lady helna redfort - the vale.
( DILRABA DILMUART, CIS WOMAN, SHE / HER. ) could that really be HELNA REDFORT, the LADY REDFORT of THE VALE entering the keep ? king’s landing is sure to benefit from the TWENTY NINE year old’s ability to be both PLAYFUL and CONSIDERATE, but beware, whispers also say they have been known to be NAIVE and SUPERSTITIOUS. their loyalty belongs to THEMSELVES and they SUPPORT the notion of peace throughout westeros.
NAME. helna redfort. AGE. twenty nine. GENDER. cis woman. PRONOUNS. she / her. TITLE. lady of the vale. HOUSE. house redfort. SEXUAL ORIENTATION. straight.
at only a few years of age helna lost both her parents, her mother to childbirth when her younger sibling was born - her father following shortly after. it's said he died of a broken heart. as the middle child to the late ruling lord and his wife, helna was always a handful growing up - especially prone to acting out because of their unstable childhood. looking up to her older brother, now ruling lord, as both a big brother and father figure all in one, helna idolised him and continues to to this day even if she doesn't always agree with his actions.
despite the tragedy in her childhood, helna has adapted her playful nature even as an adult. she's care free when she's able to be and has a natural way of putting the people around her at ease. her playfulness has been known to get her into trouble on more than one occasion, more than once leading on a lord or two with no intention of following through.
most would consider her independent and sometimes naive to her own actions and those of who she loves. but her unlucky start in life has left her superstitious.

helna had gone to the library for some quiet - outside it felt as if the whole of kings landing were unsettled with the new kings of the kings hand. when it came to times like these she'd much rather the company of books over people. she knew grief well enough and knew how terrible it could be for those it affected directly. she felt for the arryn family and knew they'd likely need space while getting little of it... but that was how it worked, wasn't it? a man would be mourned for a short while and then the world would move on.
deep in thought as she read the pages of the book in front of her, she paid little mind to anyone else until she heard the panicked voice immediately concern immediately forcing her to look up. quickly, helna's feet carried her in the direction of the noise and there she found the lady thyra hanging on for dear life. " oh - " it took her a moment to realise what had just happened but as soon as she did hands gripped the ladder to hold it steady, the other reaching out to the woman. " it's still, you can come down. i'll hold onto it. "
open: ft. thyra & -- ( no cap ) location: the library
thyra's thoughts needed quieting, silencing for the millions of them that were running wild. The woman wanted to for the sake of her chosen sisters get to the bottom of things faster than the presumably inept questioner, head of spies and city watch would find the feller of lords. Being just a lady, one of Lynara's, there was only so much she could do visibly so research needed to be put into work and then findings passed to those who may need them. She pulled volumes from shelves on interesting subjects, things that were a little macabre but this was a much more massive library then the one in winterfell or the collection of books she'd curated for hornwood. Fingers gently caressed the spine of an old, dusty and neglected book and gave a soft sigh. "You poor darling. See how poorly they care for you. This will change, now that you have a lover of books in the keep and - oh !" She moved too much in the small amount of space she could occupy, a couple of the books she was retrieving tumbled to the ground from the top of her ladder and the legs of the wooden thing wobbled dangerously. Thyra gasped clutching the ladder she stood toward the top of and the shelf nearly losing balance before the ladder stopped its dangerous wobble. Her knuckles were white as tightly as she gripped both things. Her faith in the ladder was dubious now, clearing her throat to call out. "Anyone - I - could someone - help please?" She spoke waiting and wondering if the eventual approaching footsteps would rescue her or cast a judging glance up at the lady on the ladder.

the tavern wasn't the type of place helna would usually find herself, the guards had on more than one occasion tried to insist she went to the library but the lady redfort was stubborn to the bone. since they were to remain here until the king said otherwise she saw no reason not to indulge in a little drink to pass the time, what harm could it do? though now she was getting ready to sit she had her doubts. " i... " it was about time she made a few friends outside of her own house, was it not? " i'll buy them, just don't tell my brother. " helna proceeded to sit down with a grin. " he will not be pleased with me. "
libation loosened the tongues of many, ale and wine flowing freely in the tavern as was the gossip falling from the lips of nobility and commoners alike. arianne did not often indulge yet considering the circumstances she found herself hooked onto every word to parse through later and determine what could be used and what was nonsense. another joining the table had conversation skittering into silence, the princess's gaze flickering to the new face. “ we have just discussed the next person that wishes to sit must buy a round of ale for the lot of us. would you still like to claim that spot ? "
