Hi there, me again, if I read the rules correctlyyou said we could do a separate ask for a separate game. If I read incorrectlyplease just ignore this, if not if my first ask wasn't to much I'd love to ask for an ikerev matchup as well! I'm bi, female (she/her) sagittarius sun, virgo rising, libra moon, ENFT. I'm 5'2, chubby/curvy w/ great boobs, I have longer  brunette hair w/ peekaboo highlights (they've been every color, but currently pink), brown eyes, glasses/contacts, 7 piercings & 26 tattoos. I'm very empathetic (sometimes to a fault) and have sever anxiety and depression. It takes me awhile to warm up around new people and be myself. I often feel intimidated in big social settings, such as parties, and often use alcohol for some liquid courage to help me let loose and be me in those situations. I've suffered some emotional and mental abuse at the hands of a step parent which has left me with some trauma and triggers; people raising their voice at me or making quick movements toward me or in my direction usually result in me crying and secluding myself for awhile. Oh and I have daddy issues, thanks absent father. That said I also don't do great with authority, I hate being told what to do, and I hate being told no. I can put up with a lot of shit, but eventually it usually becomes a 'straw that broke the camels back' situation and I fly off the handle and then break down. I am also extremely generous and do all I can to help my friends and family when they need it. I have some self confidence issues from weight gain, and I usually feel my best when I'm dolled up with my makeup on and hair done, usually with a dress and heels. I'm a Ravenclaw thats hates to read, but I love learning & know tons of trivia; like I know so many random facts about so many things from history, to movies, to graveyards, and much more. I often correct people on things, which some perceive as me belittling them, but its never my intention I'm just trying to share my knowledge and trying to help them. I am very creative I love crafting; resin art, macrame, cross stich, those are just some of my favorite things to do art wise, I also enjoy coloring books. I love to laugh and think I'm pretty funny, I usually have a dark sense of humor, if you don't like humor we won't vibe together, and if you can't make me laugh we will not be a good relationship match. I like to go to the bar and do karaoke, it's one thing I've learned I'mvery good at. It took me about 2 years, but I've since learned to be confident with my singing and now its one of my favorite things to do. I drink, obviously, gin and tonic is my favorite. I also smoke, I love my hookah, and I've had my medical card for about a year and it's done wonders for my insomnia and cramps. For about 2 years I've been getting severe cramps and stomach pains, and after 5 er trips in a month they didn't find anything, its still a mystery but at least the bud helps the pain. l'm very into the witchy aesthetic; my style is either very Stevie Nicks, pinup, or 2009 emo/scene depending on the day. I collect animal skulls and bone, taxidermy, crystals, and plants; I also practice the craft & love to make spell jars for people. I love tarot and really enjoy doing it. I live for Halloween & enjoy all things macabre! My favorite show is That 70's Show and if I could live in a replica of the Forman's house that would be my dream. I am also very sex positive and rather adventurous in bed. I'm a brat and a voyeur, I'll get down with just about anything. My love language is giving and receiving gifts. I put alot of thought into holidays like Christmas, I plan months in advance to make sure I get everyone the perfect gift; but I also will sometimes see something that just reminds me of someone and have to get it for them. That is all I can think of right now to add about myself. I'd love 4 and/or 10 for the prompt part. And again thank you for doing these, I'm such a ho for them, and again I'm sorry its long.
I match you with
Edgar!
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for requesting 🥰🥰! I’m sorry this took so long, but here it is! I hope you enjoy it ❤️! I Hope you don’t mind the sprinkle of angst in the second ask.😅
I was thinking Ray at first, but I ended up going with Mr smooth, since Ray is too predictable after Nap.
Edgar is known among the red army officers as the person who will make you feel safe, especially during your first encounters with them, before you find out they’re all dorks.  What he doesn’t expect is how at home he feels when the two of you are together. He never feels like he’s being judged when he’s around you and he lets himself go, despite the indoctrination by Claudius that he should always keep people at a distance to avoid being viewed as weak.
Not long after the two of you met, he decides to take you out along with Kyle for a drink, to help you get more accustomed to Cradle and its people. When you realize how much Kyle loves to drink, you follow suite, the two of you very quickly getting tipsy. Edgar laughs at the two of you for a bit, happy to see a new side of you as you allow yourself to grow more comfortable with them. Eventually he leads the two of you outside of the pub and arranges for a carriage to take you all back to headquarters, trying his hardest to tame the both of you.
He absolutely loves it when you sing to him, especially after a particularly hard day of work. He relaxes at the sound of your voice, often drifting off. It touches him more than he would like to admit when he finds you’re still there when he wakes up.
You are a light in his life and he wants to give back in kind, often dedicating his days off entirely to you. He loves giving you gifts, or surprising you with a romantic dinner to show his appreciation to you, for being there and understanding him.
While he doesn’t have the creativity to participate in most of your hobbies, he loves to watch you do it. The amount of passion you show for your art, the way your eyes light up when you’re working, is a picture perfect moment that he could look at for hours.
Prompt 4: Meet cute:
You couldn’t stop fidgeting as you stood outside the Red Army Headquarters, waiting for Kyle to fetch someone to help you. After you told him about burglars breaking into your house he insisted he get one of the officers to help you, despite you doubts. It was hard not to worry as you considered the prospect of having to turn to Jonah for help, knowing how hard he could be to communicate with, capable officer or not.
When Kyle finally emerged, it wasn’t Jonah walking next to him, but a man you didn’t recognize.
“Sorry for the wait. He’s not easy to find.” The man stood a few heads higher than you but his softer features and aura helped to make him quite welcoming. You begun to relax at his presence, wondering if he was as smooth as he seemed.
“Edgar Bright, at your service.” He offered you a gloved hand, a soft smile playing on his lips. His grip was soft but secure. He was smooth.
