Pleasant conversation had been stalled by the room being turned to black and there’s some quip on his tongue to cut through the silence. A moment later he’s pulling out his lighter, only to notice and extra body in the room. The intruder was dealt with swiftly when for all he preferred words as his weapon of choice, he’d earned the right to choose them over violence. A dull thud echoes as the body hits the floor and he crouches for a moment, lighter flickering across the features of the would be assailant. There’s an unsettling realisation that he recognises the man but has no knowledge of the plan, it dawning on him that someone in the Lannister faction is acting without his knowledge. He would deal with that later and his suspicions later.
He rose smoothly to his feet, seemingly unaffected by it all. Blazer was pulled straight once more, shoulders setting themselves back in a show of confidence before he spoke. Voice cut clearly through the quiet, authoritative tone noticeable within them. He always had known how to take charge. “We should barricade the door.” With a click the lighter flickers into life once more and he uses it to motion to a table. “This ought to do it.”

If You Think This Has a Happy Ending… 1
It’s finally time to return to the beautiful, cruel world of Game of Thrones. I’m sure we’re in for excitement, joy, and heartbreak… and a bit of disgust from all the blood that will likely be spilled. Game of Thrones 7×01 Dragonstone Recap
SPOILER ALERT! This is a recap, not a review. It’s full of spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 1 and everything leading up to it.

So where were we?
The Dead
Margaery, Loras, and Mace Tyrell, the High Sparrow and Lancel Lannister died when Cersei Lannister (with help from Qyburn) blew up the Great Sept of Baelor. Grand Maester Pycelle was stabbed by Qyburn’s little birds shortly before.
King Tommen, the poor boy, committed suicide by stepping out of a window in the Red Keep. I use the word “stepping” intentionally, because he didn’t throw himself out of the window, he didn’t jump. It all seemed like a formality. This death, the death of a child forced to play king, manipulated by everyone from every side, was one of the most heartbreaking ones of the entire show.
Ramsay Bolton finally met his end when Sansa Stark fed him to his own dogs. Her sister Arya, wearing the face of a servant, served Walder Frey a pie containing the flesh of two of his sons. After revealing herself for who she is, she slit Lord Frey’s throat in revenge for the Red Wedding. The North remembers.
The Living
Cersei Lannister has been crowned queen, her brother Jaime watching the ceremony with little joy on his face. She is supported by Qyburn and the Mountain, but few others. Bronn returned to King’s Landing with Jaime.
Arya Stark has started her Revenge Tour of the Seven Kingdoms and murdered Walder Frey and two of his sons.
Sansa Stark, Jon Snow, Tormund Giantsbane, Ser Davos and Littlefinger are all in Winterfell after the Battle of the Bastards. They’re discussing their next steps with their allied Lords of the North and Wildlings. Jon has exiled Melisandre, even though Davos voted to have her executed, her location is currently unknown.
After saving them Bran Stark and Meera Reed, Benjen Stark has left them again. Bran resolves to take on his new role as the Three-Eyed Raven and has a vision of the past, which reveals that Jon Snow is – as so many fans predicted – the son of Lyanna, not Ned Stark. (And probably also Rhaegar Targaryen, but that hasn’t been “officially” confirmed.)
Olenna Tyrell has joined forces with Ellaria Sand and the Sand Snakes. They are siding with Daenerys Targaryen. She has left Daario Naharis behind to ensure peace in Mereen and is now definitely on the way to Westeros. Apart from Varys, she is joined on her ship by Tyrion Lannister, Missandei, and Grey Worm. Also crossing the Narrow Sea at her side are Yara and Theon Greyjoy with their Ironborn, her Dornish allies, and of course her dragons.
Samwell Tarly, Gilly, and Little Sam have reached the Citadel, where Sam is allowed to stay, although Gilly and her child have to stay in Oldtown, not the Citadel itself. Brienne of Tarth and Podrick Payne were last seen leaving Riverrun after it was sacked by the Lannisters. Ser Jorah is presumably still looking for a cure for greyscales.
So Where Are We Going?
