawn to Y/n, the way that her breasts heaved with each of her heavy pants and whimpers as she gyrated her hips in time with the blonde girl opposite her, eagerly pushing their pussies against one another, creating a loud sloshing sound. Y/n allowed curses to fall from her painted lips, leaning forward to catch the blonde’s own lips in an open-mouthed kiss. The video ended just as Y/n’s head tilted backwards and a loud cry sounded, a familiar sight for Maddy after she had begun her habit of voyeurism.
The next video featured the same girl, only this time, she was flat on her back with her face buried underneath Y/n’s hips as she practically humped against her, all while leaning forward to suck on the blonde’s clit. Maddy tugged her lip between her teeth as she watched, one hand subconsciously sliding down to slip below her silk panties, gasping out a heavy breath as her manicured fingers toyed with her own clit.
There, under the privacy of her comforter, Maddy brought herself over the edge again and again after watching these videos, some of Y/n being pleasured by others, though most were solo videos. Regardless, Maddy was enthralled, not to mention that they could be used against her, which Maddy had full intentions of doing.
Maddy didn’t have to work for the next week straight.Y/n’s family had gone to visit Samantha’s mother out of state, and Y/n had stayed home, which gave Maddy the perfect opportunity to go over to confront her.
Y/n opened the door in a fluffy white robe, brows raised as she took in Maddy’s expression. A small, devious smirk crawled onto her lips as she leaned her shoulder against the doorframe.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t everyone’s favourite Peeping Tammy,” She mused, “I know for a fact that you already know that everyone else is gone, so that means that you’re here for me, huh?” Y/n opened the door wider before she turned and walked further into the house, silently signalling for Maddy to follow her in.
“So what brings you over, Maddy? You here for another show?” Y/n leaned on the kitchen counter.
Maddy opened her phone and slid it across the counter, allowing the other girl to view the series of photos and videos, “Bet your parents wouldn’t be too happy to find out about this.”
“Ah, so you found my little side hustle,” Y/n grinned, “Did you watch it all? I know how much you love to watch.”
“You’re gonna keep your mouth shut about me, and I keep mine shut about you, ‘kay?”
Y/n ran her tongue over her glossy lips, hardly containing her growing smirk as she slid the phone back to Maddy, “You drive a hard bargain, but I have to admit that I wasn’t gonna say shit about you.”
“Why not?”
“Honestly, I don’t really care all that much. You’re just so fun to mess with.”
“Fuck you,” Maddy spat, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Who am I to turn down such an offer?” Y/n slid around the counter and began crossing the room, fingers untying the belt around her waist as she opened the large set of sliding doors out to the pool deck, “You coming?”
“Coming where?”
“Hot tub,” Y/n glanced over her shoulder, “If not, you know where the door is.”
Maddy pursed her lips, “I don’t have a suit.”
A mischievous glint found its way to Y/n’s eye as she finally opened her robe and allowed it to slide down her arms and land on the floor with a quiet thump, “Me neither.”
Maddy’s eyes wandered over Y/n’s nude back as she sauntered out onto the pool deck, her view slowly becoming altered as she lowered herself into the tub. Maddy chewed her bottom lip for a moment, debating her options, but her body began moving itself in the direction of the hot tub before she even gave it a second thought.
She slowly peeled away each layer of clothing until she was left in her bra and panties, tugging her hair back as she slid into the water opposite Y/n, who leaned her head back and closed her eyes as she allowed a small moan to escape her lips at the feeling of the gentle jets against her back. Slowly, she squinted her eyes open to meet the gaze of Maddy as she watched on silently.
“So,” Y/n stretched one arm over her head, “Which one was your favourite?”
Maddy rolled her eyes, but didn’t respond.
“Was it the one in the shower? Y/n leaned closer, “Or maybe the ones with the red couch? Those ones are my favourite, too.”
“Oh, the ones with your little girlfriend?”
“Girlfriend?” Y/n laughed, “You mean Olivia? Baby, she’s not my girlfriend. She’s just some girl on the basketball team.”
Maddy ignored the fluttering of her heart at the pet name, “So you just fuck random girls all the time, huh?”
Y/n shrugged, “Sometimes. But there’s this one random girl I’ve been wanting to fuck for a while now. I’ve literally been throwing myself at her, she just doesn’t seem to notice that much.”
“Yeah right.”
Y/n pushed herself off of the bench, rising just enough that Maddy could clearly pick out the shapes of her dark nipples over the hot, bubbling water as she moved to sit beside her.
“You really think you were just running into me while I was touching myself? You didn’t realise that it was always while you were watching that I let myself come?”
Their warm flesh nudged together as Y/n’s hot breath fanned over Maddy’s cheek, her fingers finding her own under the cover of the water as she laced them together.
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, Maddy, but I’ve been trying to get in your pants ever since you started working here.” Y/n tugged Maddy’s hand across her own thigh and settled just above her heat, “You can feel how wet I am if you don’t believe me.”
Maddy wasted not another moment before she turned her head, forcing their lips together in a hard, sloppy kiss. Teeth clashed and tongues swirled together as her free hand grasped at the back of Y/n’s head, gripping her hair to keep her from pulling away. Maddy obliged, slipping her fingers from Y/n’s and sliding two between her folds, collecting a fair amount of her arousal before she began circling her clit delicately.
“See,” Y/n panted in between kisses, “That’s all for you, baby.”
Y/n pushed her back against the bench, clambering onto her lap before planting their lips together once more. She began grinding their hips together letting out little whimpers as her bundle of nerves dragged against the material of Maddy’s panties, and gasping as Maddy’s hands gripped her ass, massaging and spreading her cheeks in rhythm with her movements.
“Can I taste you?” Y/n whispered as she tugged Maddy’s breasts free from her bra, massaging her pink nipples gently beneath her thumbs.
“Mhm,” Maddy nodded eagerly, shoving Y/n off of her so that she could unclasp her bra and toss it to the side and slide up so that she was sitting on the edge of the tub with her legs spread.
Y/n chewed her bottom lip, admiring the outline of Maddy’s puffy lips through the wet cotton as she slid closer, kneeling on the bench between her legs. Y/n smirked up at Maddy, batting her eyelashes sweetly as she leaned forward, dragging her tongue flat over her panties slowly from the bottom to the top before hooking the cotton between her teeth and dragging it down her legs. Y/n’s mouth watered at the sight of her pink pussy peeking past her labia, peeking up at the girl above her and taking note at how she watched her, brows furrowed and lips parted ever so slightly.
“You ever been eaten out by another girl, Mads?”
She shook her head bashfully, “Never been with a girl before.”
“You’re in luck,” Y/n grinned as Maddy whimpered under the sudden pressure of Y/n’s thumb, “Because I’ve heard that I’m really good at it.”
Maddy cried out as Y/n’s tongue poked at her entrance, gliding up through her wet folds until it reached beneath her clitoral hood, making sure to massage it for a few moments before repeating the motion. Maddy reached for the back of Y/n’s head with one hand, and laced the other with the hand that Y/n had been using to hold her thighs apart. Her hips began to buck as Y/n suckled and licked, working her in a way that she’d never felt before as her free hand reached up to alternate pinching her nipples.
“Fuck, you’re so good,” Maddy panted, forcing her head closer to where she needed her most.
Y/n hummed, sending vibrations through Maddy’s core as she sped up, encouraged by the increasing volume in her moans, “You taste so good, Mads. You like that?”
“Uh-huh,” Maddy’s face screwed up as she felt the pressure begin to build up in her belly, “Oh my fucking God. Baby I’m gonna come.”
“Go ahead,” Y/n breathed, moving down to massage her tight hole, “I wanna taste you.”
Maddy wailed, the tightening sensation in her belly finally releasing as Y/n dragged her teeth over her clit one last time, moaning as she caught every drop of Maddy’s juices on her tongue as she rode out her high, humping her core against Y/n’s tongue until every last aftershock had disappeared. The moment she released Y/n from her grasp, she sank down into the water and caught her in an even more intense kiss than the previous, breaking away sooner than expected as she moved down to suckle her dark nipples into hard buds.
“Shit, Mads.”
“Get up, I wanna fuck you now.”
Maddy forced Y/n up onto the side of the tub, admiring her wet body as she turned her back to Maddy, bending at the hips and pressing one bent knee up so she was completely spread out in front of her. Maddy bit her lip, taking the spot on the bench just below her as she hooked her elbows under her hips, forcing her pussy taut against her awaiting tongue.
“Oh fuck,” Y/n whimpered, wriggling against her as she began to trace figure eights over her clit repeatedly, “Oh, oh yeah, Maddy.”
Maddy dropped her jaw, sliding her face upwards so that Y/n’s entire core was being coated in her saliva, humming and shaking her face further into her as Y/n continued to chant out praises, each one encouraging Maddy to go faster. Her tongue poked into her clenching pussy, feeling around her velvet walls. She opened her eyes, catching sight of the glinting pussy in front of her, then trailing up to the tight hole that she had not yet touched. In an act of bravery, she brought her tongue to Y/n’s clit and dragged it up slowly, holding back a laugh as Y/n began to squeal in surprise as her tongue continued past her pussy, massaging the flesh of her perineum briefly before she began to circle her tight hole with her tongue, pulling back to drip some saliva onto it as her fingers began to work on her clit.
“Oh, oh, fuck, Maddy,” Y/n glanced back over her shoulder, shuddering as Maddy’s tongue pushed into the hole just slightly before returning to massaging it, “Oh my God, yeah, keep doing– oh! Keep doing that, yeah right there.”
Maddy moaned into Y/n’s soft flesh, removing her tongue briefly to press her teeth into her cheek just enough to leave a tiny mark before she returned.
“Mads,” Y/n’s entire body began to rise and fall with her heavy pants, pushing back against her face as her hips began to grind into her, “I’m so close, God that feels so good. Fuck!”
A gasping breath left her as her body trembled, Maddy moving back down to catch the burst of liquid that seeped out of her clenching pussy. Maddy licked her lean of her own juices before she pulled back, leaving one final kiss against the teeth marks left in her asscheek before pulling her back into the water by her hips.
Y/n leaned back against her, letting her head sag backwards so she could capture her in a hot kiss, tongues meeting before their lips did.
“Holy fuck,” Y/n laughed, turning to snuggle against her, “If I had’ve know that you were gonna fuck me like that, I probably would have invited you to do this sooner.”
Maddy kissed her again, “If I had’ve known you wanted me to, I definitely would have.”

Imagine in euphoria 2x08 when Cassie was ruining the play maddy and Lexi's boyfriend had enough of Cassie and telling her to get out of the play. Then while Maddy when on a rampage to get Cassie, y/n went to check and Lexi and encourage to carry on with the play because Lexi's brilliant.
Maddy Perez x Male!reader
"Well if that's make me a villain then so fucking be it, I can play the villian!"
Tonight was Lexi's big moment and Cassie was ruining it.
Suze was failing at getting her older daughter off the stage so you got out of your seat, storming up to her and joining the chaos.
"Alright Cassie that's enough, time to get off the stage," you tell her.
"Of course you're taking her side she's making you look like a Saint!" Cassie yells, "but isn't it embarrassing that shes confessing her love for you in a room full of people?"
"The only person you're embarrassing is yourself, so calm down and you can talk about this with Lexi when it's over," you state.
"You know, you and Lexi really would be good together, you're both pussies who only know how to stand on the sidelines," she says shoving you away from her.
"Oh this bitch needs to be put down" Maddy huffs.
"Maddy?" Kat says as Maddy gets out of her seat and heads towards the stage, "Maddy no!"
"Maddy beat her ass!" You hear BB yell while Kat chases after her.
She grabs Cassie and they get into a brawl, Maddy slapping Cassie across the face making the audience gasp.
Kat and Suze are trying to separate the girls and you notice Lexi is nowhere to be found so you give up on the spectacle happening on stage and leave to look for the girl you had been crushing on all year.
You find her sitting in the middle of the background props and she has tears in her eyes.
"So are you going to tell people that's part of the play?" You say sitting next to her.
"The only thing I've ever done and it's a disaster," she says, wiping away a tear.
"It could be worse," you shrug.
"How?"
"It could be boring," you say, trying to lighten the mood.
"That's true," she smiles slightly.
"I mean how many plays in the history of East highland have started a riot?"
"Thanks Y/N," she chuckles, "you made me feel a lot better."
"Anytime Lex, your play is brilliant and it would be a shame not to see the ending," you tell her.
"I don't know if the ending can compare to that mess but I'll try," she smiles.
"Good and anyways, I need to know if Grace gets the guy in the end," you tease her.
