last night I watched "Two Weeks Notice" and theres a scene where sandra bullocks character compulsively ate a bunch of food and has to poop super bad and hugh grant's character rushes around to find her a toilet; now I need a Nalu fic where Lucy has to shit while on a mission and Natsu asks her if she can hold it bc he "can see the bad guys and it wont be much longer Lucy i swear" but shes in literal tears bc she can't and "oh my god Natsu my tummy hurts so bad!" so they abandon post so he can track down a bathroom for her.
AND NO! it wouldnt be weird bc Natsu already knows all about her bowel movements! tbh he probably should've seen it coming when Lucy had two slices of cake and a cup of coffee before they left for the stakeout!
#unhinged thought tbh#but look me in the eyes and tell me natsu dragneel wouldnt drop everything just to find lucy a bathroom#he'd throw her over his shoulder and BOOK IT#she'd be so embarrassed#lucy definitely has tummy issues#lucy heartfilia#natsu dragneel#nalu#fairy tail

For the insecurities, I think that Kiri would be his teeth; Bakugou would be his ass and chest (a bit insecure about how big they are maybe? but he tries to hide it with arrogance); Belphie and Mammon how they aren't as big/buff as beel and/or lucy; shigaraki his eye colour; Zen how fast he talks; Leviathan might think that he's really ugly when he's actually super pretty; 707 his body (since he canonically says that he isn't fit). Sorry if it's confusing TT
(It’s not confusing at all! Thank you so much for sending this in!)
Kirishima – I feel like Kirishima’s teeth were a childhood insecurity for him, but something that he grew to love about himself as a teenager. He took it pretty hard when other kids in the playground or at school were scared of his teeth because he wasn’t scary at all! He just wanted to make friends! He also definitely had some bloody accidents with his sharp teeth, mainly on himself (his poor tongue!), which didn’t help the insecurities. But, as he grew into them a little bit, he had to admit they were cool and manly as fuck! He can rip a steak in half with little effort, how cool is that??
Bakugou – I really agree with this one, yes. Bakugou’s butt and chest are kinda huge and even for someone as muscular as him. Maybe if they were pure solid muscle, he wouldn’t feel so insecure, but jesus they both jiggle, genetics beating out his training and it makes Bakugou want to die or blow something up. It takes him a while to get on any tight clothing, and button up shirts can be a disaster if they aren’t big enough. When Bakugou first started having a physical relationship with his partner, he would always move their hands away from his butt and chest because he doesn’t like attention to be on them and also because he was embarrassed by how sensitive they are. I think Bakugou’s partner can do a great deal to lessen these insecurities though, because if his alpha loves those parts of him, maybe he can learn to love them too.
Belphie and Mammon – I’m not sure I think either Belphie or Mammon get insecure about their body types on the regular, but they might have brief moments of insecurity here and there, Mammon moreso. Perhaps Mammon gets turned down for a modelling job because he isn’t buff enough and he gets a bit down about it, wondering if other people also think that about him. I don’t think it’s common though, I mean, Mammon has loads of modelling gigs that are foaming at the mouth to hire him, and just the thought of exercising is enough to get Belphie to love his physical body for what it is.
Shigaraki – Hmm, maybe when he was younger Shigaraki might have been self-conscious of his red eyes, but I don’t think he cares much when he’s an adult. Shigaraki is a ball of insecurities, but I’m not sure red eyes is one of them.
Zen – I’m not sure I get this one, hmm. Zen is very easy to understand because his enunciation has to be perfect on stage, so I don’t think he’s worried about talking too fast. Zen’s biggest insecurity is the fear that who he is on the inside isn’t as pretty or loveable as who he is on the outside. Zen is very loveable, he sees the proof of that every day, but is Hyun as loveable? He’s not sure.
Leviathan – Oh, you are absolutely right about him. He really believes that he’s ugly and that he has an unlovable personality and I just want to shake it out of him because baby no 😣The problem with the sin Envy is that it makes him feel like he’ll never be enough, because he doesn’t have what other people have, he isn’t who other people are, and for him, other people are better. These issues are deeply rooted in him, but his mate could probably make them better over time. In my opinion, envy is one of the most harrowing sin to have as a core personality because you can never love yourself properly.
Seven – I can actually see this one. Seven lives his life sitting down and eating junk food, so he has the cutest soft tummy. Seven never really gave his physique that much thought because he was always by himself, but when he has someone else in his life, intimately in his life at that, he gets a little insecure for the first time. Like, when he bends over, his stomach rolls up in a way someone skinny like Yoosung or muscular like Zen doesn’t experience. It takes a year of constant compliments and kisses to his tummy and maybe around his thighs too, for him to let go of the insecurities. Eventually, it sinks in that his partner loves his soft tummy and Seven is so relieved.

The Unexpected Reward - Chapter 17
Summary: Natsu and Lucy go on a job together, but what they bring home is something neither anticipated. Forced to make a life changing decision, they have to adapt quickly, but that's never easy, especially given the circumstances. As they work together on their toughest adventure yet, they find themselves drawn to one another, in ways they never realised. Rated Mature.
"Hey, Flame head! Wait up!" Gray called over, catching the fire mage as he hurriedly made for the guild's exit. "Where're you going in such hurry?"
Turning to catch the ice mage walking straight for him, Natsu stopped to answer, "Home. I left Lucy and Haru asleep this morning, so I better get back to 'em."
"Oh... You've not been at the guild much lately, is everything cool with you?" The ice mage pushed further.
"Uh… Yeah! Been kinda busy and stuff, ya know." The slayer shrugged, not seeming too interested in divulging any further information.
"Well, are ya too busy to come on a mission? It's been some time since our last job together as a team." Gray asked, scratching the back of his head.
"It has been a while, now you mention it… I'd have to ask Lucy if she's feeling up to it yet, she's still not feeling too good… Anyway, catch ya later!" Natsu spoke cheerily and turned back towards the door, his hand reaching for the handle.
"Lucy's been sick for an awfully long time now, Natsu." He heard another voice say, halting him in his tracks, "Are you sure there's not something else going on?" Lisanna came up and elbowed him playfully in the arm.
"Hm?" He replied, retracting his arm back to his side.
"That's right! Lucy hasn't shown her face in months now. Has something happened? Are you guys having relationship issues?!" Levy gasped at the thought, her eyes wide with her mouth hung low.
"Relationship issues?" Natsu cocked his eyebrow in disdain; what kind of nonsense was that?
"I think you're getting a little carried away there, Shrimp. You've been reading too many books again." Gajeel teased, poking Levy's pouted cheek as he came up from behind. "And Lucy hasn't been gone that long… has she?"
"How suspicious… His beloved is sick and yet he's not with her!" Juvia murmured, appearing creepily behind Gray, making him shudder. "What is he hiding?"
"I'm not hiding anything! You guys are looking way too much into this." Natsu lied, but for good reason.
The truth was a little more complicated than that. With Lucy being so unwell, she'd not been able to leave the confines of their house, having suffered greatly in the first months of her pregnancy. It'd been hard for the both of them, but Natsu had promised to look after her—to not leave her side, and he'd kept to his word. Having skipped out on job after job, and taking longer and longer breaks between each visit to the guild, it was only natural for their friends to worry and speculate, but it did put him right in the firing line.
He was wasting time. He had to get back to his partner and son, it wasn't fair to keep them waiting. The guild would get their long awaited answers when Lucy returned, which with any luck, would be very soon.
"Can I go now? I got things to take care of." Natsu huffed, starting to get frustrated with their incessant intrusiveness.
Trying to slip out from under the guilds snooping nose, the fire mage was beginning to question whether that was even an option any more, not with the amount of people now crowding him, wanting in on the action. He just hoped the great Titania didn't decide to intervene, then he'd be doomed.
"What things would that be then, Natsu? You're not usually this secretive." Lisanna hinted again, even more curious than before. "I thought you said you had to go home?"
"Just leave the kid alone, he's got his reasons." Laxus shrugged nonchalantly, pretending not to be interested, when really he'd heard everything.
"Yes, listen to Laxus!" Freed jumped in, also creepily appearing out of no where, making the lightning mage quiver. "Natsu doesn't need you all pestering him!"
