It pisses me off to see the way some Star Wars fans are so dismissive of Reva, Third Sister.
She's complex. She's interesting. She's clever. She's intelligent. She's strategic. She's conflicted. She's traumatized. She's scared. She's angry. She's a survivor.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series literally opens with her and her friends watching one of her Jedi mentors get gunned down by clone troopers during Order 66.
She was a FUCKING CHILD!!! They were in the middle of a lesson when the clones walked in and started shooting everyone!! These were Anakin Skywalker's troopers and they were executing every single Jedi around them.
These children had NO idea what was going on. They were scared and they tried to run to safety.
We remember this scene from Revenge of the Sith and we all immediately knew what it meant.
These are the same bodies that Obi-Wan Kenobi found when he and Yoda returned to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant after having to kill so many of Anakin's clone troopers just to survive.
These are children that the Jedi Council wasn't there to save.
Palpatine snuffed out the light of the Jedi in one swift act of terrorism and then blamed the Jedi for their own genocide after taking over the entire galaxy.
And in times of war, the weakest among everyone always suffer the most.
This is what Reva, Jedi youngling, remembers most about the end of the Clone Wars.
Anakin Skywalker, hero of the Clone Wars and former padawan of the great Obi-Wan Kenobi, murdered all of her friends and injured her.
She had to play dead amongst the dead bodies of her friends, and that's how she survived. She witnessed Anakin Skywalker murder all the Jedi in the temple with no one there to stop him because the other Jedi Masters were being executed in a war they had never wanted to enter into in the first place.
She blames herself for not being able to save her friends because she wasn't strong enough to fight back. No youngling was ever going to be strong enough to stand against Anakin Skywalker. She wanted revenge against Anakin Skywalker, and she was just as desperate to get to Obi-Wan Kenobi as he was. She wanted to kill Anakin Skywalker just as badly as Darth Vader wanted to kill Obi-Wan.
She was alone in a galaxy that tortured and executed surviving Jedi. She spent ten years plotting her revenge against Anakin. She was angry at Obi-Wan for not being there to stop Anakin, and rightfully so.
The Republic fell. Reva and her friends were left unprotected. She was the only person she relied on because everyone else failed her. She was only a child when she lost everyone.
And it's clear she was conflicted by her role as an Inquisitor. She doesn't have the training the other Inquisitors do because she volunteered to be an Inquisitor while all the others were tortured and terrorized into falling to the dark side. She only wanted access to Anakin so she could get justice for what he did to her and her family.
Unlike Anakin, Reva couldn't find it in herself to harm a child. She was seeking revenge solely against Anakin Skywalker. Luke and Leia are the same age she was when she watched her friends and family die in front of her.
Yes, she was prepared to torture Leia, but she consistently hesitated, and when Tala walked in, Reva turned away. She stopped. Yeah she was mad, but she didn't have to go through with it. She'd already planted a tracker on Lola. She was already planning on allowing them to escape so she could locate their secret base. She just needed to bait Obi-Wan. Her plan worked perfectly, and she didn't even have to hurt this child who was annoying the shit out of her (not realizing she was dealing with Anakin Skywalker's offspring).
She went to Tatooine to kill Luke, but she couldn't. She hunted him down without bothering to kill Owen or Beru. She only cared about one thing. Getting justice for what happened to everyone she had been unable to save at the end of the war. She was only a child, and when she realized she was about to kill a defenseless child just to get revenge, she couldn't do it. She saw her face when she looked down at Luke and cried when she realized she couldn't do it.
She was so horrified by what she had been prepared to do and returned him to Owen and Beru alive. She fell to her knees and sobbed because she thought she failed her family in the end.
Obi-Wan was there for her this time. He reminded her that by showing mercy, she was giving her friends and family peace. She was not going to become the monster that Anakin Skywalker was.
Obi-Wan helped her and reminded her that she gets to decide who she wants to be from this point forward. She refused to become Anakin Skywalker, and a weight was finally starting to be lifted from her shoulders. A weight she had been carrying for ten long years.
She did what she thought she had to just to survive. She had only been a child with no guidance because everyone she loved died. She survived by joining the ranks of the enemy so she could plot her revenge. Obi-Wan showed her mercy at the moment she needed it most. He wasn't angry with her. He was compassionate. She survived Order 66 just like he did, but she had been defenseless when they were thrust into a galaxy that tortured and killed Force sensitive individuals and those who helped them. He had failed Reva during Order 66, and he wasn't going to fail her this time.
She is getting a second chance at finding her path in life despite the bad things she did. Everyone deserves a second chance. She was robbed of her childhood and had to grow up overnight. She had to learn how to survive. And that's exactly what she did. Just not in the way she expected.
#star wars#obi-wan kenobi#reva sevander#third sister#anakin skywalker#darth vader#order 66#luke skywalker#leia organa#reva has to learn how to forgive herself#i saw someone whine that we had grogu so we had no need for another jedi youngling survivor#like what kind of nonsense is that?#grogu was protected and taken to a safe location in the midst of order 66#reva had to watch everyone she loved die#they had extremely different experiences during the same incident#grogu was an infant and reva was in the middle of a fucking class when order 66 happened#if you can't empathize with her at all then there is something wrong with you#because i imagine an entire generation of school children in america understand exactly what that must have felt like

In honor of me not having any more bangs on the schedule for the year, here's part 1/2 of my 2023 cover collection! This portion 100% star wars. The next bit will be up tomorrow. I've started a cover collection tag for the compilations like this, but you can always look through all my bang art in my big bang tag. Though, not all of these were for big bangs. Eh, whatever.
Links and summaries below the cut!
Cover collection 2023
So There's this Guy by @catbuirs-alt & @elsaanna007 (art) (with more art by @anstarwar)
The war is over!
Jesse, Kix, Echo and Fives live together in an apartment on Coruscant.
Echo finds himself in a new romance with a beautiful woman named Hehna. After finding himself lacking in experience, Fives offers to help him out with advice and practice.
Unfortunately for Fives, this awakens some feelings he thought were buried deep and he doesn’t know what to do about them. He decides to put them aside and be happy that Echo has found someone.
Fives’ advice does help Echo become more confident with his new girlfriend, but something is holding him back. His thoughts keep returning to his best friend and he’s not the only one who notices. Will Fives keep his role as the best friend, or will Echo realize that his attraction to Hehna pales in comparison to his feelings for Fives?

