Finally figured out an arknights nicheknights setup I actually want to use

I'm calling it "Dolls & Dolls."

The criteria for it is that an operator must have one or more of:

Is a Dollkeeper Specialist (which replace themselves with an aoe-damaging duplicate upon death, then return after a short time; Bena, Iana, Kazemaru, Verdant, Specter the Unchained):

Has a version in the game that behaves like a Dollkeeper Specialist (Skadi the Corrupting Heart, whose boss fight variant has an identical back-and-forth-and-becomes-a-less-dangerous-double-after-being-'killed' dynamic to dollkeepers)

Summons a double of themselves in-game (Muelsyse and Phantom, who have water clones and shadow clones, respectively)

Leaves behind a tangible, aoe-affecting unit after death, which disappears upon return to the battlefield (Ines, whose shadow spike is that; I am limited to use of her S3 as that's the one focused on using her like a 'dollkeeper' and the one that gives the shadow spike aoe damage)

Transforms back and forth into another form during combat that changes one's attack range and method into "one tile in all directions aoe" (Luo Xiaohei, who must be using his S1 for these purposes)

Keeps a doll (Shamare, self-explanatory)

Earnestly trying to figure out what’s up with Arknights’ global scheduling

My best theory so far is that while GL has been sped up slightly, there are two targets that are tightly locked to calendar months and can’t easily be shifted:

Anniversaries, and

Integrated Strategies monthly updates.

February was our last IS2 update, and if we follow CN we’ll have one “dead month” before IS3 releases at the start of April.

On CN, IS3 released during the Near Light rerun. Compare to how IS2 released during the Who Is Real rerun; they want to drop new IS2 seasons during “quiet” times so players aren’t overloaded with new content.

So I’m guessing their constraints were:

Ideal City has to happen as close to the anniversary as possible,

There has to be a rerun at the start of April,

Two reruns can’t happen too close together.

If that’s the case, after the Dossoles Holiday rerun we’ve got a 2-3 week gap before the Near Light rerun, which is enough time to fit Dorothy’s Vision and maybe Obscure Wanderer as well.

That “explains” (speculates about) what they’ll do next. As for how we got here... shifting events for the anniversary is obviously going to happen, but I still can’t rationalise them running CC10 early too, so soon after CC9 and without the extra tools from Dorothy’s Vision. Put CC10 back and it should be easier to have Dossoles and thus Dorothy sooner, right?

Or they could just tell us what the rescheduling is
