I wonder if Luxu had a Chirithy? I've seen people point out before that his hair as Xigbar has greying stripes that make it resemble a Chirithy. It could certainly be a funny coincidence or an intentional hint that Xigbar is connected to the era of Daybreak Town. But what if, instead of Luxu's Chirithy taking in his heart to protect it (like what happened to the Dandelions who became Dream Eaters), Luxu's Chirithy merged into him as a part of the body swapping process?

since we're all having fun talking about theories and headcanons before the game drops. one thing that i do want for missing link, that is mostly wishful thinking on my part, is a reveal for kairi being a descendant of the player
this is based on their parallels of being shooting stars later found washed up on a beach from the new missing link trailer, plus that one moment from KH1 where kairi's grandma tells her about the age of the fairytales and nothing else lmfao
and i want that so badly because. it would be so fucking ironic and poetic to have kairi be a direct descendant of the one person that raised and cared so much for xehanort. the player, whose memories of ephemer and skuld and chirithy and everyone else influenced xehanort into starting his whole ass spiral and descent into darkness
only for her (and sora) to be the ones to get xehanort to stop in the end. ending a cycle of sorts. for her to be haunted by the memory of xehanort, the same way xehanort was "haunted" by the memory of the player's past life
PLUS. i want it to SPECIFICALLY recontextualize kairi's inheritance of the keyblade from BBS. because kairi's reason to wield a keyblade being nothing more than an "accident" feels like such a disservice to her AND aqua??
if they could recontextualize xehanort into whole new depths in dark road, i dont see why they couldn't reframe that moment as kairi reclaiming a dormant power, her own heritage that her bloodline forgot for centuries, since knowledge about keyblades and wielders began to fade out over time to the point where people who KNEW about them thought they were evil. makes sense that as the age of fairytales is left FORGOTTEN, no one can remember how to summon a keyblade, let alone the knowledge to create one from someone's heart. but having a strong heart (one of the requisites for bequeathing ceremonies) and being in direct contact with a keyblade, could just. help jog the memory a bit
and show that yeah. kairi deserves to wield a keyblade because she has a strong heart, and because this was her heritage that was taken away from her when the worlds began to drift away from each other and so on. not because of an accident
everytime chance, fate and destiny are brought up in the saga to explain why something. happened the way it did. it carries so much weight and so many events that led to That Point. but kairi's inheritance as of right now was just. yeah, an accident. no ceremony at all AND I JUST THINK SHE DESERVES RLLY COOL THINGS OKAY

Sora is indebted to Luxord for saving his life, but Luxord also played a role in helping Sora determine his fate.
It is worth noting that Luxord has known since Kingdom Hearts II that Sora would eventually need the Wild Card. He was fully aware of the extraordinary price Sora would have to pay for misusing the power of waking, although this is a fact that is not even discussed. Knowledge of this consequence is limited to Keyblade Masters alone.
In Kingdom Hearts III Remind, we learn that Luxord is not who he claims to be; as a reminder, Xigbar is Luxu. This revelation is subtly hinted at in Luxu and Luxord’s conversation.
There’s a reason Luxord gave Sora the wild card. According to Nomura, the wildcard is key to Sora’s revival and would come into play in phase 2.