Vader is a technical genius, it is a well-known fact. So, following his defeat at the hands of his old Master on Mustafar and the rise of the Empire, Vader executes his greatest act of genius to prove his dominance: he creates an artificial intelligence modeled after Obi-Wan Kenobi.
After the rise of the Empire, nothing remains of Commander Cody except for CC-2224, just another rank-and-file stormtrooper among many. He goes where he is told to go, shoots where he is told to shoot, and doesn't question it because good soldiers follow orders.
A droid told to be human meets a human told to be a droid. They meet somewhere in the middle.
(Tooka) Cat-Scratch Fever by @pebblish (art)
Luke is lonely, and instead of joining space bumble decides to cure the problem with a tooka cat. When he visits a shelter, he stumbles upon the most unadoptable feline there- a scarred, jet black, mangy creature that tears apart the homes of any who dare to adopt him.
Darth Vader has been turned into a tooka cat by his former Master, Darth Sidious. And now, he's been adopted by some blonde brat who has no idea who he's dealing with.
The pair of them are in for some startling revelations, and each will have to learn that what you want isn't always what you need.
I Wear My Sunglasses at Night by Trillium Orchid (art)
Force Osik can make things difficult and decidedly strange. Sith versions of Cody, Fox, Thorn, Thire, and Stone get switched with the bodies of their alternate selves that are from a near-cannon timeline…
They decide to Help Things- and manage to kill the Chancellor. Meanwhile, the vod’e that they switch with is trying to get back home and hop a few universes before getting switched back… after the Sith versions kill the Chancellor.
Ripple in the Universe by @darthtarvera (art)
Jango Fett has done many things in service to Mandalore. Tricking a couple of Jedi so he can use them to get to the heart of a conspiracy seems simple enough to add to the list. Get the Jedi, get to Mandalore, and find the traitors. One more step to take on his path to fix the mistakes from the last time he did this.
Ripples on the water can have longer-lasting effects than you might think. Jango Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi meet years before they were supposed to.
This changes things.
An Hourglass in Hand by @ecarian (art) (with more art by @blog-o-randomness)
“I thought daemons didn’t eat,” Rex noted once, during a celebration feast, as he and Cody watched Boga devour her meal with some fascination. Varactyl she may be, but she was a tiny one. There wasn't much interior space for the truly momentous amount of meat she was ripping into. Boga daintily rubbed her beak against a folded serviette that looked kind of like a bird, and said, prim, “I can do anything a human can do.”
“Oh?” Obi-Wan said mildly, from where he’d been tapping at a datapad. “Shall I save you a portion of these reports then?”
No Trophies, Only Prisoners by @diviluscorner (art)
Jango’s life took a wrong turn somewhere around Geonosis and spat him out years later to haunt one of his clones.
Or perhaps Jango doesn't realize the Force has other plans for him.
Every Shadow by @kenobster (art)
The days on Kadavo were long, but the nights moved quickly. Hundreds of pairs of wide, sleepless eyes haunted the space of the holding cells. Droves of terror clogged the heavy, sweaty air, and every sound, however faint, was like a physical ripple across the crowd. Every sound. The jingling of keys, the clicking of locks, the thudding of boots, and that’s how the nights on Kadavo started—with a gradual increase in the degree of quiet.
OR—during the mass casualty event following Kadavo and Zygerria, Obi-Wan and Anakin seek ways to cope with trauma.

Luke Skywalker is a hero for people with anxiety
(Contains spoilers from Episodes 4-6).
A lot of people relate to Luke Skywalker. He's down-to-earth, honest, and always strives for the light. Watching Star Wars again for the first time in a while, however, I realized something. When I looked it up on the internet, I was surprised that I couldn't find a lot of discussions about it. What do I mean? That Luke Skywalker suffers from anxiety.
The deleted scene from Tosche station, which I recently saw for the first time, sheds some light on this aspect of Luke's character. In the scene, we learn from Luke's friends that he panics easily. They're all chiding him for ‘again’ thinking that the Empire is coming. Even though he's just seen Princess Leia's ship fighting with Darth Vader's ship, his friends begin gaslighting him.
Someone online pointed out that this scene causes Luke's statement “there's nothing left for me here, now” to be more forceful. Upon finding out that his Aunt and Uncle are dead, Luke doesn't go to his friends for help. You wonder what his friends thought upon hearing that Luke's family had been killed by stormtroopers, right after he'd tried to warn them.
This aspect of Luke's character, and how he is treated by his friends, conditions him to not ask for help. In the ESB, as he's dying on Hoth, he never calls for anyone. If Obi-Wan hadn't shown up, Luke wouldn't have started calling out to him. If he hadn't started shouting, Han Solo wouldn't have seen him.
This trend continues. Luke panics about things, but doesn't ask for help. Yoda tries to help him, getting him to relax and clear his mind. But, the vision of his friends worries him too much. He makes light of Obi-Wan’s warning that the Empire is after him for his talents. Luke is still holding onto what he told Biggs in the deleted scene from Tosche station–that the Empire will never draft him.
During the fight on Cloud City, Vader acknowledges that Luke has learned to control his fear. Remember, Luke canonically gets so scared of the Sand People that he faints in the first movie. There's almost a parallel of that first moment, as Vader knocks Luke down and holds his lightsaber to Luke's throat just like the Sand People knocked him down before.
Luke has always gotten through things on his own. But, at this moment, he loses his hand. Losing his hand is symbolic of Luke losing the ability to do everything on his own. His father, who he always idolized and held onto, is evil. He's alone. He realizes that everyone was trying to protect him from this reality. Even his aunt and uncle let him think that his father was a hero, because it helped Luke to hold on.
He finally reaches out to Leia. He finally forms a real connection with someone, which requires being vulnerable, and overcoming his fear of not being taken seriously. And, Leia rescues him.
In the ROTJ, Luke tells Obi-Wan that he can't do this alone. He starts working with Han and Leia, and realizing that he is actually important to them. He trusts Leia enough to tell her that she is his sister, and that he has to save their father.
But, still, Luke is trying to do everything on his own. He goes to face his father, and tries to be calm. He tries to avoid becoming angry. He tries to control the anxiety that got him ridiculed by his friends. The anxiety that led him to destroy Vader in his vision during his training on Degobah. The anxiety that he sees as his greatest flaw.
But, he panics. He goes after Vader, and cuts off his hand. And, that's when he realizes it.
All his life, Luke has wanted to be like his father. He praised himself for the positive qualities that are like his father. Being a good pilot. Being a Jedi (before he knew that his father was Vader). But at this moment, Luke looks at Vader's mechanical hand, and realizes that his father is just like him. His father is anxious. His father was scared, and overwhelmed once, just like him. His father didn't have anyone to turn to.
Luke stands up to the Emperor, but that isn't what causes this scene to be so powerful. It's the fact that, as Luke is dying, he says the words his father once desperately wanted to say to someone.
“Help me.”
“Please, help me.”
And Anakin, who wished someone would help him, who told Luke that it was too late for him, realizes that he can be that person for someone else. The pain he's gone through his whole life doesn't have to be passed on. He can save his son from the same fate. And he does.
That's why Luke Skywalker is a hero for people who suffer from anxiety. Because he shows us the importance of accepting ourselves. Of self-compassion. Of reaching out to others. Of not being afraid to ask for help when we need it. And, if we do, we might just be that little spark of hope that someone else needs.
May the Force be with you, always.

