head low, fingers idly play with the small shot glass between them,  twisting it back and forth. drinking isn’t something he prides himself in, especially with the copious amount he’s been taking on lately, but tonight it would seem his (  hypothetical  )  demons have brought him to the right place... at the right time.  all the commotion in the bar buzzes around him like a busy hornets nest, all blended into  one  sound, but he’s fortunate enough to pick up on the words of a young lady next to him.  let me just get you one drink,  he hears the bartender offer, though at this point it’s more like he’s a  nuisance ; this has to be the third time he’s heard him offer, and the third time he’s heard her  decline.  

he won’t speak  directly, that’s not how he is, but he  will  interject with this:  ❝  hey.  -- can i get another drink over here, or do i have to talk to a manager? ❞  a moment of silence passes, and he gives a small smile at the man as he watches his shoulders drop in defeat, then moving away to  do as he’s told.  it was a nice way of asking him to  fuck off.
