stature: What's your OC's body type? How tall are they? Do they wear clothing to accentuate their look or do they try to mask it?

Lynk is 5’7” (170cm) and their body is quite small, lean and lanky, almost petite. Wide looking shoulders, but mostly because their waist is sooo thin. They have top surgery scars from a slight breast reduction and nip removal. Also, a good time to note that they were born without their right arm, they have a cyber arm mount but it's more for easy maintenance than swapping arms.

Their style shows off their body quite a bit, form-fitting pants and open button-ups are a staple.

night: What does your OC wear to sleep? Do they have a favorite pair of PJs, or are they more the birthday suit type?

Definitely more of a birthday suit type of guy. They only wear boxer briefs to sleep because they live in a house with other people.

Lynk wears a metric fuckton of rings and bracelets and necklaces. All in silver and usually thrifted from wherever they can find them. They do have one ring that they got from their father that's pretty special to them.

Hey hi hello, first of all, thank you so so much for asking about my babes, and second I'm so so sorry about this whole ass essay I've word vomited out (I'm not at all sorry).

I'm actually gonna put this under a readmore cuz it is in fact longer than most of the essays I wrote in high school fr

Kay so this little love story needs a bit of backstory bc Lynk is a messy bitch when it comes to relationships.

So, before Lynk and Dallas had even met Lynk was in a very toxic relationship. Their partner was distant, they would fight over petty things, and they’d frequently take ‘breaks’. The most important bit though was their partner's jealousy over Lynks rising fame. Their partner was a rockerboy too and they had gotten together when Lynk was just starting out and couldn’t stand to see Lynk's fame starting to overshadow theirs.

Overall just a very shitty and messy situation that Lynk was too comfortable in to leave.

With that bit of information said, Lynk and their partner were very much still together when they met Dallas. Lynk and his partner had had a petty fight over some bullshit and ended up ‘on a break’ previous one of their concerts, and Lynk was on the hunt for a rebound. That rebound ended up being Dallas. Lynk was always attracted to the most interesting person in the room and Dallas was definitely that.

They had a one-night stand and during their post dock smoke, Lynk had asked Dallas to join the band after she mentioned that she played guitar. Their previous guitarist had left and Lynk found themself deeply interested in Dallas’ character. They appreciated her upfront, no-bullshit attitude and were intrigued by her rather attentive nature beneath her brutish personality.

It took Dallas a week to think over her initial apprehension about being held down to one place. In the end, though her curiosity over Lynk and the excitement of being in the band eventually got the best of her and she ended up joining.

Despite the obvious attraction, they stayed strictly friends over the next couple of years. They definitely had that playful cheeky will we won't we sexual tension underneath, but they never did. Lynk was too into his partner to do that kinda thing when they weren’t ‘on a break’

Dallas absolutely despised Lynk's partner, seeing them get ghosted and dismissed and the constant petty bullshit that their partner would bring up pissed them off to no end. The only reason she never got into an actual fight with them was that she knew it would upset Lynk.

Now this next bit is kinda the inciting incident to their budding romance.

In an effort to boost their fame, Lynk's partner ended up making some shady dealings with an even shadier group. In the end, their partner failed to live up to their end of the arrangement and it ended up blowing back on Lynk. Their partner was too much of an asset to the group so they decided to make an example of their ‘loved’ one instead.

All that to say that's how Lynk lost their jaw to the business end of a shotgun. The only way Lynk managed to live was their partner using their magic on them to keep them from just bleeding out on the floor.

Lynk’s jaw, neck, and spine needed to be completely replaced and they were wheelchair-bound for months while they went through physiotherapy to relearn how to walk. During this time Dallas became their primary caretaker. Never in Lynk's life have they had to rely on someone else so entirely and never in Dallas's life did she have someone well being placed in her hands. The whole experience put them both out of their comfort zones and really showed each other sides of themselves they don’t normally show.

Unfortunately, this soul-bearing experience wasn’t really enough to get them to realize their feeling for each other. Lynk had pretty much sworn off relationships completely after almost getting killed and Dallas had never been in a serious relationship before so how was she supposed to know what it felt like?

The closeness they felt and the need to be around each other just kept ramping up. The longing stares, the constant need for physical contact, and the late-night soul-bearing talks deep into the night were just attributed to being 'really close chooms'. The classic trope of being utterly hopelessly in love with your best friend but not really realizing it.

In the end, their relationship didn't really have a set starting date. Just at some point, they had their simple ‘oh’ moments. They never really said anything, but their whole dynamic shifted. There was no more hesitation in ‘friendly’ I love yous and PDA wasn’t hidden in a veil of comradely teasing. Just a simple acceptance of a relationship years in the making.

There are a lot of little details and more things I would like to touch on eventually but this is the general gist of how things went down. Honestly, if you read to the end of this, god bless i’m so sorry (i’m not).

6. which of the four elements would you associate with them?

Okay, so when I first created Lynk I definitely had fire in mind but as I've felt out their character I've found the opposite, water, to be more fitting.