The Force
This is another, ‘the Force is fucking with us right?’ Kind of idea that I feel like makes up about half my ideas.
It starts just after Obi Wan Kenobi is beheaded on the death star. The Millenium Falcon has just exited the Death Star but has not jumped to hyperspace yet. The alarms have not quite rung when two things happen that derail the entire sequence of events.
First Obi Wan Kenobi and Cody (who had been on Alderaan when it was vaporized) appear, from apparently nowhere in front of Luke, Leia, and Han. They look like they did at the beginning of the Clone War (Obi Wan is still only just recognizable as Old Ben). The second is that Alderaan (and Scarif) reappeared, completely undamaged (I just want you to picture, for a moment, the operators and techs of the Death Star or anyone looking out of one of the viewports where the Planet they just vaporized-with all the detritus that entailed- reappeared unharmed). Though it was not known right away every single victim of the Empire from the Purge forward (including the Clones) have reappeared, spread out throughout Alderaan.
Every single one of them have all their memories up to their deaths. Those that had been dead for more than a month also have some idea of what has happened since their death (taking into account age, mindset, and how traumatic the knowledge would be for them).
Everyone is still very confused.
On the Millenium Falcon, they do not jump to hyperspace because they are too busy gawking at the two men that just appeared (and everyone on board, barring the formerly dead men, is asking themselves some version of -does The Force work like that?). Then they notice that there suddenly is a planet where there had been a debris field.
Feeling more than a little bewildered, Han hesitantly begins to fly toward the planet and in the background CodyWan reunites after twenty years of believing the other was dead. They are guided to the Royal landing pad by a few shaken techs who will be asking for a vacation and a raise.
Onboard the Death Star, the low level techs consider if they should call Darth Vader? Should they call the Emperor? Fire again (It would take time for the weapon to charge and no one is really sure a second shot would do anything if the planet was reconstituted the first time)?
Vader is still down in the hallways of the ship, feeling anticlimactic victory over Obi Wan’s robes and well away from any viewport when suddenly the Force is feeling much…fuller? Then it had been a few moments before. The screaming that had been deafening since Alderaan’s destruction quieted and the crying he had been perceiving since killing the younglings had ebbed.
On of the comm techs hesitantly (so hesitantly, their speech was all full of all umms and errrs and they really hope that they do not piss Darth Vader enough for him to hunt the tech down-it would not be the first time something like that had happened) tells him that there was a Padme Amidala calling from the planet demanding to talk to him.
Vader manages to get out that she should be patched through. A large part of him is going PADME!!!!!!! A smaller part is going ‘there’s no planet here any longer?’
The conversations start with Padme going “ANAKIN NO MIDDLE NAME SKYWALKER” in a very pissed off tone. It does not get better for Vader from there.
This is not the same Padme at the end of ROTS, who had gotten so caught up in being in a romance novel that she was smacked in the face with the third act twist of it turning into a horror story. This version of Padme has been watching for twenty years exactly what Anakin was doing, separated from her need to see the best in him. She is closer to her TPM self, and absolutely livid at Fascism done in her name. Padme is also, to her reckoning, back from the dead, about to meet her children for the first time, and possibly immortal (after what just happened…who knows).
Somehow Padme’s entire rant is broadcast throughout the Death Star. None of the stormtroopers know who this person is but they have a deep instinctual need to surrender (Even Tarkin does not recognize Padme after 20 years).
The Millenium Falcon lands on Alderaan. Leia grabs her parents and holds on, before anyone can say anything. Luke sees Owen and Beru (also brought back, and to Alderaan) and does the same. Obi Wan and Cody are off to one side holding each other (Obi Wan is basking in the Force being lighter than it has in 2 decades-though he does not know that rest of the Jedi are also back). Han hovering off to one side awkwardly.
Padme comes storming out, having just finished her…conversation with Anakin. Obi Wan jolted (being the only person currently paying attention who would recognize Padme-Also Bail and Breha had already had the ‘oh that kind of back from the dead’ realization). Padme strode right up to Obi wan and slapped him upside the head ‘that is for getting decapitated before telling my kids they were siblings’ then she hugged him.
After a long period of time, Luke and Leia separate enough from their adoptive parents to meet their mother. Also getting to realize that they were siblings.
After the current reuniting, and uniting, is over Padme says ‘Oh, Anakin will be coming down shortly, he has some things he needs to say’.
Obi Wan, the only other person who knows exactly who Anakin Skywalker is, goes ‘Padme…that may not be a good idea’
Padme gives a smile that could also double as a threat display, though not aimed at anyone present. ‘You need not worry, Obi Wan, Anakin will be spending the rest of his life making up for what he has done.’
For the first time Obi Wan considers that cutting off Anakin's limbs and leaving him to burn on the bank of a lava river was actually kinder than letting him face the full fury of Padme Amidala.
He did manage to communicate exactly who Anakin Skylwaker is. Thankful, at least, that Padme was there for the ‘Our father is Whom???’ Padme does reassure Leia that she did not have to be there and confront the person who tortured her and blew up her planet, but Anakin does owe them all at least one Apology. Leia promptly decides she would be there.
It is an Awkward set of meetings, not the least of which is because Mace Windu comes through with some of the formally murdered younglings (who all knew what they would be facing and wanted to confront their murderer). Vader (and he is still mostly Vader) is not sure why Padme Amidala is intimidating him, but he is going with it.
At some point someone brings up the Emperor. Padme makes that same smile, the threat display, and says that Palpatine should probably start running before she got to him. Far away Palpatine felt a chill along his spine…something had just gone very wrong.
There will be time to deal with the new metric ton of trauma. Seriously there are types of trauma that had never existed that they would have to develop therapy for. There are people to find places for that have been dead for twenty years. There is still an Empire to dismantle.
But for now there is a man who is arguably the second most evil person in the galaxy awkwardly apologizing to his daughter (unknown) for torturing her and blowing up her planet, her adoptive parents for blowing them up, a slew of children he murdered, as well as an entire planets worth of people (many of whom he owes a very personal apology-also probably some kind of compensation), with his 5’3” formerly dead wife looking on.
Even the Force has no idea how we got here.

Hello there! Care to share with me what got you into star wars (Anidala/Vaderdala, particularly)? And I'm currently reading Beauty & Rage, and let me tell you; Friday is one of the days of the week I look forward to along with Wednesdays (iykyk)
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you're enjoying Beauty & Rage, it's been so much fun for me to write it! Sorry it's taken me so long to get to your question, things have been a little crazy for me!
I'm going to start by answering your question of what got me into Star Wars:
I honestly don't remember the first time I watched Star Wars. Both of my parents were born in 1972, so they were 5 when Star Wars: A New Hope came out for the first time. They grew up as the Original Trilogy was coming out and became pretty big fans of the movies.
My first Star Wars memories weren't even of the movies– they are of my sister and I pretending to be Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader (I was Darth Vader, of course) and fighting with imaginary lightsabers. I must have been 3 or 4?
Star Wars was just a part of me for as long as I can remember.
Alright, what got me into Anidala/Vaderdala?
When I was 3, The Phantom Menace came out. I don't remember watching it, but as I got a little older, I remember thinking Padmé was awesome and she became my favorite female SW character (it was previously Leia and my favorite character overall was Vader).
I was 6 when Attack of the Clones came out and Anakin immediately became my first love.
Like instantly.
Second he was on screen?
Boom.
I was in love.
Anakin was my favorite character from that moment on.
And then when I was 9, Revenge of the Sith came out and it broke my heart. (ROTS is also what made me realize I wanted to be a writer.)
Even though I already knew Darth Vader had been Anakin Skywalker, seeing it happen, seeing why he became what he became and how it was all for love and then how all amounted to nothing… it just destroyed me, and I hated it and I loved it and it immediately became my favorite thing ever.
To this day, Revenge of the Sith is my favorite movie– in Star Wars, and in general.
When it comes to Anidala, I have never seen true love in any movie or book so all-encompassing, so pure, so transcendent. I love how Anakin and Padmé's love for each other never faltered. Even as Palpatine tried to poison it, he never succeeded in turning Anakin against Padmé.
I love (and hate) that scene in ROTS where Anakin and Padmé meet one final time, and they both hurt each other so deeply that neither of them ever recover, and it's all just a terrible misunderstanding. They both love each other too much to see through their own pain.
Padmé has gone to him, and is willing to forgive Anakin for the horrible things he's done ("Come away with me, leave everything else behind while we still can"). The understanding they have for each other is boundless. She understands why he's done what he's done, and yet he hurts her, and this is something Anakin would never do. This is so unlike the man she knows, he would never ever hurt her. And the fact that he's hurting her means that in some way, she has lost him– the only person she has ever truly loved, the only person who truly knows her– and this breaks her.*
Anakin has just sold his soul– he even cries as he stares down upon the lava rivers of Mustafar, and my interpretation is that he's crying because he's dealing with the terrible things he's done. But it's worth it, because now he'll be strong enough to save the only person in the galaxy who matters, the only person who truly knows him. And then she arrives, and looks at him with horror in her eyes and says she doesn't know him anymore. And he looks up, and there's Obi-Wan. And he realizes that the woman he's just sold his soul for, the woman he's committed atrocities for wants him dead. This is more than he can bear. He has not stopped loving her, he is just so consumed in his own pain– the pain of realizing that Padmé brought Obi-Wan there to kill him, the pain of realizing that maybe she doesn't love him anymore– and it hurts so much and he just can't listen to her excuses and her lies, because every word breaks him more.**
In my opinion, even in this terrible, heartbreaking scene, George Lucas (along with Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen) did a fantastic job of showing that they still loved each other more than anything, even here.
But everything around them was falling apart.
I loved it because– even at the end, both of them were trying so hard to save each other that they destroyed themselves in the process.
I hope that answers your questions!
Also you can read below for notes.
*Padmé is aware that Anakin is still in there, but what happened was so traumatic and terrible that she can't recover.
**I say this every time I talk about this, but I am not defending Vader's actions in this scene. I am merely providing context, because context does matter. His actions are absolutely indefensible, but it is important to remember he is not acting out of hatred, he is acting out of such unbelievable pain.

