I want to stress that as a rule I do not cry at movies. I haven’t properly cried at a movie since I was 12 and first watched a dogs purpose. If I say I’m in pieces over a movie it usually just means I’m feeling super sad about it. No tears. Never tears.

So when I say I was bawling from the first 15 minutes of the wild robot. And I mean bawling. Like the 8 year olds around me in the theatre were looking sideways at me kinda bawling. Cried at like 9 different points in the film and was only saved from dehydration because of the funny jokes. I have never cried so much at a movie.

someday i would like to be able to create something so batshit insane that people will write meta about it for years to come. i want to make something that is impossible to parse logically, you can only experience it emotionally and FEEL what it means. i want to make something that is so drowned in symbolism that everything has two or three layers of meaning and no one will ever agree on what it "actually" means but it still resonates with some deep human truth in some way that makes people keep coming back to try and explain it