“Kyle filled me on the details but I’ll need a statement from you as well.” You tensed up, the idea of an interrogation being especially daunting considering you didn’t know much more than they did.
“No need to worry, it’s simply protocol. You can trust we will find whoever did this without any turbulence.” There was something very reassuring about him. Something that makes you think everything will be all right.
“Thank you.”
The two of you left Kyle behind, retreating to Edar’s room to discuss the details of the investigation. After he poured two cups of tea he took the seat opposite you, as if the two of you were about to chat about the weather.
“Could you give me the details of what happened? It would be very helpful to hear it straight from the source.” You took a sip before starting with your statement, hoping to calm your nerves.
“I don’t know much more than you do. I was out for work most of the day and when I came back the place was a mess and many valuables were missing.” he seemed to have switched to work mode, completely focused on you.
“What time did you leave for work that day? And when did you return” he scribbled down on a piece of paper, his hand practically moving on its own.
“I left around 8 and came back around 6, I think.” When he put the pen down his attitude returned to relaxed gentleman status.
“I will start with asking the people who might have been present at the scene. I’ll get back to you once I’ve made some progress.” The conversation was over but you found it hard to leave. It didn’t feel right letting one man do the investigation on his own, despite it being his job. It was your house that had been rambled after all.
“I want to help as well. I know my way around the area, I can get in touch with some people.” His eyes widened, seemingly taken aback for the first time that day. He quickly composed himself, smiling again. You noticed something different about it now. Something in his expression told you he was more interested than before.
“I wouldn’t say no to a lady.” You smiled for the first time after the incident.
“Let’s get going then.”
 Prompt 10: Admission Of Feelings.
You continued working on the investigation for the next few weeks, the two of you growing closer by the day.
“There don’t seem to be any witnesses, but it’s unlikely no one was present. The break in happened in the middle of the day.” He rested his head on his chin, not touching the parfait sitting in front of him.
“Maybe they were there but didn’t notice anything. It’s not hard for a professional to pick a lock discreetly.” They two of you sat in silence for some time, both lost in your own theories of what happened that day.
He must have realized your worries, turning on his comfort face.
“We’ll find them. Don’t worry.” Usually you found his words comforting, but you couldn’t keep the frustration from your voice when you looked up at him.
“Realistically speaking, it’s probably not going to happen. They made a clean escape and left nothing behind. You don’t need to baby me, I can put two and two together.” Despite the harshness of your tone, you found him smiling, after the initial surprise wore off.
“You never cease to amaze me.” He opened his mouth to say something, but the words never left him, his eyes turning to the window. He was up and out of the café before you could ask what he had seen.
“What the-“when you looked in the direction of the culprit, you shot up, following after him.
A man stood outside your door, seemingly fighting with the door. When he noticed the two of you approaching him, he dropped his bags, taking off before you could reach him.
“Stop!” Edgar run after him, his speed taking you by surprise, making it hard to catch up.
The man took a sudden turn, heading towards the narrow alleys of Central Quarter, giving you an important disadvantage in the chase.
Your legs ached and your heart was threatening to burst out of your chest. When you thought you couldn’t keep going, you rounded a corner to find Edgar, sitting on top of the man, pinning him in place. If he was tired from the chase, it didn’t show.
“I suppose I don’t need to ask if it was you who broke in a few weeks ago?” his gaze was cold and his grip was tight on the man’s shoulders.
“I- I just- I-it wasn’t me!” Edgar ignored him, turning towards you. Something flickered in his eyes, but loud footsteps coming your way didn’t let him act on whatever it was.
“The Jack? Sir, what happened? We heard the commotion and came to investigate.” A handful of Red Army soldiers stood in front of you, their eyes switching between Edgar and the man under him.
“Take this man back to headquarters. I will interrogate him later.” Edgar pulled the man up, pinning his hands behind his back.
“Yes sir!” when the men led the thief away there was silence. Edgar’ kept his head low, not looking you in the eye as he tried to calm his breathing, the adrenaline of the chase slowly fading away. You knew you should be happy the man had been caught, but something was wrong in the atmosphere. You weren’t sure if you should speak up, or let him ride whatever it was out. He didn’t give you time to think on it, finally walking toward you. His hands were shaking when he reached out to touch your shoulders, a mixture of frustration and worry in his eyes.
“You…. Why…” you weren’t sure what to say, so you put your arms around him instead, hoping it would offer him some comfort. You stayed like that for some time, until his hands stopped shaking.
“I didn’t want you to see me like this.” His words were muffled by the fabric of your shirt. When he lifted his head again, something inside him seemed to snap.
“You shouldn’t have followed me. What if something happened? You could have gotten hurt.” He looked away, his eyes shut tight. You wondered what image was going through his head to cause him so much pain. You cupped his face, forcing him to face you.
“Edgar, look at me.” And he did. The sight of you seemed to calm him down.
“Nothing’s going to happen to me. I’m right here.” It took some time for the words to register, but when they did his face moved closer to you. You encouraged him, pulling him closer, your lips connected in a brief kiss. When he pulled away he took a step back, as if scared he had hurt you.
“I-I’m sorry.” You moved closer, smiling up at him.
“There’s nothing to apologize for. Except maybe pulling away.” You laughed. When he realized you might feel the same way he took your hands in his.
“You’re an amazing woman.” He paused to gather his breath before meeting your gaze again.
“If the thought wouldn’t be appalling, could I see more of you, outside of work?” you couldn’t keep the laughter inside.
“Appalling? Edgar, do you think I would kiss someone I find appalling?” you pulled him back in, hoping to get your point across.
“I’ll never get enough of this.” His smile was brighter than you’d ever seen it.
“I’ll hold you to that. Because we’re just getting started.” The moon was bright above you as you laughed, your happiness overflowing.