A Mothers anguish-A father's punishment
Warnings: DDDNE, main character death, allusions to r@pe, child murder, death, suicide, unborn child killed and other possible triggering things
don't like then please don't read
y/n pov
I've been trapped here on this stupid ship for years and it only feels like yesterday that he took me here after he killed my children……..
“Oh my sweet luke and leia….” I sob out into my hands before looking up and out the window and seeing the part of the galaxy where we've stopped at. I remember it so clearly it was 5 years after order 66, with the help of obi wan i was able to birth my twins, luke and leia and help me settle down on tatooine. Obi wan also told me anakin had fallen into the dark side, something i thought impossible of anakin. We also had to pursue him to confront him and only for him to force choke me to unconsciousness and only woke up when the battle between obi wan and anakin's fight was over. Luke and Leia were adorable and looked like Anakin so much and the years flew by and my children were 5 and so full of life and HE came.
Flashback
I was in the kitchen humming an old lullaby only to hear my children scream out in fear. I rushed outside only to find lukes’ neck in the hands of darth vader struggling and leia with a still slightly smoking wound in her chest.
“M-mama” Luke choked out, his little hand reaching out and eyes pleading for me, only to go limp and lifeless with a sick crunch and let go to fall next to his motionless sister. I scream out in agony and rush forwards, dropping to my knees scrambling to clutch my lifeless children. The last thing i had of anakin, i weep desperately into my childrens bodys’ as vader watches unmoved before im struck in the back of the head, vision going dark.
Flashback over
It's been 18 years since then and ive had one more child with another on the way. I love my new children but still weep for my long lost ones. Atlas my son with vader, he has my deep (e/c) and my (h/c) and there are other qualities that mirror anakins and that's how i found out that vader was anakin but sick and twisted, a shell of a dutiful and loving man i knew. If I was honest I did not want any more kids but Vader cared very little about my opinion and forced me to have atlas and soon another on the way. I had nearly thrown up when I found out, to know he had killed his own children without mercy. As I stare out the huge window still lost in thought to be snapped back to reality to a knock on my door.
“Come in” my tone authoritatively turned my body to the door, the long dress twisting with my body. Incomes a stormtrooper and he bows before speaking and as the words escape his mouth my eyes widen and my fears have come to fruition yet again
“Empress, i'm here to report to you that prince atlas has been killed in battle” and after he finished he bowed again and walked out of vaders’ and my chambers. I stand there frozen in agony and anguish of losing yet another one of my babies. I clutch my growing bump before falling to my knees and let out scream from the back of my throat, one only a mother grieving her child could let out. I fall forwards onto my hands, tears leaving small puddles on the gray steel floors. My mind races with thoughts and worries for the only remaining child I have, the one in my womb and My mind spiraling into a dark place.
“ I won't let him take my last child, not my little juniper” I whisper out protectively, eyes wide and full of tears still, searching my room for something and I finally spot it. I get up and stumble over it. I reach my hand forwards and wrap my hands around the cold steel handle of the dagger and lift it up to my eyes before turning around and walking to my bedside table to retrieve one last thing. Opening my drawer to the bedside table I fish out anakins and my old wedding rings, his a silver band with my (e/c) as the jewels around the band and mine with a silver band as well with a good size steely blue gem as the centerpiece. I look at them lovingly and smile sadly, I slowly shift my eyes to the new wedding band Vader gave me. It's black and red, it screams sith, I reach up and rip the vile ring off and throw it at the wall. I return to the window and I kneel onto my knees and raise the dagger up to align to my womb before thrusting it into myself and I bite my lip to muffle my scream, I pull the blade out to then thrust it back in again in a different area of my womb. After a couple more thrust the dagger falls from my hand and clatters to the floor. I fall to my side hugging my belly, shedding tears that slide across the bridge of my nose to land on the floor, I bring my clasped hand to look at me and Anakin's wedding rings before placing a final kiss upon his ring and resting my hand against my chest. I slowly feel myself dying from blood loss and whisper out one last thing unknown to me the force carried it to the shell of the man i said it about and go lifeless
“Anakin……i-i love you forever and always my dear sun…”
Vader pov
I stand in my throne room facing the wide window that shows the galaxy as i think of atlas when i hear a faint whisper in my mind
“Anakin……i-i love you forever and always, my beloved sun…”
My eyes widened behind my mask and realized she sounded weak. A chill runs down my spine and a pit of dread forms in my stomach. Worriedly I turned around and pushed myself as fast as I could down the halls of the ship to my chambers, doors sliding open to reveal my wife laying on the ground in a puddle of her own blood, her once white dress now red and clinging to her form. I rushed towards her dropping to my knees beside her to turn her onto her back, seeing the blood had come from her belly. I moved her into my arms and cradled against my chest and began rocking back and forward. My breathing comes out patchy through the vocoder and tears fogging the lenses of my mask. My mind wanders over the last 18 years and everything happening, I realize I was cruel and vile to her and the death of Atlas must have been the tipping point. I have taken her against her will, killed my own children and isolated her from everything. I let out a muffled scream as it all hits at once, I rest my head against her looking into her dull lifeless eyes and bring a hand up to close them. Here i sit and wallow in my regrets and grief
All I have done was for not, I'm alone again and it's all my fault