Hiii, so you may know me from the Discord server and I had a question about where Blitzø lives, the city of Luxus... so what do you plan on it looking like (tbh I think in the Mastermind ep or my rewrite of it I plan for I.M.P moving there)
And what's your idea for the geography of Hell/the rings since I noticed a map on your HUNGER profile and how did you come up with that name?!
*rubs hands together* Oh yeah, Mr. Krabs, lore questions 😏
MASSIVE lore dump ahead!
I'll answer the name question first: It's based on the idea of sin acting as a sort of never-ending, animalistic hunger, constantly wanting and wanting regardless of what pain it causes to others or to yourself, all for the sake of filling a void that only God can fill, in a Biblical sense. I originally wanted to call it "The Kingdom of Hell" but I found that pretty basic and boring aaa 😩
I've thought a bit about Hell's geography and a few differences I have from the shows are as follows:
Pride is made up mostly of thick woodlands, and the Pandemonium district takes up a small portion. Pandemonium is a residential area, so much of the forest there has been cleared for the many mansions and palaces owned by Lucifer and the Goetia. The forest is an interesting place and a very dangerous force lies with it, but that's all I'll say on that 😏
Wrath is similar to its canon counterpart, pretty much the Wild West with molten lakes and extreme heat. I'll go a step further and say it's got elements of a chaparral biome, so the place isn't completely barren. Everything native to Wrath has adapted to the heat, including the local fauna and crops, so food exports tend to mainly be bought by imps and Satan (other creatures buy it if they think they can handle the spice or if they want to watch others suffer eating it).
Gluttony is a much bigger food export location, and much of its territory is devoted to factory farming and agriculture. Zuph, Beelzebub's city, rests within a beehive-like dome in order to protect from factory fumes. It mostly exists for grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and clubs, with residential areas mainly existing for those working at said locations.
Greed and Luxus are pretty interesting, imo, with Luxus being the fancier of Greed's two cities. Luxus isn't part of the ring itself, but exists as an island city within the space in the middle of the ring (there does exist elevators making travels between the ring possible; for Luxus, the shaft passes through it without much issue.) Since Luxus is basically just a big shopping district/playground for the rich, the place is heavily segregated so that lower class demons can't be seen walking on the golden streets that the rich walk on (not unless they're aids to the nobility in some way). The only way that a lower class demon can live in Luxus is if they can afford it, which is almost impossible. The second city is called The Labyrinth. Unlike the other rings, which has everything existing on the "surface" of each ring, the Labyrinth is within the Ring itself, a series of chasms, paths, and mines, where the lesser folk live and work. Most tend to work in Mammon's mines.
Lust is pretty much equal to its canon counterpart, just one big city of sex and shamelessness (and other things, but that's a much darker topic). There's no artificial sky like the other rings have (the Labyrinth also lacks one), and no natural landscapes. It's about what you'd expect, really. I imagine there's a big use of black lighting in Lust to make it even harder to hide how much filth goes on there.
Envy is one big ocean with a few island or Venice-style towns and cities for demons to live on. A wall of stone exists at the edge of the ring to keep it from spilling over and into the empty space. Envy is very dangerous, as most of its creatures are unapologetically beastly in nature and won't put on a show of civility the way other Hellborn would. Envy is another "playground for the rich" type of place, so not very many Hellborn aside from sirens (Leviathan's subjects) choose to live there.
Finally, there's Sloth, a dreamy place of rolling hills and woodlands, vast and easy to get lost in. Belphegor's city of Somnia is a place of carelessness, uncared for, cluttered, and reeking of the fumes of drugs. Of course, there's a better maintained district for the rich with spas, hotels, and Hell's hospitals, which are crazy expensive and exist to keep Lucifer's Court alive and well, first and foremost. There are no rehabilitation centers, therapists or anything that truly helps. It can be a peaceful place if one choses to live outside of Somnia, as Ipos does, but the wilderness of Sloth comes with its own dangers.
Lastly, there exists another part of Hell monitored by Lucifer, and will be referenced to in HUNGER: Sheol. I won't explain it here, though, since I actually want these places to be explored in the series 😤
I think that's it! It's nice getting to ramble about this project, since it's still fresh in my mind, even if writer's block has me in a chokehold aaaa, thanks for the ask! I'll repost this on the rewrite blog!

KH OC Week Day 6: Journal
Miko's journal from the age of fairy tales was brief, and only contained a few entries. This was the final one.
~~~
Day 6 of @khoc-week!! I can't believe it's almost over, what a wild ride.
This is a pivotal moment for Miko, when their world crashes down around them for the second time, with such brief pause between the two events, proportionally.
They will not forget this moment, or how it changed them.
[GENERAL WARNING: this blog contains properly-tagged adult content, which at some point might include posts about Miko's story (but none of the KH OC Week posts will). You have been warned!]
~~~
[Image ID: A two-panel comic of Miko, a humanoid Dream Eater. In the first panel they are sitting sadly, with Chirithy sitting on their knees and reaching out to them comfortingly. A journal page is superimposed next to them.
It reads: "Chirithy came to visit today. He was worried- he asked if I was okay. Aren't I happy to be helping the Master of Masters? To be honest, I'm not sure anymore. All the kids are fighting each other. There are nightmares everywhere. Even my dreams have stopped soothing the foretellers. And Luxu… Luxu is gone, just like the Master. I want to believe that it'll all turn out, like the Master said… But I have this horrible feeling…"
The second panel features Miko standing in front of a circular window, looking down in horror with tears streaming down its face. Many floating hearts are reflected in the glass. On the bottom of the page, the last part of the journal entry is superimposed.
It reads: "…That it's only going to get worse."

