it pisses me off how tigerheart (i'm refusing to call him tigerstar) and dovewing are pictured as the perfect couple or somth, it makes me feel like they're almost romanticising an abusive relationship. tigerheart is so manipulative and abusive toward dovewing and yet the erins keep forcing them together as if dovewing is supposed to be with him and be happy. as an abuse survivor it makes me incredibly angry, not to mention how poorly written tigerheart is :/

they literally try to make it romantic that tigerheart

-pressures dovewing return to a stressful situation she desperately doesn’t want to be in anymore

-basically makes her come back with him and makes her only choice be to come to shadowclan and not return home

-follow her after she basically already said ‘if you don’t MEET ME before i leave, we’re over” meaning since he didn’t leave with her she didn’t want to be with him anymore

-he leaves when his clan and LITERAL PARENTS are in need of support more than they’ve ever needed before and he leaves to go collect the wife who doesn’t really want to deal with clan bullshit (or him) anymore and (let’s be entirely honest here) he did it so he could take his kits to shadowclan more than dovewing

so anyway tigerheart’s a little shit brain WHY WASN’T TAWNYPELT LEADER

what was wrong with dotc? i'm curious

-only male protags

-each male protag got THREE love interests (i think thunder only got 2) and two of each died, besides thunder’s first mate who manipulated and used him and then cheated on him with his evil and abusive father and so thunder’s ex-girlfriend became his step mom and mother to his siblings

-clear sky somehow gets redemption but never actually changes

-wind runner being emotionally abusive to moth flight but somehow being rewarded for it

-so many fridged she-cats for the development of male characters (again, like two for both gray wing and clear sky EACH)

-abusive relationship (tom and turtle tail) turtle tail dies for it but nothing happens to tom (the abuser) besides he doesn’t get to keep his kits

-star flower being a terrible, disgusting person but is made to be a damsel in distress at all times and like she’s some special extremely important cat that saves the clans

-gray wing adopting a million cats as his own and yet the books drive it home that he’s not their REAL parent

-i forgot slate (gray wing’s third and final mate) existed and forgot her kits were gray wing’s biological children, they were created just so gray wing could have “REAL” kits because if you don’t physically create children obviously your life is unfulfilled, i don’t think she even had a personality, or that they had much build up, the writers just went “THERE’S A SHE-CAT, MAKE HER HAVE GRAY WING’S KITS SO HIS LIFE ISN’T POINTLESS even though he helped make the clans and raised like ten children as his own”

-they named the “REAL” villain one eye, which is literally the exact same as one-eye, a fan favorite elder from the original series just without the hyphen and now everyone gets confused

you couldn’t have just......named him something else they just had to be extremely uncreative

could’ve been like No Heart or No Eye at least SOMETHING THAT DIDN’T MAKE IT CONFUSING

-i liked some aspects, i liked gray wing dying in his pov that was cool, it had potential in so many places and they just made it fall flat and when i was reading it it was just boring and hard for me to continue

i want to re-read it eventually to refresh my mind and maybe it’ll be more interesting to me this time

i switch a lot between, but usually from a third person perspective. and i do have a parame, she’s lit just me but prettier and cooler.

BOY DO THEY. my parame, annie, has some of the same experiences i do, but also a lot of added shit ‘cause uh. that’s how it is. her brother, alex, also shares some of it (not all though). another para, called nathan, had some awful parents. i’ll probably detail that more when i make an intro post for him tho.