i present: small and non-verbal but very funny star wars moments:
ep. V: the empire strikes back--the millenium falcon achieves hyperspeed again, despite the imperials' best plans to the contrary. admiral piett and his men are terrified of vader's reaction, all trying to stay out of his path. but he's still too busy brooding on his loss of luke to even force-choke anyone. that's how thrown off he was by his newly-mutilated son running away from him!
the sole exception to this collective terror being this guy, so intent on his own important work, that he doesn't even notice his scary boss until darth vader has walked right past him.
ep. III: revenge of the sith--padme's droids somehow getting her unconscious body back on her ship.
in the novelisation, r2-d2 just drags her up the ramp with his gadgetry, but in the script it's c-3po who carried her up bridal style. which would be impossible to film when 3po could barely manage to move around under his own weight. what makes it really funny for me is that there was no need for any of this. why not just have obi-wan pick her up as he's hurrying outta there after failing to kill her husband? i mean, it's surely not good to be lying out in the open on a volcanic world with poisonous gases, but it wouldn't be good for obi-wan running around out there either, and this lady was about to have broken heart as her only known cause of death. when has science ever held back star wars? and i can't imagine that being dragged by wires from artoo or dropped every few steps by threepio could've been too good for her body either. just makes for an absurd little (offscreen) background detail amid the tragedy of the end of padme's life, imho.
ep. IV: a new hope--obi-wan vanishing into thin air when struck down and vader's (very understandable) bafflement afterward.
by this point in the second screencap, luke is shooting at him in retaliation and the stormtroopers are all shooting back at luke, but anakin is still dealing with this unprecendented vanishing and busy searching for any corporeal remains of obi-wan kenobi with his boot. "where did you go, my old master? how could this happen? i wasn't done fighting with you yet."
ep. V: the empire strikes back--vader inviting lando calrissian, chewbacca, han solo, and princess leia to share a meal with him and boba fett, before taking chewie, han, and leia prisoner and torturing han.
i think a lot of people must assume there was no actual meal, but it's not like vader had to go to all that trouble in the first place of setting out an entire banquet table with proper containers and utensils. just because that was lando's pretext to bring them to vader does not necessitate actually having a table set. darth vader could have had them led into any other room with boba fett and stormtroopers waiting to just arrest them right away. instead, as we can see in the second screencap, (over lando's shoulder and leia's bun), vader did sit down at the head of the table, waiting for his prey to join him. and i swear, in one of the earlier drafts of empire's screenplay there is actually a scene showing their awkward meal together. or rather, han and leia being served food and drinks while darth vader just sits there, watching evilly, explaining his great villainous plan to use them to trap luke. it's like dr. evil making austin and vanessa sit down at his table in the first austin powers movie. darth vader really did always live for drama
ep. VI: return of the jedi--leia telling han that she loves luke, but not that way. he's her brother, silly! as if this is something they all knew all along, with zero follow-up explanation. you can just see han wordlessly processing this bombshell of brand new information through his facial expressions alone. (this lasts so long that i wouldn't even count it were it not likely overshadowed by everything else in the ending of rotj.)
wh-what did you say? your brother? since when?
wait-wait-wait. i've seen you mouth kissing luke right in front of me before. i'm so confused now.
just what kind of weirdo family have i gotten myself mixed up with here?
oh, well, she's only kissing me now. that's good enough, i guess. maybe?
hey, as long as you do love me and luke in different ways ...
i don't know much about families, but i've heard they all have their weird traditions. so who am i to judge you, babe? as long as we're together now, that's all that matters.
#swedit#star wars#anakin skywalker#darth vader#padme amidala#lando calrissian#chewbacca#han solo#leia organa#yes i did use very specific adjectives to exclude most of the st#tho i do think there's some funny intentional and more overt humor in the jj saga#tlj was more marvel-like humor which was its real greatest sin#tumblr won't let you do a numbered list in descending order so just imagine it's a top 5 that way#(c)lsb

watching your slow slide into star wars has got me thinking: what do you think are the main differences in characterization between obi-wan and chu wanning??
Not to get all meta-y but like. This ask. head explodes. The ask to end all asks i'm gonna go crazy. The obi-wan information is informed by the books and movies, not the cartoon show.
I legitimately believe that Obi-Wan is like, the polar opposite of Chu Wanning in almost every possible way, and I believe that Chu Wanning would view Obi-Wan as legitimately banally evil on the same level as the upper cultivation guys he hates. On an aesthetic "emotionally stunted shizun, doomed disciple" level they're similar, but that's where it ends. Their differences primarily lie with their different opposite to the world around them and levels of complacency with corrupt systems.
It all boils down to the fact that Obi-Wan is orthodox and Chu Wanning is revolutionary.
Obi-Wan is a good Jedi, it's his entire identity, but being a good Jedi does not necessarily make a good person (ie. Jedi have noble motives but centuries of systematic complacency have led them to be passive towards institutional problems like slavery, which they allow to continue) and as a result lacks actual overarching moral conviction to be anything else but good at what his order requires of him. He has been trained by complacent people and raised in an environment where anything else outside of his own insular group is considered uncivilized and must be tamed (if we're using religious metaphors, he's like a bishop raised at the Vatican). His conception of morality is passive and he never questions it as he follows the tenets of his Order but little else. Breaking from the rules is seen as problematic or a deficiency of character because of this (which is brought up a lot in Jedi quest and other books), not as a potential vehicle to question why things are the way they are. To him, things are the way they are for a reason, and everyone must abide by them, because that is the way they are. Upon the destruction of the order, without the rules in place that he's always followed, he falls back on complacency and indecision: for example, when he's faced with having to kill or save his disciple, he chooses to do nothing and Darth Vader is made because of that. He doesn't join the subsequent resistance, and he also eventually just trains Luke to go do the job he still doesn't want to do (kill Anakin/Vader). You can argue that this is a love thing and while yeah that has stuff to do it I'm a bit uncharitable about it given everything, because if love had everything to do with it he could have done the merciful thing and killed Anakin or saved him, but he did neither. He's a warning against inaction.
Chu Wanning on the other hand is a cultivator but an incredibly strong moral backbone to the point where he is actively willing to destroy himself to save people less fortunate than him. He'll break rules to dole out justice or punishment even if it's in anger. I call him Homura from Madoka if she was a socialist because that's kind of what he is lol. The cultivation world and sects exists to support his own moral goals (making armor for the poor, etc.) and he doesn't rely on them for guidance (as proven with how he left his previous master, then the Nangongs, and why he stays at Sisheng Peak). He is willing to defy everyone and everything to save people. And like when his own disciple is 'bad' and being punished by the institution, he makes proactive decisions to go against them in a spectacular display to get him back and take him away. His understanding of morality is informed by the actions of people themselves, uninformed by institutional rules. It's what makes him beloved to me...
Anyways.
Chu Wanning is so precious and i want to wrap him in a blanket while Obi-Wan the coward stands outside in the rain and just gets wetter and wetter and comes down with the flu. I love them both a wholeeeeeee lot. I just realize now that comparing Chu Wanning to him or thinking they're similar is like comparing idk. Ancient china Jesus and…I wouldn’t go so far as to say Judas, but maybe Peter or Thomas

I’ve always been curious about Obikin, because it never felt right to me, but it isn’t exactly a pro-ship? I can never really tell. On one hand there’s the “you were my brother Anakin” on the other theres the headcanons. I just wanna know what the appeal is from someone who ships them. /gen
i’m not the best person to answer this bc i really don’t care at all if a ship is problematic or proshipper or whatever lol, i mean the first thing i did after watching the kenobi show was to look out for art and fics of vader nonconning obi-wan 🤪 and even if anakin and obiwan were siblings (which they aren’t let’s be real) i’m all for the dead dove ngl!! also it’s fiction… have a little more fun cuz this shouldn’t be that different than playing with our barbies when we were 4 and making them kill each other or have orgies together lol
but to answer your question, first i found their cat-and-mouse dynamic in kenobi really hot. vader obsessing diligently on his old master who he claims he doesn’t care about anymore was crazy. however, i think obikin is a beautifully complicated relationship. it’s canon that both anakin and obi-wan’s entire relationship is built on duality: master and apprentice, dark and light, love and hate, two halves of the same coin. this is some soulmatism shit that i fuck with and i was never into the whole soulmates tbh. i also think obi-wan is a heavily repressed man in terms of love and attachments and following the code to the core, and ofc struggles with his love for anakin: he cannot control him in any way for the force against humanity that anakin is (he’s such a momboy) plus he had the chance to kill him a couple of times and yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it and finally free him from the misery of being darth vader, bc of his love for him. he even spent his life in exile and probably didn’t kill himself just for the sake of anakin’s children. it’s not a coincidence that he decided to finally die and join the force when luke and leia were reunited and he guaranteed their safety
and then you have anakin who is anything but someone who subdues his feelings: he thrives for love, love is was fuels him and the reason he Fell on the first place, he pushes and pushes like the way he did to get padme to love him. i simply love how their own approach to love complements each other so well and i cannot get enough of it, bc at the end of the day they are both each other’s most important person. like look at this extract of this novel where anakin finally joins the force after ROTJ and how obi-wan has his own whole sentence from the other ones (even from padme!!!! or shmi!!!!)
idk man i just love them so much
#obikin#also ppl need to stop calling incest whatever they don’t like#saying that their age difference is too big is one thing BUT INCEST??? 😭#they are literally not siblings or neither grew up together in that way so that statement is just simply wrong#and feels like a lazy excuse idk… in any case they were “brother in arms”#but honestly? whatever like even if i they were i would still find it hot (or maybe even hotter)#i have literally drawn noncon obikin scenarios of anakin molesting a 12 y/o obi-wan or anakin fucking his biologic mother obiwan#do you think “you were my brother anakin” does face me 🤣