Said boy sighed, glad to have someone on side and took the opportunity to make his leave—But things were never going to be that easy. The slayer found himself almost smacking his head against the thick, wooden door frame, utterly exasperated, when yet another of his guild mates decided to pipe up and add their two pennies worth.
"Yes, you're right. However, doesn't he usually have the kid with him? Why not today? So many questions that have yet to be answered. It makes you wonder really…" Evergreen chortled to the dubious guild members, hiding her conniving smirk behind her fan.
This was getting out of hand! They were just going 'round and around in circles and at this rate he would never leave. Being backed into a corner, he had no idea what was really going on. His guild mates were chucking all sorts of nonsensical bullshit at him.
Who knew what they were accusing him of? Because he sure as hell didn't know, and was pretty convinced now that they didn't either.
"I've already said Haru's at home with Lucy… The only reason I'm here, is to check in with Mira to make sure everything's ready for his party later. You know, for his birthday today." He explained once again, sighing loudly and slumping forward in despair. "I wasn't gonna bring him in early and spoil the surprise, now was I?"
He wouldn't have bothered with any of it, if it hadn't been for the take over mage and her desire to throw some massive party for the little boy, such was the way of Fairy Tail. But this time, Natsu would've much preferred to celebrate at home where Lucy could be present to enjoy it, too. However, Mira had made her own plans, having suddenly sprung the idea upon the unknowing young man one day in passing, and had given him little choice in the matter—his ultimatum much scarier than Erza could ever be.
"We're well aware of the little one's birthday celebrations today, Natsu." Erza's stern voice echoed through the hall, startling everyone into silence and swiftly marched herself right up to the slayer's retreating body. His heart raced as his worst fear became reality and felt a wave of dread as she approached at speed, her hardened features coming in way too close for his comfort. "However, that doesn't mean I'm any less suspicious of you."
"But why?! There's nothing to be suspicious about, I swear!" Holding his hands up in submission, the fire mage was stunned into silence; his mouth dropping open in disbelief; why were they all so hell bent on this? What even was this? He'd told them what he could; what more did they want? "Lucy and Haru are at home where I left them… What else do you want me to tell you?"
"So secretive and elusive… like you have something to hide. Have you no shame?" Ignoring Natsu's plea, the armoured girl had already come to her own conclusions and summoned one of her treasured swords to point directly at the slayer, her icy glare not the only thing threatening to pierce through him, "Our Natsu would never act like this! He's impulsive and reckless and just downright stupid! What have you done with the real one?"
The fire mage would've taken offence, had the red head not so angrily directed her sharp sword at the bridge of his nose. Narrowing his eyes at the sharp metal so close to him, he gulped thickly, praying to whatever god there was, that today of all days, Lucy might just walk through those big doors, saving him from the hell that was Erza Scarlet.
He shook in his sandals, showered in sweat as the red heads sword tip made contact with his skin, pushing his head right up against the wall, "B-But I am the real Natsu…"
"Then prove it! Explain yourself, now!" She was taking no shit from her fiery companion, not after convincing herself that he was, indeed, an imposter.
Desperate not to be on the receiving end of Erza's wrath, Natsu opened his mouth to speak, but just as quickly shut it again when the old guild doors suddenly creaked open. The sound of an infants voice followed by bickering between two others could be heard filling the loud silence, abruptly halting the interrogation of the defeated fire breather.
"See, Happy! I told you he'd be in here!" The young woman pointed, her eyes landing right on the dragon boy she'd been arguing with flying cat about, only realising moments later the presence of Erza's sword and every eyeball in the building staring unashamedly at her, "Uh… Am I interrupting something?"
"Lucy... you're here..." Natsu croaked in relief, never more glad to see his beautiful girlfriend as he sank to the floor. His voice cracking from the genuine fear the older girl had provoked in him, her sword now fully removed from his face. "My sweet saviour…"
"Uh-oh! Is Natsu in trouble again?" Happy giggled, glancing over at his pink haired friend, taking pity on his horror-stricken features.
"Lucy… You're alive?" Erza stated more than asked, stomping over to the young blonde to inspect her further.
"U-Uh…" The girl in question looked down at herself, confirming that she was definitely alive before looking back up again, confusion etched into her expression. "D-Do you want me to answer that?"
"Maybe you should lay off her a little; I'm sure Lucy's had it rough enough." Gray proclaimed bravely, unable to make eye contact with the unsettled knight.
"Please don't scare her off, not when she's only just returned!" Levy all but pushed Erza out of the way and threw herself at the blonde, who was now trying to balance the new weight along with the baby and herself. "I'm so happy to see you! I've missed you, Lu!"
"I've missed you too, Levy, but I'm sure Natsu's kept you updated." Lucy reassured her, then looked up to all of her other friends, "Hasn't he?"
"Natsu told us you hadn't been feeling well, but that's a suspiciously long illness Lucy, one I hope has a good explanation for making us all worry so much." Erza explained, crossing her arms over her chest.
"That's one long tummy bug!" Mira giggled, walking over to the ever growing group to stand near Lucy. "Anyone would think that you were p-" She paused, eyes growing wide with realisation and darted them down to the stellar mages midriff, before promptly fainting on the spot.
"Huh? Mira! Would think, what?! What were you going to say?!" Lisanna yelled, desperately trying to wake her sister up.
"Oh! I get it!" Gray understood, thinking back to the weird conversation he'd had with Natsu in the park and how it all made perfect sense now. "It definitely explains that idiots weird behaviour." He reached out to pat Lucy on the shoulder affectionately and smiled at her, then turned to smirk at said fire mage still recoiling on the ground. "So that's the way you wanna play? Game on, Pyro!"
Turning his head, Natsu smirked back, accepting the silent challenge as he jumped back up to his feet, looking cocky as ever, "You know it, Frosty!"
"Wait, what does Gray know? Is he a part of it too?" Levy gasped, pointing her accusatory finger at the demon slayer.
"Hell no!" Natsu and Gray yelled out in defence, both offended and totally disgusted by the very thought.
"Then what? What is going on here?" Cana shouted from her bench, having heard everything. "Quit with the suspense and just be out with it already!"
"Juvia understands." Out of the shadows, said water mage appeared before her once 'love rival' and smiled happily at the girl she was about to congratulate, "Juvia is so very happy for you both!" She looked down to her own rounded tummy and placed a hand on it, a noticeable difference in size to Lucy's, "They will be the best of friends, Juvia is sure of it."
Lucy's smile reached the corners of her eyes, relieved the rain woman didn't see this as another rivalry, like their partners apparently did, "Thanks Juvia, I'm sure they will be, despite what their father's might think." They both giggled at the expense of the boys gormlessly standing there, along with the rest of the guild, who still had no idea.
"Hold up! So, what does that mean? You're having a baby too, Lucy?" Lisanna asked, cradling her sisters limp body.
The guild's eyes fell to Lucy, more specifically her stomach where if they looked closely, they would see a small, but noticeable bump stretching out her pink summer dress. She could see the expectant faces of her friends waiting for her to answer, and the warm presence of her beloved dragon slayer come to stand next to her, obviously noticing her hesitancy.
"Natsu, I think you should tell them, I know you're dying to." She murmured, her voice quiet but firm.
"Are ya sure, Luce?" He asked, assuming she'd want to do it after all this time, but seeing the certainty in her eyes and the bright smile lifting her cheeks, he took her hand and turned back to the crowd, not needing any more confirmation than that. He glanced at each person in turn, a sense of pride filling his chest as the words left his mouth, "Heck yeah, we are!"
The entire guild erupted in a chorus of whistles and loud cheers, shaking the very foundations of the building in their excitement for the couple, "Oh, wow! Thanks guys! You're too kind!" Lucy's smile shone brighter than it had done in ages, overwhelmed with glee that their guild mates were so pleased for them.
"They've all been worried about ya, Luce." Natsu whispered closely so only she could hear and leaned in to kiss her cheek, knowing just how much this all meant to her. He took the excitable little guy off her hands, giving her the freedom to catch up with everybody.
"I knew it! I knew there was something fishy about you two! But congratulations guys, that's great news!" Levy cheered, ready to get down to the nitty gritty of every dirty detail.
