⊹₊⟡⋆ 4H Ruler in 12H is an indicator of moving.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 4H Ruler in 4H is an indicator of traveling in your country, or around your country.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Uranus conjunct Moon 12H can indicate feeling down but very suddenly, your moon switch during the month and you can feel sad often without knowing why.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Moon 12H usually indicates feeling sad or down this month. I was also feeling anxious and I overthink quite a lot this month.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Every time I have Uranus 12H I feel more tired and I need more sleep.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Saturn 10H is indeed an indicator of having some obstacles or difficulties in your career. But it doesn't mean necessarily that it's because your career isn't doing well. Ruler will say why you have those difficulties.
For Example, I had this placement last month, but had a lot of clients. But it was hard mentally to finish the readings, and my 10H Ruler was Uranus 12H. I was tired and never felt like working.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Moon conjunct Uranus 12H can also indicate having weird dreams with weird significations.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 5H Stellium usually means you'll be more into fashion, beauty tips, skincare, and make up this month.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Venus 5H, I bought more clothes this month, and I found a lot of good items in thrift shops.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 1H Ruler in 5H, I cut my hair and my hair are very healthy now and they look incredible.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Sun 10H Sun or Rulling 10H can mean you'll get more success and recognition this year, can be in your career or just in other parts for your life. Check where Ruler is in.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Stellium in 2H can mean gaining more money this month than last month for example.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Leo 10H & Ruler is in 12H can mean getting unwanted attention. You could get more attention and it's not something you really wanted. You can also get more popular and it can feel exhausting mentally.

⊹₊⟡⋆ Jupiter 1H can be an indicator of taking a little weight, or you could feel thicker.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 2H Ruler in 12H, I wanted to save money. I was also more into manifesting money.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Mars 2H, I was more worried and anxious because of money.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 3H Ruler in 12H, very funny thing but this was the month I switched my instagram account into private mode for the first time since I had it.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 4H Ruler in 5H means you'll have some good time and good laugh with family this month.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Someone told me this already when I asked if they had this placement before, but 7H Ruler in 1H can mean a lot of people will be into you and interested in dating you.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Venus & Juno 5H will mean something similar.
⊹₊⟡⋆ My new LRC just started and I have 8H Ruler in 2H, Ruled by Venus, and I have such huge fashion fever!
⊹₊⟡⋆ I have Scorpio Rising in this new LRC and it's the same as my SRC, and I have tons of same placements as my SRC, I think this month will be very significant for me.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Chiron 8H can also be an indicator of being sick.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 12H Stelliums can usually translates into depression. You could not want to do a single thing but stay in bed and sleep.
⊹₊⟡⋆ Scorpio Rising could mean you'll change something in your life this month, and it can be transforming something that will play a major role in your life over the next few months.
⊹₊⟡⋆ 2H Ruler in 3H can mean buying new technology, like a phone for example.

Full Buck Moon in Capricorn
Full Moons are a time for releasing and relinquishing. If you have an excess in your life, this is the time for it to go down the drain. Through silent meditation, exchanging of thoughts, or spiritual practice, Full Moons are a point when we can let go. July’s Full Moon in Capricorn is an astrological hint to reminisce about how much you've grown. Following Western astrology, these new and complete Moon guides are monthly reminders to set and review your intentions. Your horoscope is a rudimentary prompt for self-reflection.
Oh wow, this feels like a beautiful déjà vu. When the universe rewinds the track, it’s imperative that we stop and think about it. On July 21, there is a rare second Full Moon in Capricorn in a year, following the first Full Moon in Capricorn that took place on June 21.
Let me put you onto some game so that you can make the most of this lunar anomaly. In the field of psychology, there is a term called mentalization, which means the ability to recognize your own thoughts and feelings, as well as the thoughts and feelings of others. I see it as a fancy term for empathy. Now, the life hack here is understanding that not everyone has the capacity to practice empathy. There are plenty of people who are neither able to recognize nor understand how they feel, nor can they begin to comprehend how another person is experiencing life. They simply go through life without deeper thoughts, self-awareness, or reflection. In fact, they might even tell you, “It’s not that deep.”
It’s tough navigating the world with a deep understanding of yourself and others when there are people who are literally unable to comprehend where you’re coming from. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to develop defenses against people like this. This doesn’t mean you should walk around guarded all the time. Quite the opposite. You must learn when and with whom to put your armor on. Only a few people deserve to see you splendidly sky-clad.