"Do you think she should?" Lexi asks.
"Yeah I think she deserves something good in her life," you reply.
Lexi looks at you, putting her hand on your cheek and leaning in to kiss you.
The kiss is soft and gentle but everything you have been wanting for.
When you pull away you're both smiling, "go kick some ass out there Lexi."
You returned to your seat, the crowd calming down after Maddy and Cassie took the fight to the hallway.
Lexi nervously takes the stage, mic in hand.
She starts off her speech apologizing for the commotion and finds you in the crowd.
"A few days ago I was talking to a friend of mine about this play and I asked him, what if I upset people? And he said, sometimes people need to get their feelings hurt so… this one's for him," she smiles happily at you.

“You’re just an annoying bitch, Y/n!”
Dread and anxiety clung to your heart and lungs every time you stepped into that house. A thick cloud of smoke filling your lungs and eliciting a feeling of suffocation. If not from the anxiety than from her girlfriend, Tasha, who gripped your throat and squeezed tightly. Her bottom teeth stained with blood as she grunted, applying more pressure to your wind pipe. Pressing the end of her fathers Glock to your temple and likely creating a bruise.
“You think you can hit me without getting hurt?” She questioned. “Is that what you fucking think?” Tears streaming down your cheeks with whimpers being choked out. Utter gasps and pleas that fell on your girlfriend’s deaf ears.
Hand desperately trying to tap out, beg her to relieve her hands from your throat. But your strength was slowly slithering from your grasp. A cold chill running up your body and stopping at your hairline where it stayed. Eyes fighting to stay open and stare at the girl who proclaimed loved you. Your eyes rolled back into your head as darkness slowly invaded your vision and mind.
But just as you were about to dive head first, Tasha’s hand pulled away. With a sob, you coughed and gasped for air. Only giving a moment as you tried to push her hands away. There was a struggle with a gunshot going off before two arms grabbed you and tossed you to the side. Your feet backpedaled as you stared at her with wide eyes. Then when you took another step, you met nothing.
It all felt slow mo. Your body slowly fall back as your hands desperately tried to reach out for Tasha’s. Your heart getting caught in your throat as the air blew your hair out from behind you and into your face. And the last sight you had was the small pendant around your pinky finger from your mother. Before you were plunged into darkness.
You had never understood why you had deserved such treatment. Everyone loved you. As outspoken as you were at times and aggressive, you were kind to the ones that you loved and cared about. That’s how you had made so many friends and had even created a somewhat normal relationship with your father. He was still an asshole for abandoning your mom and proposing the idea of aborting you. But at least there was something there instead of nothing.
A lot of people praised you for being like your mom though. Aunt Jules continuously telling you that you can sometimes have that snarky attitude when you get angry. The next you are as sweet as an angel. But then again, your mom did say that your dad used to be angry all the time. There was some similarities there.
But one person who’d managed to break through those defenses had been Tasha. She sat in front of you in Calc and had rich brown skin that you stared at most of the time. Picking apart every piece of detail that was given to you in each different outfit she wore. She had a muscular build, but nothing that would draw the attention of judging eyes. She was fucking perfect. You had found no imperfections in her shoulders, back, arms, legs- God, you fucking loved those legs! She perfumed perfection at it’s core, and you had been hopelessly hooked.
She played for the girls basketball team and you remembered the first time she had ran into you. It’d been a harmless conversation and nothing truly enlightening. Just a simple question if you would be coming to the game for their first game of the season as everyone else was going. Of course, you said you would and she gave you that famous smile that had rocked your world. That had been one of the first times a girl left butterflies in your stomach and teasing comments from your friends.
You did show up for the game and cheered. Eyes fixated on Tasha and how she dribbled the wall. The way her legs clenched when jumping up for a rebound or shooting from the three-point line. And you had nearly shot out of your seat when she won the game with a shot near the East Highland logo at the center of the court. Watching as her and the rest of the team celebrated their first game and first win of the season.
Only, she had found your eyes and smiled widely. Giving you a friendly wave which you shyly returned.
“Mom, I’ll be home soon.” You paced in one of the empty halls of the high school with your phone pressed against your ear. Down the hall pass a few opened double doors, parents and kids were talking and making their way outside. It was already 9 PM and you were seriously late for your curfew. Not to mention the fact that you had to be home and get enough sleep to actually talk to your Aunts who would be visiting from New York. “I’m just out with Kelly right now.”
“Oh, really?” Maddy asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.
“Hi, sweety!”
Hearing Aunt Rue’s voice made you close your eyes. Leaning against one of the walls with you sighing. “Okay,” you said. “So, I’m not hanging out with Kelly. She decided to go over and hangout at Aunt Lexi’s place to be around Sam. I’m at the girl’s basketball game.”
At home, Jules spun around from the cabinet to look at her wife and Maddy in surprise. As much as you went out with friends, the least expected place you could be was for a basketball game.
Maddy, being the most confused, braced her hands along the edge of the island. “Why are you there?” She asked. “I thought you hated basketball.”
“Oh, I do, mom,” you laughed. “A person invited me to come. It was the fi-”
“Oh, my God!” Jules exclaimed. “Do you have a crush with one of the girl’s on the basketball team?”
You pushed yourself off the wall and started waving your hands in the air, looking like a damn fool. “No!” You exclaimed. “No, no, no! I do not have a crush with anyone on the basketball team. I just wanted to go and watch it.”
“Good on you, Y/n,” Rue praised. “It’s better than one of the guys on the football team your dad coaches.”
A groan slipped past your lips as you heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Turning your head to find none other than Tasha with a warm smile. “Hi.”
You damn near dropped your phone at such a beautiful sight. But managing to compose yourself, you smiled before turning away. “Okay, I’ve gotta go. Okay, love you. Don’t call me again. Love you, bye!”
“Wait, Y/n-”
The phone call ended with you turning to Tasha with a nervous smile. “Hi.”
“Hi.” She laughed softly as she adjusted the strap on her bag.
There was painfully odd amount of awkwardness as the two of you didn’t know what to say to one another. Nodding to yourselves, hoping the other would come up with something to converse about. But you hadn’t had anything in mind considering the fact that you hadn’t expected Tasha to actually come over to you. Maybe just a simple greeting as she was leaving, but not come over where you were all alone.
Pursing your lips, you jutted a thumb over your shoulder. “Pretty crazy game you guys had- Hmm!”
Tasha’s hands cupped your face her lips pressing against yours. Almost instantly causing you to melt into it and reciprocate.
When she pulled away, she let out smile. “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that.”
From that night on, your guys’ relationship had been instantaneous. A lot people hadn’t expected you to date someone like Tasha. But it was happening and there wasn’t much you could say on it. It wasn’t like you regretted it because the way she treated you was enough for you to deal with the constant questions of why from everyone.
The one person you hadn’t had the confidence to tell was your mother. She often questioned you quite frequently when you started to come home later than usual. Damn near 3 AM is the only time she would see you throughout the day sometimes and it was scaring her. But the more she persisted, the larger the divide she created. An ocean between lands.
You’d just wanted to be happy and be happy with the girl you loved. And each day, she was making that difficult.
Maddy was stood in the kitchen preparing dinner when she heard your footsteps moving down the stairs. “Hey, sweetheart,” she called. “I’m going to be making us some tacos. I was wondering if you wanted to-”
She glanced up to find you not even acknowledging her existence or what she had to say. Only seeing you fully dressed up with your keys in hand.
A frown pulled at her features as she quickly followed you. “Y/n, where do you think you’re going?”
You stopped short of the door, back facing her as she crossed her arms over her chest. “I’m going out.”
“Like hell you are!” Maddy said. “You’ve been going out night after night and sometimes not showing up at all! I’ve been easy on you, but this has got to stop.”
Finally, you turned and faced her. “You did this all the time when you were my age,” you pointed out. “Why can’t I do the same?”
“Because I said so, Y/n,” she seethed. “Give me the keys.”
Maddy watched as you stared at her before shaking your head. “No.”
“Y/n.”
“I’ve gotta go.”
“You aren’t going anywhere,” she stated.
“Bullshit, watch me.” This tone and selective words you had chosen had never been used on her before. It shocked her at how surprisingly collected you seemed to be. The hollow look in your eyes scaring her even more than you already had.
“Watch your tone!”
“I ain’t watch shit with you!” You spat. “Leave me the fuck alone- Don’t fucking touch me mom!”
All she could do was gasp at the bruise that had been revealed just barely from your left arm sleeve. Noticeable hand prints that had turned all different shades of purple and orange. It was brutal and made Maddy’s stomach turn.
Her lips parted as she pointed to your arm, mouth closing and opening, trying to concoct the words stuck on the tip of her tongue. “Did she do that do you?” She asked. “Did your girlfriend fucking do that do you?”
When she tried to step closer, you stepped away. “Step near me again and I swear to God I’ll beat your fucking ass!” You warned.
“Y/n, has she been hurting-”
“Fuck you!”
Maddy felt her chest tighten as you glared at her with nothing but hatred and resentment. “Fuck you!” You repeated. “I fucking hate you! Don’t be jumping to conclusions when you decided to fuck an asshole who had red flags all over his ass! I can’t fucking stand you being on my back all the fucking time with you being so fucking protective and shit!”
“My job as a mother is to be-”
“Well I wish you weren’t my mom!” You cried. Mascara smeared and streaming down your cheeks. “I wouldn’t be this way if you didn’t have to go and date an abusive asshole who I can’t even stand being related to you! I wish you would just fuck off and get out of my life! I fucking hate everything about you!”
Tears streamed down Maddy’s cheeks as she nodded, licking her lips as she stepped forward in hopes of restraining you. But as she took the first step forward, you cold-cocked her across the face. Sending her flying to floor as she held her nose that started to drip with blood.
“Fuck off me, bitch!” You yelled. “Don’t fucking call me or talk to me! Stay out of my fucking life!”
She had watched you leave with the whole bottom half of her face covered and smeared with blood. Tears streaming down her face as she continued to cry out for you to come back. Pleading for you to just talk this out. If only she’d known...
“As you’re a minor, Miss Martin, you will be tried as an adult with the total of 45 years in jail for the first degree murder of, Y/n Perez,” The Judge announced. “With the chance of parole being given after 20 years of your sentence is carried out.”
Maddy sat there, lips parting as she inhaled shakily with her eyes lifting to Tasha. Finding the girl sitting there emotionlessly with her lawyer on the other side of her. Her heart had sunk to the floor as she grabbed a handful of her shirt at the center of her chest. Feeling a pair of arms wrap around you with the additional sound of yells filling the court room.
“You killed my daughter!” Nate yelled. “You fucking murderer! You took everything from me! You deserve death you fucking bitch! I fucking-” Guard ran over, stopping him from sprinting at Tasha who stared at the man fearfully. “I’ll fucking you! Why did you have to do this? Why?! Why my baby girl?!”
Nate had begun to be pulled out of the court room with police quickly rushing over to Tasha to get her out of immediate danger. Meanwhile Maddy had folded into Jules’ arms with sobs racking her body. Your last words echoing in her mind like a broken record.
Maddy doesn’t know how long that house has felt so cold without your warm presence being there. Her heart aching every day and reminded of the last few words you two had shared together. She wanted to make it up to you. Make what things right and support you in any way she could. She had even gone as far as to contact Nate and ask if he’d seen you at school. When he said that you hadn’t been showing up, her anxiety rose.
Thankfully, Nate had given her the name of your girlfriend, Tasha Martin. So, after a few quick google searches, she had figured out where the girl lived. When she finally arrived, she spotted your car parked out front the large house. Getting out, she started walking towards the front door with her eyes scanning the neighborhood.
But her body froze up when she heard a scream and the loud crack of gunshot. Her head snapping in the direction of the front door, she ran over. “Y/n?” She called. “Y/n?”
She didn’t care to knock on the door as she busted through. Gasping when she found you laid out right at the bottom of the stairs to her left with a red patch of blood surrounding the side of your abdomen. A whimper escaping your lips as you turned your head to find your mom.
“Mom?” You whimpered as Maddy snapped out of her momentary shock.
“Y/n!” She said. “Hey, what happened? Wha- What happened, Baby?”
“I- I don’t know.” You cried when your mother pressed her hand to the wound.
“I know it hurts, sweetheart, i know.” Maddy’s eyes snapped up to the top of the stairs to find the culprit. Tasha with a pistol in her hand as she stared at you in shock. Despite the bloodlust Maddy felt, her worry was focused on you. “Call 9-1-1, please!”