"You had us worried there, Lucy. For a while, I thought you were never coming back!" Lisanna shared, hugging the celestial mage tightly, probably a little too tight.
"Oh… I'm sorry to have made you all worry, but I'm feeling much better now." The blonde explained, a light tint of pink dusting her cheeks from all the attention she was getting.
She could see Natsu hadn't moved too far away from her and tilted her head to look at him. Chuckling to herself, she could hear Erza try to apologise to him, suggesting the boy punch her right in the face for making such a mistake, a suggestion that was right up his alley, if it weren't for Haru in his arms.
Catching his beautiful blonde staring at him through the corner of his eye, he turned in her direction and winked, grinning as he held the little boy up on his shoulders to walk back over to her, "You feeling alright, Luce?" He asked, worried she may have forced herself into attending the celebrations before she was ready.
She nodded shyly, a little taken aback by the overwhelming attention she was receiving. Feeling his hand once again take hold of hers, she stared up into his confident eyes, then up to the child having the time of his life on his fathers shoulders, "I'm okay, but today's about Haru, not me, and I wasn't gonna miss this for the world." She grinned up at the small boy and reached up to stroke his cheek affectionately, chuckling at his enormous smile.
"You're right! Come on, Lucy! I wanna show you what we've done!" Natsu all but dragged the poor girl outside, Haru and Happy in tow, to show her the sheer amount of effort that had gone in to making Haru's first birthday, special.
The entire guilds courtyard had been lit up like a Christmas tree, with nothing left untouched. Banners and bunting of every colour hung from every post, table and tree. Tables upon tables of delicious food had been laid out with the most gargantuan home made birthday cake (courtesy of Mira) proudly sat in the middle of it all. An enormous pile of gifts had also been laid out, all individually wrapped with little cards to say whom they were from and most importantly, the pool had been filled with all kinds of fun inflatables and toys for all the children to play with.
Lucy looked around in amazement. She couldn't believe they'd gone to so much effort just for a one year old, a child that would unfortunately never remember this, but it didn't matter, she and Natsu would for him. "This is incredible, Natsu! I can't believe you did all this without me!"
"Don't sound too surprised; I can help organise things when I want to. And it wasn't all me, Mira came up with the idea." He looked up to the child above him and chuckled, "You like it, Haru?" The child had no idea what was going on, with no concept of birthdays or parties, he simply cheered anyway, responding to his Daddy's infectious grin, "Good! Well then Luce, let's get this party started!"
With his grin turning evil, he squeezed her hand tight and dived head first into the pool, with no consideration for his, Lucy's or Haru's clothing. She yelped at the top of her voice, her only reply a cackle before being submerged under water, thus setting the mood for the rest of the day.
After a full afternoon of playing with the other children, eating lots of cake and other treats, and opening presents, Haru found himself in the pool once again, this time in more appropriate attire for the water. A pair of cute little lion themed trunks (gifted by Loke), and a cute turtle inflatable ring adorning his middle (a present from Lisanna), made it much easier for him to stay above the surface while enjoying a swim in the water.
Natsu, in his usual flamed swim shorts, also found himself in the pool, diving under and popping back up in random places to surprise the little boy. Haru loved a good game of peek-a-boo, the anticipation of where his Daddy was going to pop up next was just too exhilarating. He squealed and laughed every time he resurfaced, then his eyes would grow wide in anticipation when he dived back down again.
"Gotcha!" Natsu exclaimed, appearing behind the little guy and grabbing his sides. "Does Haru want a go?" He asked, lifting him out of the rubber ring and holding him above the surface with just his hands, letting the infant tread the water to keep himself up, "Look at you! You'll be swimming in no time!"
Lucy watched on from her sun lounger, not remotely amused that the slayer had got her cute dress soaked, or that she now had to lay in just her pastel blue bikini, feeling somewhat self conscious with everyone staring at her exposed belly. She laid comfortably basking in the hot sunlight kissing her skin, trying to catch some semblance of a tan, relaxing while she could. She felt happy, content even, thankful that her symptoms had calmed down just in time for Haru's big day.
It'd been a long time since she'd been able to do this without having to run to the bathroom. With no spell or potion being strong enough to truly rid her of the awful feeling, she'd become well acquainted with the toilet in their house, having spent most of her time with her nose down it. It'd been hard over the last few months adapting to her changing body, her wild mood swings and questionable cravings, but she also knew it would be worth it in the end and it was on days like this, with her friends and loved ones surrounding her that she sincerely felt it.
Smiling to herself, Lucy placed her hand on her small, protruding stomach, feeling the tiny flutterings of the little one moving around inside, "You're an active little one today." She giggled, looking to be talking to herself by onlookers, but she didn't mind. "Then again, you're active everyday."
"Juvia's baby is quite active too, but he's closer to his due date than yours and is much bigger." Juvia said, coming to sit on the next lounger. She cradled her own, much larger bump that'd been covered by a flowy, light green summer dress, finding her regular clothes to form fitting and hot to wear now. "It's quite the feeling when he does somersaults in Juvia's belly."
"He? You're having a boy?" Lucy asked, intrigued to learn more and catch up with her friend.
"Yes, Porlyusica told us the last time we visited. Juvia always imagined she'd have a little boy, maybe watching Haru has something to do with that." She gleamed, looking over to the small fella splashing about in the pool still, having the time of his life with his father.
"I'm so pleased for you! I bet Gray was thrilled!" The blonde exclaimed, knowing he would be.
"Of course! Gray was very pleased. In fact, he made us go out and buy all the boys clothes we could find in the market afterwards. Then he took Juvia home and made-"
"No, it's okay… I don't think I need to know any more!" Lucy felt her cheeks burn red at the very thought.
"Made Juvia dinner…" The water mage finished, furrowing her brows at Lucy's assumption.
"O-Oh… Oops! Sorry Juvia, I thought you were going to say that you guys-"
"Made love? I think those hormones are getting the better of you, Lucy." Cana appeared, wagging her imaginary tail at the slightest mention of sex. "They say you get more horny when you're pregnant. I bet you and Natsu are at it all of the time? Actually, I'm kinda surprised he's not over here right now, with you looking all juicy like that!"
"Cana!" Lucy spluttered, her cheeks burning even more furiously. "You can't say things like that in public!" She didn't want to discuss her sex life in front of others, even if what they were saying was true—when she wasn't heaving of course.
"She's right though, Lucy. Juvia hasn't been unable to keep her hands off of Gray." The blue haired girl reaffirmed, her eyes like love hearts as she thought of her beloved Gray. "And Gray hasn't been able to keep his hands off Juvia, either."
"Wow, looking kinda smug there… You were like that any way…" Cana murmured, shaking her head at the love struck girl.
Well, there went Lucy's relaxing in silence, now she could barely keep from her head exploding—Good ol' Cana! "I don't wanna hear any more!" The celestial mage reiterated, covering her ears for emphasis.
"Oh, come on, Lucy! You're pregnant! That didn't happen by accident! You and Natsu knew exactly what you were doing." Cana retorted, moving herself closer to the flustered girl, her boozy breath permeating the air.
"U-Uh… Well No, actually. It was kind of an accident…" Lucy admitted, feeling a little awkward by saying that out loud, her friends surprised faces not helping matters, "But it was a good accident!"
"Huh… And here I was thinking you were the cautious type, Lucy… Not that it matters. It's good to let the mood just take ya." Cana grinned, her shock forgotten.
"Don't look so ashamed Lucy, you'll both have another sweet baby to call your own and that's a wonderful thing. I imagine Natsu was over the moon when you both found out." Mira beamed her usual motherly smile as she came to sit near them all, having wanted to get the details on Lucy's pregnancy since earlier, "If Juvia's is a boy, then I bet yours is going to be a girl, Lucy."
"You think so?" The blonde asked back, never having actually considered what the sex would be before, but the thought of having a little girl join the family sounded rather appealing, especially in a house dominated by boys.
"Yes, with Haru as well, we need a little girl to make it more even. And she's gonna have the cutest pink hair and big brown eyes, I can just see it now!" Mira was off in a little world of her own, thinking of blue haired baby boys and pink haired baby girls—she was incorrigible.