CW Star Jensen Ackles Invites AD Inside His Family Home in Austin
Jensen and his wife, Danneel, worked with a local Austin team to devise a lakeside home with tongue-in-cheek touches and a musical through line
Tumblr media
 Kathryn Romeyn
NOVEMBER 27, 2018 10:30 AM
There’s a lot going on inside the Lake Austin home of actors Jensen and Danneel Ackles—a lot of color, a lot of texture, endless elements begging their stories to be told. If you need a quick snapshot: The living room is scattered with guitars and, on the shag rug, Technicolor floor pillows; antique Venetian dioramas of Lilliputian-sized rooms are embedded into the white-oak walls, while a hanging cage traps gilded Barbie dolls by Micky Hoogendijk; on top of a shelf housing a record player, a photograph of Tom Waits sits next to a chicken skeleton; a regal white peacock perches on the side of the mercantile-style bar. There’s the master bedroom swaddled in Trove wall covering bearing vintage photography of 1920s opera boxes. And the two-story screened-in porch holds a table crafted from a 2,000-year-old cypress sinker log, a storied Boyd Elder cow skull, and four-foot glass lanterns from Tony Duquette’s estate.Indeed, Danneel and Duquette share a similar philosophy. “More is more is more!” Danneel says emphatically. “More is the most.” Still, the Ackleses' five-bedroom, 7,500-square-foot residence isn’t actually an ode to opulence but rather an evocative tribute to key passions at the core of their personalities: the music and aesthetics of the late ’60s, Austin’s art scene, and imaginative oddities and occultist ephemera, perhaps appropriate considering Jensen’s longtime role on the CW’s Supernatural. After deciding to leave Brentwood, California, and coming this close to putting in an offer on a Lake Austin fixer-upper, the couple set their gaze on a house three doors down, sans “for sale” sign. “As we drove by, Danneel and I both looked at our real estate agent and were like, ‘See, that is the kind of house we’re looking for,’” recalls Jensen. Adds Danneel, “we wanted something less ostentatious.” Fortunately, the owner was willing to sell, but the property was far from turnkey and required an overhaul to go from what Danneel calls the “Texas Tuscan look"—generic stuccoed track mansion—to a wood-clad ranch-style stunner.

