For my entire life I’ve loved doggies. From my very first pet Pitusa (a flirtatious Cocker Spaniel in Bogotá, Colombia), to the infamous Farah (an Afghan Hound whom my Dad named after Farah Diva -or was it Fawcett?), or the very fast Zoila the Dautcshund, my political aunt Stael’s pup- and then across the pond and the years to the likes of Dakota, Winston, Fiona and Lady at my current office, or Lola the Rhodesian Ridgeback, I’ve seen and loved many dogs. But as is always the case, there is one specimen -one individual- that takes the cake 🐕✨ . . . Pictured atop a Guatemalan volcano by his loving mama here, it is only Dobbie (his actual name is Doby) that takes the cake. This 3-legged pup is the very definition of relentless gritt, unadulterated joy and sheer beauty. I truly love, think about and enjoy this dog (I only get to see him maybe twice per year). . . .
