2023 was a very exhausting and painful year for me. but no matter what happened in real life, i loved spending time on tumblr with my lovely mutuals. i'm a rather shy person and i'm very bad at talking online and keeping online conversations going but i honestly love every single one of you ❤️

12. favorite character to write about this year - oof this is hard because I have written so much Luke and Din that to me, they are just, so easy to work with. I mean like, I know that dinluke is the ship I write for so I tend to write them the most, but yeah they are really great characters to write about :D

13. favorite writing song/artist/album of this year - I mean like... taylor swift is definitely the top artist I've been listening to while writing this year, seeing as she was also my top spotify artist. The songs really depend on what I'm writing so it moves around too much for me to have a specific favorite.

15. something you learned this year - I either write as my only pastime for literal months on end or I do not write anything for months as well, there is no in-between. Actually there is an in-between and it is the state I am in now, which is slowly getting back into balancing writing as a pastime with other stuff.

12. favorite character to write about this year

It's definitely been Din! I usually write from a third-person limited perspective, so it's been super fun to write from his perspective. He's a very interesting, complex character that doesn't say a lot in the show itself, so it's fun to explore who he is internally - his thoughts, his fears, how he processes new information and reacts to the things happening around him. He's also my avenue for my brand of snappy comedy and quippy one-liners. Din Djarin is SUPER funny in the show, whether he means to be or not; I love exploiting that to soften up other characters. For a guy who's covered head to toe and literally shows no facial expressions, he sure knows how to make besties everywhere he goes - I explain that away with his snarky charm.

13. favorite writing song/artist/album of this year

According to my Spotify, it's Chicano Batman lmao. I love writing to stuff generally that's not in English like Japanese shoegaze/dreampop, but especially while writing my cowboy story, Chicano Batman and Orville Peck held my hand on that one.

25. a fic you read this year that you recommend everyone to read

I read a lot of excellent work this year, and it's so hard to choose just one. I'll throw a curveball at you and direct you to an excellent K/S epistolary fic called The Marriage of True Minds; it's very long, but it's brilliant and I love it so much.