Jensen and Danneel enlisted Austin architect Paul Lamb and Abode principal interior designer Fern Santini to kickstart what ended up being a very collaborative renovation—even the Ackleses' eldest child, five-year-old JJ, got into the fun, choosing everything in her Pinterest-worthy bedroom. At their initial meeting with Santini, the potential for partnership was evident when she pulled up in an auspicious 1967 E-Type Jaguar. “I mean, it’s just like the coolest thing ever,” says Jensen of the car, which was made in the same year Danneel had said she wanted to recreate in the Austin home so as to pay tribute to the Laurel Canyon bungalow where the couple once lived. “People like Carly Simon had played guitar there,” Danneel says. “It was a magical little place. So when Fern pulls up in that car ... We just bonded over music and a love of that time period and had our vision right off the bat.”
Executing that vision involved blowing out the majority of the house’s interior, taking it down to the studs, and reconfiguring it. “It was very closed and very ‘90s,” says Santini. Extensive structural work was devised by Lamb, one of Santini's frequent creative conspirator. “Paul is from New Orleans and I’m from Louisiana, and we have the same odd sense of humor and style,” says Danneel, who saw a residential elevator he’d done entirely in red velvet and said, “That’s the guy for me!” The foursome worked beautifully together—that is, after Jensen learned early on to keep his mouth shut if and when he doubted any stylistic choices. When shown the idea for a rich, royal blue sofa, “I was like, ’Y’all are crazy!’” says Jensen. “But then I just thought, I’m not going to get in their way.”
Smart man, considering a highly personalized space began to unspool under Santini and Lamb's direction. “It was imperative that the house express the Ackleses—young, bold, and irreverent,” Lamb says. “It had to be full of humorous and endearing eccentricities and it needed to radiate a comforting yet exotic familiarity.” He simplified and opened spaces, flipped the feel from a masonry house to a wood-framed home—thanks to exposed beams, larger expanses of windows, and rich wooden ceilings—and, perhaps most transformational, added a breezy two-story screened porch that altered the entire profile. “The former house was straight-laced and vaguely Mediterranean,” Lamb says. “Now it is an eclectic, free-spirited, Austin-style lake house.” Santini calls it “a cross between Joni Mitchell and the Serge Gainsbourg–Jane Birkin thing that was going on in Paris at the same time. It’s very hip but it’s low-key.”
Musically, the home is rich with sound, thanks to Jensen’s collection of guitars and the McIntosh turntable Santini says she “has real fetish for, after spending my entire career trying to hide stereo equipment.” There’s also a surfeit of historical and meaningful music-related artwork—think photographs of Yasgur’s Farm in Woodstock and a house where Bob Dylan recorded. “The hand-scraped wood floors undulate quite heavily, and we’ve got these giant beams and wood all around that feel like you’re in the hull of a giant ship,” Jensesn says. “What that does is it creates an amazing acoustic sound. We’ve always had music in our lives, and we wanted to pass on that tradition.”
The parents of three also are active supporters of local art. “We’re not the type who need it to all be the same. That’s criminal to me, almost,” says Danneel of their home full of diverse pieces from Austin and Marfa, including female artists from galleries like Women and Their Work. Santini describes the pair as risk-takers who both led the charge on outside-the-box thinking and let her push the limits. In their third home together, the Ackleses hit their stride, nailing a personally reflective infusion of edge, humor, and spirit.
“It goes to that having a history, having a story,” says Jensen, who, with his wife, selects works based on a gut feeling as opposed to popularity or perceived value. It’s the same way Danneel approached design. “We have so many friends who come into the house and are like, ‘Oh my gosh, I love this—it’s so crazy and unexpected. But man, I would have never picked out all these things, and I wouldn’t have been brave enough to do it!’” she says. “I’ve heard this over and over, and I wish more people would just be brave and go with what makes them happy.”
Tumblr media
The home’s entry was designed to feel like an outdoor living space according to Santini, who sourced an 1850s English table and unusual Swedish lantern from the 1820s to anchor the room. The woven stools are from Tidelli, and the headless deer with ferns are by Italy’s Imperfetto Lab.
Tumblr media
Architect Paul Lamb’s significant removal of walls led to a feel-good expansiveness where there are no boundaries. “It all kind of flows,” says Jensen. “You never feel like you’re in just one room.” In the media room, they did the least amount of work, painting the dark ceiling trusses to lighten the space and putting a German smear on the orange-y fireplace to tone it down.
Tumblr media
