Welcome to a small hub for If I Make It Through Tonight! Here you’ll find a medieval AU where Logan the librarian stumbles upon a real conspiracy surrounding the nobles in charge of his town and ends up getting help from his friends the baker and the thief—and an enemy knight.

Hello again or for the first time! It’s time for my second big Sides AU to go live!! It’s in that specific medieval fantasy niche but with limited (to no) fantasy and instead focusing on the four struggling to uncover a conspiracy. This isn’t necessarily a logicality (or prinxiety) relationship fic, but the more I work on this the blurrier the lines become and so you can read between said lines as either romantic or platonic, depending on whichever makes you more comfortable. This is a song that bounces off the walls, doesn't shut the fuck up, saves the world from killer viruses and 100 foot tall robots, and truly does believe that if he can just find a unified theory, then finally everyone will just hear him out.

2) Why did you choose your URL?

My URL is derived from MythicalBookWorm. I wanted this to be it originally but it was already taken :( I created it back in 2020 when I joined a little kids coding website called Scratch. Now how I came up with it? No fun story there. Just stared at the sign-up pages for a while, trying to come up with characteristics about me before this popped into my head. Ever since then this has been my user online. After all, Scratch got me into art and animation, and online in general. I still really like the URL and it is officially me online.

3) What is your middle name?

I don't feel comfortable saying it as it is apart of my real name. However: In the context of my full name, I like my middle name. It flows extremely nicely and is the reason my parents gave me it, along with the name being in the family once before. By itself though? Never liked it. In or out of context I have always hated the name. Put it on anyone, anything, don't like it.

4) If you could be any mythical creature, what would you be?

Isn't funny how I have contemplated this a lot? Now if we were going by personality, I would definitely be a phoenix. However, this is choice. So 100% dragon! Think about it: flight, fire, and fingers! It's the best combination of fun, powerful, and convenient/realistic. Plus wouldn't it be cool to roll your throat and make those super intimidating throat growls?

Magenta! 2nd is Lavender, 3rd is Teal/Cyan.

IDKHow is my #1 Spamton-adjacent band, as I call it. This an all in one Spamton song! I imagine it to follow him from the end of his Big Shot era to the NEO transformation. There are so many good lyrics, lemme outline them real quick:

“Big shot, so what? Do you wanna pretend? You took the money but the money couldn’t buy a friend.” Self explanatory. Even tho he wasn’t in it for the money (just the freedom), he did lose his friends lmao. Illustrates the end of his Big Shot era.

“You’re a big shot here but nobody else knows. Now I want you to leave me alone.” The titular lyric is of course a reference to the phone calls.

“Mad as a hatter with the dagger in the dollar sign” A decent summary of dumpster Spam.

This is a SNEO song all the way. I imagine him singing it as he grapples with the realization that his new body did not free him from his strings. I’ll highlight key lyrics again:

Does Lemon Demon’s Spirit Phone album strike anyone else as a midlife crisis? I love this album, and I feel like this theory adds some depth! Of course, none of this is a one-to-one comparison. It's simply a thematic vibe.

1: Lifetime Achievement Award is about being resurrected because of your musical achievements. The only reason you're allowed to live is to create content. "Good luck getting into heaven, if you live past 27," is a notable line.

2: Touch Tone Telephone is about striving your whole life to work at something no one cares about. No one listens to you, so you keep repeating "I'm a genius before my time" to yourself.

3: Cabinet Man is about a man getting trapped in his own nostalgia.

4: When He Died is about a man dying, and only his art is left behind. However, he lives on through that art! Art is his legacy.

5: As Your Father I Expressly Forbid It is written from the perspective of his father's midlife crisis.

6: I Earn My Life is literally a midlife crisis song. Terrified of death, you continue to work so you can "earn your life".

7: Man-Made Object is about trying to leave a legacy by building something great. That great thing is an effigy to yourself, as if building it will make your life worthwhile.

8: Spiral of Ants is about being caught in a never ending cycle, like ants. Some notable lyrics include, "Lift up and carry your weight ," and "Don't feel surrounded by death."

I looooooove love love Lemon Demon, especially the Spirit Phone album! I have the album on vinyl :D! I went with Touch-Tone Telephone because it’s the song that introduced me to his music! It was used in a Hollow Knight animatic by Kandy Songbird on YouTube, which is where I first heard it. Anyways, Lemon Demon has some of my favorite songs

We have Good News For People Who Love Bad News on vinyl, and I’ve been listenin to it a lot lately! This song always ends up getting stuck in my head, I like it a lot!

4. Punchin’ Bag by Cage the Elephant

This was SUCH a hard choice because the whole Tell Me I’m Pretty album is SO good aughhhhhhh! We’ve got it on vinyl and I’ve been listenin to it a TON, so yeah, super hard choice. Definitely worth a listen!!

5. Cannibal Queen by Miniature Tigers

Picking a fifth song was super hard because I am. So indecisive. But I’ll go with this because it’s a really good song that I really like!!