The Prequel Trilogy
I know I'm a RWBY page, but can I talk about Star Wars for a moment. I feel like so many Star Wars fans are so blinded by their nostalgia they refuse to critically engage with it as a piece of art. Like man how did y'all misunderstand the prequel trilogy?
Okay so as y'all know I'm watching this video by a channel called We Are Not Alive.
youtube
However, in the last post I complained about the subject of the video Just A Robot but I'm complaining about We Are Not Alive themselves. (BTW it seems to be a group channel, and I don't know the name of the person doing this video specifically)
This person complained about Just A Robot using Darth Vader as an example of a good villain while making an off handed remark on the Cruella De Vil movie and shitting on the Maleficent movie. We Are Not Alive then goes on to call the Prequel Trilogy the worst movies ever made and mischaracterize Anakin Skywalker's entire arc. Like he complained about Just A Robot doing with the female villains within his video.
Like this is what they say about Anakin Skywalker within those movies "Anakin Skywalker acts like an insufferable little shit for five agonizing hours before flipping and committing some religious genocide with a little bit of light child murder on the side all because some Tusken Raiders killed his mom and he was scared about his wife dying all of which is forgiven because he doesn't want his crusty old boss to tase his son to death if we're talking about origin stories that strip the magic away from a once intimidating villain the Star Wars prequel trilogy is the gold fucking standard"
Which is crazy. How the fuck do you miss the point of Star Wars! The point of Anakin acting like a brat in Attack of The Clone was to show that while yes. Anakin is a kind, talented, young man he is also incredibly arrogant.
He complains over and over again about Obi-Wan but shows little to no self-awareness about his own flaws or take the time to understand where Obi-Wan is coming from. He is a bratty child being manipulated by Palpatine and is reckless and impulsive and has an authoritative mindset that does not go well with Jedi principles.
This line from We Are Not Alive's weird ass rant in particular grinds my gears "before flipping and committing some religious genocide with a little bit of light child murder on the side all because some Tusken Raiders killed his mom and he was scared about his wife dying" Because
Anakin Skywalker is a person who is deeply afraid of losing those he loves. That was set up in Phantom Menace reestablished in Attack of The Clones which then paid off in Revenge of The Sith. Like he is a person who is so afraid of losing those he cares for he would do the unspeakable in their name. Like murder or genocide. How did that go over their head? What the fuck?
This line is where I get my opening sentiment from "if we're talking about origin stories that strip the magic away from a once intimidating villain the Star Wars prequel trilogy is the gold fucking standard."
Because Darth Vader is only intimidating in the first two movies by the last one Return of The Jedi his mask is both literally and metaphorically removed. He is no longer that intimidating villain we once knew but a sad old man who deeply regrets all he has done but feels it is too late to turn back. He saves his son and is therefore redeemed in the eyes of Luke and the Force.
The only way someone could still see Darth Vader as an intimidating villain who we are meant to fear and not a tragic figure to mourn by the end of that movie is if they watched it with their eyes closed. Or if they watched it as a kid and never unpacked what it was trying to say. The prequels didn't strip the magic of intimidating Darth Vader away Return of The Jedi did.
Anyway, thank for tuning in to my TedTalk! I will never let slander against Anakin Skywalker prevail! he is one of the best characters in fiction and I will not be told otherwise! Have a wonderful day!

So.
Was anyone going to tell me before I started reading the William Shakespeare's Star Wars Series by Ian Doescher
That this man rivals Matthew Stover himself in his ability to take Revenge of the Sith from tragic to absolutely SOUL-CRUSHING?
@whyoneartheven GET OVER HERE AND TAKE A LOOK AT THIS. YOU LIKE SHAKESPEARE WE CAN BE NERDS TOGETHER
Highlights from The Tragedy of the Sith's Revenge:
The use of Rumor as a character and a plot device, like in Richard III, because Dramatic Irony
After the whole "Hey the Jedi Council doesn't trust the chancellor, we need you to spy on him" debacle, Obi-Wan gets a monologue about how much he loves Anakin and has been worrying about a growing darkness within him, and swears to do whatever he can to prevent him from Darkness
The Tragedy Of Darth Plagueis The Wise (tm) is a PLAY WITHIN A PLAY THAT PALPATINE ASKS THE ACTORS TO PERFORM, like in Hamlet, CAUSE PALPATINE AND ANAKIN ARE AT AN OPERA OH MY GOSH I LOST MY MIND IT'S SO COOL
Padme keeps having lines about how worried she is for Anakin and how she keeps praying for the preservation of his soul ;_;
After Anakin's fall, he and Palpatine are referred to for the REST OF THE PLAY as Vader and Sidious
TWO UNNAMED JEDI HAVE THEIR OWN SCENE ABOUT HOW WHILST LOOKING THROUGH THE CLONE HANDBOOK (tm) THEY NOTICED THAT A CERTAIN ORDER WAS SKIPPED OVER. THEY THEN LAUGH ABOUT IT AND GO TO WATCH THE YOUNGLINGS DO THEIR LIGHTSABER PRACTICE
Sidious has a soliloquy about his awfulness. ENDING IN: "Die, light, die, any good that ever was,/Die, wisdom; yea, die, virtue, die, respect,/Die, honor, die, nobility, die, right-/These qualities shall perish on this day./For lo, the Sith do ply their merry tricks,/Come, Death: thy name is Order Sixty-Six."
I AM SCREAMING
FREAKING CODY HAS A MONOLOGUE ABOUT HOW HE DOESN'T WANT TO KILL HIS BEST FRIEND OBI-WAN
I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE TO MAKE ANAKIN KILLING CHILDREN SADDER BUT APPARENTLY IT'S POSSIBLE IF YOU HAVE HIM ASK THEM IF THEY'VE SAID THEIR PRAYERS BECAUSE, AND I QUOTE, "I WOULD NOT KILL YOUR UNPREPARÉD SPIRITS;/NO, HEAV'N FORFEND! I WOULD NOT KILL YOUR SOULS"
When Yoda sends Obi-Wan to fight Anakin on Mustafar, Obi has a monologue about how PERHAPS, ONE DAY IN THE FUTURE, HE MIGHT BE ABLE TO COME TO TERMS WITH THE FACT THAT VADER HAS EFFECTIVELY KILLED ANAKIN "FROM A CERTAIN POINT OF VIEW"
The whole "You turned her against me/You have done that yourself/You will not take her from me/Your anger and your lust for power have already done that/et cetera et cetera/I will do what I must/You will try" is done using, of all things, Nautical and Sailorly imagery. High Fantasy Star Wars, Anyone? (this legitimately made me so happy; they also have a similar conversation in The Clone Army Attacketh during the scene where Padme's asleep and they're talking about politicians)
WHEN. WHEN OBI CUTS OFF HIS LEGS AND IS DOING THE WHOLE "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE" SPEECH. ANAKIN HAS A MONOLOGUE ABOUT HOW HE'D CRY TO OBI-WAN FOR HELP BUT (HE THINKS) OBI-WAN WOULD ABANDON HIM, WHICH ENDS IN "I HATE YOU"
Hey. Hey listen. Obi-Wan, after the battle, SINGS a FUNERAL LAMENT for Anakin
"Although it may be said that I have won,/Herein hath died the heart of Obi-Wan" EXCUSE ME MR DOESCHER WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A CONVERSATION
No no, listen to what Padme says about her children: "He shall be Luke, and walk among the skies./Heart of mine heart, and issue of my love." "'Tis Leia, who, like me, is royalty./Brave spirit, do remember thy sad mother."
(loud ugly sobbing can be heard from Margin)
I AM. NOT OKAY
#star wars#william shakespeare's star wars#guys this series is so fun and you should totally read it#master disaster himself#obes kenobes#i love padme