"Boy or girl, I just hope that after living in a house full of ravenous beasts, this little one might be more like me. Haru's just a dark haired Natsu, he even laughs like him." Lucy placed her hand where she could feel the little movements of her baby and chuckled down, "But who am I kidding? You've already got your father's energy, that's for sure."
"Hey! Don't say that like it's a bad thing, Luce!" Natsu overheard as he appeared out of no where. "There's nothing wrong with having a mini-me, ain't that right, kid?" He hi-fived the now dry child in his arms, having already dried himself using his magic. "Who cares what they are or who they look like? You'll be in there somewhere, Luce; you're their mother, after all."
"Yeah, you're right." She said, always fascinated by Natsu's simplistic, yet logical way of thinking.
"Any way, it's getting kinda late, I was gonna take Haru somewhere a bit more quiet," Natsu gestured to the current brawl taking place behind him.
"Leaving so soon?" Mira asked, standing to say goodbye to the grizzly birthday boy.
"Yeah, he's all pooped out from the busy day he's had and I think he's ready to go to sleep now. Thanks for organising it, Mira!" He said, before turning swiftly to Lucy, "You coming?"
The bikini clad girl jumped to her feet and stretched her arms up, feeling the tiredness begin to set in, completely unaware of her partners roaming gaze, "Yeah, sure... Just let me put my dress-"
"Lucy! Watch out!" She heard Natsu shout suddenly as she bent to grab the item of clothing.
Feeling herself being pushed back onto the sun lounger, she flailed and reached her arms out to catch herself. Darting her eyes up to see what was going on, she was met with the exposed back of the dragon slayer that had moved to shield her from something. Smoke clouded him and the infant; an unfamiliar heat emanated off of his body. The girl hadn't seen what'd happened, or what she'd been saved from, but if the harsh, heavy breathing of the man in front of her was anything to go by, it was a close call.
"Natsu…" She started, but stalled there after, unsure of what more to say to him.
"What the heck do you think you're doing, you old geezer! Do you have any idea what could've happened just then?!" Natsu bellowed, his voice teeming with rage as his eyes narrowed at the culprit. "You're lucky I was here to catch your stupid attack, or that would've gone straight for Lucy!"
The brawl had come to a complete stand still and Macao, the one that'd thrown a fire ball initially at Wakaba, had gone ghostly pale as the dragon slayer's piercing gaze stared him down. "Hey man, I'm sorry… I didn't even know she was there, it was an accident!" He held his hands up in submission, not wanting to enter into a fight with the maddened slayer, knowing that was one he'd never win. "We got a little carried away, that's all."
"Oh yeah? Maybe I should go all out and see how you like it? Try and dodge this one!" Natsu roared, sending a blazing ball of fury of his own hurtling through the air, aiming it right at Macao's cowering body. Turning hotfooted back to Lucy, the distant cries of the offender being struck by his magic was like music to his ears, his anger satiated.
"Are you hurt, Luce? Did anything hit you?" He did a full search of her body, checking for any kind of injury. His worried eyes eventually fell upon her exposed belly and instinctually brought his hand out to caress it softly, "Is the baby okay?"
Smiling up at him, she brought her own hand to rest on his cheek and pulled him closer, loving just how protective he could be, "Of course, our baby's fine. No need to worry." She guided his palm to where the little one was doing somersaults and allowed him to feel the light pads against his skin.
Unable to keep his infectious grin down for long, he pushed his mouth hastily against Lucy's in a kiss that turned heated all too quickly. Buzzing with adrenaline from the incident, Natsu moved his hand from her belly and tangled his fingers into her hair, holding her in place as he enjoyed the taste of her warm lips.
"That's it, fire breath, you took it too far this time!" He heard Gray shout from behind him, knocking him out of his 'Lucy' trance and pull away, glancing over his shoulder, "Look at what you've done to the pool, you dumbass!" The ice mage pointed to the steaming pit that was once the guilds pool, fuming at the state of it.
"Ha! Looks like you and Juvia are gonna have a fun time filling that back up!" Natsu guffawed, passing the fidgety Haru to Lucy.
"Screw you, Pinky! You're going down!" Gray threatened, launching himself at the fire wizard and starting yet another brawl.
Rolling her eyes, Lucy looked down at the sleepy boy rubbing his tired eyes, and decided to creep away from the fight that just seemed to be attracting more and more people, "Come on then, sweetheart. It looks like Daddy's got himself distracted again." She chuckled, disappearing back inside before anyone had noticed she was gone.
By the time the evening swept in, Lucy had found herself a quiet spot up on a small hill a little ways from the guild, overlooking the lake behind it. She sat cosily against one of the many old oak trees, with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders and the baby laid across her chest, begrudgingly, but slowly falling asleep. She hummed her sweet lullaby to soothe her tuckered out child, hoping to coax him into closing his eyes.
It was moments like this that she cherished the most with Haru, just her and him with no one to interrupt. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, exactly what she was looking for compared to the ruckus that was the guild's 'after' party that continued on down the street. She could even hear the rumble of their antics from where she sat, but luckily, it was pretty muffled, unable to spoil her quietude.
After weeks of staying at home, it sure made a pleasant change to be watching the sunset instead. She'd grown tired and achy after such a busy day, her feet were sore and her head had grown weary, but still she watched contented as the beautiful evening began to fade.
The young mother could finally hear the soft, even breaths of the slumbering child and gently placed him upon her bent up legs, covering him with her blanket to keep him from feeling the chill in the air. Staring at his little angelic features, she found it hard to fathom how drastically her life had changed compared to just twelve months before. She'd grown so much as a person and gained everything she'd ever wanted and more, making new memories along the way.
She and Natsu had unknowingly plunged themselves into a completely new world, taking on the responsibility of an abandoned child and calling him their own. Haru had opened their eyes to a life they never thought they'd get to experience, especially not with each other. The little boy had brought them together in a way that would forever bind them, creating the family unit they were today. It only seemed fitting to name this day as Haru's official birthday, for it was the day his life, and theirs, had begun anew.
Leaning her head back against the tree, becoming lost in her memories, her eyelids began to close, a wave of exhaustion rushing over her while sleep tempted her in. A rustle of a nearby bush was quick to quash that feeling though, as a startled Lucy snapped her eyes wide open and darted her head over to where the sound had come from.
"Oh, Natsu… It's just you…" She breathed, laying her bleary eyes onto that familiar toothy grin and untameable pink hair, a scaly, white scarf to match. "Tell me, what were you doing hiding in the bushes?"
"Looking for you." He said simply, walking out onto the hillside to join her, having deliberately left out the part that he'd been hiding there for much longer than he'd care to admit. In fact, one might say he'd been there the entire time, watching the beauty that was Lucy quietly sing their son to sleep and hadn't wanted to disturb her until she'd finished. "You left, so I had to come find ya."
"Oh, you didn't have to. I just wanted to settle Haru before he started getting grumpy. It's nice and quiet out here." Her voice sounded airy and light, her eyes half lidded and a little bloodshot. "You can go back and join the others if you want, I'm okay." She offered, but Natsu knew better than that, he always did.
"You don't have to pretend for me, Lucy. I can see how tired you are." He'd learnt pretty quickly in the past few months that pregnancy didn't just make her exceptionally sick, but that it had an array of different symptoms, some physical and others emotional, but all unpleasant and incredibly draining for her. "Why would I leave any way, you're all out here?"
"Happy's not."
"Yeah, and Happy's capable of looking after himself. He's too interested in Carla to notice we're even gone. You know what he's like." Natsu explained, scooting closer to Lucy to take the infant from her legs.
He set the baby down in his lap to keep him warm, the fluffy blanket tightly swaddling his body. The two mages cuddled up to one another, watching the twinkling stars come out to glimmer and shine down onto the glistening water in the distance.
"It's crazy to think it's been an entire year since we brought him home. Who knows where we'd be without him here?" Lucy reminisced, her gaze drifting from the moonlit lake, to the baby snoring peacefully without a single care in the world. "Or where his life might've gone, if we hadn't taken him in."
