It was late, stars twinkled in the sky above and a chill breeze blew near constant through the streets. There was nobody else around, and honestly Major wasn’t sure if that reassured him or put him on edge. He really knew better than to be out so late, his way back to the mansion lit only by streetlamps and the moon, hidden partially behind one of the few clouds obscuring the night sky, but he’d been particularly busy that day and time had slipped away from him.
He’d been preparing for the next storm on the Dark Realm. He knew he couldn’t take it as lightly as he had done the first time. Sure he’d been of some help, and Convict had told him to be proud of himself, but he knew he could’ve done better. He could’ve been there when everyone needed him the most. That sting of guilt was why he was training so hard this time around. He couldn’t let anyone else fall, not again.
His brow furrowed slightly as his thoughts wandered, mimicing the path he was taking in reality as he ducked into an alleyway. It’d cut a few minutes off the way home, and he could really do with getting out of the cold. Sure he was wearing two layers, but when one of those was a t-shirt there was only so much it could-
He stopped, turning to glance around. He could’ve sworn he heard something.. someone... to be out so late, and be following him? He could only think of one person it could be.
“Toy?!” He called out, scanning the deep shadows of the alley with a squint. If it really was the criminal, he’d try to hide to gain an advantage... “Is that you?”

@luuminary [Starter call]
“Hey. Cool sword, dude.” Of course, the first words they utter to the new guy was about his weapon. They were usually alone in the training rooms at this time in the morning, so arriving to find someone there already came as a pleasant surprise. Getting a head start on figuring out the newcomer’s moves was never a bad idea.

Confidence is in their tone and step as their arms rest behind their head. “Nobody usually gets up this early t’ train... S’ppose y’ wanted dibs on th’ equipment, huh?”