Tears stuck to your cheeks as you held onto your mother shirt for dear life. “I wanna go home, mom!” You cried. “I wanna go home, please! Please, take me home, mommy!”
Maddy held a hand on your wound, feeling her hand drenched in your blood as she nodded, tears feeling her eyes. “We’re going to go home, baby,” she cried. “I promise you, I’ll get you home. Please, someone help us!”
Your eyes fluttered, about to close until Maddy cupped your face. “Look me in the eyes, honey.” She only got a cry in response, the adrenaline and shock not having even kicked in before and after the gunshot.
A sob escaped your lips as you shook your head. Tears staining your cheeks as you began to cough, sending waves of pain to your stomach. Blood started to erupt from between your lips with each cough and staining your teeth and lips.
“No, no, no.” Maddy reached up, wiping the blood as your head tried to stay up. Lulling back every other second as you cried.
“I’m sorry for what I said,” you cried. “I’m so sorry, mommy.”
“Don’t apologize, baby,” Maddy sobbed. “Just stay awake, all right? Just keep your eyes on me!”
You whimpered as the sound of sirens could be heard in the distance. Maddy glanced back for a moment before looking back at you and seeing your lifeless eyes staring up at her.
“Wait, wait, wait!” She lifted you into her arms, cradling you just like she had done when you were a babe. “Hey! Someone help! Please, someone!”
She rocked you side to side, hoping that it would wake up up as she tucked your face in her neck. “Don’t do this me, Y/n,” she whispered. “Please don’t leave me.”
Bottles surrounded the coffee table with a drunk Maddy’s feet knocking a few over. The left over contents from some spilling onto the carpet, but she couldn’t care enough. Her eyes fixated on the screen of the movie you two used to watch all the time.
Sipping from her new bottle of beer with her vision wobbling. Head lulling side to side as she tried to steady herself to he best possibility. Hearing that familiar deep hum emerge from the speakers of the TV. Heart aching even more with a new wave of tears brimming in Maddy’s eyes. Besides your room she hadn’t dared to touch, this one of the only reminders of you.
It was late at night and Maddy had just gotten into bed. On the brink of passing out until she felt the shift in her bed. Looking over her shoulder to find her 8 year old daughter sliding into the sheets.
“Hey, honey.”
You opted for a hum, which made Maddy raise a brow and turn over. Wrapping an arm around you and pulling you flush to her chest. “Couldn’t sleep?”
She earned another hum in response. As tired as she may have been, Maddy had promised you when you were 6 that if she had trouble sleeping, she would sing you your favorite songs. She would easily admit that she cared more about your well-being then her own.
So, she softly pulled you away just enough she could look into those beautiful eyes of yours. A small smile on her lips as she tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear. “Do you remember how the song goes?”
That made a large smile appear on your lips as you nodded. “Yup!”
The sheer look of excitement had Maddy letting out a soft chuckle. Hand resting on your cheek and stroking her thumb across your cheek bone soothingly. “I have crossed the horizon to find you.”
Although you were adorably slightly off queue with her, Maddy continued. “I know your name,” she sang softly. “They have stolen the heart from inside you. But this does not define you.”
When you first heard the song, you had made the surprising observation of connecting it with your mom’s and dad’s past relationship. It had damn near brought tears to Maddy’s eyes as she nodded in agreement and spent most of that night talking about the man. Nothing venomous leaving hers or your lips. Just pure sorrow of what could’ve been.
“This is not who you are.” A smile formed on Maddy’s lips as she nodded towards you.
With a large adorable smile, you sang, “You know who you are.”

Part Two and Final Part
Words 2900
Maddy cared for the ones around her. Like, really cared for them even if they did something despicable. Because in her heart, she’d always have a soft spot for them. That’s why she had even decided to continue to stay with Nate through all his fuck ups and toxic behavior leaving her empty and disgusted with herself. Because she did truly love him from the deepest part of her heart. No one would ever be able to understand it.
She held them all close as they were the people she’s been around since she started school. Their familiarity became a comfort to her and a safe haven where she could go to. The open ocean that was the world didn’t scare her, but it was the unpredictability that scared her. How anything could come back at her and destroy her. Or the people she may meet might hurt her more than she’s already been hurt. And Maddy was too young to feel any more pain.
But it was her own decisions that landed her in the position she found herself in. Sitting on the edge of her bed, staring fearfully at the pregnancy test in her grasp. Tears streaming down at the little plus sign; she was pregnant with Nate’s kid. Life couldn’t have been any more than that.
No. She was wrong because nothing could’ve been crueller than Nate Jacobs. The bastard who put her in this position. This position where now she had a person growing in her womb, soon to come into this world with her help. Her child.
So, when she arrived at Nate’s house, she expected the worst. Would he even be excited? Likely not considering the asshole didn’t have a single bone in his body related to the feeling. And this was a child they were talking about. A kid that had their own flesh and blood with their DNA's intermingled together. Woven to take Maddy’s and Nate’s best and worst qualities to make them a perfectly unique human.
“I’m pregnant.” The confession was followed by a deathly silence. A shiver ran up Maddy’s body as Nate slowly turned to her. She should take off running. Never let him know the truth and never give him the satisfaction of even getting to soak up the information and possibility of having his own kid.
But his response was a laugh as he walked into the bathroom. “No, you’re not.”
Denial. The first thing Maddy had expected. “Well, this says I am.” She pulled out the pregnancy test and showed it to him. Nate stared at it for a good few seconds. Swallowing the lump in his throat as his eyes flickered up to Maddy who had tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Did you test multiple times?”
“Yes, Nate,” she spat, her emotions suddenly having spiked. “I tested again, and again. I still got positive.”
“It’s not mine.” Maddy stared at him dumbfounded by such a claim. It was his. Who else would she have been fucking if it wasn’t his? She made every guy that she slept with wear a condom and Nate sure didn’t listen to her. It was like he was wanting her in this situation where she was in constant fear.
She wasn’t ready to be a parent. No one her age would be. There was money involved, responsibilities that someone like her wasn’t prepared for, and there was just taking care of a kid. She also didn’t want to be the laughing stock at school. Known as the teen mother. And whoever had been called that, she gave them respect as that was a hard thing to carry.
But Maddy? Nope, that wasn’t for her. “What the hell do you mean it’s not yours?” She barked. “I think you forget Nate, but we fuck, all the time.”
“And you slut around, so maybe go talk to the guys who you’ve fucked recently,” he told her. “Or get a fucking abortion, I don’t care. The kid is not mine so get the fuck out.”
And she did. Maddy left the house, got into her car and broke down into a sobbing mess. Driving all the way home, hating herself for putting herself in such a situation with Nate. Damn well knowing that after choking her, he wouldn’t ever want to share a domestic life with her. But did she ever want that in the first place? Like really, Nate? She would rather get married to Rue than have a life with Nate.
When she got home, she thought long and hard about all her options. She couldn’t tell her parents. They would surely kill her if she did and likely kill Nate after she tells them how he reacted. She didn’t want to tell any of her friends since their reactions would range from happy for her to downright disgusted. But that what’s she believed at least.
Then there was one final one. Abortion. No one would even have to know. It could be a complete secret for just her and Nate. He wouldn’t even have to accompany her to have it done. She could go on her own as this was her body and the babe growing in her body. She would be freed by this responsibility and could live her teen years in complete bliss. Do the things that the rest of the kids could and not be the odd one out of everyone.
But as Maddy stared at her belly in the mirror, she felt the weight of a thousand bricks on her shoulders. How could she take a life? Because that’s what she was doing. She was taking her baby's life because she didn’t know what to do with herself. She wanted to be a mother, but this was sooner than she was comfortable with. But how would she know if it was a bad choice? What if, somewhere down the line, she couldn’t get pregnant? This might be the only chance she has at having a child of her own and raise.
Maddy had told her parents, and they had been surprisingly happy for her. Her mother supported her especially by guiding her through the motions and what to expect. While her father, despite him being a drunk, promised to get a job to support her financially. And pushing away her doubt, she thanked him and her mother.
Each day, some part of Maddy grew with excitement for this baby. But there was even a tinier part of her that was regretful. Constantly wondering if it was too late for the abortion. If she could just take back everything and just save herself. But she pushed those thoughts away constantly. Determined that this child, this baby girl would come into the world and would be hers. And Nate wouldn’t ever be allowed to come into arm's length of her.
But she wished he was there comforting her. Helping her in any way he could. She thought that maybe he would still support her, despite all the damage he’s caused her. And perhaps she had been wishing upon a star.
“It’s hard, you know?” Maddy wiped profusely at her cheeks. “Like, how am I supposed to raise her without her father? And then, he’s fucked me up so much, I don’t even know why I care.”
Jules sat beside her, wrapping an arm quickly around Maddy’s shoulder and pulling the Perez girl into her side. She had been told about Maddy’s pregnancy only a few hours ago. Immediately coming to support Maddy and congratulate her. Now, she was needed for emotional support and she was more than willing to give it to make Maddy smile or reassure her constant conflicting thoughts.
There was a long pause between them. The cold night breeze brushed past them as Jules grabbed the right words from her mind. “It’s because you love him,” she said. “You don’t think you’ll be able to do this without him.”
Maddy sniffled as she snuggled deeper into Jules’s side. “But you can do anything without him, Maddy,” Jules assured softly. “You are one of the strongest girls I know and there isn’t anything you can’t do.”
Her words came as a grounding weight for Maddy. Helping her get day by day with this baby progressively growing in her. And with the constant texting, asking how she was doing, if she needed help with anything, it helped Maddy greatly. Even when she went into the hospital, crying out in pain, Jules was waiting outside the room. Waiting eagerly to be there for Maddy at her beck and call.
And when that baby was cleaned up and held out for Maddy, she felt her entire being taken away from her. Not in a bad way, but being transferred to her baby girl, her Y/n. Y/n was her entire world and nothing would ever change that.
Word quickly got around about the baby being brought into the world and Maddy was bombarded with congratulation from her friends. Sure, there were the very few who gave her disgusted looks, especially men. But she couldn’t find a reason to care. Her heart and soul were devoted to the you that she held in her arms every day.
So, it came as a surprise to her when the abrupt burden of taking care of you hit her. That super high feeling of excitement and booming love suddenly dropping put her in some form of depression. Continuously staying up at night, crying her eyes out at the fact that she could screw everything up. Or that if she was unfit to be a mother, you could be taken away from her. She couldn’t imagine a life without you. Which only pushed her past her limits, causing her to break down more than usual.
Isn’t that funny? So little time was spent with you in her arms and she was already so scared of losing the little bundle of joy that you are. The little light in her life. Her little love. The one thing that she would always take into account when she made decisions. She was so young but acting so mature.
And it was like your presence alone was able to wash away her worries and fears. Holding you until you fell asleep in her bed. Your tiny hands holding her finger for dear life. God, her heart swelled every time she saw it. You were her everything.
As time went on, and you grew, her aching heart and tired past still held onto her back. But you could numb it all just by that toothless smile. “C’mon, sweetheart,” Maddy encouraged with a large grin on her face. She sat on the ground across from you, mirroring her position as you stared at her. “Crawl to me, baby.”
It took a few moments, but you moved onto your hands and knees and crawled towards her. Maddy’s lips parting, the corners tilted into an awestruck smile. You climbed into her lap and rested your back against her front. “Good job, Y/n.”
She handed you the giraffe plushy that you bit down on. A giggle escaped her lips as she looked up at Rue and Jules, who watched with warm smiles. They’d decided to swing by and visit for a little. Mainly because Rue hadn’t seen you and she had to endure Jules revving on and on about you.
Rue crouched down in front of you, squinting scrutinizingly as you looked up at her with wide eyes. Plushy falling from your lips. “So, you’re what my girlfriend is talking about all the time, huh?” Rue mused. “I don’t appreciate stealing her attention. It’s supposed to be on me.”
That earned a light slap and gasp from Jules as Rue looked up at her, offended. “What?” She asked. “I was just messing around. She’s adorable and I can see why you can’t stop talking about her.”
Maddy grinned, looking down at you as you grabbed her thumbs and began to tap them together. “She’s going to be a lady killer.”
“How do you know she won’t like men?” Jules asked.
“Oh, men are disgusting,” Maddy scoffed. “She’ll understand when I tell her all about them,” she pauses, “when she’s older.”
“I mean, we could start now. It would be for good- I was kidding, again!”
There had been countless nights where the two of you sat on Maddy’s bed. She didn’t say anything, just watched you babble random incoherent words as you played with your toys. A permanent smile on her lips in complete and utter admiration. But as she stared at you, she could see the faintest similarities you shared with Nate. And it hurt her so damn much. More than most would realize was capable. She was practically holding on half the time from wanting to sob her eyes out in fear.