A Full Moon that takes place in July is sometimes called the Buck Moon, a name that refers to the fact that in the U.S., the antlers of male deer (bucks) are full grown this month. And on July 21st, 2024, at 6:16 AM Eastern Time, the Full Buck Moon will rise in Capricorn at 29 degrees, representing the end of a cycle. Buck Moons signify a time for regeneration and renewal. You can make the best of this Full Moon by remembering that you are in the driver’s seat of your life. Trust your judgment and manage your emotions. No, you shouldn’t have to be the "bigger person" when someone works to bring the worst out of you. However, you should be the best person for yourself, and sometimes that means walking away when your anger is provoked.

Transiting Venus enters Libra
Wednesday, November 8 - Monday, December 4
The good news is, Venus rules Libra, and she’s very happy to be home for a while. The bad news is, she’ll have a lot of challenges. Style over substance, “going along to get along” and refusing to take a stand when it’s necessary, being manipulative - things like that. And the hopeful news is that, if we can remember and adhere to Libra’s higher ground, we can spend this time making real progress.
How this could manifest in Venus’ various areas:
Art - as any music lover will tell you, “popular” doesn’t necessarily equate to “good.” If it did? As an example, Bruce Springsteen has never had a #1 hit song in the US - granted, he was competing against Prince in 1984, but what about the rest of the years?
Beauty - I remember reading a review of “Prizzi’s Honor” which described it as a conflict between “pretty” (Kathleen Turner) and “beautiful” (Angelica Huston). If we tend toward pretty, we’re missing out on depth of character.
Love - seeking personal validation through having a particular spouse (like wanting to date the most popular kid in high school), rather than a true partner. And then doing whatever it takes to acquire that “validating” spouse.
Money - blowing it all on makeup and disposable fashion. Or, we buy something because it’s impressive and not because it has any particular meaning for us.
These are the non-lunar aspects Venus will make. Give them a day or so on either side.
Wednesday, November 8 - Venus/Libra inconjunct Saturn/Pisces, 0°31’. Right off the bat, we have a difficult adjustment to make. Remember that Saturn is exalted in Libra - we’re being asked about our standards of justice and fairness.
Monday, November 13 - Venus/Libra (6°03’) sesquiquad Uranus Rx/Taurus (21°03’). Frustrations; “all that glisters is not gold” springs to mind.
Tuesday, November 14 - Venus/Libra square Vesta Rx/Cancer, 7°00’. We may turn ourselves off, sexually, if we think it will get us something we want.
Wednesday, November 15 - Venus/Libra inconjunct Jupiter Rx/Taurus, 8°45’. More “all that glisters;” with perhaps a little of “your eyes were bigger than your stomach.” Taking on toi much, or realizing it’s a much bigger and more difficult task than we anticipated.
Friday, November 17 - Venus/Libra (10°06’) semi-square Mars/Scorpio (25°06’). People in sexual relationships may feel this especially acutely. One partner may (as with the Vesta square) “turn off” or, conversely, be more demanding.
A “two-fer” with minor aspects from Lady Asteroids, on Sunday, November 19:
Venus/Libra semi-sextile Juno/Virgo, 12°11’
Venus/Libra (12°40’) semi-square Ceres/Scorpio (27°40’)
We’re trying to coordinate between demands of our partners (Juno) and our families (Ceres).
Another two-fer on Wednesday, November 22:
Venus/Libra (15°48’) sesquiquad Saturn/Pisces (0°48’)
Venus/Libra oppose Chiron Rx/Aries, 15°58’
These are rather more serious than what we’ve experiences so far - as are the remaining aspects. Even if we’ve been as tactful and graceful as we can manage, it isn’t enough. It’s important to really listen to what other people have to say. They get to have free will, too.
Sunday, November 26 - Venus/Libra inconjunct Uranus Rx/Taurus, 20°32’. A difficult adjustment. If we overindulged, it’s coming back to bite us in the butt.
Tuesday, November 27 - Venus/Libra opposite North Node/Aries, conjunct South Node/Libra, 22°39’. An opportunity to examine (at least) those Libra ways we mess ourselves up.
Wednesday, November 28 - Venus/Libra opposite Eris Rx/Aries, 24°19’. What did I say? Other people get to have free will, too. And if the shoe is on the other foot, and we find we’ve been manipulated, this is the day we could fight back.
Thursday, November 29 - Venus/Libra inconjunct Neptune Rx/Pisces, 24°54’. Taking those rose-colored glasses off, or having them removed for us.
