HEEEYYY!! Lvlupexpo is happening this weekend!! Can’t wait to see you guys there!
I will also do my best with washitape commissions for this con because I feel like I got burnt out during ALA and barely took in any during Anime Impulse OTL
..Recently during cons this year, whenever I finish a commission, I’m not satisfied with the results and I really want to make sure I am proud of the commissions you guys buy!!!
I know a lot of you are expecting it for this con specifically so I WILL POWER THROUGH THIS AAAAA
You all are so considerate and patient with me, thank you 🥺

Yoo! I really want to get a yugioh antaganist cosplay group for lvl up expo 2020! It would be open for any antagonists from DM, GX, and 5D's! I'd like to try to keep it one cosplayer per charcter! I would be cosplaying Dark Signer Kiryu and I have someone who is going to try to do Thief King! message me here or on my istagram (infernity_rose) to let me know if you are interested or have any questions!

It all began sometime around Halloween of 2019 when I looked into joing my local Las Vegas Ghostbusters group, and what they do is go to conventions, birthdays, and participate on many charity events dresses as Ghostbusters. I loved that idea and wanted to be apart of it so I started throwing together a costume, the first one I threw together was a Ghostbusters 2 blue flight suit cause at the time it’s all I had. After a few events or so I decided that I should do an original 1st movie look so that’s what I did. As mentioned before it was never intended to be a character, it was just regular me who wanted to do something good besides sit around at home doing nothing or be bored at work.
The basic process was simple but a little difficult, getting the flight suit, patches, utility belt, and all the little bits was simple because they were mostly from Amazon, but the proton pack was a bit of a challenge because it’s the one part that everyone will want to see and for that there’s two options, spend $2,000 on a full size completed pack or spend $70 on a Halloween store pack and spend even more money making it look good and work good, or have no pack at all. Being a teenager and having a terrible job there was only one option, and that’s spending money to make a Halloween store pack look good, now I haven’t been doing much because of my work schedule, but when the pack is on, it feels good because the costume feels complete.
When I attended LVL Up Expo back in February of 2020, it got a better response than I expected because the convention mostly consists of anime cosplayers, so I didn’t fit in with the theme but people LOVED the costume, I didn’t get too many pictures but I had a lot of people coming up to me and told me how much they loved the movie and how cool the costume looked. A highlight for me had to be when I ran into another Ghostbuster and we had a great time talking and giving tips on making the costume a little better.
The biggest struggle right now is getting the money to cosplay, I hate my job and trying to find one at my age is extremely difficult because I’m limited to what I can do until I’m 18 and if anything, I’m socially awkward at times because I can’t keep up with what’s going on or I just ignore people cause I can’t keep a conversation going.

At the end of February, just between the COVID 19 scare and immediate closure of businesses, Las Vegas managed to squeeze in a gaming convention known as LVL UP EXPO. It took us a bit to work through all the images and experiences we had at this convention but as our thoughts are NOW in order let’s share with you what we LIKED and DISLIKED about this event!
What We LIKED
LVL UP EXPO is held annually at the Las Vegas Convention Center in, you guessed it, Las Vegas, Nevada! This event focuses on gaming of all types (table top, pc, MMORPG, tournament, card, arcade, console, etc.) and anime (there were A LOT of anime themed vendors). In addition to virtual gaming there were also robotic championships (battle droids) AND wrestling (I know…odd, but it was there). Here is what we found to be positive aspects of this convention…
Transportation on the Monorail – Quick, Cheap, Easy and Accessible.
Line and Access Control for Badges – While there was a LONG line it only took MINUTES to get through and the staff were VERY helpful.
Game Variety – There were huge swaths of gaming that could accommodate dozens to hundreds of gamers with ease.
Programming – Albeit nominal, there were quality panels in the program with wonderful timing.
Guests – This convention packed a PUNCH with voice actresses/actors and tournament gaming champions!
Tournaments – There were “Quests” and “Championships” of all varieties from Pokemon Go challenges to LOL and Overwatch team battles!

What We DISLIKED
Every convention has its faults. Some have issues with Line and Access while others are stifled by location drama. LVL UP EXPO had few issues but there were a couple things we think could be improved upon…
Vendor Layout – There were A LOT of vendors at this event. This is great for variety but the alleys were laid out in an odd fashion. Especially when it came to the ever popular Wild Bill’s Soda booth…there were DOZENS of people in line for that vendor and it clogged up a good 1/3 of the left side of the exhibitor hall.
Wrestling – While we have nothing against wrestling we do find it troublesome when the ring is IN THE MIDDLE of the exhibitor hall. This position made navigation around that area, like Wild Bill’s, VERY difficult. It was also loud, distracting and a bit dangerous to have in such an open space.
Cosplay – Now, I LOVE Cosplay but this event had VERY little of it which honestly surprised me. Those cosplayers that we found were far and few between. We think scheduled meetups would solve this problem.
Hours of Operation – This was the STRANGEST part of this convention. Their hours were VERY limited (like 8 hours tops a day). Most gaming conventions we have attended are open from 10 AM to Midnight so to have 8 hours or less to explore the venue was a bit disheartening.
Complaints aside, we did enjoy ourselves at this event and we HIGHLY recommend you visit at least once. Be sure to check out their plans for 2021 here: https://lvlupexpo.com/

Our convention season has officially kicked off. We're pedal to the metal, busy at our final day of LVL UP EXPO and prepping in a flurry for C2E2 and everything after. We're making sacrafices to the weather gods, for safe travel and stocking up on everything you guys crave. You can find our tour schedule up in the "Calendar" section of the website. There's a few new shows added to the 2020 line up and a couple unfortunately dropped, due to schedule conflicts. If you have a question about one, just ask! See you soon! I had so much fun at this convention
It was very much needed!
Thank you to my friends for making it possible
And for babysitting me while I acted like a dumb furry lol
I unfortunately didnt get a lot of pictures, but I met so many great people and got some cool art!
I found one print of Spinel, so I snagged that! I was hoping for a charm, but aww well, maybe next time!

LVL UP Expo adventures with yours truly and @oreowithoutacause!! As you can notice I was...cosplaying a casual Hinata....but I kept forgetting to be accurate and take my glasses off... (Oh well. If this is the price I pay for being able to see...? Worth it.)
What a delight to meet a Ranma cosplayer!!!! And getting to meet the delight that is Chris Sabat? Watch the chaos of the bf meeting Sean Schemmel?
In short, a fun time all around!!!!