"We'd be what we always were," Natsu stated bluntly, tearing his own gaze away to look at the girl beside him, "Best friends, going on adventures and honestly, that's kinda the sad truth of it all. As for Haru…" He glanced down at his cuddled up son, smiling sadly as he remembered the first time he ever set eyes on the tiny, lifeless baby, that fateful day, "I made a promise to keep him safe; to make sure he lived… He was always going to come with me, there was never another choice. I just didn't know it then."
"And I'll be forever grateful that he did, because..." Lucy cleared her throat, feeling a little emotional at the thought, "Now, I have you and him! And nothing has ever made me happier! Choosing to adopt a child was the most daunting thing I've ever done, but it's proven to be the best decision I've ever made, one I'll always be thankful for." She gave her own toothy smile, a slight tint of pink dusting her cheeks as she poured her heart out to him.
Natsu felt his heart squeeze tight, her words reminiscent of his own feelings and quirked his lips up at her. Reaching his hand forward, he smoothed his fingers through her golden locks, before coming to rest it under her ear, guiding her to him, "Me too, Luce. Which is why…"
Lucy's breathing deepened the closer she got and felt his other hand come up to hold hers tenderly, paying no mind to him fiddling with her fingers, "Which is why, what? Is there something else?" She asked, cocking her head cutely as their breaths began to mingle. "Natsu?" Her eyes fluttered between his dark ones, waiting expectantly for him to finish.
"I… I wanna ask you something." He murmured just before claiming her mouth, connecting their lips in a kiss so sickly sweet, it made Lucy's belly fill with butterflies.
She could have melted into a puddle right then and there, the feel of his affections always had a way of making her turn to goo in his hands. Her spine shivered and the adrenaline buzzed through her system, not having the capacity to comprehend the words that'd been spoken, for her mind had been taken over by the feel of his hot mouth. Letting go of her hand, he snaked his fingers up to the other side of her neck and pulled her closer, craving those sweet cherry lips that he liked to nip at with his teeth.
Her fingers were now free to roam and touch as they pleased, tangling them up through his hair and tugging on the pink strands at the base of his neck. Desperate for breath, she pulled herself away and gazed into his half lidded eyes for mere seconds, before he impatiently delve down to ravish her neck. The sucking and biting just under her ear caused small gasps and whimpers to escape the increasingly aroused celestial mage, her eyes fogging with lust, until something bright caught her attention.
"What was that?" She asked panting, her voice raspy as she tried to catch sight of whatever it was again. It had flickered like a light, shined like a reflection and sparkled all at once, making her wonder if she'd really seen anything at all.
"What was what, Lucy?" He asked her, not meaning to sound quite so unsurprised, when usually he was the first to go looking for trouble.
"I thought I saw…" She didn't really know what she'd seen, her mind too muddled from the heated moment they were having; maybe it was just her eyes playing tricks? Or worse… someone was spying on them.
Natsu clasped at the hand she had buried in his hair and brought it into view, "Was it this, maybe?" He asked, drawing attention to one specific digit.
Feeling the contrast between his warm skin and the cold hardness of something else against her finger, Lucy peered down in curiosity, her breath stalling when her eyes laid upon the object of confusion. Gasping loudly, she clasped at her mouth, two enlarged chocolate orbs flickered between him and her hand in utter astonishment. Somehow, in the midst of their make out session, Natsu had managed to band the most simplistic, yet beautiful ring onto her finger, where it sat proudly and spoke of untold intentions.
"It's… I-It's beautiful! B-But how did you- When-" She stuttered, too lost in what this all might mean, searching deep within his dark eyes for the answers to her silent, but obvious questions.
"That's the right finger, isn't it?" He asked, looking uncharacteristically nervous, a small pink hue dabbing his cheeks. His heart was beating much quicker than he would've liked, hoping he hadn't screwed up already.
That was all she needed to hear to confirm her suspicions, her brown eyes wet with unshed tears, "N-Natsu, I… I don't know what to say-" She couldn't speak, this was too much and he'd not said anything yet.
"Lucy…" He spoke with every sincerity, taking the ringed hand and entwined their fingers. "I'm not so good with this stuff, but I know that getting married is important to you, which makes it important to me, too. I promised you forever and I guess you could say, this is me making good on that promise." He caressed her soft cheek with his thumb and smiled when he saw the glint in her eyes shine back at him. "So, what do you say? Prepared to commit yourself to this," he gestured to himself and winked playfully, "For the rest of your life?"
Finding herself unable to keep her emotions in check, the girl didn't answer, but instead, launched herself at him, giving him barely any time to move the slumbering child out of the way and brace for impact. Landing on top of the winded dragon slayer, she managed to catch herself with her hands and gleamed down at him, tears falling from her eyes and the smile on her face rivalling his. She leant down and connected their lips once again, taking the lead this time, unable to keep her happiness from pouring out.
To the side, still held in Natsu's opened out arm, was Haru, completely unaware of what was going down, his dreams taking him to far off places. His developing sibling in his Mommy's tummy, however, didn't seem quite so pleased, having been wedged between the two loved up adults as they made out under the sea of stars, had decided to take matters into their own hands. With one almighty kick, the kiss came to a quick halt when Lucy groaned and pulled back, grabbing hold of her bump to sooth the sore area.
"Jeez! Was that the baby kicking you? 'Cause even I felt that one!" Natsu looked surprised, amazed that their baby was so strong, at just five months, that he'd been able to feel the force of the kick against his own abdomen. "Is it still hurting, Luce? Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, it just shocked me, that's all. They've never been quite that strong before." She chuckled, sitting herself up and straddling his hips as she looked down to her belly, gently caressing it with her thumb, "You were just trying to tell Mommy to move, weren't you?"
Balancing himself up onto his elbow, Natsu also placed his hand on top of Lucy's bump and smirked, "Or maybe, they were just tryin' to get their Mommy to say yes."
"Like you needed an answer!" Quirking her eyebrow up at his smirk, she shifted back a little as he sat himself up against the tree, laying Haru gently next to them while Lucy remained in place, "But you haven't actually asked me anything yet. Who knows what I could be agreeing to? This is you, after all."
The young man chuckled and grinned his thousand watt smile, knowing she'd catch him out eventually, "Alright, have it your way." The mischievous look on his face didn't disappear, even when he tried to take it seriously, "Will you marry me, Lucy?"
She returned his beaming smile with one of her own, glad to have heard it come from his mouth and nodded her head enthusiastically, "Of course, Natsu, the answer was always a yes."
"Good. Can I go back to kissing you now?" He asked, but didn't bother waiting for a reply and went to pull that enticing mouth back in for a third kiss, hoping this time there'd be no more interruptions in the forms of sparkling rings or unimpressed unborn babies.
But just as their lips were about to touch, Lucy paused ever so tantalisingly close to him and furrowed her brows, causing the boy to sigh impatiently, "What is it now?"
"Have you been holding on to that ring all day?" She enquired, only realising now that he must've got it from somewhere.
"Nah, not all day, just the party. I had to ask Happy to go and get it for me while you were distracted with Haru." Natsu explained, scratching the back of his head, "I was gonna do it myself, but stuff happened and then you suddenly showed up."
"Stuff… happened?" Now she was even more curious; what could've gone on in her absence?
"Yeah… them." He shivered still traumatised, pointing over to where Fairy Tail's guild hall stood, still alive and partying, and Lucy understood immediately just what he was referring to, giving her an insight into what she'd unsuspectingly walked in on earlier that day. "So, I had to change up my plans."
"Oh! Why didn't you just do it tomorrow instead? Rather than make it difficult for yourself." She asked, feeling a little smug when she saw the light go on in his brain.
She'd stumped him there. Always the brains of the operation, he couldn't believe he hadn't thought of that. He'd wanted to do it on a day that meant something to the both of them, but really, did it matter? The result would've been the same.
Noticing her cocky smirk and the playfulness in her eyes, he rose to the challenge, a fire in his belly, "Because, Miss Know-it-all, today was special, just like you said… And it wasn't difficult… I had it all under control…"
"Uh-huh…" She watched him become a little fidgety as if he weren't quite telling the truth and her smirk widened into a smug, toothy grin, "So you were just pretending to be scared when Erza was threatening you? I get it."