The most Texas room in the house is the Marfa-imbued dining space, where the couple’s cherished Boyd Elder bull skull hangs. It’s part of a 10-piece series from the ’70s, the most famous of which was on the cover of the Eagles’ Their Greatest Hits album. “Back in the ‘60s and ‘70s bands on tour wanted to have an artist with them, and Boyd was like the muse for the Eagles,” says Danneel, adding of the late artist, “I believe he dated Joni Mitchell, and she has one of the pieces.”
Tumblr media
The slightly sunken living room with the deep-blue banquette couch, white shag rug, macrame chair, and muscular oak beams is Jensen’s favorite space. “There are just so many textures in that living room and vibrant colors, and it’s all surrounded by this amazing wood. I can just sit there and pick away at a guitar or play records all day long,” he says.
Tumblr media
Behind the sofa is a gold birdcage artwork by Austin artist Micky Hoogendijk. It’s an observation on “women who seem to be trapped by money and possessions and they’re OK with it; they like living in that gilded cage,” says Danneel. “It looks intense but when you get close to it they’re all smiling and happy and unaware that they’re in this cage because they’re gold and perfect. For me that’s just somewhere I never want to be, so I was really attracted to that.”
Tumblr media
Danneel spends a lot of time in the babies’ room (22-month-old twins Zeppelin and Arrow) and the kitchen, where the kids’ favorite toy is a rolling acrylic table from the ‘50s. (“Fern would have a heart attack,” she laughs.) They tore the space down to nothing and built it back from scratch. “It was a totally different feel, and very kind of country looking, which didn’t blend well with the rest of the house,” Jensen says. Now, to Lamb, “the kitchen’s glossy painted wood boards look like pinstripes, crisp and good-natured, like a happy kitchen in the Hamptons.”
Tumblr media
“There’s not a space they don’t use,” says Santini of the house she worked on with Jensen and Danneel. The reimagined pool room taps into their proclivity for spooky oddities with framed tarot cards and a game table that could work for board games or even séances, says Lamb, who added a secondary kitchen for big gatherings with access to a barbecue area on the lawn, and a wine room.
Tumblr media
A native Southerner, Danneel fought hard for the addition of a screened-in porch, which Lamb had the vision—inspired by Greenwood Plantation in St. Francisville—to make two stories tall. “I wanted more than anything to be able to sit out there, not get eaten alive by mosquitos, and look at the lake and watch the boats go by,” says the actress. Jensen’s favorite piece in the house is the long table, custom made using a 2,000-year-old cypress log that had sunk and was buried on the West Bank of New Orleans.
Tumblr media
The bar—black walnut with black and white veined marble—is on one end of the large living room and is the site of frequent small parties involving music, either live or from the McIntosh turntable. The cabinets were specially made to light prized bourbons, and on the side is a white taxidermy peacock Santini tracked down over months. Flooring throughout the house is hand-scraped Texas post oak with character to spare.
Tumblr media
The master bedroom and the adjacent sitting room are clad in reclaimed barn wood, juxtaposing the whimsical wallpaper covered in sections by Japanese-inspired barn door panels that allow for flexible boundaries. Jensen said of the scheme, “You guys are losing me, but it sounds awesome, so knock it out!” Danneel already owned the two petrified wood and resin log tables that sit in front of the vintage ‘50s daybed with Mongolian lamb, though the majority of what’s in the home was selected or made specifically for it.
Tumblr media
Inspiration for their master bathroom shower came from an Architectural Digest story featuring a steel and glass shower in the home of Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. Lit by Apparatus fixtures, Lamb conceived a simple vaulted space with a white oak board ceiling and fumed and cerused walnut cabinets with a slight Tansu feel. A Kyle Bunting cowhide rug is centered on the room, and Holly Hunt ombre-dyed handkerchief linen window treatments frame the lake view.
Tumblr media
The pair’s five-year-old daughter, JJ, helped pick out all her own bedroom decor. “The more color the better,” says Danneel. Santini calls it “hippie in training.” Like in the rest of the home, her walls are plaster.
Tumblr media
The ultra-private home looks out at a nature preserve across the water. Durable throw pillows around the house were made of old quilts purchased online. “We bought a lot of them and mixed them all up,” says Santini. “There’s nowhere in the house where you feel like you have to tip toe around or can’t sit. That was definitely intentional.”
Tumblr media
Inside and out, Lamb and Santini ensured that the Ackleses’ Austin home “expresses them—young, bold, and irreverent. It had to be full of humorous and endearing eccentricities and it needed to radiate a comforting yet exotic familiarity.”