I love Vacations as a whole, I literally love this song and it’s even a song I have in a headcanon with Starmora for some reason. I happen to listen to this when I’m driving or traveling somewhere. It’s always a song that either puts me in a mellowed out mood or a sad one, which I’m fine with either. It’s been a favorite of mine for awhile.

I actually have this on vinyl, I’m a vinyl collector and couldn’t pass Tame Impala’s music down as it allows me to like different styles of music that I can’t seem to find anywhere else. It makes my brain work sometimes in ways I can’t understand. (Also this song just hits home for me sometimes)

I always find myself going back to this song, why? Because it’s a summer vibe for me. I’ve never liked anyone in my whole life, so I find it charming that I like music that talks about liking someone or just romance in general. I hope one day I can actually enjoy my music taste with a significant other but we’re not going to talk about it LOL.

Alfie templeman. He’s one of the few artist I listen to that I can listen to every single playlist without having to skip a song (I also snagged this one and a couple others from my Starmora playlist) he’s so pleasing to the ears. It’s amazing how well his music sounds to me.

Finally, Fleetwood Mac. I actually have the vinyl of this album on my list of records I need to get, but the main reason I love this song so much is because of GOTG v2. I feel like every time I watch that movie there’s a reason why they chose to play that song when Quill decides to fight his dad, I mean, James always has a reason for picking these songs and I always believe it’s because of family bondage, abandonment. It’s about overcoming what family trauma has chained up and I love it for that. Everytime this song comes on and I have my Guardians playlist on shuffle, I’m singing along. It’s my all time favorite Fleetwood Mac song (besides Everywhere, of course)

Every now and then I'm seized by the urge to make some really inane, overly specific top 5 lists and/or to project my tastes in pop culture onto characters I like, so: here's my list of top 5 list of heroes characters I think would listen to lemon demon

5. Claire- this is actually a big plot point in my fanfiction, but I can't imagine her being a superfan or anything. Chances are good that she's only listened to Spirit Phone and maybe one or two songs from the other albums. Her favourite songs are "Lifetime Achievement Award" and "Eighth Wonder"

4. Mohinder- you'd think he's also only listed to Spirit Phone from the way he talks about it, but he's actually listened to virtually all of Neil's music, even a bunch of the really early stuff. But even after all that, "Touch Tone Telephone" remains his favourite song of all time. (He's also partial toward "Ancient Aliens")

3. Hiro- this one may surprise you, but I feel like he'd be a big fan of Neil Cicierega's body of work. His favourite albums overall are Damn Skippy and Dinosaurchestra, but there are some songs on View-Monster he likes as well, particularly "Sundial". Predictably, his all-time favourite song is "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny"

2. Micah- I mean, do I even have to explain this one? Of course Micah listens to Lemon Demon. His favourite albums are Dinosaurchestra (his favourite song from it is "Action Movie Hero Boy") and View-Monster (his favourite songs from it are "The Afternoon" and (of course) "The Machine"). Probably makes lemonverse OCs and posts about them online. Love that for him

- Ending instrumental really works, despite me not liking a similar thing in TTT

- Obviously it’s one of the most popular songs on the album

7. three songs you didn’t expect to like but eventually loved

“To Noise Making (Sing),” Hozier. I had to force myself to like Hozier at first, because i grew up thinking honest, truthful, and poetic displays of love and admiration were embarrassing. luckily, Wasteland, Baby! came out my first year of college, so I had a bunch of new content to listen to on my own terms. “To Noise Making” was too raw and honest at first - but this year, it started speaking a little different, after I came to terms with how i was forced to give up music. now i love this song, and it’s my favorite off the album, ahead of “Dinner & Diatribes.”

This one is honestly just because I was so fucking bewildered by it, but: “Touch Tone Telephone,” Lemon Demon. I’d never heard the song before, or heard any of Neil’s works (not even potter puppet pals, ok, i was a sheltered child with no internet until i turned 16), and I had no idea what to expect. I was hooked within the first eight measures. If it comes on shuffle when I’m driving, I scream the lyrics. I make my friends play it in the car. I’m insufferable about this song and I do not care. 

12. three favourite songs from video games

“Wet Hands,” C418 - Minecraft. I started playing Minecraft in 2019, so I didn’t grow up with it, but every time I hear this song it just sends a wave of peace and nostalgia over me. The whole Minecraft soundtrack makes me feel inexplicably sad and yearning and i don’t know why. i mean i do but we’re not going down that rabbit hole tonight lmao

“Home Sweet Home,” Christophe Heral - Beyond Good and Evil. I found this game in the bargain bin at Target in middle school and loved it. The main character Jade is at least partly responsible for my gay awakening. Even Griffin Mcelroy likes it; I found a post-E3 2017 video interview on the Polygon channel where he talks about the sequel’s announcement, and how he enjoyed the first game quite a bit. The game’s got a super unique art style, and this song plays when you’re driving your hovercraft through the Venice-like canals and bays of this game’s world.
