RIGHT!???? RIGHT!???!!!!!?? lyher ZERO skips, every song completely unique and stands strong on its own, a bit of something for everyone and all of it perfected down to the last note. Meanwhile lytear with 5, count em, FIVE car insurance commercial sounding snoozers that I couldn't tell apart if I tried, a title song that could honestly use a rearrangement, a 2012 black eyed peas reject, a mumbletrap outro that you couldn't pay me to listen to, a completely random latin influence song (kind of a slay honestly) and anpanman (kind of a slay honestly). They're always like "we made this album during the hardest time of our careers 😢🤕" like um yeah WE CAN TELL you just threw some shit together haphazardly and hoped it would stick. And everyone on its dick because oh COINCIDENTALLY that's the first album bts dropped after getting american eyes on them. Fuck offfffffff

I'm more forgiving to Prime, since it' basically a story that won't have any long-lasting consequences (Sonic breaks the universe and has to put it together, returning to the last saved point, lol). Plus it actually does something cool with the game cast (resentful and cruel Tails that is just one step from becoming Eggman, cyborg ninja Amy or eco-terrorist one, Pirate Knuckles who is hunted by failure, Rouge as the leader of a resistance army? Sign me in!)

IDW in the lyher hand is treated as a continuation to Forces, to the point where the game cast is just as useful since the real stars are the comic's original characters... and now that it's considered canon, I can see the comic staff focus on those characters even more in a bid to influence fans into gaslighting Sega to add them into the actual games, and in the same level as the game characters... if not more.

At least ST still has the final say on what is canon and what isn't... for now

Hmm, in the case of IDW and Prime, it feels like there'd be a lot less infighting and confusion if both were described as "borrows universe elements from the games, but utimately the adaptions themselves contains their own original arcs/stories". Like Sonic X. (In any case, questions about the specifics of canon really should be more regulated/have limits between regional sanctions so fans aren't quick to get pitchforks at Sega higher-ups when they rein in someone or do damage control.)