His eyes were sharp and intense, just like they were in battle, the one sided grin to boot as he bore into her playful expression, "Your playing with fire, Lucy…" His voice dangerous and brimming with cockiness.
"Then let it burn." She whispered close to his ear, barely able to get the words out before she found herself being forced onto her back, her hands held down above her head, with a fired up dragon slayer carefully leant over her form.
"You asked for it!" He growled, gulping down a large breath as he connected his mouth to the sensitive skin of her neck, torturing her senses with his loving but fierce embrace.

LIKE FATHER; LIKE SON
One fine morning Gray Fullbuster, Fairytail's ice-devil slayer was getting ready to leave on a S-class mission which would last around a week.
This was his first long mission since his son's birth. Yes!! Gray got married to his lover Juvia Lockser, who now proudly carries the Fullbuster surname behind her name.
It was a dream come true moment in her life, when Gray proposed to her on her special day.
But what turned the sweet memory into delightful one was when Juvia disclosed to her lover that she was carrying their baby and was 8 weeks along.
Gray was over the moon after hearing this happy news and as planned, they got married 2 weeks after.
They celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary along with their baby boy who was around 4 months old at that time .
" Gray-sama!!! What are you waiting for? Get ready soon. You have a train to catch."
Juvia was urging him to get ready soon.
" Yeah, Juvia I know. Do you really want me to go? Are you sure? You can manage him alone."
Gray asked out of concern as he didn't want to stay very far away from his family.
"Gray-sama!!! Juvia is Storm's mother. She will take care of him. Don't worry about that.
Besides, you need some alone time to clear your mind and to grab some rest.
Ever since you found out, Juvia was pregnant, you didn't leave her side. You were very protective and took good care of her at the expense of your health.
Now it has become even harder for you after Storm's birth.
So don't worry, enjoy your mission, after all, this will help you recover from the stress."
Juvia assured and convinced him that she would take care of their child.
Storm Fullbuster, now, 6 months old, shares a striking resemblance to his father except for his pale skin, blue eyes and navy blue wavy hair which he inherited from his mother.
When Gray held his son for the first time, he knew he was a goner.
Gray never felt this kind of love and affection for anyone even including his wife at the first meet itself.
Gray's heart melted when he saw his son open up his blue orbs which reminded him of his wife's eyes.
He was grateful to the genetics as Juvia's eyes were a perfect example of beautiful and mesmerizing pair which was hard to miss for the grabs.
He felt a sudden sense of protective instincts and was determined to live solely for his family without being reckless anymore.
"But Juvia, what if someone attacks you both while in my absence?
Moreover, you still haven't recovered from your post-natal pregnancy issues due to which your magic is unstable.
How will you protect yourself and Storm? And..."
Juvia made Gray cut out his insecurities by hugging him and resting her head on his chest.
"Gray-sama, relax. Thank you for this concern. Juvia really loves this side of yours.
Don't worry, Juvia is recovering. Besides, Gajeel-kun, Erza-San and others from the guild will visit us to ensure our safety.
So Gray-sama, take care and be safe. Return back to us. Don't forget that you are a loving husband and a doting father now not an ignorant bachelor anymore.
I Love You."
She tip-toed to reach his lips to give a goodbye kiss which he responded back by leaning forward.
Just then, a wailing sound was heard from the nursery,
"Looks like my son is not letting me have my ways with his mom."
"Looks like he got that side of yours as well." Juvia giggled.
Hearing this Gray chuckled and went to attend the crying child.
He carried the crying baby in his arms and checked his diaper whether it was wet or not.
"Hey buddy, always interrupting your daddy's moments, huh!!"
Gray gently pinched the baby's small button nose.
Storm stopped crying after recognizing his dad's voice and smiled at him for being in his arms.
Storm's cute smile reminded Gray of Juvia's smile.
"You smile just like your mother. Come on, let's go and meet your mommy."
Gray blew raspberries in his chubby tummy which caused the baby to giggle and soon went to the living room.
Seeing his mother, Storm made cutesy voice and reached out his arms indicating her to carry him which didn't go unnoticed by Juvia.
"Oh baby!! What made Juvia's baby snap out of his peaceful nap time? Did my baby have a bad dream?"
Juvia examined the baby in her arms to see whether he was hurt or got bit by any insects.
After confirming her worries were baseless, she swung the baby sideways which earned her a laughter and giggles from the happy baby.
"Hey I guess he must have freaked out finding none of us along with him.
That's why started to cry to capture our attention. Smart boy just like his dad."
Gray ruffled Storm's soft hairs while feeling a surge of pride growing within him.
"Yeah, that's why now, he looks happy to be in Juvia's arms and bosoms.
Just like his daddy feeling happy and warm from the Juvia's contact."
Juvia teased her husband as he grew red due to embarrassment.
"Yeah...yeah...whatever. Come let's have a family hug. I still have a train to catch."
Gray pulled his wife into a hug without squeezing the baby in her arms. They silently enjoyed the embrace.
"Bye Juvia, Bye Storm buddy. Take care. Don't overwhelm your mommy in my absence. Bye I love you both. See ya soon."
Gray kissed his wife's lips and the baby's forehead and left for his work.
Both Storm and Juvia waved bye to their most important person and went inside the house.
"So what does Juvia's baby want to do? Wait!! mommy has a plan, let's first take a bath and spend some time with your uncles and aunts in the guild."
Juvia gently bit her baby's chubby cheeks while Storm let out cute giggles.
#
Soon Juvia reached the guild while carrying Storm in her arms after safely tugging him in his baby blanket and covered his head with a hat to avoid dust and harsh sunlight.
"Hi Juvia, good afternoon. Hi Storm. How are you?" Lucy greeted them with her big smile.
"Hello Lucy-san. Say hi to auntie Lucy." Juvia grabbed Storm's hand and made him to wave.
He flashed Lucy a bright smile which melted her heart.
"Aw!! He is so cute. Hey Juvia, can I carry him?"
"Sure"
Juvia let Lucy carry her baby after removing the blanket and the hat and made way to their usual bench.
Juvia greeted others while Lucy and Wendy and Charla were playing with her baby.
"Juvia, where is Gray? Didn't he come with you?" Both Erza and Natsu asked in unison.
"Gray-sama has gone on a mission . It would take him a week to come back." Juvia smiled and made herself comfortable in the bench.
Just then Mira came with Juvia's lunch and gave it to her which she happily accepted.
The girls have now ganged up together to take a good look at her handsome boy.
"Isn't he cute?"
Wendy squealed as Storm grabbed her finger with his tiny hands.
"Yeah, he's definitely cute. He has got the charms of his mother." Levy said while ruffling his hair.
"Yeah, he looks exactly like Juvia." Mira happily exclaimed while pinching the baby's chubby cheeks.
The other girls looked at her with a funny expression. Mira wondered what happened to them suddenly.
Cana broke the silence, "Seriously Mira, have you gonna blind? He is an exact copy of Gray.
Take a good look at his face, it's definitely Gray's face."
"No, I guess, she meant the smile on his face which is similar to Juvia's smile." Lissanna fought back for her sister.
Juvia was smiling seeing the conversation her friends were having on whom the baby went after.
According to Juvia, her baby boy was in and out resembled her Gray-sama.
Once when Gray tried to kiss her while having Storm in her arms, he cried. Both didn't know what made him grumpy suddenly.
After sometime, they realized he was possessive of his mother. As Gray again tried to kiss her, Storm moved his dad away with his chubby arms.
He didn't like sharing his mother with anyone let it be his father also.
For the next 2-3 days, whenever Gray was near Juvia, Storm had an awful crying session.
So Gray didn't want his son to cry because of him so he had to control himself on his advances until Storm let's go of his jealousy.
It reminded Juvia of how Gray was possessive whenever Lyon was around her close proximity.
Her thoughts were halted when she heard her baby's whimpering sound. She looked at him and the girls were smiling.
Then she felt an arm hugging her shoulders, when she turned to face the owner, it was Cana. She instantly knew the reason behind this act.
"See didn't I say, he is just as possessive as his father. Doesn't want to share anything belonging to him with others." Cana grinned.
"Yeah, you are right, Cana. I wonder how Gray is spending time with Juvia around Storm?"
