Yuki Kaiou's Bachelorette Challenge
Ok so after a lot of thought, I decided to make a BC to find a life partner for Yuki!
Now, who's Yuki?
Yuki is the 5th generation heir of the Kaious legacy. She grew up in Riverview in the midst of her family wealth, and didn't know yet what she would want of life, but as a typical golden child of a rich family, she wants to do crime 🙄 She and her nuclear family moved out to Twinbrook searching for a fresh air, but Yuki doesn't feel like the town has anyone "worthy" of her... Hence the bachelorette challenge!
Traits: Hates children - Clumsy - Bookworm - Loves the heat - Clepto LTW: Become a Master Thief
Rules:
Vanilla sims only.
Young Adult sims. (I forgot to add that sorry x.x)
Sims of any gender, since Yuki is bisexual.
Human or witch sims only allowed.
No Irresistible trait.
CC allowed, but don't exagerate and please refrain from using high poly CC. If you send me a sim with any high poly item I will take the liberty to change it. Store content is encouraged, if you use it please link me the pieces (it will be provided by blams fwiw).
Please no custom sliders.
I have all EPs and SPs (yeah even Katy Perry), so feel free to dress up your sim with it!
Don't forget to introduce your sim with a short bio!
Upload you sim in .sim format, preferably with a .txt with links of the CC used. I will not accept sims in .sims3pack.
Deadline: October 31st, plenty of time, but could be extended if I don't get all the contestants in time. There are 8 slots available. To participate, you need to make a post introducing your sim and then send me an ask with the download link ☺️
Update Oct 11th: Closed for applications! Thank you so much to everyone who took an interest, I was really thinking this would flop lol
Contestants:
1- @berriespunches - Charlotte Lowery

One brilliant Sunday morning, my wife and boys went to the Unitarian Chapel in Macclesfield. I felt it impossible to accompany them—as though to leave the sunshine on the hills, and go down there to the chapel, would be for the time an act of spiritual suicide. And I felt such need for new inspiration and expansion in my life. So, very reluctantly and sadly, I left my wife and boys to go down into the town, while I went further up into the hills with my stick and my dog. In the loveliness of the morning, and the beauty of the hills and valleys, I soon lost my sense of sadness and regret. For nearly an hour I walked along the road to the ‘Cat and Fiddle,’ and then returned. On the way back, suddenly, without warning, I felt that I was in Heaven—an inward state of peace and joy and assurance indescribably intense, accompanied with a sense of being bathed in a warm glow of light, as though the external condition had brought about the internal effect—a feeling of having passed beyond the body, though the scene around me stood out more clearly and as if nearer to me than before, by reason of the illumination in the midst of which I seemed to be placed. This deep emotion lasted, though with decreasing strength, until I reached home, and for some time after, only gradually passing away.
John Trevor, My Quest for God
I like to think of it; imagine those toiling pagans doing honour to the very sun now in the sky above me, & for some perverse reason I find this a more deeply impressive temple of Religion — block laid to block, & half of them tumbled in ruin so long that the earth almost hides them, than that perfect spire whence prayer & praise is at this very moment ascending.
It is matter for thought surely, if not for irony, that as one stands on the ruins of Stonehenge, one can see the spire of Salisbury Cathedral.
Virginia Woolf on her visit to Stonehenge (quoted in A Passionate Apprentice: The Early Journals, 1897-1909, edited by Mitchell A. Leaska)

From James Bond to Fred Astaire, the "silver" necktie is a hallmark of sartorial elegance.
According to menswear guru Alan Flusser, the Macclesfield necktie, a silk group of patterns made from small weaves of diamonds, squares, and circles, became especially fashionable among well-dressed British men in the early 1920s. These small geometrics were first made in contrasting tones of gray, black, and white, giving a marquetry effect across the surface of the tie. They were the specialty of the textile weavers from Macclesfield, a small town in Lancashire, northwest England. Among the world's sartorial literati, the Macclesfield necktie continues to enjoy his long-standing reputation as the quintessence of upper-class English taste. Referred to as a 'wedding tie' in certain circles, this silvery necktie became began its venerable career as the obligatory long tie for formal day attire, meeting weddings and other daytime celebrations.
Here are a few of my own Macclesfield ties, both in the 'silver" color way
And in colors as well
Collected over the years from suppliers like Polo and Addison on Madison
And the shop where Astaire bought his own ties, Bowring Arundel of Savile Row.
Cary Grant was a fan which tells you all you need to know about these ties.

There's all sorts going on from the 20th to the 23rd of June, but the main event is on the 22nd, where I will be in the traditional comicon artist alley in the Town Hall from 10-4pm. Hope to see you there!

● Ian Curtis’s Grave - Macclesfield 04/04/24
I recommend for anyone to go. The cemetery is beautiful and is featured in the end of the film Control. Macclesfield is also a great town, the mural to Ian is beautiful as well.

Body Shop to shut 75 stores and cut hundreds of jobs

By Dearbail Jordan
BBC News
The Body Shop will close 75 shops in the UK over the coming weeks and cut 489 jobs, according to the firm overseeing its restructuring.
It means that, combined with cost-cutting at the company’s head office, between 750 and 800 people will be made redundant.
However, The Body Shop will keep 116 UK stores open.
The UK arm of the global beauty chain was put into administration earlier this month.
Shops will be closed over the next four to six weeks. FRP Advisory, which is managing the restructuring, said it would “support all impacted staff with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service”.
“In taking swift action to right-size The Body Shop UK store portfolio, we have stabilised the business,” said FRP Advisory’s Tony Wright.
“We remain fully focused on exploring all options to take the business forward.”
The Body Shop was a trailblazer – what went wrong?
The Body Shop was founded in Brighton in 1976 by the late Dame Anita Roddick who opened a single shop in the seaside town. Known for its natural beauty products and its stance against testing on animals, it expanded rapidly in the following years.
Dame Anita and her husband Gordon sold the business to French beauty giant L’Oreal in 2006, much to the chagrin of some loyal followers who viewed the French beauty giant’s business at odds with The Body Shop’s ethos.
Since then, The Body Shop has changed hands twice, most recently to private equity firm Aurelius in late 2023. Within weeks, it decided to place the UK arm in administration following poor sales over Christmas and January.
Wildly popular in the 1980s and 1990s, The Body Shop appeared to fall out of fashion as competitors arrived in the natural beauty market including Lush and Rituals.
The UK shops closing are:

🐸 Amphibiuary 2023: The Zine! 🐸
I have compiled all of the art I've made for Amphibiuary 2023 into a zine! You can buy it on my Ko-fi page, and if I've done it right it should ship all over the world:
I've done this mainly in preparation for attending my hometown's local comic art festival MaccPow where I will be an exhibitor again this year! If I happen to have any followers who live in or near Macclesfield on the 1st of July, pop into the town hall, say hi and peruse my wares 🐸