Hi there take some unsolicited starwars fic ideas that Im literally never going to fully write but am agressivley thinking about anyways
Summary:
A ghost sits in the emperor's shadow. Teeth bared, eyes sharp, lying in wait.
Tldr; Fox is killed by Palpatine but at this point his soul has been fucked with by dark force shit(tm) so much that he's able to linger on as a half-there remnant
When Luke confronts Palpetine some more weird force shit(tm) happens and Fox is able to manifest in time to kill the bitch, and by eating his soul (???) he gains the power to manifest more fully as some sort of very much *not* human force,,, *thing*
Also Cody and Obi-Wan are still alive and also are sickeningly in love because fuck you that's why
I need you to imagine Sunshine Luke holding up Clearly Not Normal Fox like
"!!!!!! Look what I found!!!!!!"
"Luke he ate the emperor"
"Ok and?"
This also means Darth Vader is alive so he's just kind of Awkwardly standing there in the corner like
🧍♂️ "Commander Fox. I am." *heavy breathing.* "Pleased to see you survived."
"I didn't."
*More heavy breathing*
No clue how that'd go but it'd go SOMEWHERE
Maybe Fox wanted to eat him too but has some sort of weird pity for him after watching over the Emperor's shoulder for so many years. They're both Palpatine's fucked up little experiments, even if Fox can identity exactly what went wrong a LOT better than Anakin. Hell, they actually possibly interacted some before Fox got axed, maybe they were almost friends. Got that good old 'unspoken understanding' energy where they make eye contact once in a while and just kind of nod and look away.
Thinking also ab how the rebels are either, totally off put and don't trust him at all or *Oh wow well he killed the emperor for us!!! But he's also uhh. Kind of a freak. But he killed the emperor, so???* or just full throttle *He killed!!! The emperor!!! My favorite boy!!!! Look at him go!!!!! Eldrich who?? I don't care I am in LOVE!!!!*
Fox getting all this love and support from some VERY eager and thankful rebels. He's one of them now!! No take backs!!!!
Also Luke has absoloutley claimed him as his own. Cool powerful clone commander??? Sort of friends with his dad??? Killed the emperor??? Luke NEEDS them to be friends. Leia is a bit more hesitant at first but warms up quickly, and Han is Han so he probably makes some noise ab it but the second he hears anyone say shit he's ready to throw down.
I'm actually a personal fan of 'being half force means Anakin was a 'lill otherworldly and that otherness definatley passed down to his kids' so maybe Palpatine's experiments had to do with trying to shove some of that specific otherworldliness into Fox, and it kind of resonates with the twins. They see him and just go *!!!! Oh???? One of us???*
Han in the bg with his own weird force null thing and his close relationship with the twins just. Not really sensing anything wrong. He's grown even number to weird otherness and eldrich force vibes, Fox is a bit odd to him but he just can't see what the fuss is about. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down smh
And Fox ofc just standing there covered in blood as he's suddenly receiving all this positive attention and support like *I don't know how to feel about any of this.*
Part of him wants to just. Return to the shadows. He's done his part now. He wants to rest. Let the man SLEEP he's fucking earned it
Anyways this is definatley inspired more than a little by @wreathedinscales's Corrie Red AU, which you should absoloutley read if you like anything eldrich and anything Fox

The tall Skakdi shrugged, “Big enough. You said that they are called Orks? Well, they stand perhaps as tall as,” she started to point at Jaller, then seemed to reconsider and pointed to Naparu instead, “you, there. Their armour is heavy, and strong. They carry both ranged and melee weapons, I would reckon them to be more dangerous in close than at range. They are strong and fast. We didn’t witness any elemental powers among them, but I would caution that they would say the same of ourselves.”

Cal climbed up onto a ledge and ambushed a pair of scout-troopers, one of whom he shoved off into the bottomless void beneath the tomb, and the other who managed to parry him once before being cut in half diagonally. “Count Dooku and Lord Vader don’t even have remotely similar fighting styles,” was Trilla’s eventual reply. “Oh, that’s weak, and you know it!"

“Aurek, Senth, Aurek, Jenth Jenth, space, Vev, Esk, Nern, Trill, Resh, Esk, Senth Senth.” “Species?” “Rattataki,” Asajj offered to the physician. They gave her a flat look in response, which Asajj interpreted as nonrecognition, “Near human, from the Outer Rim.” “’The Outer Rim’ she says, like it isn't three quarters of the galaxy,” Asajj heard the doctor mutter as they turning back towards their desktop console. She fought back a cringe of embarrassment, I have nothing to be ashamed of.

“Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos…” As an empath, this morning Raven would have said that her classmate Mineta Minoru lacked compassion entirely. She didn’t spend any large amount of time focusing on him, but in the handful of incidents she had been present for regarding him it had been entirely absent. He was a vile little cur, ruled utterly by his own lusts. Raven tried not to judge people for their emotions as a rule, but instead to judge their actions. And Mineta’s actions were consistently selfish, and often cruel.

“Well,” young-Kenobi started, clearly uncomfortable but pushing through, “did I at least succeed?” That got a real, if small, smile out of Leia, “Yes. You were able to distract Vader long enough for us to get back to your ship and escape.” “Ah, good,” he said faintly, “And, who’s Vader?” Leia felt the semi-healed injection wound on her arm throb, she felt the needle pushing in, she felt Darth Vader’s mind surrounding hers, she felt him pummeling from all directions, she felt him trying to pry her apart for answers. She felt his hand on her shoulder, holding her still, making her watch while-! She felt Qui-Gon’s hand on her own, and took a deep, gasping breath, “Darth Vader is the Em-” “You don’t have to tell-” “Is the Emperor’s enforcer. He’s been hunting Jedi across the galaxy since before I was born. He murdered-” Leia hiccuped, -Fulcrum- “-Ahsoka and brought her severed head to show off to us at the Senate. He killed Obi-Wan Kenobi, and before that Obi-Wan Kenobi told Luke that Vader had murdered Anakin Skywalker too.”