Mira winked and Juvia understood the meaning behind it.
"Yeah Mira-San, he doesn't let Gray-sama to touch Juvia at all. Very possessive indeed." Juvia smiled.
When Cana let go of Juvia, Storm stopped crying and had a cute frown on his face which made the girls to squeal seeing his cuteness.
"See that is typical Gray's frown." Erza said while carrying the baby in her arms and rubbing her cheeks on his face causing him to giggle.
Just then Natsu made his way to her and took a good look at Storm.
On seeing his flame-breath uncle, the baby had a pissed off expression on his cute face.
Natsu exclaimed, "He is surely is Gray's son. See he has the same arrogant face and droopy eyes just like his dad. All that he got from Juvia is that eye colour." Still glaring at the baby.
Storm also gave him tough competition in glaring which reminded Natsu of Gray's never give up and tough attitude.
"Natsu-San, no one should insult Juvia's baby. If you do that again, Juvia will ask Gray-sama to take care of you." Juvia threatened Natsu with deadly glare.
"Okay Juvia, relax. I was just kidding. He is such a cute baby." Natsu tried to pinch Storm's cheeks but the baby was not interested and turned his face away from his uncle.
"Knock it off, Salamander. You are scaring him. He may have the look of that ice-prick but don't forget he is also Juvia's son."
The baby turned his attention to the iron dragon slayer and showed his cute toothless smile.
"See that is Juvia's smile. The Stripper won't have such bright smile."
Gajeel extended his arms to carry the baby and Storm happily complied to the invitation.
While Gajeel was strolling around the guild with the baby in his arms showcasing all the things much to Storm's excitement.
The girls turned their attention to Juvia and asked for her opinion,
"Of course, Juvia's baby looks and acts like her Gray-sama."
"Yeah Juvia. But for now, we can't say much about his personality but we hope he gets that from you.
So that he can grow to be more open, broad minded, happy and cheerful unlike Gray how he used to be.
I'm not trying to offend him, Juvia. But as we grew up together, I know how his personality was and it's because of you, he has changed into someone who he is now.
All I and Natsu want is that your baby shouldn't undergo what you and Gray underwent, Fine."
Erza said her heartfelt words with a warm smile which Juvia responded back.
"Yes, Erza-San. Juvia understands."
After spending some time at the guild, Gajeel dropped Juvia and Storm at her house and told that he would visit them everyday till Gray comes back.
Storm fell asleep in Gajeel's arms while on the way back home. She placed him in his bassinet and covered him with his baby blanket.
When Storm slept, he looked exactly like her Gray-sama bearing that peaceful face.
Juvia felt very happy when she saw her son for the first time, she felt complete having him in her arms. He instantly reminded her of Gray.
She forgot all the pains and troubles of labour when she saw the healthy baby sleeping in her husband's arms.
She vowed that day, she will protect her baby from any harm even by happily sacrificing her life for his safety.
Juvia knew soon her baby will grow up and he will look more and more like her Gray-sama which will make her to spoil him with all the love and pampering.
Juvia and Gray loved their son to the core and made their son's life and protection their important priority.
So till Gray returns home , Juvia had an ample amount of time to spend with her son, bond with and spoil him further which will make her son even more possessive.
This will create a hard time for Gray to convince his son that they both can equally share their most important person's affection and time.
But nevertheless, Storm loves both of his parents equally with unconditional and undivided love or should we say a little bit extra love for his amazing and stunning mother.

Remember Me: Quiet Week
It was with a slight hum that Lucy lifted the tearful four month old from his crib, smiling down at him the whole while. Being in her arms did nothing to quell his cries, but then again, they weren't very loud to begin with. He just wasn't comfortable, she figured.
"What's wrong?" the celestial mage asked softly as not to wake the other child in the room. "Huh?"
Nothing discernable. She even checked his diaper, but it was dry. And, with a long sigh, she went to take a seat in the rocking chair in the corner and just hold him for a bit. He probably just wanted some attention.
Lucy knew that she just be thankful that it was something so simple. She'd be alone with the baby and his twin brother for a few days. At least. Just her and the boys. Every time that cries could be fixed so easily she should be thankful.
She thought about summoning Lyra to sing him back into his nap, but as it was, the day wasn't right. Besides, that might have backfired and awoken the other sleeping child which would just leave her in a bigger mess. No, it was better to just try and rock him back into slumber.
The next few days would be long. That was all Lucy could think about. And dull, more than likely. She'd probably have Mirajane or Erza stop by, once or twice, but that would be about it. It was originally planned that her older child, Navi, would stay with her as Natsu and Happy went off on their job, but didn't pan out like she thought it would.
"I really can't go?" Navi had complained that morning as Natsu and Happy were getting ready to head out. She was in her parents' bedroom, seated on the bed as Natsu stood in the adjoining bathroom, getting ready. Happy was in there with him, tying his little knapsack around his neck. "I never get to go out on jobs with you anymore."
"That's 'cause you gotta stay home with Lucy," Happy told her. The woman in question was in the room as well, sitting on the bed with Navi. Err, well, really she was sitting there with the twins as Navi just glared at her.
"I don't want to though."
"You and Luce'll have tons of fun," Natsu said, glancing into the room at them. "Right, Luce?"
"Huh?" She honestly hadn't been paying much attention and only frowned. "What?"
"Navi thinks that she won't have any fun staying here with you," he said. "But you guys'll do something, huh?"
"Sure." She smiled over at her glaring daughter then. "Without the two of them here to hog it, we'll order takeout and have tons of fun."
"We never have fun," she grumbled. "Now that the stupid babies are here."
"Hey." Natsu glared over at her then. "That's not true. And I never told you that you were coming in the first place. You've been staying home with Lucy."
"That's why I'm bored of it!"
"You know," Lucy said then, "I'm sure that Haven or Locke will have you over one of the nights they're gone."
"I don't want to play with stupid Haven or Locke."
"If you just want to stay in a bad mood, Navi, fine. Go to your room. You can't always get what you want."
That made her storm off which, really, was rather odd for the girl. For the most part. It was obvious though in the past few weeks that the adjustment to having two little brothers was not going great for the nine year old.
"Nice job, Natsu," Happy complained after she left.
"Me? What did I do?"
Lucy only sighed, turning her gaze back to the babies playing on the bed with her. One was on his back, trying his hardest to grab at his feet while the other laid on his tummy, gurgling softly.
"She just wanted to go with you guys," she told the guys as, finished in the bathroom, they came back into the bedroom. "I mean, it does kinda suck for her, I know, to get stuck at home all the time. It's not like I can take her out to do anything. When you two are gone, we mostly just hang around the apartment."
Picking up his scarf from where he'd set it on the bedside table, Natsu said, "Someone has to stay with you. It's no fair for you to get stuck all by yourself. And Navi can help you out with the babies, huh?"
With a shrug, Lucy said, "I'll probably just send her off to one of her friends. At least then she'll get to have fun."
"Lucy, weren't you listening?" Happy complained as he landed on the bed, staring down at the twins. "Her friends are no fun. Sheesh, I wouldn't wanna be left with someone like you either, you can't even listen."
Reaching out, she poked him in the stomach. "If only you knew how quiet it is without you around bothering me."
"Hey!"
"You got enough jewels on you, Luce?" Natsu was already on to the next issue. "This job might take awhile. We have to walk all the way there-"
"We're not walking, Natsu," Happy complained. "We're taking the train."
"I don't wanna take the train."
"That's your problem."
Lucy only rolled her eyes. "We'll be fine with what we have. Trust me."
Standing over the bed then, Natsu leaned down to gently tickle the one baby in the tummy and nuzzle the other's head.
"Bye, boys," he whispered before lifting his head and grinning at Lucy. Returning it, she gave him a kiss when he was close enough.
"Miss us, Lucy," Happy ordered as he jumped off the bed to head out.
"Totally."
"Come on, Hap." Natsu set out then. "We gotta go make sure Navi's okay and convince her that this was all Lucy's fault."
"I'm on board with that."
That only got another eye roll from the woman who, getting to her feet then, said, "Hold on, Natsu. Can you take one of them and put them in their crib, please? I have the other. It's about time for their nap."