(c)architecturaldigest
And the two-story screened-in porch holds a table crafted from a 2,000-year-old cypress sinker log, a storied Boyd Elder cow skull, and four-foot glass lanterns from Tony Duquette’s estate.
Indeed, Danneel and Duquette share a similar philosophy.

One of the neighborhoods near me has reached Peak Hipster: a poster advertising a macrame class.
$115 for a class to teach you how to make a knotted plant hanger. From a roll of heavy-gauge string.
I was a child in the 70s. I have snap judgments about macrame, and not many of them are good.*
If people want to learn macrame, great! I’m happy for them! Just ... not for me. Really, REALLY not my aesthetic.
*However, my 70s childhood did teach me that macrame wall hangings are great entertainment when the cat uses them to climb around the house without ever touching the floor.

Related styles/ influences
Macrame has a close stylistic connection to the Bohemian lifestyle which was likely aided by the hippie revolution of the 70's
Bohemian style is a fashion style strongly related to hippie fashion, in which natural fabrics, retro patterns, neutrals and warm shades merge with 70s style accents and a flair for statement accessories.
https://www.thepearlsource.com/blog/bohemian-style-ultimate-guide/
With a history inspired by artists, it makes sense to embrace handmade pieces such as poetry, plants, and macramé.
Macrame is also known for its unique patterns and organic textures which closely aligns with the Bohemian style.
This is another possible influence for the design direction of KnotStudio that deserves consideration.
Tumblr media
This moodboard reflects more on the 'lifestyle' of a modern bohemian enthusiast. More neutral and soft tones with green as the highlight colour, a reflection of greenery and sustainability of the lifestyle.
Modernised/ Minimal 'BoHo' style moodboard
Tumblr media
This moodboard incorporates multicolour which reflects a more traditional bohemian colour scheme. It also draws much inspiration from patterns which is something we see Macrame and Bohemian style. However, there is a clear simplification and minimisation in the aesthetic which gives greater flexibility in application of a design system

pink lemonade – what’s your aesthetic?
ooohh I guess a blend of 70s vintage (crochet, green + gold accents, macrame plant holders, dark brown wood furniture, etc) and eclectic stoner with lots of crystals? But also like. Dyke lol
but like, fashion-wise I’m a millennial trapped in collage so a lot of big t-shirts and shorts lmfao

Bring Nature Indoors With Textile Prints + Curtains
Hello and happy Friday, let’s fill our imaginations today with some lovely ideas for the home with botanical curtains and textile wall hangings. I loved reading about how artist, Pernille Folcarelli in Denmark, uses both to, “create a soft home style and a calm, harmonious atmosphere.”
Tumblr media
I personally love the first image shown above, handmade by Pernilli, because it speaks to my personal aesthetic so very closely. Everything about it, from the rosy wall color to the calmness in the display, and of course the wall hanging, tugs at my heart. The books on the cart, the ceramics, dried flowers, it’s very feminine, calm, and modern.
Aside from looking beautiful, it’s also important to note that textiles reduce disturbing room acoustics or that “hollow” echo that so many minimalist rooms have.
I know this isn’t a trend in the states, but did you know that many northern Europeans have ditched curtains for simple blinds or shades, or nothing at all? I vote to please BRING THE CURTAINS BACK! I love how they both frame a window and absorb sound so a room loses that annoying echo which is so extremely cold. Also, I love how, in the evening, windows are no longer big black boxes - you can close the drapes and enjoy your cozy, warm nest.
Tumblr media
Above is another example of warm and beauty, which speaks to my heart as well. I love the vintage-inspired lamp and the printed drapes because they give this otherwise bare room a bit of a soul. I also like seeing patterns. For very long now, pattern has been outed a bit here in northern Europe - passed by for solids, tactile things like faux fur, velvet, “teddy bear” chairs, leather, etc.
In America and the UK pattern seems to be forever a thing - they LOVE their patterns. It isn’t as common here these days to see printed drapes in the homes of local Instagram influencers or even in your favorite design books and magazines. Everything is very solid and tactile, which is super lovely, but when I see this room above I definitely vote YES on prints done right.
The Dutch are starting to move prints into the interiors world again, and the Danish are giving it a go, so let’s see where we end up.
Tumblr media
I gladly welcome back patterns BUT in a very controlled fashion, as shown above. The example below is a bolder version of the one above that maybe would appeal to someone who really LOVES pattern and color combined - someone BOLD! Both examples are just lovely.
BUT on the flipside, I can’t imagine living in the 80s or 90s again when everything was printed including wall-to-wall carpet. Do you recall those days? Here’s a fun thing to try so please google it: do you remember the floral sofa from the Golden Girls’ home? WE HAD THAT SOFA in our home for 10 years. Yes, really. My mother was a massive decorator, totally full-blown into it. She had all the latest and loved color. We had macrame, dried flowers, gold embellished everything, ficus fig-trees, pampas grass, and rattan chairs long before they came back in vogue in 2018.
I still remember when our Golden Girls apricot sofa moved in - heavily patterned, I knew the 80s had arrived and my mother was giddy over it. And if you’re wondering what our sofa looked like before the Golden Girls sofa, it was a super plush lime green velvet sofa (70s) which I was perfectly happy with, combined with gold metallic bamboo-patterned wallpaper and Chinese hand-painted porcelain in the cabinet with red dragons painted all over it. In the corner, a large vase filled with very tall pampas grass. In the windows, macrame planted hanging from hooks filled with plants.
Tumblr media
This view below may appeal to the monochromatic fans out there, or fans of the handmade minimalist modern movement where everything is very sculptural and rooms are extraordinarily edited. The patterned wall hanging offers something more than a mirror or framed art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like what Pernille, the maker behind these patterned textiles, has to say about our innate connection to nature,
“In an unpredictable and uncertain world, we turn to nature. It brings calmness and grounding. Studies show that we relax and feel less stressed when looking at nature's motives. This also applies to images and imprints of plants and nature. But having lots of nature outside is not a given for everyone. Therefore, plant motifs on the walls are a unique opportunity to surround ourselves with botany and green colors. Like an indoor garden, which requires neither watering nor care.”
I want to wish you a wonderful weekend, thank you for stopping by my blog to visit me today!
Love,
Holly