Iconic Homerotice Betrayals: Round 2
*I actually haven't been in a convention for 10+ years so I don't know if that's still true.
Round 2 Directory
Context:
Anakin/Obi-Wan
Summary by Anonymous Contributor
Imagine this. You are Obi-Wan Kenobi. Your jedi master (basically your teacher & parent), finds this random ass kid on a backwater planet, promises to teach him against the wishes of basically every jedi master with a say in this, gets killed and saddles you with the promise to teach the kid. You are now a 25yo with a 10yo kid. That kid is the chosen one. His name is Anakin Skywalker.
For years you love the kid, raise him and teach him to the best of your ability. You see him knighted, and you fight along with him in a galaxy-wide war. He is the one who has your back. You trust him with your life and the lives of your men. Sometimes he makes crazy plans, but usually it all works out. He gets a student of his own, and you find yourself co-parenting a teenage girl and everything is ok, it looks like you're gonna win the war and be able to have peace again.
Wrong.
Your men turn against you and your people are slaughtered. Leading the assault on your temple and slaughtering the younglings? Anakin. You go to the senator he has been close with since he was a child and find out not only is he married, no. He's also got a kid on the way. So you stow away on her ship to get to where he is, when you get there he almost chokes the senator to death and you fight, because "if you're not with me, then you're against me" he said, and you're not with him on this. He was your brother, and you had to cut off all 3 of his remaining limbs and leave him to burn on the lava planet of mustafar.
You take his wife to a medic space station, she gives birth to not one but TWO kids, and then proceeds to die of a broken heart. To make sure the children are safe, you split them up, giving the girl, Leia, to a trusted friend, another senator, and taking the boy, Luke, to Anakin's step-brother.
For a decade you hide, wasting away, unable to process the genocide of your people, until Leia is abducted and your senator friend contacts you to help. While trying to rescue her, you find out the bastard didn’t even have the decency to die but instead became Darth Vader, a sith lord. You’re still too traumatized, too cut off from your powers, to give him a proper fight. He burns you, and you’re saved. You rescue Leia, but you have to make a sacrifice, knowing he will follow you if you split away from the group of refugees, making sure they and Leia will survive. You fight but its not really a fight, and he traps you to die a slow death under a pile of rocks.
But then you realise that it can’t end like this, you fight, and you win. He says “You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker. I did.” absolving you of your guilt. You could kill him, but you don’t. You walk away. You’re a jedi. You have no interest in killing him, you’ve done it once already.
Years later, Leia is once more in Vader’s hands. You go to rescue her with Luke, whose aunt and uncle have just been killed by the empire. Once more, you sacrifice yourself, fighting Vader as a distraction for the rescue mission. You will not win this. You know it. But when Vader kills you, you become more powerful than he could ever have imagined.
You help guide Luke, and eventually, Vader is defeated, not by Luke, not by Obi-Wan, but by the light still within him, and Anakin Skywalker dies free of darkness. You reunite to watch over the future together as force ghosts. The End.
Sasuke/Naruto
Summarized by anonymous contributor
Two traumatized orphans find kindred souls in each other (even if they're too emotionally stunted to admit it even to themselves). They both grow stronger, but then Sasuke grows jealous of Naruto's progress. He's obsessed with strength, needing to get revenge for his family, and Naruto threatens that. Sasuke decides he's not getting the strength he needs from the village, so he leaves- but Naruto chases him. They face off in a dramatic waterfall battle before the giant statues of historical figures (that also had a friends-to-enemies thing, let's go Symbology), and Sasuke manages to beat him. He swears he wants to kill him, but when he finally has the chance, he just hangs over Naruto's unconscious body... face to face, just staring at him from inches away... before he gives up. He can't kill him, even if he refuses to admit to himself.
Why.
Fast forward several years, Sasuke is 16 and "evil", Naruto is OBSESSED with getting strong enough to bring Sasuke home. They fight - over and over and over again, Naruto trying Desperately to bring Sasuke home, and Sasuke refusing over and over again. Everyone tells Naruto it's a lost cause, but he refuses to give up. And somehow, Sasuke never works up the will to kill Naruto.
Eventually they work past it all and end up joined at the hip (and in gay love, no matter what Kishimoto tries to say).

Comfort zone
AGH ok so here, I'm giving you a bit of freedom but all i ask is Obi-wan x Male or FTM reader!! Fluff it up, maybe readers having a bad day. If you want smuts always appreciated loll, have a good day mann
An - I've never written a mxm fic before so this is new....bare with me. I hope you like it. This is pure fluff
Y/n male insert
It started with the little touches. A finger sliding over yours. His eyes lingering a little too long. For years it had gone on in the same way. Two Jedi bound by duty their order until the day the galaxy changed. Obi-Wan's Padawan became Darth Vader and almost everyone he knew had been killed or gone into hiding.
The tired and broken Jedi handed baby Luke over to Baru Lars and rode into the desert. He wasn't expecting to see anyone. Least of all you. Yet there you were, knelt in the desert, your light sabre laid out on a cloth before you. Obi-Wan knelt across from you. As your eyes met you knew he understood and he dropped both his own and Anakin's sabres either side of your own. You wrapped them in the cloth and together using the force, you bury the blades beneath the sand.
The pair of you travel in silence towards the rock formation as the twin suns slowly set over the Tatooine sand dunes. There is a cave not too far into the rocks that you both agree is good enough. For tonight at least. You roll.out the two bedrolls, close by each other, knowing how cold the desert can get at night, before setting up a portable stove and kettle. Obi-Wan stood in the cave entrance, his eyes cast down to the ground.
"come and sit down." You say in almost a whisper, frightened to break the quiet of the evening. He lets you guide him to sit on the bed you had made on a raised plinth. Shadows cast across the cave making it harder to see, so you fumbled through the bags the two of you had brought with you finding three small lanterns. Lightening them you placed them about you to better see your environment. Glancing back at Obi-Wan; who you had left holding a cup.of warm tea; you finally see how tattered his robes are. Your shoulders deflate and you step toward him, taking the cup from his hands.
"come on, take these off." You pull at the robes. His eyes meet yours and he allows you to manipulate his body, pulling the chard fabric from his shoulders. He shivers against the cold breeze blowing in. Your hands quickly help him to pull on a clean shirt and wrap a blanket around his shoulders. Rubbing his arms to help warm him.
"you didn't have to come here." He spoke so softly you almost didn't hear him.
"I wanted to." You reply, "someone needs to make sure you're taken care of. You can't care for the boy if you're too broken to keep going." You try to smile.
"y/n, I..." his forehead creases as he tries to find the words.
"Obi-Wan, there is nothing to say. I am here for you, I am happy to be here. This isn't our ideal world but at least we can be together." You give his hand a squeeze. Obi-Wan looks into your eyes, in two days his entire world had shifted in ways he could not control, predict or change, yet there was a hint of happiness.
"together." He repeated the words like it was a lifeline in the ocean, "there is no Jedi order, no code." He stated the words as if reminding himself.
"It's not all gone. We are here." You remind him, showing him back to the beds. On the stove a metal pot boiled with water and you emptied a ration pack into it, waiting for.the food to hydrate and form before separating it onto two plates.
"here, eat this." You say handing one plate to Obi-Wan. He looked up to you, watching you.
"y/n, I don't know.if you feel the same way I do, I think you do. I....I am glad you're here with me. I couldn't-" you reach across and hold his hand.
"I love you, Obi-Wan Kenobi. That's all that needs to be said, for now."
He nods, knowing he felt the same as you do. There would be a lot of work to do to rebuild the man in front of you. Perhaps he would never be the same one you met as children but that didn't matter. You were together. You'd let him take any comfort from you in any way he would need it. In the first four months there was little between you. He would sit beside you at night or in the morning, his shoulder against yours. A movement graduating to his head slumping on to your shoulder. When he slept Obi-Wan's hand would find yours, or slip around your waist and pull you closer to him.
Soon enough your scent and warmth became the thing that grounded him.
Then one day, around eighteen months from the day you arrived, most unexpectedly as he left for work; Obi-Wan leaned in planting a gentle kiss to the corner or your mouth.
Love bloomed between you, strong and forever.
Please leave comments and let me know what you think. Thank you for reading.