Sunday, December 3 - Venus/Libra square Pluto/Capricorn, 28°33’. We’re aware that we haven’t done Venus or Libra very well (not just this transit, but in our past). We’ve seen that our past machinations were unfair - that our cowardice and complacency haven’t served us well - so, either we resolve to fix it during Venus’ imminent trip through Scorpio; or in Steven Forrest’s words, “we fail to look at ourselves; we imagine the issue to have its sole origin in the other person’s intransigence.”
Painful, I know. The higher Libra traits include justice and fairness; valuing other people; tact and diplomacy. We just need to be more consistent about expressing them - and we need to use them to reach out for the higher Aries traits, as represented by the North Node.

JOYCE: Well, there are some things I'd be happy to see you share. Like the slaying. I mean, two of you fighting is safer than one, right? BUFFY: I guess. JOYCE: Unless, I mean, you heard her. She loves the slaying. Couldn't she take over for you? BUFFY: Mom, no one can take over for me. JOYCE: But you're going to college next year. I think it would be... BUFFY: Mom, the only way you get a new Slayer is when the old Slayer dies. JOYCE: Then that means you... When did you die? You never told me you died! BUFFY: It was just for a few minutes.

TSUKIHIME FASHION REVIEW!
Ok y’all i may be new here but im glad to introduce my _fashion review_!!!
Yes you read that right your beloved arcadia shall break down the single greatest visual novel known to mankind and review the drip contained within its sacred uhh program ig
Lets get right to it with our very own lunar legend ARCUEID
Tumblr media
Arcueid Brunestud
The icon, the goddess, the brain of the planet, and my very own wife (don’t correct me please) Arcueid Brunestud has a umm unique fashion taste…
Tumblr media
Her OG version is certainly a drip of all times.. im not the biggest fan but hey who am i to argue with my wife (again dont correct me here)? the granny skirt is well… its a skirt!! and she has a white shirt too!!! What is this; the 50s?
On the other hand, i love her hair and will fight anyone who says different. In fact, her hair here is better then it is in the remake and thats a fact because i said so and my opinion is objectively correct.
Tumblr media
I kneel before her. I can see why roa fell in love with her here. Her long hair… beautiful blue dress that simply demands your love and devotion to the princess of the true ancestors.
In other words, Peak. Kino. Fire. Gorgeous. Other words.
Tumblr media
Archetype earth moves me on a different level. Her design is the best in the game! Well i mean she didnt actually appear in tsukihime itself afaik (or can remember actually) she did appear in Kagetsu Tohya and that was nice.
This is Arcueid at her best looking and i wont accept any different opinion because again only MY opinion matters here!!
On a side note, damn you altrouge for cutting arcueids hair. Damn you a million times i hope nasu NEVER puts you in the story (im lying pls type moon put her in the story)
Tumblr media
This is the airhead that we know and love. This design suits that image of her more then og. While im not a complete fan i find this arc to be terribly cute and my wife (dont correct me on this matter)
The boots and leggings are perfection itself and while i dont like the mini skirt much it still works.
I do wonder tho what is that necklace supposed to mean. DAMN IT NASU TELL US… sorry i know itll be explained in red garden coming out in 2024 in the true arc route.
Overall i give arcueid an arcueid /10 (not biased) and recognize her as peak fiction and the love of my life
Ok this is it for me soon ill post a shiki drip review. If you see this feel free to suggest… stuff idk im new to tumblr. Like or blaze or whatever it is. Honestly, how does this even work anyways?

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony Review
November 12, 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1 = Meh, 2 = Okay, 3 = Good, 4 = Really Good, 5 = Amazing
Story 2/5
The story was okay, nothing extraordinary or complex. It was simple, which can always be a good thing. But something was still missing for me. If I were to summarize it, the story is about a boy named Alex who wants to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Dyne, and become a Dragonmaster. His friends join him as they meet new party members along the way. They uncover secrets from the past as they fight against the evil force that threatens the safety of their home, Lunar, and humanity's free will. Something like that.
Characters 5/5
The characters in Lunar: Silver Star Harmony are perfect. They are an adorable bunch with a variety of personalities that somehow work perfectly together. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone, and I loved that there was a character named Jessica in the game. It was cool to see my name, Jess, in a JRPG! And she was pretty awesome, definitely a crybaby beneath her tough exterior which is always an intriguing character concept. Mia was also very sweet and I liked nice the party was to her. Luna was lovely, too. And the boys were definitely under their control, which was just funny to me!
Narrative 3/5
I think it was fine. I don't think the narrative was terrible, but I don't think there was anything necessarily mind-blowing about it either. The only way the story moved on was through dialogue, not so much visually seeing anything that was happening. It was very dependent on conversations with others, so maybe that was not grabbing me emotionally as other games have. The conversations themselves were often very entertaining. Jessica and Kyle were always hilarious, and Nall was so good at poking fun at others and making me laugh.
