light isn't meant to be contained, especially not the sun. her parents will say that from childhood she was prone to bursts of explosive energy, always moving and never settling unless it was time for sleep. she could be seen combing through the grounds matching her footsteps to the sun, and if it was a cloudy day, luna would make it everyone's problem. her parents had hoped that her time in the academy and the army wouldn't change her but would, at the very least, help her to become more refined. it did much the opposite. the academy made luna feel that people thought too small and for matters unimportant. sure, the crops needed to grow but why stop there ?

she became known for her malicious compliance ⸺ followed orders to the letter, and not an inch more. academy turned a fun way for her to test the boundaries of instructors' patience, and her service in the army little better. her six years served, and a seventh of pure spite before she returned to targa lune.