The deep emotional intensity that water invokes just fits their vibe and personality best. Thinking of Lynk often does make me think of the ocean; vast, deep, undifferentiated, chaotic, and kinda overwhelming.

I have a lot of feelings about this but not the vocabulary to describe it yet so ill just leave it there.

19. is your character from night city? if no, where were they born? what brought them to night city? if yes, what area of the city did they grow up?

Lynk was originally born in a little rural town in England. He spent most of his early childhood there with his mother and father. 

Shortly after their little brother Sunny was born, their mother passed away and their father was emotionally devastated. The depression set in and their father lost his job and could no longer support the kids emotionally or financially.

He ended up sending both the kids (Sunny age 10 and Lynk age 13) away to live with their Aunt and Uncle from their mother's side in Rancho Coronado, Night City.

28. are they quick to help a stranger in need or do they prefer to stay out of other peoples business?

As much as Lynk wants to just go out and help those in need, they’ve spent enough time in Night City to know that’s how you get yourself killed.

If it's pocket change for a beggar and they’ve got a little extra they’re more willing to help. If it comes to a firefight or favors, they’re not risking their life for some rando on the street.

Lynk’s out there trying to start a movement, they can’t do that if they’re dead.

31. who are their closest chooms in NC?

To be honest, Lynk doesn’t have many close chooms outside his bandmates and Yvonne. They’re very tight-nit with their close chooms if you don’t click just right with them or have the right vibe they’ll put up quite a few walls. They’ve been burned one too many times not to.

Edit: OKAY, dunno how she completely slipped my mind when writing this but Lynk and Misty are 100% good chooms. When Lynk was looking into tarot and spiritualism Misty was one of the few people he found that wasn't weird or batshit crazy. So they actually got quite close spending time together talking about that type of stuff.

2. how old are they? how long have they been living on their own?

Oh boy, ages are my worst enemy, I'm terrible at timelines so it's subject to change but at this moment, Lynk is 28-ish. They've also never really lived on their own, they left home with their little brother Sunny when Lynk was 21 and Sunny was 18. They’ve been living with their brother and their other bandmates ever since.

33. what is/was their relationship like with their parents? 

Dallas’ mother is unfortunately out of the picture and her relationship with her bio-dad was... not great to put it lightly. After her mother disappeared Dallas’ dad was left with a child he had no idea how to raise alone. Add on the fact that Dallas is half-werewolf, he was so utterly unprepared that he just checked out emotionally early on in her childhood.

He spent most of his time either at work or at the bar and he would flip between being completely emotionally absent to a full-on drunken tirade, yelling and screaming about how he didn’t ask to raise her alone and his life would be so much better if she wasn’t there.

At 16 she took that sentiment to heart, packed up her stuff, and left for good. They've lost all contact and Dallas has no desire to rekindle any type of relationship. As far as she's concerned he's dead to her.

Hadn’t actually thought about his personality type before this but turns out Luis is a Consul (ESFJ-A). So he has the Extraverted, Observant, Feeling, and Judging personality traits.

27. have they ever had run ins with the badges?

What kind of rockerboy would they be if they didn't?

They have a loooong list of misdemeanor charges from their younger days like public intoxication, disorderly conduct, trespassing, vandalism, resisting arrest, and drug possession just to name a handful.

In their band's early days, they didn’t have many connections or venue availability so their go-to was breaking into abandoned industrial areas and playing until the cops showed up. By then though Lynk would be piss drunk and more than ready to take the fall well their other bandmates booked it outta there. Getting into fights with pigs was their favorite part of playing at places like that, even if they always got their ass beat.

Nowadays Lynk keeps a lower profile. They have a lot more to lose and getting into shit fights with cops just isn’t worth it anymore.

30. is your oc a social butterfly or more of a loner?

It all depends on the situation with Lynk. If it's a room full of strangers then they’re more of a wallflower, but if it's a bunch of their chooms then they're totally open and love being the center of attention.

In a room full of people they don’t know they’ll often stand off to the side and try and scope out the most interesting person in the room to talk to. If they can’t find someone they usually just leave unless they’re obligated to be there. Being around people who can't hold an actually interesting conversation or people who put on a fake 'nice' persona really run them down to be around. If they're forced to talk with people like that they'll act moody and provoke them to try and get a rise out of them just to see what really makes them tick.

Get them in a room with a bunch of their close chooms though and watch them turn the charisma up to 10. They’re cracking jokes and being a weirdo, doing the complete opposite of what people initially think they’d act like. Not particularly high energy but definitely more of a funny goofball than you’d expect from their looks.

Lynk is biig into pain play and bondage.

Scratching, biting, and cutting are all huge turn-ons for them and if they don’t walk out afterward covered in bruises and blood it probably wasn’t worth it for them.

They feel the same about getting restrained, he prefers bigger partners who he knows can throw him around and hold him down. Rope play is one of their more intimate kinks so they tend not to indulge in it unless they have a partner they really trust. Being restrained by someone's hands or even a belt is usually more than enough for him though.

They’re also lowkey into leather, they’d never admit it but there's a reason 95% of their wardrobe is leather pants.