What are the things which come under etro style?
bohemian or etro is more of a definition  than a thing. Etro indicates aesthetics that takes its impact from those free spirits of previous eras. The advanced boho stylish look is varied and with an accentuation on ethnic and vintage pieces from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s. Things which helps in creating a etro vibes are-
Relaxing environment
warm
comfortable
eclectic
liveliness
Colourful
Vintage or retro style
The hippie influence of the 1960s and ’70s on boho-chic style ushered in an infusion of accessories that utilized natural or raw materials such as hemp, sisal, wood, and rattan. Think woven wall decor, macrame plant hangers, a sisal area rug, a leather footstool or a decorative ladder. Although natural textures are key, don’t let that stop you from throwing in a metallic Buddha or metal floor lamp for a little shine alongside natural elements. One thing the etro home style leaves behind is texture. Adding texture to your room can be accomplished from numerous points of view. Here are a few things you can do to give that etro look to your home-
1.Decorative baskets.
2. Different plants and pots.
3. Macrame wall hangings.
4. Natural fiber rugs
5. Colorful turkish or pesian rugs.
6. Wood Furniture or bradley table
7. upholstery
8. Even works of art and piles of books are textural!
9. Hang a woven artwork, layer tosses over your furnishings, get some insane pads and heap them on your couch.
10. In bohemianism, the idiom goes “more will be more”, so include a lot of stuff you love and which describes your own personality and reflects some character to it.
Tumblr media
Start by bringing an assortment of a few things into the territory you are brightening. Move them around, mess with various shapes and materials until it feels right. Maximalism is a major pattern at the present time, yet in the event that a maximalist space isn’t some tea, you can likewise consolidate the boho style into a more moderate setting. One can always utilize woven materials, mats, a little floor cushion and regular components like wood and plants. Being artistic is being etro. Doesn’t matter if etro originate from olden days or is vintage but it’s still very much in fashion and people love to bring this style into their home because it’s unique and feels like the interior speaks to us, as if the home is alive. This feeling is different from any other style. That’s why you need a professional to get that perfectly for you.  If you’re looking for the best interior designer to give your home an etro style and help you find the best etro home interiors. Then your wait is as Seetu Kohli is a renowned interior designer, who is famous for her etro designs and interiors. Seetu Kohli Homes is an established, high end Luxury architecture and luxury interior design company based in New Delhi and Qatar.

Retro macrame shower curtain
View this post on Instagram
Finally got that new shower curtain up but I’m just not feeling it. It’s all macrame party at the top and nothing on the bottom and it smells a bit eggy in all honesty. And I think I’m missing the mustard. Send love and ideas cos lord knows I need them. #showercurtainsaga • Shower curtain, plant hanger, toothbrush holder – @urbanoutfittershome Towel basket, bath caddy – @ikeauk Towels – @zarahome Print – @chloe_vaux Plant pots – @tkmaxxuk Bath mat – @dunelmuk

One of the easiest ways to update your bathroom is by swapping out the shower curtain—especially for one with some retro vibes like this peachy macrame curtain featured in this post by @emilyjanelathan.
“A macrame shower curtain is an unexpected way to bring texture into an otherwise flat bathroom,” says Jessica Carter, designer for Moda Matters. “And if your look is more monochrome, then that texture acts as another layer to your design.”
Get the look: Although you can buy the exact shower curtain featured here from Urban Outfitters, we like the idea of DIY when it comes to anything macrame—especially since that’s how it all started back in the ’70s. The stay-in-the-bath tray

If you’ve ever been tempted to live in your bathtub (or at least enjoy a very long soak), then a bath tray, like this one reposted by @hunkerhomes (originally from @ispydiy), is just what you need.
When you’re not in the tub, it can be used for plants or towels, and when you are—drinks, books, candles, dinner, you name it.
“The bath tray, like the spa-style shower, is all about self-care,” says Rebecca MacDonald, design manager at Wayfair Professional. “People are beginning to address the need for self-care and finding moments of downtime to unwind at home.”
Get the look: Bath trays can be found in most decor stores, but we like this one from Wayfair with recessed cubbies, which help ensure the wine and the books stay on the tray, and not in the tub.

If we see one more “live, laugh, love” sign—well, we might actually lose it. Which is why more sassy signs, like this one reposted by @bohemiandecor from @tatjanas_world_, are such a welcome change, especially in an unexpected place like the bathroom.
“People want to show off their personality in unique ways, and maybe not in their living rooms but somewhere slightly more out of view,” MacDonald says. “A quirky sign in the bathroom makes a statement and gets a laugh from a houseguest.”
As long as you don’t find it weird to have people cackling in your bathroom, we highly recommend a fun wall sign.
Get the look: Etsy is all over this trend, with everything from “Wash your hands ya filthy animal” to more, ahem, bathroom humor.