Gameplay/Controls 4/5
No issues here, it was easy to move around. Buttons were easy, nothing complicated at all. The only thing I struggled with were in the battles, whenever I wanted to choose a party member for something (healing spells or items), it was hard to tell who I was selecting most of the time.
Battle System 4/5
This game has visible on-screen enemies which were hard to avoid. If you get near them, they begin chasing you! That actually gave me some anxiety sometimes lol. There was an AI option where the computer decides what the character does for that round. This is a turn-based JRPG and you have to choose an action for each character group turn. It was cool to choose everyone's actions in one go. I also liked that Nall hangs around in the battles and he heals/revives your characters - sometimes in the battle but always at the end.
Customization/Leveling Up 5/5
There wasn't much customization in this game. Equipment was standard and you couldn't synthesize or "make" new stuff. Each character had their set of spells & skills that they learned as they leveled up, which was straightforward with an EXP system. No complaints here!
Art (Music & Graphics) 5/5
The pixel art of the game is really beautiful. I loved how bright and detailed everything was. Each room that I entered had so many little details and it was funny hearing Nall's commentary if I was snooping somewhere I shouldn't.
Music plays, literally, a big part in this game with a heavy focus on singing. Luna in particular is a gifted singer with healing abilities. So cute. But even Alex's ocarina song was sweet! If I remember correctly, a lot of tunes in the dungeons and cities are repeated but it didn't bother me.
Enjoyment 3/5
I mentioned in my Finished post that this game started off strong, and it really did. I was beyond excited to play this game when I first started it. But the more dungeons I entered, the more repetitive the process seemed and I did start to get a bit... un-charmed. There was also a situation near the end of the game, where I spent an insane amount of time trying to do something that turned out to be impossible. That was like the nail in the coffin, as they say. It was hard for me to bounce back fully and enjoy the ending.
Final Score 31/40
Overall, I did like the game. It's very cute and I look forward to playing the remastered collection. I am, honestly, surprised I didn't love it, but I am glad I was finally able to experience this charming (and very anime) JRPG!

13 Moons Reading Challenge 2024
Okay SO I've been struggling to read a lot during the last few months, which means that I could have gone a little bit behind schedule, ops. Good news is I'm going back on track! Here are two moons I haven't posted yet, and as my reading duties go on and I come up with reviews, I'll post them too. I'm taking my time because you know, reading should be fun, not stressful. The idea behind the reading challenge is of course by @readnburied <3
Reading goal for now — Penumbral Lunar Eclipse: 13 books
Strawberry Moon
Read a book from an author which is new to you: The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. ☆☆☆☆ I wanted to include at least one book by Tolkien in the list of my first one hundred books read - a silly goal I reached a bit ago (thank you goodreads I guess?). I admit I had never read anything by Tolkien before The Hobbit, but I knew that during summer I would've rarely had time to read: I needed something enterteining, full of action, easy to read and fast-peaced, something to make me want to read even during the months when I feel the most exhausted. I needed to go far away with my mind, I needed comfort to cheer me up, adventures that I knew were good-ending. And yes, Bilbo was so good at lifting my spirits. This book was so funny to read, I loved the way everything is described and the way Bilbo is truly the undercovered hero that this adventure needs. This was a rather light reading, with some important themes nonetheless, and I was glad I decided to read it. You can bet my journey with Tolkien won't stop here. The best part is that now I can enjoy every Hobbit movie, comparing movie and book for the first time — I don't actually remember a thing about those movies, probably never even watched them completely. It's gonna be fun. PS: just a moment of appreciation for the map in my book which is the same used in the first film, just translated in italian! I screamed when I saw that ngl
Buck Moon
A Paperback: Malinverno, by Domenico Dara. ☆☆☆☆☆ This book was perfectly unexpected. I chose it randomly from a bookstore; it was a beautiful day of some months ago, I was with a friend and we had nothing else to do but study and wander around the city. This friend of mine kept making jokes because all the books I chose were blue or violet-covered. And yet, blue is my favourite colour, my eyes are naturally attracted to stuff with that dark shade: I don't know if blue chose for me that day or if I truly felt attracted to this book. The outcome didn't change, I bought it and I can say it has been a good series of coincidences: I loved this book. Reading it was painfully comforting, I saw people inhabiting a little village in Italy, but I saw poetry among them, I saw some of the tragedies that life creates. I pondered death, walked through a cimitery and read about someone who sees life a little bit like I do. Someone who breathes books like I've wanted to do for a lifetime, someone who feels loney like I often do these days. I'm not Astolfo Malinverno, but a bit of him is inside me, too. And then a lot of books are inside this one book, there's mundanity, there are stories that are unique and the same within the mankind, misteries that only exist because humanity lives and carries footprints with her. It was not a perfect novel - I'd have something to say about a few scenes towards the end - but all those pages made me cry so much I forgot what it felt like, staying up late at night because you just can't keep your eyes off your reading, sobbing through tears, "right", heartbreaking tears, because deep down you know the story couldn't have gone differently. Right now, this book just has everything I needed to read, so it's a five stars for me. Fun fact about this: I give my rating as soon as I finish reading, pondering what I felt - there's no way that a book capable of making me cry so much throughout the whole story, always hitting right in the heart, with such a good poetry-like style of writing and an ending that truly felt inevitable, is not worthy of five stars. [ Okay I finished my rant about this book. It's my blog I get to yap about what I want. ]

Review: Night Sky Almanac by Radmila Topalovic, Storm Dunlop, Wil Tirion.