You were beautiful. There wasn’t any debate against that, but she could make out the dimples on your cheeks every time you smile. The closely similar birthmark on your back. It was the faint things about you that reminded her of him. She knew it wasn’t your choice. She also knew that if you were old enough and understood what he had done to her, you would hate yourself for even being his daughter let alone having resembling qualities. And it scared her that, possibly, you could take his personality in a sense. A dangerous person who hurt the ones he loved to stay in control of things in his life.
Which is why she was so happy to remember the first time she showed a picture of him to you, you immediately pushed it away. It gave her a reassuring feeling that you already didn’t like him. Or it may have been the fact that her phone had been blocking you from seeing The Looney Toons from playing on Jules’s laptop. But she liked to think you hated him.
“Mama.”
That single word had Maddy’s eyes widening, freeing her from her daunting thoughts and looking at you. You sat there staring at her like you could sense her pain. Like you could read her thoughts about your father and wanting to help her forget the boy.
Her eyes watered up with tears as she leaned in closer. “What did you say?”
You parted your lips, trying to find the right syllables. “Ma…ma,” you said with a tiny hiccup.
Maddy felt her bottom lip tremble. Unable to contain the giddy laugh that escaped her with a choked cry. “I love you so much, Y/n.” She didn’t hesitate to try and hide her tears by tickling you. Laughing softly at the giggles and laughter that left you.
Lifting you into her arms where she held you close, never wanting to ever let go of you. Willing to risk life and limb to keep you here with her, no matter the cost. And you seemed to feel it because you grabbed a handful of her shirt as you slowly drifted to sleep.
“She’s so adorable, Maddy,” Lexi gushed, watching you crawl towards the bowling balls. Maddy had decided on taking you and the rest of the girls out bowling. You were getting bored of the house, she could tell by your constant sleeping. So, she wanted to bring you out to lighten that wonder in your life. Make you excited for what else might be waiting for you now and when you get older.
“She is,” Maddy agreed, looking at Lexi. About to speak before her heart seized. “Holy shit, Maddy! Look!”
Turning her head, her heart seized up seeing you standing up beside Rue who only stood a few feet away from you. A look of surprise on the Bennett as well as she looked up at Maddy, unsure if she was the only one seeing it.
“Go to, mama.” Hearing Rue say, Mama, you instinctively turned around and faced Maddy. Smiling widely when seeing your mom quickly kneel to the ground with her arms held out for you. Waddling shakily towards her as she let out a sob of happiness.
When you reached her arms, she scooped you up and spun you around. Smiling ear to ear hearing your weightless laughs that filled the bowling alley. Holding you in her arms, you continued to smile, playing with her hair as Rue came over with the same type of smile. Much different from the first time you two met with the look of shock that you had, you reached out and touched her cheek. Your tiny finger gently patting her cheek. Earning a giggle from Rue, who stared at you adoringly.
You had managed to burrow yourself into each person you met. Your beaming smile and joyful nature were the most beautiful things anyone had ever seen. But it was that time went by and you seemed to be changing everything Maddy thought life could be.
She believed that when you came into this world, you would be this burden that she wouldn’t be able to escape. An ever-growing weight on her shoulders that would be there until she met her end. But right when she thought she might crumble under that weight, you caught her. When she thought that she didn’t know what to do, you taught her. No matter the weight of her thoughts or responsibilities, you made it all worth it. Her little love.

What about a adult black dad reader who’s like a sports guy and adult maddie, and their kid is like the best on the soccer team. And them being hot parents and shit and everybody’s jealous of their relationship. And their kid is really cool and has good taste in music yk? Sorry if this is a weird request.
I hope you don’t mind, but I changed the sport. Everything is practically the same besides this one change.

“Sasha, you gotta follow through on that!”
Your daughter panted, hands resting on her knees with her body doubled forward. Chest rising and falling in a repetitive manor that caused her chest to tighten with each breath. Sweat beating down her forehead and arms that slightly trembled from the extensive workout. Unsure if she wanted to walk over and strangle her dad or simply be grateful that he was always more than willing to help teach her. She did ask him to help her work on her fundamental's, hadn’t she?
None of her friends had gotten back to her to come and workout, so you were her last choice, and there was a reason for that. It wasn’t anything terribly bad. You just had a tendency to work her to her last atom and on the brink of passing out. But she should’ve expected much considering you played this sport back in Highschool and College.
The sound of Tyler The Creator’s voice boomed through her JBL speaker in the corner of the gym. Looking up, Sasha watched you bounce the ball before tucking the basketball under your arm. Walking towards her and opening your hands, a dead giveaway that your daughter should be prepared to just listen what you had to say.
“When you start driving through the paint, you get scared of people who are taller than you,” you explained. “I towered over you, hands up and everything, ready to contest the shot. But you just throw away the ball or put up a lousy shot because you don’t know what to do.”
“Well, it’s not my fault I got the shitty genes for height.” The girl huffed, placing her hands on her hips.
“I heard that!” Maddy’s voice filled the gym, both basketball players turning to see the woman walking in with a bag of food and drinks. “Consider that being one of the good things because you get your ungratefulness from you father.” She teased.
You let out a scoff. “I’m never ungrateful.”
Sasha rolled her eyes, walking towards her mother, who situated herself on one of the many chairs in the basketball gym. Your brows furrowed together as you didn’t get a response, quick to follow your daughter. “I’m not!”
Ignoring your comment, Maddy pulled out her own bottle of water and took a sip. “But he’s right, Sasha,” she pointed out. “You always toss the ball away when things don’t seem to be on your side.”
“Well, I try, but some of those girls are freakishly tall and aggressive half the fuckin’ time.” She sat herself down on one of the chairs, silently thanking her mother for the water. “I’m not a fucking god or anything.”
The comment had Maddy glancing at you, and you knew that one look better than anyone. Maddy used to give it to you whenever you put yourself down back in Highschool during a workout. Sometimes, it was hard for you to realize how good you truly were at something. In short terms, you were a perfectionist at everything you tried to do and basketball was one of those things.
You had been the best on your team and was even a D1 prospect. But, you didn’t feel as good as most saw you. Thankfully, you had Maddy there to make you see the truth and support you every day. Now, it seemed Sasha had taken up your worst trait and now Maddy was expecting you to take the role of being the support. After all, you were the specialist in this field, not Maddy. She’d only taken some things away from the years of you playing in Highschool and College.
Looking at your daughter, you could see that she thinking of all her imperfections with the game. It was noticeable by her thin brows knitting together, the tiniest movement of her lips, silently muttering curses at herself. Much to the same things you used to do when you were younger.
Sniffling, you started bouncing the basketball. The repetitive crackle of the ball hitting the floor filled the gym. Sasha glanced up at you, finding your eyes to fixated on her. “Stand up.”
She wanted to protest. Tell you how tired she was and to give her a little more time to breathe, but she knew better. So, she stood up and followed you to the center of the court.
Once there, you crossed the ball back and forth behind your back. Grinning when Sasha gave you a confused look. But behind those baby blue eyes, you could see the curiosity stirring. “I’m going to pass you the ball and you’re going to drive it towards the net.”
Sasha raised a brow, lips curling into a smile with a shrug. “All right, then.”
Passing her the ball, Sasha ran towards the net. Leaping up to lay the ball up, but all that could be heard a second later was a loud slap that filled the air. When she landed on her two feet, she frowned and turned around to see you standing under the net now with the ball in hand. A taunting look on your face as you spun the ball on your index finger.
“Again.”
Again, she did the same thing and the ball ended up back in your hands. Each time she went through it, the same thing happened. It was safe to say that Sasha was growing angrier after each time. Occasionally bumping shoulders with you as she snatched the ball from your hand.
She wasn’t known to be as emotional as anyone else her age. Sasha was always so calm and reserved with a lot of the things she did. With the popularity she had with her last name and her two extremely attractive parents, a lot of people expected her to be overly emotional and get what she wanted. But she was so different from you and Maddy, that the fact that she showed any vulnerability scared you guys sometimes.
But on the last try, when that ball was taken from her grasp, she felt her walls crumble. Knees folding underneath her as she broke down into sobs. When Maddy got to her feet, ready to go over and comfort her daughter, you stopped her. Shaking your head, and Maddy listened. But she stayed standing, ready to run over to her daughter at the chance that she might be needed.
Sasha lulled her head back, knees brought to her chest as she rapidly wiped her cheeks to hide the fact that she was crying. But it was already too late when you crouched down in front of her.
“Do you know why I made you run that simple drill?” You mused.
The teen blew a raspberry, blinking rapidly. “I don’t know, ‘cause your an asshole.”
You let out a low rumble of a laugh as you nodded. “Yes, but other than that.”
She stayed silent for a moment, hoping that she could find the right answer. “Sasha, stop thinking so hard about it.” She looked up at you, finding nothing but pure love in your expression. “Just say what you feel might be the answer.”
Doing as she was told, she shrugged slightly. “You wanted me to see something.”
“What did you see every time you did that drill?”
Glancing back towards the court, replaying the multitude of repeats and coming up on nothing. Bowing her head with another tiny shrug that you replied with a soft sigh.
Shifting to sit beside her, you wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “Every time we ran that drill, you were faster than me to the net,” you explained. “You could make the exception that I am old and I don’t have the same speed as I once did, but you beat me to that net every single time. Most of the time, I barely just made it there in time to get the ball from your hands.”
“Is this suppose to help?”
“Sasha, don’t be a smartass and just listen, alright?” The girl pursed her trembling lips as you pressed a kiss to her temple. “You are faster than everyone else on your team. You know that, I know that, and your mom knows that. Use it to your advantage. Use your speed to blow by me or pull me out of the paint so you can get a clear lane to basket. You are smart enough to do all of this, but you keep getting stuck in here-”
A caramel toned finger pressed to her temple and Sasha nibbled on the inside of her cheek. “Once you get out of your head, you will be able to fully realize how amazing you are at this.”
You didn’t wait for another response before you stood up and offered a hand for Sasha to take. There was a brief moment of hesitance before she reluctantly took it. Meanwhile, Maddy stood anxiously watching the both of you walk to the center of the court once again.
“Use what you know against me,” you told her. “Just make sure I don’t get the ball from you.”
Sasha took a deep breath, before nodding. With one last moment of silence, you passed her the ball. Immediately, Sasha was running towards the net with the rapid beat of the ball hitting the wooden floor. You footsteps could be heard close behind and all she could hear as soon as she jumped to lay it up.
Instead of doing the normal layup, she switched it to her left hand and flicked it up onto the left corner of the white painted box. She hit the ground with a grunt and spun around to watch the ball fall through the net. A large grin formed on her lips with a yelp slipping past her lips, body being hoisted up.
“That’s my girl!” You yelled. “See what I mean? You use that for lazy warm up’s, but you can use that on someone who is bigger than you or on a fast break. You have everything you need Sasha, it just depends on how you’re going to use it, baby.”
The three of you exited the gym soon after that. Getting dressed before getting settled in the car. “Thank you for helping her.” Maddy smiled. “If anyone could get through to her, it was you.”
You smiled, leaning over and kissing her on the lips before Sasha leaned between the seats and shoved both of you apart. “Enough kissing and let me turn this up.” Her sepla toned hand turned the dial, alerting you of Boredom from Tyler, The Creator beginning to play. A smile forming on your lips as you pulled out of the parking lot. Car being filled with three voices singing the lyrics and Sasha rapping Tyler’s verse.
If there was anything that you knew, it was the fact that you were gifted with a daughter who would be better than you in every aspect. And you were just happy to see her grow into something amazing.

Part One - Final Part
Words 3158
Sasha hated to admit it, but she never saw much of what everyone saw in her. The praise never really inflated her ego, and it didn’t exactly encourage her to improve. Yes, she was amazing at Basketball and had been playing it for as long as she could walk, but she couldn’t see what you or her mother saw. Often times brushing off the pair’s praises during supper or training. Even when she and East Highland team continued to win games back to back consecutively. Leading them to be in the running of winning the championship.
But what she did see and feel was the massive weight be placed on her shoulders. Which led to countless nights of a sleepy Maddy accompanying her to the gym and watch her put up shots and do sprints. Having your support whenever she got home to help her study plays and tapes that you had taken of the team she would be going up against.
And through it all, both you and Maddy were there to stand by her side. Willing to make time out of your guys’ day to help her be prepared. She doesn’t think she ever truly showed how grateful she was for the constant support you two gave her.