Thanks for the video! this is super helpful!
The Theory I have has been slowly building since before KH3 came out. It's the most crack theory that's ever crack theory ed.
Like, Idk what I'm gonna name this theory, because how WILD it is, It boils down to "There is a way to defeat darkness" but that's kind of long for a Theory name.
Like, there is an ending, and I've slowly been piecing it together.
I'm fixing some of the holes in it before I do anything with it, and one of them is if Player knew about MOM or Luxu, if they know about player it's fine, but if player knows about them, then it's got holes in the theory.
I need answers, did Player in Union X EVER Meet Luxu or the Master of Masters? Did they ever see player!?
(Working on a theory)

Random Things I Found Fun/Interesting in JPN Kingdom Hearts (Part 2)
In Dark Road, MoM says he could be named “Theodore or Jack” in ENG but in JPN, while Jack is still the same, “Taro” is the other name.
Sora’s voiceline when throwing Goofy in their team attack (Goofy Bombardier) is a very enthusiastic “Yoroshiku!” (I just thought he sounded really cute lol)
Neku is also voiced by Kouki Uchiyama (Roxas and Ventus)
In the KH4 trailer, “Afterworld” is a pretty fitting translation for 「死の世界」(shi no sekai) as a literal translation would be “world of death/death’s world”
“My friends are my power” is actually “Connecting hearts is my power” in JPN 「繋がる心が俺の力だ!」
Ven says the exact thing too in BBS, though ENG added the “and I’m theirs,” which I found to be such a cute and touching addition
I don’t know why this specifically caught my attention but in the end of BBS, when Ven goes back to Sora’s heart, in ENG he asks “Would you mind if I stayed here, with you?” while in JPN he asks “Is it okay if I become one with your heart again?”, both have a warmth to it that differs from each other, and I just love that lol
In JPN, Roxas is the one with the huge voice drop. If you listen to KH2, Kouki Uchiyama still had a higher pitched voice but it you go watch/play 358/2 Days, BBS, and beyond , you’ll hear his more current pitch
For the seiyuu enthusiasts (just like me fr lol), young Luxu is played by Kenjiro Tsuda (the KH JPN cast is wild in general but it’d be funny to spread that list out lol). You might know him as Dainsleif from Genshin, Nanami from JJK, Overhaul from BNHA, etc.

I'm curious: what are your current writing projects about? I hope they're going well! 💜
So, I have two multi chapters going on in the Golden Kamuy fandom! that I am neglecting shdhddb the first is a modern!AU on a crack pair of mine, the second a what if enemies to lovers on two of my favorite characters. Then I have an unpublished Kingdom Hearts multi chapter where Xigbar/Luxu decided to handle by himself the problem of the true darkness and ropes Even in to help but framing it as a kidnapping so the guardians of light are forced to go on a wild goose chase so they don't interfere. It started as a roleplay, but since it never really developed and I liked the idea I decided to make it a story lol.

You said you just learned about the character files, but did you know that Xigbar actually has 2? The one you posted thats in the book, and one that was used as a preview for it which is slightly different.
i saw the preview while i was looking up information about his character file! i disregarded it at the time because i went on kind of a wild goose chase looking for the source for it before deciding it wasn't worth it to find cut content from non-canon materials—but im taking a look at it again now :]
ultimately anything that isnt in the games is just toys and fun to me, i don't take it as canon—like, i don't feel it's worth my time to speculate on why it was changed, like whether it Revealed Too Much or The Plan Was Changed or whatever—but i do still think both versions of his story could be informative, at least. like, the writer had to have been given some indication of characterization and plot direction, that kinda thing.
for that reason it's interesting to me that the preview version of the story seems to end on the note of xigbar being doubtful of his Master and of whether his role is "the right thing". in my opinion luxu's had a few redemption arc/face turn flags throughout the games, so i'm intrigued by the emphasis the preview version of his story puts on him potentially having a change of heart! to me, though, it's less "this is confirmation that he Will have a redemption arc" and more "this suggests that i may be right about the games hinting at a redemption arc".
i guess to put it another way, i feel that the character files stories don't reveal new canon information, but rather that they put a little more light and focus on things that already exist in canon, if that makes sense.