Follow the progress of constellations throughout the seasons with this beautiful companion to the night sky from Astronomy experts Collins. With the aid of easy-to-understand monthly calendars and maps, you will chart the rhythm of the lunar phases, discover events that light up the sky for brief periods, and explore the rich tapestry of characters that adorn the starry canvas overhead. Written and illustrated by astronomical experts, Storm Dunlop and Wil Tirion, and approved by the astronomers of the Royal Observatory Greenwich.
Ahh it's the time of the year we get a new version of this for the upcoming year. Every time I see this up for request, I know Autumn is coming and finding a physical copy of this book before the end of the year.
If I said it once I've said it now for several years, I always appreciate everything they put into this book. A list of important dates, maps of the moon, different tables and graphs plus informative logs on every month of the year that gives you a rounded and complete idea of what is to come in the new astronomical year.
Informative but also given in language that's easy to understand and made clear throughout, this guide is really the essential information you need for someone just starting out but also for anyone who just needs a good guide for the upcoming year (and the artwork is beautiful! I love the new colour this year!)
Thanks again for the ARC Netgalley and Collins Astronomy!

🦇 Hearts That Cut Book Review 🦇
💜 Happy book birthday, Hearts That Cut!
❓ #QOTD What's your favorite mythology retelling? ❓ 🦇 With a god's golden thread in her hand, Io leaves Alante alongside a revenge-thirsty Bianca to find the entity responsible for so much death and destruction. With each turn, they uncover new threads in a conspiracy that traces back centuries. The more they learn, the more tangled the mystery becomes. Meanwhile, a prophecy looms over Io's head: that she'll destroy the world by cutting a single thread. Can Io follow—or defy—the threads leading to her fate?
💜 Kika Hatzopoulou's world-building is exquisite. Many mythology retellings run the risk of either sounding dry or repetitive, either plopping us in the time of the Trojan War or infusing Greek mythology into modern reality. Instead, Hatzopoulou created a world entirely of her own; a refreshing hierarchy of overlapping mythologies, of those with god-derived powers and those relying only on the mortal powers within themselves. If the beauty of this world doesn't grasp you, allow Io to; the cutter, the unseen blade, the reaper of fates. Io carries the weight of a prophecy that claims she'll end the world. Worse yet, her sisters seem to have a hand in it, her fate-thread seems to be fraying, and THE gods are seemingly pulling everyone's strings. When you strip away the mythology of it all, Io is a layered, stunning, emotionally-powered character. Her relationship with her sisters--watching her eldest sister shoulder the burdens of responsibility and parenthood at a young age, their other sister stuck in the middle as the peacemaker--is realistically messy and flawed. That sisterhood plays a huge part in Io's present, in her decision-making, and in her development. Each sister has distinct motivations--none the villain, each doing the best she can.
💙 By now, you know one of my biggest pet peeves is telling, not showing. While this story is action-packed, the mythology begins to put too much weight on the exposition. We're given explanations we don't necessarily need when the story could have focused more on emotion. Io's powers allow her to see the threads that connect people to those they love. She has to sacrifice her own threads to destroy another's. There's so much potential for metaphor and artistry there, but Io cuts nearly without remorse, even though she's upset that her sisters manipulate threads with a similar mindset.