Tonight though, she couldn’t focus on that. Especially with the anxiety that clouded and stung the inside of her stomach like venom. Ready to strike at any moment and cause her to throw up the small supper she had only an hour ago. Sasha always had this happen to her before every game she did. But this had her ready to instantly run away from this and leave it to her team mates to handle.
Spotting her hesitance, you placed a hand on her back and walked with her towards the gym where the sound of music blasting could be heard, with the faint out of beat rhythm of basketballs hitting the ground.
“Now, I know you’re anxious-”
“That’s putting it lightly, dad.” Sasha huffed.
“And I know you have a crush on Lexi’s kid, Jasmine, right?” Immediately, Sasha was already not liking where this conversation was going. Primarily ‘cause of the barely noticeable smirk that was on your lips when mentioning her crush.
“So, we invited her to come and watch you win- OW!”
You folded over, dropping to your knees with a groan, Sasha taking the chance to run away. But she couldn’t make it far before Maddy restrained her. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“My team can handle the game.”
“Sorry to break it to you honey, but your teammates fucking suck.” Sasha nearly laughed. At least her mother was being honest about it. “And you sure as hell aren’t leaving after punching your dad in the balls. No matter how funny it was.”
The both of them looked at you, smirking when finding you on the tiled floor. Reassuring a few dad’s that knew you from Highschool, coming up ask if you were okay. With you casually telling them that Sasha sacked you, which only earned a laugh in response before they carried on with their night.
“But you this fear you have isn’t going to be there the entire time,” Maddy reassured in her usual sweet motherly voice that made Sasha melt. “If anything, it makes you strive to do better than most. So, with us being here and Jasmine being here only gives you more of a reason to go out onto that court and make sure everyone knows this is what you’ve been training for.”
Sasha had held her breath during the entire speech her mother had just given her. Unable to restrain the large giddy smile that formed on her lips, arms shooting around her mothers neck and pulling her into a tight squeeze that was borderline suffocation. But Maddy didn’t mind, instead, she smiled and wrapped her arms around Sasha and kissed her cheek.
“Go out there and make me and your dad proud,” you muttered. “As well as Jasmine.”
“Mom.”
“Ok, ok,” Maddy laughed. “I’ll stop. But you’ve got this. No reason to be anxious. This is like any other game you’ve played, all right? Everyone knows you’ll do your absolute best.”
The girl smiled and nodded, beginning to walk away just in time with you finally getting to your feet. Hissing at the pain at the apex between your thighs. Mind focused on the pain you hadn’t even acknowledged the soft peck on the cheek you received from your daughter.
“Love you, Dad.”
“Love you too, sweetheart.” You leaned forward, hands resting on your knees, letting out slow and soothing breaths to try and ease the pain.
A soft pat on your back belonged to your wife, who found your distress far more amusing than humanly possible. Sometimes, you could mistaken the beautiful and enticing woman for a demon waiting eagerly to see you in immense pain.
“If I knew she punched that hard,” you groaned, “I would’ve set her up for boxing classes.”
“I’ll tell you what,” Maddy chuckled. “If you’re feeling a better by the time we get home, than you can call in sick tomorrow.”
The innuendo wasn’t hard to decipher and left you feeling a second wave of energy shoot through you. Standing up and straightening your posture with an arm wrapping tightly around her waist. Maddy only grinning at the feeling of your hand tensing around her hip as the two of you walked into the gym, showcasing the tiniest amount of affection.
“I mean, we could do it how we used to back in the good ol’ days.” You grinned. “You remember? Sneak out of class, find one another in the janitor’s closet-” You lowered your lips to her ear, teeth nipping at the shell. “-where I would fuck you stupid.”
Maddy brought her bottom lip into her mouth, hiding the grin that wanted to form as the both of you passed the fellow parents of Sasha’s teammates. Having noticed the hungry gazes they held for her husband, and she was more than willing to show them that you were off limits. Even if her methods may seem a bit inappropriate during this certain setting.
Seating yourselves on the benches with other’s, she did the classic move she knew had always worked on you, and that was to sit on your thigh. Pretty normal, but you knew exactly how possessive Maddy got when it came to you, and she wasn’t new to the constant flirty gazes the other parents sent your way or the hushed words they shared with one another about you.
So, when Maddy met Cassie’s eyes that had been boring into you for the past 2 minutes, she rocked her hips forward. And on instinct, you grabbed ahold of Maddy’s hips to stop her, but kept a hand high on one of her thighs. Showing the fearlessness you had when it came to giving your wife the pleasure she undoubtably deserved.
It seemed to work as Cassie looked away, finally paying attention to whatever Nate had been talking about. But one pair of eyes that had seen the whole thing and felt her cheeks heat up was Sasha, letting out a groan of disgust. “I’m sleeping with my headphones on tonight.”
Her eyes flickered away from her parents and landed on Lexi. She smiled, but felt her legs get a bit wobbly at the sight of Jasmine wearing an eager grin. In a brief moment of confidence, Sasha gave a wave and was returned with one by the enchanting girl who always helped her with her homework.
There was a brief section in time when warm up’s started with both Sasha’s team and the opposing team doing mini drills that they do during practice. The entire time, you watched with a keen eye, ready to tell her the tiniest of mistakes she may make and keep in mind when the game starts.
But what you hadn’t expected was Sasha’s coach to come up the bleachers and greet you. It wasn’t anything new though, the man had been your coach when you had been in school and you were sure this was his final year before retirement. “Y/n!” He exclaimed. “Can I ask a huge favor from you? It’s ok if you say no.”
“What’s up, coach?” You smiled, patting Maddy’s thigh to motion her to sit beside you, which reluctantly did, still feeling like women would be staring at you the entire time.
The old man propped his foot up onto the bleachers you sat on and sighed with a clip board in hand. “I’m going to be honest,” he started. “I don’t think I can coach tonight. I have this massive migraine and my back is killing me.”
“If you’re asking me to coach the team for this game, than I am already on board.” You, understandably, had been wanting to coach Sasha’s team since she turned 13. From what you had learned from your daughter’s nightly rants, the team needed a fresh pair of hands and mind to slip up into top shape. But you had decided to stay away simply because of the fact that you didn’t want to try and force yourself even more into Sasha’s basketball life than you already were. But tonight, the championship game, you were more than keen to take this offer up.
The coach let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Y/n. You do not know how much this means to me.”
After bidding a few short goodbye’s, you had made you way down the court. Sitting down at the chair’s where the East Highland’s water bottles rested. Already tracing out plays onto the papers attached to the clipboard. Even when the buzzer went off, alerting that warm up’s were done and that the game would be starting soon, you continued to draw.
The girl huddled in around you, none speaking out about the sudden change in coaches, especially your daughter. If anything, she was more reassured as she was sure her coach would have a heart attack sooner or later.
Clapping the pen against the clipboard, you sighed and looked up at all the teenagers. “All right, this is going to be an easy game, you guys just don’t realize it,” you began. “When we win the tip off, I want Ash to move and post up at the top of the key. Sasha, if you can’t get it to her, then I expect a nice screen from you, Ashley. That’s an easy lay up. If that fails, dish it out to one of the corners, but then I want you guys to pull your defenders away from the net.”
Most seemed hesitant on the idea, besides Sasha, which gave you the insight needed to realize that most of these girls weren’t used to a D1 player coaching them these types of plays. And to be fair, this wasn’t even that complicated.
“Listen, you all might be nervous, but trust me I will get you guys this win.” You stood to your feet. “Trust in me. Trust that I won’t let any shitty call the ref makes pass without me nearly tearing the guys head off, alright? I’m here for all of you and I’m going to stand by you all.”
Something in the air changed. Whatever hesitance that had been stirring in their bones or their nerves that been flaring since they stepped into this gym, had suddenly disappeared. So, with this new found state of extreme confidence, you placed your hand in the center of the small huddle.
“Highland on three,” you said. “One, two, three-!”
“Highland!” They all cheered before they made their way onto the court.
“Call your checks girls!” You told them. “I don’t want to see any of these fuckers open by the time we get the ball!”
Your use of vulgar language had earned a few harsh looks from the opposing teams parents, making you raise a hand in a sign of saying ‘sorry’. But if anyone knew you, they knew that you meant every word you said when it came to this sport. Especially now with you stepping up to the plate of coaching these girls. There was just as much weight on your shoulders as theirs.
As expected, when tip off happened, Ashley had managed to win it, knocking the ball back to Sasha, who slowly dribbled it up the court. You yelling out the reminder of the play, and they quickly set up. Just as you had explained it, Ashley couldn’t get the ball, so she set a screen against the girl guarding Sasha. In response, Sasha faked going left before blowing by to the side and made an easy layup.
“That’s what I am talking about, girls!” You yelled. “Keep that shit up!”
Each possession seemed to improve one after the other. Despite Sasha being a bit rusty at the start, she slowly started heating up. You could only compare her speed, dribble moves, and mind games to something like a magician. The girls also seemed to be feeding off that same energy because Ashley was bodying everyone in the paint, getting rebounds and putting it back up, with Lillian who was the power forward was frequently ready for the ball and she was knocking down her shots.
But on one specific possession, Kelly, the shooting guard, had started to drive in the net. Mid air, one of the opposing players had practically tackled her out of the air, and the impact of Kelly’s body hitting the floor made you wince. “Keep that same energy, bitch!” The girl had yelled at Kelly, who rolled onto her stomach, fist slamming against the court.
It took only a moment later before the whistle was blown and you were rushing onto the court, pointing at the other teams coach then the girl responsible for the attack. “Get this little shit off the court!” You yelled. “Sasha, check if Kelly is okay!”
Most of the girl huddled around Kelly, ready to help the girl, who was sobbing in pain on the ground. Whilst you were walking towards the ref who announced it to be a foul.
“Are you serious?” You exclaimed. “Did you not see what the girl did? She fucking close lined my player!”
“Hey, watch what you say about my daughter, asshole!” A voice yelled from the bleachers.
“What the fuck are you going to do about it, huh?” You questioned. “Teach your kid how to play ball! This ain’t wrestling, playboy!”
Before anything more could be exchanged, Sasha was quick to start pushing you towards the bench and sitting you down beside Kelly. Your anger stirred, but was overcome by worry as you were quick to start aiding the girl with an icepack. Muttering soft words with the girls parents coming over to see if she was okay.
“Sasha, c’mere.” The girl did as told, jogging over and leaning down slightly as you glanced over your shoulder momentarily at the rest of the players. Wiping the sweat from caramel skin and sighed. “No bars. Beat these kids asses. Get in their heads. Shut their shit down and give them no reason to stay.”
Sasha couldn’t help the smirk that formed on her lips, patting your back before making her way back onto the court. Adjusting the hem of her shorts as she waited for the ball to be inbounded. When it was, Sasha slowly strolled up the court. But just as she made it past the logo, she pulled up and shot the ball. Effortlessly, it swished and the crowd blew up in cheers. But she simply grinned, shrugging at the other team.
“Y’all ain’t shit!” She yelled. “You all are just a bunch of pussy ass bitches! This is my house! You on my turf now, motherfucker!”
This energy carried out through the game with Sasha making the occasional comments that would be far more vulgar than anything you had said tonight so far. Dribbling the ball with so much precision that you were left confused when she somehow blew past the defenders. She even used the move when you both had been at the gym.
After one of the shots, she got in her defenders face and nodded, grinning wickedly. But her words were drowned out by the crowd cheering in pure excitement. Although, you knew it must’ve been good considering the other player shoved her back, ready to start fighting, but the players from both teams were quick to stop any scuffle from happening.
There had even been a few times where you had been yelling at the other teams coach, and when Sasha immediately broke her defender’s ankles, you turned to coach and pointed at your daughter. “That’s my kid and she’s making your entire team look like a shit show!”
Maddy had even nearly got into a fight with a parent for saying some shit about Sasha. Which had ended up with Maddy being escorted out of the gym to wait outside. Everyone truly seeing the display the love you two had for your daughter and this team as a whole.
And it felt like minutes later that the buzzer went off, signaling the game was over. You hadn’t even been paying attention to score to realize that, because of Sasha, you guys had been 20 points ahead. An easy win that you had easily predicted. Allowing yourself to enjoy the win by giving the girl’s the trophy and letting them take pictures with you deciding to wait outside the gym with your wife.
When Sasha inevitably emerged from the locker room, you were engulfed in a hug. “Thank you so much!”
“Don’t thank me,” you said. “You should be thanking your team. You made them seem worse then they actually were, sweetheart.”
