➼A/N: Um hey y’all… I’m terribly sorry for how long it took me to get this chapter out. I'll be honest that this chapter is crappy though but I felt so bad about the long hiatus on updates so I tried my best to get this chapter out asap. Hope you still enjoy reading it <3

Entering the address you received over text from Rindou, you set out on your first day as a babysitter. While making your way to Rindou’s, your thoughts went back to yesterday night where he filled you in on Kiyoko’s allergies, emergency contacts, etc. I really hope I don’t forget something important. 

As you approach the Haitani’s residence you still can’t help but admire it. You let out a deep sigh and pressed on the intercom next to the gates. “Good morning, it’s me-” You were interrupted by a booming voice that you knew all too well. “GOOD MORNING Y/N SANNNN, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU EVER SINCE I WOKE UP!!!” It’s seven in the morning😭 It’s too early for this boisterous behavior but then again you can’t really blame the kid. 

You were soon let in and you walked up to the front door that was immediately yanked open by the tiny girl who impatiently awaited your arrival. She quickly grabbed you by your hand and dragged you in. As you walked in you were met with the two brothers who greeted you. You greeted them back and it wasn’t long before they both left for work leaving you alone with the way too energetic little girl. 

You spent the whole day doing whatever she wanted. She wanted you to play with her dolls, you did and even gave the dolls voices which she really enjoyed. She wanted to play restaurant, you were fully committed to acting as the customer as she whipped up the toy food to serve to you. In the middle of giving you your toy sandwich her stomach growled making you both laugh. “I guess that means lunch time huh?” She nods asking you to make her a real sandwich. 

After you both ate lunch she forced you to watch Barbie movies with her which you honestly didn’t mind. After the Barbie marathon she wanted to play dress up. She put on a pink dress and whipped out her kid makeup set making a mess on her face. Then she experimented with the makeup on you next and let’s just say it was not your best look. You were about to clean up your face when she whined at you to not clean it up and you sighed in defeat. 

It was pretty late by this time so you decided to go ahead and make dinner. Just as you were done cooking you heard the front door open and two voices announcing that they were home. You told them that dinner was ready and they could get it themselves and you were about to flee away from the kitchen before Ran turned you around. He gasped upon seeing your face. “What in the world happened to your face?” You point at Kiyoko who was next to you, “Her.” 

Ran covered his mouth as he was holding back his laugh but it didn’t last long before he bursted out in laughter. He quickly took out his phone and started snapping pictures of you, “I’m never gonna let you live this down.” You marched up towards him and wrapped him into a headlock, “Delete those pictures right now or today will be your last day on earth.” Kiyoko was observing the scene from the side and Rindou covered her eyes and ears, quickly taking her to her room. He rolled his eyes at both of your antics. What did I sign up for? He wondered to himself.

After my fourth vipassana course

The cloud isn't here, but when I smile it's in my eyes. I said no to people somewhat on the way our, but I didn't really want to spend more time with people today. I think peace to reflect is what feels right. The heat, the heat.

Sleepiness, exhaustion, was one part I took steps to overcome. The 4.30-6.30am sit. The hazy, foggy faintness of early morning is actually not a sign that I'm faint, or weak. It's just a veil, a morning cloak that temporarily conceals the normal strength there is beneath. I could leave bed and do 10 (questionable) press ups by the end of the course, even when I can't make a strong fist with the hand - I was as strong then as midday or 6pm. Maybe the mornings won't be so painful anymore. We'll see. Perhaps I'll be able to leave them before they start.

The realisation I've been selfishly trying to get my ex to break up with his girlfriend also hit me. I accepted it makes me a bad friend. Friends don't convince each other to split with their partners. And I wouldn't ever be able to assure anyone that I'd never leave him. Best to leave him be. You tried. He couldn't even get on the plane he'd booked to see me.

I learned that I want a new focus. I'm going to see if I can find the determination to draft a research proposal this week. Get it to a stage where I could share it with someone. It could be nice to build something big.

I realised Peter doesn't leave me feeling great, but Luno does. But also that I definitely should be single for a while. Until July 2025 maybe. One full year of not chasing my heart. I'll be 31, near 32. I realised too that most probably I will let my womb expire from its big function. 10, 15 years, I hope to foster then adopt.

Part of the time, for 2-3 days, I wanted to leave, partially through boredom. But I made myself sit still a long time, and the restless feeling passed. Less rushing through life wishing quieter bits away. I think I'll do two x 30m adithan sittings per day from now on. The teacher says the morning one washes away the subconscious from the night. Maybe though I hate it, it'll be better than the sour mornings I periodically catch myself caught in. How to still enjoy lie-ins with FWBs, though, that's a big question. Do I do it as soon as I wake up? Will I combine the evening one with reading a book after for 30m?

How to incorporate serving others more in my life? I feel I don't do much right now. Maybe I'll create a dana list, and do one thing on it each day. (Just made it - not done a thing yet though.)

It's clear that I thought I could live a good life without meditation, but tried, and a month later the dejected stares returned. I need dhamma in my life to not suffer constantly. I won't even lower it to 30m for a time, one hour a day must be the minimum. In private. I'm glad I see it as a tool I need to live life okay now though - instead of as a piece of life's content. It's the grease that makes my wheels move. The milk that binds my flour. The cold flannel on the sick person's head. Tripod above the hot floor.

Bitcoin Prices May Be Decoupling From Stocks

But there are signs bitcoin's price movement is beginning to decouple from stocks, for now.

"If one looks at the history of Bitcoin and why it was created in the first place, it was precisely for events like this where the current system shows signs of weakness and hence owning an uncorrelated asset helps," Vijay Ayyar, vice president of corporate development and international at crypto exchange Luno, told CNBC.

"Over the years, this argument of Bitcoin being an uncorrelated asset class has been debated quite a bit, but we are now potentially seeing that viewpoint being vindicated in a lot of ways."

While gold is up around 9% this year, bitcoin has surged more than 70%.

Interestingly, other cryptocurrencies on Monday did not see the same jump as in bitcoin. Ether was trading roughly flat. Other cryptocurrencies are not seen as "digital gold" by proponents in the same way that bitcoin is.

"As this banking crisis plays out, it'll be interesting to continue to watch Bitcoin price action as more and more people think of owning Bitcoin as a clever alternate to the current system," Ayyar said.