💙 Normally, when I'm disappointed with a book, I can set it aside and move on. Threads That Bind was one of my top five picks of last year, though, and Hearts That Cut was one of my most anticipated reads for 2024. Reading the first page should have felt like greeting an old friend. Instead, the first 30% of the book felt detached from the original story, providing us with seemingly unnecessary puzzle pieces that could have been placed elsewhere as Io unravels this mystery. It's not until she's reunited with her friends that the story finally returns to the dizzying, delightful, action-packed pacing from the first book. Just as we grow accustomed to that pacing, the story reaches a sudden, almost rushed ending. Usually, I never complain about the lack of an epilogue (most stories don't need one), but given Io's brash actions and the consequences it may trigger, Hearts That Cut sorely does. We're left with no hint as to the new world order, or Io and Edei's future (yes, I'm sure they're thriving in love, but STILL), or if the sisters can rebuild what they lost. While these details aren't necessary, readers have been on a wild ride with these characters. A real resolution would have been nice, but instead we're left without closure.
🦇 Recommended for fans of Percy Jackson, The Lunar Chronicles, and other retellings.
✨ The Vibes ✨ 🧵 Second in a Duology 🧵 Fated Lovers 🧵 Mythology Retelling 🧵 Young Adult Fantasy 🧵 Sisterhood 🧵 Magic
🦇 Major thanks to the author and publisher for providing an ARC of this book via Netgalley. 🥰 This does not affect my opinion regarding the book. #HeartsThatCut
💬 Quotes ❝ Cunning was her weapon now, and she would wield it with precision. ❞ ❝ “Just because it works doesn’t mean it’s right.” ❞ ❝ “Io, let me choose you.” ❞ ❝ Change was uncomfortable, sometimes filled with growing pains, but without it, there was no way forward. No way to keep going, to shed the scabs of your past and heal yourself in the present. Without change, there was no future. ❞ ❝ Fate was powerful. Fate was deadly. Fate could topple gods. ❞

Multiples of 12 if you've got the energy. Otherwise just 12 and 144!
12 Pictures and Stories from Uncle Toms Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
Need I confirm how awful it is? It was for a class and helpful to discuss in context.
24 Little Thieves by Margaret Owen
One of my best books of the whole year, I already reread it this year, I deeply love this book. Started my Goose Girl journey, found one of my all time favorite protagonists. I think I have like 3 reviews of this book written at this point, I adore it!!
36 Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert
A reread, one of my favorite romance novels, Talia Hibbert is just a beautiful writer, I love all her novels. I like this one in particular because Dani and Zaf are already friends by the beginning of the book and friends to lovers is the best.
48 Painted Devils by Margaret Owen
I was really worried this sequel would pale in comparison to Little Thieves but I had such a good time and adored seeing Vanja again. The character and relationship development was really where the text shined imo.
60 Cress by Marissa Meyer
Another reread, Lunar Chronicles really scratches that found family itch for me! I listened to it this time and it was so fun to get lost in. Also, Cress and Carswell are so adorable.
72 The Classic Fairy Tales by Maria Tatar
I read a huge chunk of this for class and decided to mark it as read. I particularly enjoyed the critical essays that were included. Gilbert and Gubar my beloved
84 Arenic and Adobo by Mia P Manansala
I feel bad for hating this, but what a poorly constructed mystery! And the mc was soooo annoying. There were good elements, like themes and the descriptions of food but . . .meh
96 The Dos and Donuts of Love by Adiba Jaigirdar
This was okay, but I keep trying to read books set in reality tv shows and um. . .I need to stop, I do not tend to like them much.
108 The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong
A reread for writing a class paper, I love rereading these books, I need more paranormal books in my life. Also, the second remains my favorite!!
120 A Master of Djinn by P Djeli Clark
As a fantasy, this book is amazing!
132 You Don’t Have a Shot by Racquel Vasquez
144 Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

Okay but you’re so right with the abundance of easy access smut books cuz at my big age of 24, I have the same thoughts when I see what booktok recommends when a stray vid pop up on my feed. With how cute these covers are getting they 100% should have a marker somewhere on the front or back saying there’s explicit material ahead cuz even some of my mangas have warnings on either the front or back cover saying it’s got explicit content or is for 18+ audiences. The smutty mangas also come shrink wrapped so kids don’t open it easily to read it in stores. And some of the labelled ones I have are gorey/violent while some are smut. Either way it gets a warning label. They’re small warnings so it doesn’t call people’s attention like an old school bodice ripper book does, or monster girl hentai mangas do where the titties are out on the cover, nipples and all. Someone will probably argue about manga being images but I really like the little label either way. So I think that books should get the same and include a label for explicit content.