I... disagree. Because first off, this video has a fundamental misunderstanding of how the arks/lifeboats work. They're not just catch-all time machines, they have a specific function. They were intended as devices to escape the world, but an issue with them caused the bodies of those inside to burn up due to the speeds they traveled at. That speed, however, is ultimately how the time travel works as an initially unintended side-effect. The heart, now unbound from the body, is going so fast that it basically causes a time dilation effect and speeds itself into the future. It can't go back in time, only forward, because time only progresses forward, the heart is just experiencing it at a different rate than the world around it
That leaves you with the Xehanort method: you need to have a version of you at your destination, you need to have some sort of body to stay in that destination (Xehanort and the Replicas in KH3, Sora inhabiting his own and various other bodies in Re:Mind, arguably Maleficent inhabiting her data-self) or otherwise be in a state where you don't need a body (Ansem SoD going to the past as a Heartless), and if you go to the past you're stuck there unless you have a lifeboat to go forward again. For Skuld in this theory, it's unclear if time spent in lifeboat-induced time travel counts as a point in time you can go back to (is it technically a point in time where you exist or not?) so she'd... probably have to time-travel to a point before the lifeboat worked and if she did, what body is she in? Her own, that's about to be destroyed so that her heart can time travel, completely missing the time period this theory needs her to be in? Or if she can just travel to any point where her heart was in a lifeboat-induced time travel state and can thus skip to after the fall of Daybreak Town, we still have the question of what body she'd be in because her own would have been destroyed to send her to the future to be Subject X, especially since Replicas don't exist yet. And if she's just possessing a random body, that descendant has no reason to look like her. It's also unclear if the body reconstruction method used for lifeboat time-travelers functions on normal time-travelers
So the only way for this theory to work would be if Nomura brought in yet another method of time travel, and frankly, I think that would be too many. You can already see how the lifeboats are written to desperately try to circumvent the already established time travel rules without contradicting them, do we really need another version of that?
At this point I think it must be an either-or: either Skuld is Subject X, or she's the ancestor of Xehanort's mother, she can't be both
youtube
You know... This seems pretty obvious now. And I feel like an idiot for not realizing it before. I feel like The Landi Lodge is right.

had thee most wild dream about yx fighting khux era luxu...well, it was just a whole bunch of playful dodging on luxu's end (didn't even have a weapon) while yx couldn't even land a single hit. the wild part was yx tryna countdown to some spell in german to obfuscate the timing. apparently luxu also knows german.
anyway i chuckled so hard (in my brain) i woke up.

I haven't played any KH, I don't know who Xigbar is. Tell me about him. Why do you like him? What is he like in the games? Any headcanons? I feel like instead of googling about him I want to know about him from you. You seem obsessed, I like that.
it seems as though you have come to the right place seeing as IIIII am the rightful head of XIgbar research! to put it bluntly, I love xigbar because hes an insufferable silly jackass that delivers his lines with a SoCal surfer accent- its hard NOT to laugh at his lines- he gets on the nerves of and comedically taunts not only the game protagonists but ALSO his coworkers/co-cultists as well... did i mention that he technically is involves with two and a half cults? wild stuff-
not only is he silly funny goofy in his words, but also how he fights- you see- xigbar is able to warp he very fabric of space so he uses this to his advantage by SHOOTING AT YOU SUSPENDED UPSIDEDOWN IN THE AIR- IF THATS NOT THE SILLIEST THING IDK WHAT IS! only to add to the wildness of his character, hes technically an ancient parasitic being that has been possessing people for CENTURIES to fulfill a role that he was basically molded to since he was a child because of a cult leader's grand schemes and hes basically not allowed to die until his role is complete- and while he seems very chill with the fact that hes possessing people at first, there is a scene of him before he possessed his first host being absolutely HORRIFIED about this- even arguing with the leader that this is too many sacrifices- so you know this man has some emotional scarring- forcing him to be more and more apathetic for people over the years with each new body he takes and everyone he knows eventually dying. hes the PERFECT contender for angst!
also some other fact about him that i think are funny-
-his actual name is Luxu- which is based on the latin word for Lust.
-in the manga he is canonically horny. he enjoys reading swimsuit magazines and has a mug with (covered) boobs on it
-he has a habit of possessing people whose names start with BR- the only reason why hes XIgbar now i because that body's original name was Braig, but when he became a nobody (basically a being without a heart/soul) the letters of the name got scrambled and got an X added
-he has FANGS and pointy ears!!!
uhhh- one of my favorite little headcanons for him is that he enjoys 70s and 80s dad rock and has a stomach of steal lmaooo