This walk-in shower designed by @thejoshuatreehouse is enough to make anyone consider a full bathroom remodel, if only to feel like you live in a Turkish bathhouse.
“For small bathrooms that don’t have room for a tub, a spa-style shower is a way to open up the space and bring that spa feeling home,” Carter says. “Tell your contractor to leave off the glass doors and continue the floor tile into the shower. This will create the illusion of a bigger space. With the money you save on glass doors, you can splurge on some beautiful new tile.”

This season seems to be all about bringing more natural elements into the home, and the large fiber bathmat reposted by @hygge_for_home originally from @homeadore is no exception.
“Matchy towels and mats have no place in a design-forward bathroom,” Carter says. “Instead go for a woven mat—they feel more like a real rug, and a variety of retailers offer options in accessible price points.”

Drew Barrymore’s New Flower Home Collection for Walmart is Adorably Quirky
We hope you like the products we recommend. Just so you are aware, Freshome may collect a share of sales from the links on this page.
There’s something about Drew Barrymore that has captivated audiences for years. Her quirky personality and free-spirited nature have made her a one-of-a-kind figure in modern history. These days, she’s bringing that energy to the world of home decor.
The actress recently released a line of home products for Walmart. It’s an online-only offering that will be available through Walmart’s site, as well as two of the retail giant’s subsidiaries, Jet.com and Hayneedle.com.
The Drew Barrymore Flower Home line consists of over 130 home decor pieces.
Tumblr media
Drew Barrymore’s new line is extensive and eclectic. Image: Business Wire
Like Barrymore herself, the collection is pretty eclectic in nature. It covers a range of home decor products, including furniture, lighting, wall art, dishware and even pet supplies.
In a press release for the launch, Barrymore had the following to say about her inspiration for this project:
I have always had a love for creating joyful spaces — places where unexpected prints and patterns, shapes and styles and colors and textures come together in the most delightful way. My new collection of furniture and home decor is inspired by this passion and I hope it inspires everyone to make themselves at home.
We’ve put together a list of our favorite pieces from the line for you. Check them out below:
Vintage Palm Barrel Accent Chair, $499
Tumblr media
If you want to bring a relaxed, bohemian vibe to your home, look no further than this statement-worthy accent chair. Its clean lines and vintage pattern will bring those vacation home vibes to your design in just the right way.
Rattan Oval Wall Mirror, $69
Tumblr media
If pieces like this are any indication, rattan is set to make a comeback in a big way. We love the way this mirror’s oval shape and interwoven loops give it a modern twist by providing a nod to the current geometric trend.
Zig Zag Table Lamp with Grecian Blue Velvet Shade, $75
Tumblr media
Sometimes a lamp can be more than just a lighting fixture. It can be a statement piece in its own right. This zigzag table lamp proves it. We can’t get over how well the blue velvet shade pops against the monochromatic pattern on the base.
Vintage Marble 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, $60
Tumblr media
Who says dishware can’t be fun? This vintage marble 16-piece dishware set is enough to brighten up any meal. Plus, if you’re not a fan of pink and yellow, you’re in luck. This set comes in a variety of patterns, including a pink and red marble design and vintage floral pattern.
Black Cat Decorative Vase, $38
Tumblr media
Cat and dog fans alike have to admit that this vase is beyond cute. There’s just something about the smiling creatures that adorn the base that will undoubtedly spark joy in your home. It’s the perfect vessel to help you put those fresh spring flowers on display.
Hand Woven Macrame 3-Piece Basket Set, $70
Tumblr media
A basket set is just so useful to have at home. Whether you’re using the baskets to store extra throw blankets or to hide children’s toys from view, there’s no doubt that this set will come in handy. Plus, its neutral color scheme ensures that it will fit in with just about any aesthetic.
Vintage Sun Wood Frame Pet Bed, $199
Tumblr media
Every pet lover knows that their pet deserves the best. This wood frame pet bed will make sure that Fluffy or Fido is sleeping in style. The pillow also comes in a pale blue pattern in case that’s more in line with your pet’s personal tastes.
Ceramic Ombre Side Table, $89
Tumblr media
It looks like the ombre trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. This pink ceramic side table is a great way to add a fun pop of color to your design. Consider adding it to your teen’s bedroom to give her a place to store odds and ends or using it to make a statement in an eclectic living room.

Not all wall art has to be complicated. This simple design is unobtrusive enough to go well in any room, yet the bold colors will inject a feeling of energy and vibrancy into the space.
Tufted Chaise Lounge, $799

There’s nothing like a chaise lounge to make you feel like royalty. The subdued shade and plush pillows on this one only serve to drive that feeling home. This piece would be the perfect addition to any bedroom seating area or formal living space.