I’m all for youngsters reading books since it feels like kids aren’t reading the way they used to, but I feel like now you gotta put in twice the effort to get them something appropriate and not accidentally get a 12 year old a smutty book. I remember there was a vid or post I came across online, where a girl around my age I think, got her 12-14 year old sister or cousin a smutty book cuz she didn’t know what it was and thought that it was a cute romance story between an ice skater and hockey player and thought she’d like it. And finding out later what it’s REALLY about is just 😬😬
But for the life of me, I can’t understand why the more mature books can’t just go for maybe a more simplistic route for the covers if people are so worried about being discreet? Why do the covers have to be cute and cartoony for it to be discreet enough to read in public?? Examples on my bookcase that aren’t smut but has a more minimal cover is Rebecca, Hunger Games, Red Queen (only read the first book so no clue if there’s more sexual or suggestive content in the later books), Beauty, heartless but I think you could put the whole lunar chronicles series here cuz I liked these covers but these are the old ones and not the new covers from I wanna say 2020. But these authors or cover artists, whoever is in charge of the covers, could go for more simplistic or even use some kind of symbolic image approach instead of slapping a very cutely drawn couple on the covers for the ones who like discreet covers. Like there’s so many other ways to approach a more discreet book cover then this bait and switch
hi sweetheart!!! i am so sorry i went over a month without answering this, i've been living such an insane life for like twoish months, and i have been reading asks and forgetting to answer asks in the midst of all this chaos, but please know that i DID read this when you initially sent it, and i had every intention to respond in a timely manner yet i very clearly failed :(((
i also just wanna say that my ears literally perked up at the mention of red queen because reading a review of it around a year ago, and it lowkey radicalized me against the whole booktok movement. like, i am tired of readers judging authors' choices not to put explicit sex scenes in their own books. i feel like if you can't read a book that doesn't involve graphic sex, or if you get upset when a book doesn't have it when it's never even beer advertised to include one, you probably have a problem…it's kind of ironic if you think about it? the way they're kind of setting themselves up to be disappointed?
anyway, i literally remember seeing an other on tiktok show off a version of her books that were discreet. they were solid colors with the titles embossed into the cover or smth and i honestly thought it was really cute and got the job done. they were even color coded based on how dark the content got??? like that's a good system if you ask me.
at the end of the day, i just think that a lot of people on booktok can't see past themselves and their own interests. they're very selfish people and completely unable to see the bigger picture

Lunar Boy by Jes & Cin Wibowo
4 out of 5 stars
I got this eARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. A child was discovered living on the moon by an exploration mission. The woman in charge of the mission immediately adopted them, raising and loving them. The child became known as "Lunar Boy" to some people, but others just called him Indu. He had to move to New Earth as his mother fell in love and married a man who had two children. The blended family tries to deal with the trials of having new people in your home, as well as trying to adjust their positions within the family. There's also the issue of not belonging anywhere--which is what Indu feels as a trans child, as a moon child. He just wants to go back home to the spaceship where there weren't as many people and everyone got along. On New Earth, there are cliques in school and people who are like Indu, but it's apparently not a good thing to be associated with them, according to the cliques at least. Indu is already getting made fun of a little for not knowing the language and being the "Lunar Boy." Does he want to be talked about even more? Or does he want to understand the queer community out there? OR does he just want to leave everything behind and go back home to the moon--before everything changed? The art is colorful and vibrant and reminds me a little of Grace Needs Space! . There's so much in this short book to pay attention to. Middle Grade readers will probably still love it, but there's some layers for sure. It dips into explanations of Indonesian culture and how colonization made the queer community feel bad for existing. But it also shows how the community is trying to get back to its roots and reclaim their history, which I think is a beautiful message. It also brings up the blended family elements, as I mentioned, and trying to fit in at school, which many Middle Schoolers will probably experience. I recommend this for any graphic novel reader who wants to learn more about LGBTQ+ cultures, Indonesian cultures, and more.

Transiting Pallas Athene enters Libra
Wednesday, September 13 - Sunday, November 19, 2023
Caveat: this probably won’t be a big deal for you, personally, unless Pallas Athene is prominent in your birth chart (closely in aspect to the Sun, the Moon, &/or an angle).
Libra is one of three signs which astrologer Demetra George associates particularly with the Lady Asteroid Pallas Athene - the other two being Leo and Aquarius. Pallas Athene likes to work with the balance and cohesion of Libra, in order to bring about creative problem-solving.
Ordinarily, then, Pallas Athene loves to be in the sign of the Scales. This particular transit, though, features a slew of challenging aspects - it will take all of Libra’s tact and diplomacy to navigate them, combined with Pallas Athene’s intelligence.