“They only did good because of you.” Sasha shrugged. “Ever consider becoming a coach full time?” You let out a soft laugh and gave a shrug in response.
Before the conversation could proceed any further, Maddy spotted Lexi and Jasmine emerging from the gym. “How about you spend the night at your girlfriends place?”
The comment made Sasha blush, ready to retort, but you cut in. “I wouldn’t even be surprised if she asked you out,” you commented. “She’d been giving you heart eyes the entire game.”
“We’ll swing by later and drop off some clothes,” Maddy added. “Give you two some alone time.”
Sasha gave up at that point as she watched the both of you turn away, hand in hand. “I love you!” She called out.
“We love you too, sweetheart!” Maddy said.
“And good job tonight!” You added over your shoulder. “You deserved this win!”
As weird, spontaneous, and downright gross you two could be, she loved you two more than anything in the world. Her life would be a boredom if she didn’t have you two, the best parents in the world.

The pounding of wrapped fists slamming into a punching bag filled the empty gym. Grunts coming before each impact the leather bag endured and absorbed. The chain holding it above rattling after each powerful punch. It was music to Laila’s ears.
The eight-year-old held a tight grip on the strap of her workout bag. An eager bounce in her step that made Maddy very knowledgeable to the fact this is one of the very few times she gets to see her daughter extremely excited about something. And in some sort of way, it may have scared her a bit more than she’d like to admit.
Walking up the small flight of stairs, they soon made it to the second floor. The only natural light coming from the windows that lined the wall on the front of the building. Further than 10 feet away, everything was in a faint darkness. But within those shadow’s, Maddy could make out your hulking figure. Your grunts louder now as you punched the bag that swayed and stuttered with each. Chocolate skin covered in droplets of sweat that cascaded down your body.
“Daddy!” The mere mention of the name had you spinning around, grabbing ahold of the punching bag to stop it from swaying.
You smiled at the sight of your daughter running over. “Hey, baby. Why aren’t you at-” You had bent down, ready to give her a hug, but she stopped short.
“Your sweaty.” She grimaced. “Don’t you dare hug me.”
Raising a brow, you looked up at Maddy, who walked over with an amused grin. At least she took something after Maddy. Even if it may hurt a little.
“Well, alrighty then.” You chuckled, standing to your full height. “What are you doing here? I thought you had school.”
“Well, I decided to clear her for most of the day,” Maddy spoke up, “but Laila wants you to come to her last class. She wants you to come to something the rest of the parents are attending. Its for her class.”
A brow was raised in response, looking between both your daughter and girlfriend. “Am I purposely getting left out of conversations now?”
Neither answered, only wearing smiles of amusement, which you despised as there was no so much to those smiles that could mean a million answers to your question. But you grinned at Laila, playfully jabbing her shoulder and nodding further into the gym.
“How about you get a little warm up?” You suggested. “Hit the jump rope for a few minutes and then I’ll wrap your hands and we’ll get into the ring. How does that sound?”
Laila let out a noise that you guessed was excitement before she was sprinting towards the racks of equipment in the corner of the gym. Nearly running into her grandpa, who came out of the back room.
“Woah, watch out, Youngblood,” Ali chuckled. “Put that excitement in those hands, sweetheart.”
The little girl didn’t stop to listen, already grabbing the jump rope after placing her things down. Ali advanced over to you with a proud smile. “She’s so much like her, daddy.”
“That’s what I keep telling, Y/n,” Maddy pointed. “I’m still deciding if I stand for it or if I might have to wheel her away. He wasn’t always the best influence.”
You rolled your eyes, kissing your girlfriends cheek. As ruthless as she could be, you loved her regardless. She was the one to keep you in check when no one else would. And that was what made you love her for it. Because despite all the bullshit you left in your path, every stupid thing you did leading to the present, she kept your shit under control. There was no way for you to ever pay her back for it.
“I just got off the phone with the promoter, the fight is happening,” Ali announced, gaining Maddy’s attention as her lips parted. “We’re looking at 3 months of training considering the fight with McKay was quick and you were barely scratched up.”
Maddy, still in a state of shock, looked at you. “Don’t tell me this is the fight against, Nate?”
The universal question you had been waiting to hear for the past few weeks since you sent the contract in the direction of your opponent. You looked up at her, finding nothing but anger, which made you sigh and look down at you feet. “I told you, Maddy,” you reminded. “This is my last fight and then I’m taking a break. I promised-”
“This isn’t high school, Y/n,” she stressed. “This isn’t some normal hallway brawl. This is real fucking life. We both know that Nate is willing to do anything to hurt you. If that be cheating or if it be doing something outside of the ring. Just call off the fight.”
You wanted to, really, you did. But there was something inside of you that you couldn’t turn off with any other fight. No matter how many people that stepped up to the plate and no matter how many people you put down. Nate was always there, in the back of your mind, taunting you to come and get the title from around his waist.
It made you restless and in return, it made you train harder than you ever have before. Which in return, drove you farther and farther away from you family. This obsession needed to be put to rest either in the ring or outside. And that legal battle wouldn’t end well, no matter how good the lawyers you had were.
And it was your lack of a response that gave Maddy the information she needed. Shaking her head, scoffing before walking out the gym, and you didn’t follow. Instead, you turned your attention to Laila, who was effortlessly increasing the speed of the jump rope.
Turning to Ali, you said, “We start training camp tomorrow,” you told him. “Call everyone that you need to. Best cooks, best trainers, best sparing partners, best everything. Got it?”
The older man raised his hands in surrender as you huffed and walked over to your daughter. Whistling, signaling her to stop and place down the jump rope. You wrapped her hands and slipped her gloves onto her before running her through the usual drills. The both of you trained for a little while, bonding for however long you could.
As soon as time came for the three of you to leave, you all packed up and grabbed your things to head straight for East Highland. And when you arrived, the place you saw hadn’t changed a single bit. It felt like history just flashed behind your eyes and it felt odd.
Walking down the far too familiar halls, pieces of history hung up on the wall, East Highland profusely showing the proudness it held for back then and the present. Even a small minor display of your acknowledgement of everything you’d done for yourself and telling anyone who walked these halls that you used to go to school. Showing your short beginnings to where you were now, a millionaire that punched others for a living.
Proceeding further down the hall, Maddy took your hand in hers. Thumb brushing over your knuckles as Laila excitedly lead the both of you towards her classroom. Entering, there was a chorus of clapping that led you to clap as well, hoping to mask your presence and stay at the back of the room where no one would notice you. Something Laila took into account by telling her teacher to not announce you to be there when you did show up.
“Ah, Laila,” her teacher said. “It’s good for you to finally be joining us. Are you ready for your presentation?”
The little girl nodded in response with her moving up to the front and seating herself on a stool that sat at the front of the room, all eyes now being on her as she fumbled with the script she had made. Eyes momentarily flickering up to yours, finding nothing but curiosity and an encouraging smile on your lips.
With a deep inhale, Laila licked her lips. “My dad is my hero,” she started. “He doesn’t wear a cape and he doesn’t have super powers. But he’s a respectable man that I am special enough to call my daddy.”
Your lips parted. glancing at Maddy, who only offered you a grin. She knew how you could get with this type of thing and she kind of hoped it was enough to get you to take a break from boxing. Call her heartless for using Laila to get what she wanted, but that special little girl seemed to be the only person able to get through to you.
“He’s a fighter for our family and he’s my fighter,” Laila read off. “A man who stays up late at nights to help me with homework. A man who helped me find my love for boxing. So, when people ask me who is my favorite superhero, I tell them my dad is.”
The classroom erupted into people clapping their hands, you included with the addition of tears on the brink of escaping. Laila finally looked up from her paper, smiling brightly at you. That same smile that she gave you when she came into this world. So innocent and fragile, you had promised yourself you would never let her get hurt.
Oh, if only you had known...

Summary: There is so much fight the world throws at you, there is only a matter of time before you break...

Warnings: Just pure, unapologetic angst
Words 3549
“We fight because we have to. It’s how our family was built to survive.”
Those words had been burned into the deepest and darkest parts of your brain. Soon enough, it became everything you stood for. Fighting during school to put down the ones who tried to break you and fight for the ones you loved. It encompassed your life and world to the point where you were blinded by the destruction it caused.
You never wanted this. You never wanted to turn out the way you did. Fighting for your life just to make some money to keep your family living with a full stomach and roof over their head. If you had the chance, you would’ve become a lawyer, a plumber, a fucking salesman. Anything better than risking your life in that ring would’ve sufficed.
But there was something inside you just itching to step inside that ring and create pain for others. Project whatever hate you had into your opponent. It was dark to think about, even for someone like you who had everything to lose. The world champion, a father to an amazing daughter and boyfriend to an amazing wife. You had everything on the table and you could lose it all.
But you couldn’t let it go.
Whatever Maddy had to say about you fighting Nate fell on deaf ears. And Laila was too awestruck by her father to realize the serious danger you were putting yourself in. The genuine risk you were standing in with taking this fight. Nate had won every single fight by dirty boxing and downright cheating. Everyone knew this, but you were still taking this fight and Maddy hated you for it.
She knew there were unresolved feelings you had with the former star football player. The constant bullying you endured and the frequent beatings in the locker room were all you felt from Nate. There wasn’t ever a time you truly felt safe besides that ring. With that and the fact that Maddy had experienced her own pain from Nate, you felt the need to fight for both yours and her past traumas. And it sucked because no matter what she said or did wouldn’t ever convince you to think otherwise.
And as she stood beside you, waiting anxiously for your name to be announced and called to the small stage for the press conference, she was already running through all the possible situations that could occur. Each one left her stomach-churning uncomfortably to the point of nausea. She only had the small reassurance of you having trained days on end for this fight, and that was enough for her to feel the smallest amount of relief.
One of the stage assistants pressed his finger to his earpiece and nodded to whoever spoke on the other end. “Your up, Y/n.”
You nodded, turning to Maddy and smiling softly. “I’ll be back, alright?”
Maddy nodded, forcing a smile and kissing your lips gently before you were walking out of the greenroom and towards the stage. Leaving Maddy to watch on the TV as she heard your name be announced before you were walked on stage. People cheered in excitement as you slid on a pair of Gucci sunglasses and sat in your chair with Ali taking the spot beside you.
You scanned the crowd of journalists with a deadpan. Not even acknowledging the set of cheers as Nate walked out. His whole team is following closely behind him. He wore a rather casual outfit in comparison to your Stuart Hughes suit that cost more than what his last fight earned in paper view sales.
As soon as he took a seat, the mediator leaned toward the mic in front of him. “Thank you all for coming, let’s just get straight into questions.”
The crowd lifted their hands instantly with the man scanning the crowd before pointing to a man. They stood up and faced you. “Y/n, we know you have been trying to make this fight happen for a year now,” the man pointed out. “How does it feel to finally have it happen and get your chance to fight, Nathaniel?”
“Well, it feels great,” you said. “I know he’s been ducking me a majority of the time, fighting these unknowns and talking shit when he doesn’t get enough attention. So, I just decided to be nice and give him a chance to fight for my belt.”
“You know I’ve won all my fights by knockout, right?” Nate cut in with a laugh. “I mean, dude, I’ve been fighting for a lot longer than you. All the unknowns you say I’ve fought are ten times the man you are.”
“Then why don’t you have this belt, Jacobs?” You asked, gripping the mic and looking at him. “Because as far as I am concerned, you haven’t showed enough flair and fairness to actually deserve this belt.”
“That’s not what your girlfriend thought when we were together.”
That set a flame in your heart that spread faster than you expected. So fast that you shot up from your seat and ran at the man. Getting one good punch in with both your team and Nate’s team scrambling to stop any ensuing chaos to go any further. People yelled, screamed, and wrestled to get at either you or Nate. And just as fast as the press conference started, it ended just as quickly.
You should’ve known way before this press conference that there would be some comment about Maddy. It wasn’t hard to tell that even before you stepped into the ring, the fight starts when the both of you faced off. And it seemed that Nate was doing everything to get inside your head, and you should’ve known it would get to you.
“You let him get to you.” Maddy’s observation was one that was so bluntly obvious that it left you annoyed. But you held your tongue, only humming as she fiddled with your suit, fixing it after the scuffle between you and Nate.
Noticing your irritation, Maddy softly pulled you away from the team. Moving you to stand in front of a mirror with her standing beside you. “Do you see the guy staring back at you?” She knew you wouldn’t answer such a dumb rhetorical question, but she continued. “That is your toughest opponent in your life. It’s you against you in everything. I believe that with boxing and I do believe that in life. The only way you can win is if you’re willing to overcome the obstacle you have set for yourself.”
Her hands cupped your face and you found nothing but admiration in her eyes. Lips curled into a soft smile that you had fallen in love with. “And I know you will be able to overcome that hurdle when the time comes,” she said. “Now, let’s go home, baby.”
The both of you were exiting the building, the lobby packed with officials from the boxing world and other celebrities. But as you were making it closer to the exit, you heard a voice, “Hey, Y/n!”
You turned around to come face to face with Nate. Before you could respond, he punched you in the face. But you quickly recovered and punched him back. The same result on stage was occurring in an open area where people were exclaiming for you two to stop and others trying to defuse the situation. Maddy’s voice rang in your ears as you grunted, throwing punches and landing a few when you got the chance.
But a gunshot rang out and your body tensed up. A cold shiver ran down your spine and causing you to push Nate away as you held your breath. Looking down at your body and finding nothing that could signify you were shot. Your ears were ringing, muffling the screams and yells that were filling the air around you. It was only when you noticed the shocked look on Nate’s face and eyes looking past you, did you realize something was very wrong.
When you turned around, you were met by the sight of Maddy sitting on the floor holding her stomach. And that was enough to bring you back to reality and make you rush over. “Hey, hey, hey,” you stammered out. Hands quickly took their place to hold her. “What’s wrong, baby? Hey, what happened?”
She shook her head, brows knitted together in confusion. “I- I don’t know, I just-”
Your hand was wet, drenched in crimson as you felt your heart hammer against your chest like a drum. Chest heaving out pants as you felt your hands begin to tremble. The sound of yells for an ambulance fell on your deaf ears. Eyes frantically flickered across Maddy’s face as she laid in your arms, crying out at the pain of your hand pressing against the wound.
“I know, baby,” you said shakily. “Just hold on, alright? Just breathe, okay?”
“I’m trying,” she sobbed. “I- It hurts, Y/n! It hurts so much!”
“I know, I know.” The faintest sting behind your eyes was appearing. Causing you to blink rapidly, looking around the room to see people panicking, trying to get an ambulance to the scene as soon as possible.
Looking back down at Maddy, you found her head beginning to lull to the side. “Maddy, baby!” She inhaled sharply, eyes tiredly looking back up at you. Coughing with red crimson beginning to stain her glossy lips.
“Oh, no, no, no.” You muttered, quickly wiping it away with your tie and shirt.
“I wanna go home,” she cried. “I wanna go home to Laila. Y/n, please take me home.”
“I’m going to,” you promised. “ We’re going to go home, okay? Just keep your eyes open for me, baby. Please, keep them open.”
As you let out pleas, the light in her eyes was rapidly fading. Maddy groaned as you lifted her closer to you, telling her to keep her eyes open. But in a matter of a second, you felt her cold breath fan your face before she grew heavier in your hold.
“Wait, wait, wait!” You looked up, finding your grandfather’s eyes wide with tears as you sobbed. “No. Maddy, look me in the eye, baby. Don’t do this, baby. Please, don’t do this. Stay awake. Stay with me.”
Your cries could be heard throughout the building with your face buried in her neck. Rocking your body side to side as people watched onward in shock. But all you could think about is when you would get home. When you would have to face the one person you never thought would have to receive such news.
Laila.
Nothing was the same. How could it? The mansion you owned felt colder, quieter than it had already been before. Each area you went to, trying to hide from your daughter’s sorrow, only further reminded you of the woman in the hospital. Her survival and hope of waking up still hanging in the balance. But each day that passed, each day of you trying to do your best for Laila, your hope was slowly dwindling.
For the first time since Laila was born, you weren’t sure if you were suited to be a father. You didn’t know what to do when Laila had her outbursts during dinner. You didn’t understand how to help when it had been Maddy doing a lot of that work. Even when you tried to offer her to go to the gym, she ignored you and kept you in the dark. Only furthering your own problems with your progressive outburst and mental health problems.
How were you supposed to do this without Maddy? Would she ever wake up? Would you ever feel her arms around you again? Fuck, would you ever get to hear her voice? When you thought Nate couldn’t destroy you more than he already had, he took your girlfriend. Leaving you with a daughter who couldn’t even bear to look at you, let alone speak to you. The same could be said for you grandfather, who’d seen how destroyed you were and was repulsed by it.
“Y/n, I am not going to train someone who isn’t fully there,” Ali explained. “I’m not gonna waste my time with you when you won’t even give it your all.”
“What the hell do you mean?” You questioned. “After everything I’ve done for you? You’re just going to leave me like this? How the hell do you know I won’t put my all into this?”
“You can’t even take care of Laila!”
You weren’t entirely sure if you had deserved this. But did anyone deserve this type of treatment? Have everything you loved ripped out from under you? Unable to go outside without being bombarded by paparazzi. What didn’t help was that video footage of the shooting had been leaked online. So, you weren’t even safe inside your household and you couldn’t save Laila from seeing it.
There was nothing more despicable than drinking yourself at dangerous levels, which had become frequent. It was only in those times that you could hear Maddy speaking to you. Whispering all your problems away and giving you momentary comfort from the troubles you were facing. But it only damaged Laila who cried her eyes out, shaking your unconscious body, pleading that you wouldn’t leave her as well.
You didn’t remember those nights. Well, you didn’t remember much of Laila’s cries. Too clouded with the voice of Maddy to want to leave this false reality you had created with booze. In no way were you the same man you once had been. You were broken.
And that only brought on legal problems. When cops showed up at your house, they found you drunk on the floor with Laila sleeping on the floor beside you. Hand outstretched and placed against your shoulder.
“I order said child remanded under the care of the family services, until which time the father can demonstrate to perform duties of a responsible parent.”
Hearing that only made you shake your head, lips in a smile of disbelief as you looked at the judge and your lawyer. “Parties back in 30 days for a progressive hearing.”
“30 days?” You questioned. “What the fuck do you mean?”
“Mr. Y/LN, what your language.” The judge warned.
“No!” You exclaimed. “That’s bullshit. This isn’t fair. You can’t take my daughter away from me.”
Saying that, you were quick to rise from your seat and move towards Laila. “Dad, I don’t wanna go.”
When you went to hug your daughter, the two police officers quickly pulled you back. “What the fuck, man?” You barked. “Can I just give my daughter a hug? C’mon, man!”
“Please, I wanna stay with you!” Laila cried.
With each plea, and each pull of Laila, taking her away from you, you grew angrier. Starting to thrash in the officer’s hold, fighting to get to your daughter. “Just let me- Let me give her a hug, man!”
“Daddy!”
You had to watch your daughter be pulled away from you, calling out your name as you were pinned to the table. The officer’s restraining you and being forced to watch Laila leave your sight.
And for a whole week, you sat in your living room, unsure of what to do. Completely lost without Maddy’s guidance. She could always help you through this. She had always been able to help you figure out these types of problems. God, she would be disappointed in you, wouldn’t see? Losing custody of your guys’ kid? Oh, if she could, you guarantee she would be beating you over the head with something.
Which led you to the doorstep of the person you least expected to go to. Knocking on the motel door, hearing the quiet footsteps of feet before the door opened. Ali’s eyes shot wide from the sight of your dishevelled state.
But before he could speak, you interjected. “I will give you my all,” you promised. “Give me 2 months. I’ll give you everything I have for those two months.”
Ali stared at you for a moment. Clearly contemplating if taking such a risk was worth it. He was training other fighters after you were gone. But he knew that if you ever wanted to get back into it again, he would be the only one able to understand you. And with that in mind, you would only go after him.
So with a moment of silence, Ali nodded. “Alright,” he said. “You give me a 110%. Nothing less than that and I promise you, I will get you back to where you were.”
Which started the extensive training. Slowly rubbing off the rust from your previous sharp movements. But the training when you were pro was nothing like this. You barely got sleep nowadays from how long the sessions were. And the driving motivation?
Laila.
But in an attempt to try and be there for your daughter, you booked an appointment to see her. Walking down the hall with the lady in charge leading you to what you think was the cafeteria. Finding your daughter to be sitting at a table, alone. Eating her food silently and bitterly. From all the times you’d seen her at home after Maddy was put in a coma, she’d never looked this sad. But you couldn’t judge because of the bags under your eyes and chocolate skin the faintest shade paler. You weren’t the same man Laila called her father.
Slowly and cautiously, you took a seat with her. She glanced up for a moment, making eye contact with you before looking away. You tapped your fingers against the table quietly, glancing around to find other kids at different tables and other adults working at the building playing with said kids.
“I’m planning on fighting again.”
That had been enough to grab Laila’s attention as her lips slowly curled into a smile. “When?”
Seeing that smile was a rarity. Like a piece of rare treasure or history that you had lost years ago. But seeing it again, warmed your heart to a point that you didn’t know it was capable of.
“It’s nothing professional, just charity.” You explained in a soft voice.
“Then you have to bring me with you,” Laila replied eagerly.
“Laila,” you sighed, “I don’t think I can work that out. And I never liked you attending my fights.”
“Well, someone has to be there.”
“Ali will be,” you answered. “We patched things over and he’s training me again.”
“You can’t do it,” Laila countered. “I have to be there, dad.”
“Laila, I’m trying to get you out.”
“When?” The most important question and you didn’t have an answer for it. Because you didn’t know when. You didn’t know when you would be able to fight pro again. After not defending the belt for so long, the board had to take it away. So, you now had to restart from the very beginning and work your way back up to the professional level. The process had been long when you were in high school and it may even be longer now.
“Laila-” You tried.
“When?”
“Laila, I’m trying-”
“When?” She punched your shoulder. Hitting you again when you tried to explain.
But what you least expected was for her to slap you across the face. It silenced you, looking up at her with a clenched jaw and teary eyes. You knew she’d been bottling things up, and you didn't blame her for this. She didn’t have a mother and she had a sorry excuse of a father.
“I hate you!” She slapped you. “I hate you!” Again, she slapped you and you flinched. Bottom lip trembling as you tried to avoid her gaze.
Her hands grasped your shirt as she cried, “Why can’t you just get me out of this place?”
“I can’t,” you said. “I can’t right now. Baby, please.”
She continued to punch your chest, pent-up frustration and grief finally being let out and you were the main target. But thankfully, one of the helpers was quick to start rushing over. “I don’t trust you!”
“Just trust me!” You cried. “C’mon, Laila.”
“You keep making promises you can’t keep!”
“That is not true!” You exclaimed.
“You should’ve been the one that was killed!” Your breath got caught in your throat as you stared at the girl. “You! I wish you were the one that was dead! Not mom!”
Tears freely fell from your eyes as you watched Laila be pulled away. Yelling even more comments that broke you down all over again. Life wouldn’t pull its punches for the past 2 months. It didn’t even save you from your own daughter, who once looked at you as her hero. Were you the villain now?
She hated you. More than anything else in the world. She wished death upon you. But did you think the same? You’d put her in this situation and there was no taking back the damage it caused.
But if you tried hard enough, if you fought hard enough, perhaps you could make up for the mistakes you’ve made. Be cleansed of your sins and set something up for Laila that could be manageable for her future.
And what better place to start than hell?

Dust knocked up into the air with the classic Pontiac GTO racing down the old barren road. There were a hundred miles of distance where no form of civilization could be seen. Only left were the electrical poles that seemed to have stayed standing after all this time. Each one has its wooden structure slowly breaking down, on the brink of deteriorating to its last form.
The hot sun beat down on the old dirt and plants that could survive such conditions. Warming the black gloss paint that covered the vehicle that didn’t stop for anything. Because in the distance, there was a small camp, big enough to likely house 20 people. Nothing special, but something you’d expected to find on this travel that Ali had decided to take you on.
After fighting in the charity fight, the offer to come back and go pro was given to you. Of course, you took it but knew that the training that you had been given was needed to go to the next level. The first and last fight you would have was with Nate. So, you needed this extra boost no matter if it left you bloody and bruised. If it cemented the likelihood of you winning, it was a risk worth taking. This wasn’t a fight you could lose.
But the limits he was planning to push you to was something you were unsure of. From just sitting inside this vehicle for around 2 hours, you already felt like you’ve burned a decent amount of fat just from the blazing sun. And the closer you got to this small box of civilization, you quickly figured out that you were entering a shit show disguised as a training camp.
Getting out of the vehicle, your eyes glossed over the handmade devices for training. A boxing bag is now being tires put together horizontally and hung from a chain. There weren’t any treadmills, no machines to work on your reaction times, just brute craftsmanship. Multiple people sparring inside the dusty old ring whilst others were hitting pads held by trainers.