A few Libra pitfalls, to which Pallas Athene may be especially prone to experience, are (1) opting for style over substance, (2) “going along to get along,” and (3) devaluing our emotions in favor of intellectualism. Looking at Pallas Athene’s main areas:
Creative wisdom and intelligence - we’re concerned with balance; any strategies we employ might be more along the lines of countering or manipulating, rather than initiating anything. A reactive approach to problem solving.
Arts and artisans - Pallas Athene was a fiber artist, remember? We are going to come up with some beautiful, harmonious creative ideas during this transit, with an emphasis more on looking/feeling good than on utility. We want to communicate ideas through our artistic endeavors.
Political activism - we want peace and fairness; we may not be able to deal successfully with the fact that other people often do not. Negotiation and mediation skills are essential.
Professional excellence - teamwork, partnership, looking for the fairest solutions. If you want to get a good performance review, you need to get along with your colleagues.
There will be several “intermediate” aspects (semi-squares, sesquiquads, inconjuncts) between transiting Pallas Athene, and the various thingies transiting through Taurus, Virgo, and Pisces. These show delays and adjustments to whatever Pallas Athene is trying to obtain. (There were just too many of them for me to want to list; it was getting depressing!)
Here are the major aspects, giving a few days before and after:
Sunday, October 1 - Pallas Athene/Libra conjunct Sun/Libra, 8°13’. The beginning of the Sun-Pallas Athene cycle. We’re setting some lofty goals for our character development.
Thursday, October 12 - Pallas Athene/Libra conjunct Mercury/Libra, 13°06’. Ideas, of course; if our creativity runs to writing, this is like the light bulb going off in our heads to herald a new concept.
Saturday, October 21 - Pallas Athene/Libra opposite Chiron Rx/Aries, 17°12’. Not a lot of emotional sensitivity, which hurts; we may be surprised by our feelings and ill-equipped to deal with them - so we project all the hurt. This can indicate also a lot of second- and third-guessing ourselves.
Sunday, November 5 - Pallas Athene/Libra opposite North Node/Aries, conjunct South Node/Libra, 23°52’; Monday, November 6 - Pallas Athene/Libra opposite Eris Rx/Aries, 24°30’. The climax of the entire transit? It’s intense enough to have two Goddesses of war opposite each other, but throw in the Lunar Nodes too: eek. Sometimes we have to make a stand and fight; if we’ve been “going along to get along” this is where that strategy (or frankly lack thereof) will get us into deep trouble.
Tuesday, November 14 - Pallas Athene/Libra square Pluto/Capricorn, 28°11’. Wrapping our heads around some unpleasant truth. It’s crucial to release any mental negativity, blockages, and obsessions.

If your travels take you north, long from the coasts of the ice locked lands, hidden by the coast of spires that pierce the sky with their shimmering pink hues, you may stumble upon Glacecakes' court of dragons at Lunar Point. A wonderous place, filled with rich history and life that inspires and defies time itself. Take a moment and engage in the wonders each story these dragons hold.
It would be a great disservice to do a review of this lair, and not mention the beauty and wonder that is Queen Selene of the Moon. A Pearlcatcher with a wonderous appearance, reading the preview of the lore from the clan page had me curious. And curiosity lead me to her. A deserving monarch with an incredible life behind her, every bit of her history was engaging and I had to stop and regard it with a sense of accomplishment. Well put together, she deserves to be seen by many, and viewed by everyone; just as the moon in our own skies.
Now Noelani caught my sight by mere appearance alone. And then reading the lore? She had me enamoured. A real beauty of a character, even for her simpleness to want to experience life in such a novel way, with a king of her own, the manner in which is was portrayed was bitter sweet. She deserves only the very best, despite her naivety; for every character deserves to grow at heart.
Imperials are either hit or miss; depending on their history. Neyli does not miss. It would be a goddamn crime if she did. Tying in the shimmer of her wings to the accent is brilliant in it's own right, as well as ensuring the outfit she wears fits just as well? Almost like a gradient of colour that heralds the sun after a storm. She honestly is just a beautiful looking dragon and character.
I know that Roslyn's trade refers to the cutting of gems and stone work, but my brain could only chant in such an excited manner 'BLACKSMITH BOGSNEAK BLACKSMITH BOGSNEAK.' Even without lore, she gives the undoubted vibe of a hard working character, who offers no nonsense and prefers to have her days busy and full of praise on her endeavours. Her apparel is simple to her vibe, but damn if it doesn't hit just right. Words cannot explain how great she is, even without the written foundations.