“When you said I needed an upgrade,” you turned to your grandfather, “I thought you meant an actual upgrade.”
Ali laughed in amusement, walking around the Pontiac to where you stood. “I’ve heard this is a place for fighters to go, you know, to start over, be reborn,” he stated with a sigh. “And since you’re going back to hell, you might as well get used to it.”
You glanced over at your grandfather for a moment before looking back at the camp filled with fighters and trainers. This was indeed hell. From the hot ass sun baking your caramel skin to the fighters that were definitely built better than you. Not only now where you still had quite a bit of body fat from the alcohol you’ve consumed in the past few months, but in your entire pro career. These guys were titans that you would likely have to spar.
“Get that sweater off you and grab that sledgehammer over there.” You followed his pointed finger and grabbed the specified item and took your sweater off. Leaving you in a blank white t-shirt as you followed the older man out into the open barren field of dirt and sand that stretched farther than the eye could see.
It felt weird being here, training without the extra presence of Maddy or Laila. For a time, they accompanied you through a lot of the training camps. And if they weren’t there with you, they were showing up to visit for a few minutes. Maddy took a lot of learning from Ali whilst Laila worked with you. Understanding the fundamentals of the sport that had been in your blood since you were a child. And now having neither here with you felt odd. Maddy still being in a coma with Laila still with Social Services until you could get your shit together.
Coming to a stop in the middle of the barren desert, a good couple hundred yards away from the camp, you glanced around. There was nothing besides the burning sun, the hot crusted Earth, and you. “Dig.”
The simple order Ali had given you had you glancing at him for a moment before looking to the ground. Hand gripping the handle of the sledgehammer a bit tighter. Bringing it down into your left hand, you inhaled deeply before swinging down towards the crusted surface. Breaking it open, creating a small rut in its once dry face.
“Harder.”
Again, you swung the hammer down. Creating a larger dip in the surface.
“Again!”
Each command grew louder with each step Ali took away from you. Soon got far enough that his commands weren’t needed and you continued on your own. Each swing was followed by a grunt, louder than the last as you worked harder and harder. Feeling the wood dig harshly into your hands. The smallest pieces of wood nipped at your skin, creating small cuts along the palm of your hands.
Being in a place like this, allowed you to think as you mindlessly worked out. Thinking about Laila, Maddy, and Nate. You wondered what was going to happen when you get your hands on him in the ring. Wondering if you would eventually visit Maddy, who still laid dormant in her coma. Or if you finally take time to spend your every waking moment with Laila when you were finished with this match.
Only time will tell. One thing you knew was that you were running to a place of redemption. A place to be reborn to come back a better man for your girlfriend and for your daughter. They didn’t need the rough and tumble man they’d seen you as before. They needed someone to be there with them. To give them the time they deserved and a man who would lock the beast, inside you, away. It's what they deserved a better man than what you’d been giving them.
But for one last time. You would have to bring out the beast.

Summary: A night of happiness can only go so far...
Warnings: Violence, slight fluff, and angst
Words 2224
The will to fight felt like you had been born with it since you were just a kid. Ever since you were a baby, your parents knew you had fighting spirit. Tiny fists balled up and being tossed left and right with whines falling from your lips. If you weren’t a fighter, you were stubborn, that was for damn sure.
It would explain a lot of your decisions growing up. Fighting in school becoming something normal for you. Along with broken knuckles and busted lips. It all was a norm when it came to you. Which had inevitably led to you being expelled at the age of six and being forced to move in with your grandfather, Ali.
Unlike your parents, this man didn’t let you do the same shit you had been doing. And in effect, his initiation of making sure you stayed in school and on the right path had ended up working. What hadn’t ended up working was for you falling in love with girl next door, Maddy Perez.
The funny part about your guys’ friendship is that it never really blossomed until both of you had been waiting for your bus. You had your eyes fixated onto open space with other kids around you becoming white noise. But it was when you heard an argument occurring between one kid and Maddy that you stepped in. And it ended with you beating a kid to a bloody pulp and forcing him to apologize for being a dick.
You were 9 at that time and it had been that moment that made Maddy finally see you. It was from there that she often talked to you whilst waiting for the bus. And you offered her words to make it seem like there was a conversation going on. Truthfully, you were nearly shitting your pants every time you talked to her, and she knew it.
But since then, the both of you had been joined to the hip over the years. Whenever one of you needed something, like support or someone to talk to, the other was always close by. This had also been around the time when you got into boxing. Finding an outlet to let out your emotions of a bag full of sand instead of a living human being. Your grandfather helping train you and hopefully, if you wished, prepare you to go pro.
Maddy supported you through those years. Even when Nate had been a pain in her ass and abused her, she was always at your house. Sitting beside you as you shivered in a tub, tending to your knuckles that were split open from the trauma you put them through on a daily basis.
And it was after graduation that you told Maddy how you felt about her. Surprisingly, she felt the exact same and that's when you two started dating. She accompanied you to the gym whenever you trained and was always there to help you recover from your bruises.
It was after your first professional match that she told you she was pregnant. She was prepared to take this task on her own if you shot her down. But thankfully, you were ecstatic with the news and took time off from training and fighting to help pay for what was needed and be there for her whenever she needed you. This was your chance to pay back for everything she’d done for you.
Then Laila was brought into the world.
This small child, with the most beautiful eyes and the most gorgeous smile was born. You felt like your life had brightened when you saw those vivid emerald eyes look back at you. From the moment you held her, you knew she was very special. She would be better than both you and Maddy combined.
Through the countless years, this fact was proven by her intelligence and unwavering love she held for everyone she met. Her kindness bringing a light to the world that you had never seen before.
But what surprised you was her interest in boxing. Often accompanying you to the gym much to what Maddy used to do. She would do drills with you, grinning like a fool whenever you or your grandfather, Ali, praised her for getting the combo’s right. Maddy had always said that Laila would take after you.
You allowed and encouraged her to take up the sport for fun. Give her something to do if she ever wished. But one thing that you didn’t allow was to come to your matches.
“Y/n!”
A hand patted your face, causing you to blink harshly and shake away your thoughts. Looking at Ali who brought used a q-tip and some bandages to wipe both your nostrils that had been bleeding for the past two rounds. The crowds watching were loud, almost deafening. But after years of fighting, you could tune it all out.
“Shorten that jab and shorten the distance,” Ali told you. “He can’t do anything when you’re up close. You win this fight any day.”
“He’s fast.”
“That doesn’t matter,” Ali countered. “This is you against you. This kid thinks he knows what who you are. He think he knows what you’ve been through. Use all your pain, your anger, everything. Put it in those motherfuckin’ hands and knock this piece of shit out.”
Giving a nod, you took one final sip of your water, spitting it into the bucket that was filled you blood and had Ali put on your mouth guard. Standing to your feet, your opponent, McKay stood to his feet as well with both your guys’ corner men getting out of the ring.
As soon as the bell rang, you marched towards McKay and him doing the same. He threw a jab, slipping past your hands and knocking you right in the nose. Your head lulled back slightly, but you shook it off stepped toe-to-toe with him. Closing the space and available room for him to throw an actual jab.
So, when he tried to hook, you ducked under the punch. Throwing a nasty hook to the side of his body, which landed right against his kidney. It showed to work by not only the audible groan that came from McKay, but his body nearly crumbling to the ground.
“Dig, Y/n! Dig!” You listened to your grandfather’s words and started landing body shots. Taking a few from McKay as he tried to get the upper advantage. But as soon as you focused on breaking his body down, it was already too late.
“10 seconds! Knock this fucker out!”
With a tiny shove, you moved McKay away just enough to throw an uppercut. The sheer force of it had him stunned with his head falling back. But when he went to get you back in his sights, he wasn’t ready for the overhand right that hit him right in the temple. Sending him falling to the canvas with a loud thud.
The moment his body hit the mat, the room erupted into cheers. You, being the showman you are, screamed, running to one of the corners and hopping up onto the ropes. Slamming your gloved hands against your chest, soaking up the praise from everyone. Leaning back slightly in the hands that slapped against your back from your corner men.
When you finally came down, you were greeted by arms wrapping around you. Maddy’s perfume invading your senses and allowing you to relax. Head falling forward to rest against the top of hers.
She pulled away slightly, taking out your mouthpiece and pressing a kiss to your lips. “Let’s get you cleaned up, yeah?” You smiled and nodded.
After getting cleaned up and finishing the post match conference, you and Maddy made your way to Lexi’s house where Laila was. Arriving there, you were greeted by a hug from the youngest Howard sister. If you were being honest, you weren’t very close with a lot of the people from Highschool. You had only known them from being with Maddy most of the years, but did grow some form of friendship with them. They supported you when they could and were more than willing to help you or Maddy out whenever.
“I heard you won the fight, congratulations.” Lexi lead you guys into her house. No sign of Cassie being anywhere, which didn’t exactly surprise you nor Maddy. That blonde had a tendency to strive forward and ruin her own life.
“Yeah, knockout in the 4th round,” you stated. “Where’s Laila?”
She stopped at the doorway of the living room and pointed to the couch. There your daughter was, passed out on the couch with a blanket wrapped around her tightly like some type of piece of armor protecting her from the horrible things of this world.
“She tried to persuade me with money to watch you fight?”
“Did you take it?” You asked instantly.
Noticing your deeper tone, Maddy was quick to step in. Resting a hand on your arm. “How about you take Laila to car, hmm?”
You sighed, nodding. Settling your daughter in the back seat, you waited in the car. Occasionally looking in the rear view mirror towards Laila. Until Maddy got into the car where you pulled out of driveway of Lexi’s house and started on your way home.
When you guys got home, you carried Laila into the house. Body aching to rest as you climbed the flight of stairs with Maddy close behind. You laid your daughter down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead before pulling the blankets over her body. Smiling softly and giving her one of her many plushie's and placing it in her arms. Which she instinctively pulled tight against her chest to hug.
Walking across the second floor of the mansion, you entered your bedroom. Maddy sat on the bed, doing her nightly ritual with you taking your shirt and pants off. It was oddly quiet tonight. These weren’t anything out of the norm considering Maddy knew you liked some quiet after a match. But you could feel something else brewing, so you decided to just do what you needed to and just go to bed.
Slipping on a pair of grey sweatpants, you went to the bathroom and began to brush your teeth. In the process, spit out blood from a gash on the inside of your lips. Groaning at the sting that it shot through your face.
“Do you think you could stop fighting soon?”
The question came out of left field and had you frowning. Back stepping to look out the doorway and make eye-contact with your girlfriend. “What do you mean?”
“What do you mean?” You muffled, continuing to brush your teeth.
“You know what I mean, Y/n,” she sighed. “Maybe you should hang the gloves up and focus on the family.”
“I do focus on you guys.”
“Not as much as you used to.”
You could see where she was coming from. When Laila was still a baby, you announced that boxing would be put on the back burner for the time being. You wanted to be a father first and worry about fighting later. A lot of people praised you for it and for a while, you actually liked that way of living.
But there would always be a part of you that wasn’t going to be satisfied. You felt like there was still so much you had to do with the sport of boxing and you don’t Maddy or Laila would understand. So, you wanted to check off each box as soon as you could so you could be a better father. But it would take a while before you could consider that. Not to mention that boxing is how you made your living. So, just dropping it would mean you would have to survive off whatever money you had left.
“I feel like you are trying to find something to use to fight right now.” You huffed.
“Do you really think I care about that?” Maddy stood to her feet walking to the bathroom and stopping at the doorway to glare at you. “Y/n, look at me.”
With a deep sigh, you spat out the toothpaste out of your mouth and placed your toothbrush by the sink. Turning to your girlfriend, who stepped closer and cupped your face. Her warmth instantly putting you a place of absolute comfort.
“I care about the three of us,” she stated. “I don’t care about the boxing, work, or what your grandfather thinks. I care and worry about what's best for our family. If you aren’t up for that type of commitment, me and Laila will move out for the time being.”
When Maddy went to leave, you grabbed her wrist with shake of your head. “You know I care about this as much as you do.”
“Then promise me you’ll stop.”
You licked your lips, biting the inside of your cheek before nodding. “I’ll stop after I beat him.”
There wasn’t any need for you to say the name since Maddy instantly knew who you spoke of. It caused her heart to clench as she was unsure if she should be angry or happy.
But either way, she took the promise. Leaning forward and kissing you softly before quickly pulling away. “I’ll hold you to it.”
A/N: This will be an au fic. So, everything that has happened in the first and second season are still a thing, but a lot of the characters like McKay are going to be boxers and such.