"Of course, Luce."
She picked up one as he came to get the other. "I think I'm gonna put them down for a bit. Start on lunch."
"Lunch?" Happy couldn't help, but to look up at that. "Natsu-"
"No, Hap. We'll eat on the way."
"No fair."
"That's definitely fair."
In the boys' room, Natsu dropped the baby in his arms in the crib before brushing a kiss to his head. "I'll see you when I get back, huh?"
When Lucy set the other one in his crib, he went to do the same thing before heading out of the room. She knew that really he wanted to hurry up and make up with Navi. The two rarely disagreed on something and there was no way he was leaving it that way.
"Navi," he called as he headed across the hall to the room she usually shared with Happy. "Hey, we're leavin'."
She was laying on her bed, face buried in a pillow, and didn't even raise up to look at him. Didn't even speak. No way that was going to be okay with the slayer.
"Hey." He went to go pat her on the head. "I said we're leaving."
"So?"
"Navi-"
"See what you've done, Natsu?" Happy came in there as well. "You can't do anything right, can you?"
"Hap, you're not helping."
"Something tells me he's not meaning to." Lucy came to stand in the doorway and staring in at them. "Hey, Navi, what if Natsu and Happy walk you down to the guild before they go? Huh? I bet there's something more fun to do there. And you can come home tonight."
That made her lift her head some. "Really?"
"Sure. It saves me from having to make lunch, anyhow."
"Hurry up and get ready," Natsu sighed as she scrambled out of bed. Lucy smiled then, at the sight of her daughter so excited, and left them to it. She was in the living room, trying to clean up a bit (with Natsu and Happy gone, the place had a chance to stay that way for awhile) when the three of them returned. A couple minutes had passed and, from the look on Natsu's face, she knew something was up.
"Hey, Luce?" He came over to her. "Navi and I were talking."
"Why does that not sound like a good thing?"
"If you're gonna let me go to the guild anyways," Navi began, "can I just go with Dad and Happy and then-"
"No."
"Huh?"
Frowning, Lucy stared at her husband instead of their daughter. "What happened to not giving into everything she wanted?"
"We don't have to give into everything," he said. "Like how she wanted to go to the park yesterday, but we didn't. Remember?"
"Natsu-"
"Please?" Navi was staring up at her. "How am I supposed to get any better if I don't ever get to go anywhere?"
"You do get to go places," Lucy insisted. "All the time. You-"
"Yeah, but Luce, think of it like this," Natsu kept up. "Now you won't have three kids to take care of. You'll just have two!"
"No."
Natsu stared at her for a second before letting his grin fall. Glancing down at his daughter, he said, "Sorry, Nav. You gotta-"
"That's not fair!"
"That's definitely fair," Happy assured her, just as Natsu had him earlier. "Besides, you're lucky. You get to stay and bother Lucy all week."
The celestial mage only gave the Exceed a glare. "Shut up, cat."
"Fine," Navi complained. "Go then."
Reaching out, Natsu ruffled her pink hair and told her to behave before heading for the door.
"See you when we get back, Luce."
Happy waved, too, at both of them, before chasing after him. The second the front door closed behind then, Lucy turned her attention to her daughter.
"You can stop glaring," she said. "You can't always go with them."
"I don't ever get to go with them anymore."
"Navi-"
"Why can't I go? Just because you can't?"
"No. That's not-"
"Locke gets everywhere with his dad," she pointed out. "And Erza takes Ravan out with her if he asked and she's S-Class! It's not fair. You're trying to make worse off than all my friends. Just because you don't like jobs-"
"We're not arguing over this."
Jutting out her lip, Navi said, "You just want me to be as miserable as you. It's not fair. I didn't want the stupid babies."
Lucy narrowed her eyes at the girl and, just like that, realized she didn't want her there. She really didn't. Navi had been horrible two weeks ago when Natsu was off on a job and, honestly, with the twins to deal with she just didn't want to put up with her. It had been a progressive change, Lucy was sure, but slowly, it had gotten to the point where she and Navi hardly spent any time with one another. Especially without Natsu or Happy around. The little time they did was usually wasted on Navi griping about not getting to be with her father. Lucy just didn't feel up to dealing with that for another week.
"Go."
"Huh"
"Go. If you don't want to be here with me, fine." Lucy shook her head. "Just go. Hurry."
"R-Really?"
Nodding slightly, Lucy said, "If you hate being here with me, fine. I'm not going to force you to-"
"I don't hate it."
"It's pretty clear that you do."
Her gaze fell a little and wasn't as dark then. "I just like going out on jobs."
"Then go, Navi."
"But-"
"I'll see you when you get back."
She only stood there though for a moment, staring at her mother, before slowly going over to her. Holding out her arms, she waited for Lucy to wrap hers around her before speaking.
"I just wanna go on jobs," she mumbled as she buried her head into her chest as Lucy leaned down. "It's not fun to be here all the time."
"I know," Lucy sighed, holding her tightly. "I'm not as much fun as Natsu, am I?"
"I didn't say that," she complained. "Mom-"
"If you wanna go, you better hurry." She tried to release Navi then, but the girl wouldn't let go. "Navi-"
"I love you."
Grinning then, finally, Lucy whispered, "I know. I love you too."
After she let her go then, Navi stared up at her. "Can I really go then?"
"Yeah," she gave in. "I guess you can. Be careful though, huh? Take care of Happy and your father."
As she ran off, Lucy only sighed before going back to cleaning. She was certain Natsu and Happy were just waiting outside the door. She always gave in. Always.
Still, not having to make lunch was nice. And, if she was going to be truthful, things would be even more peaceful without Navi around. She was never too boisterous, especially considering who her father and resident Exceed were, but still was known to accidentally awaken the twins on more than one occasion.
Not that she felt too great about being home alone. Navi wasn't too much help with the twins, but she was good at keeping one entertained as she changed the other's diaper or something. The thought of just having someone there was nice, really, but she'd been without it before. It wasn't completely horrible.
It was while she was still snuggling and cooing to the pink haired child in her arms that, suddenly, something landed on the windowsill outside the nursery window. Lucy jerked her head up as the already cracked window was pushed open further and a very excited Happy entered.
"What are you doing?" she asked in shock, though she didn't rise form her chair. "Did you forget something?"
"Yeah," he said as he only flew right over to where she was seated. "You."
"Happy-"
"It's not fair," he told her as he landed on the woman's head. "That you gotta stay behind all alone."
"I'm not alone," she told him. "I have the twins."
"That's pretty much alone," he insisted.
"So you just let Natsu and Navi go alone?" she asked in shock. "What if they need you?"
"They'll be fine," he told her. "I mean, what if you needed me?"
Grinning, if only slightly, Lucy settled even more into the rocking chair. "So you're gonna stay with me while they're gone?"
"Yep."
"Awe."
"Don't be weird," he told her. "You weirdo."
"Happy."
Snuggling up atop her head, he said, "Me and you have never spent a week with just ourselves."
"It'll be nice," she agreed.
"Will we have fish every night?"
"I don't know about every night," she told him with a roll of her eyes, "but most, I guess. If that's what you want."
"It is," he assured her. "Natsu and Navi will be so jealous."
"I bet."
"And won't he be shocked when he realizes just how much he needs me?" The cat chuckled. "They'll hardly be able to do anything without me, I bet."
"Me too," she agreed softly. The child in her arms had finally calmed some, settling out in her arms. When she glanced down at him and found that he was asleep, she smiled before getting to her feet. Going over to his brother's crib, she gently laid him in there with the other sleeping boy. There were times when the two of them wanted to be far away from one another and needed their own cribs, but for the most part, they seemed to find much more solace in being close. "There you go."
"Which one do you like better?" Happy asked her as they stared down into the crib. The pink haired baby that she'd just laid down snuggled right up to his bald headed twin. "Lucy?"
"I don't like either one better."
"Mmm…I like Lucky better," he told her. "'cause of Happy and Lucky. Get it?"
"I think I got it, Hap."
"But Iggy's nice too," he went on. "I guess. When he's not crying."
"He does cry a bit more, doesn't he?"
"A lot," Happy agreed. "But he's okay, I guess."
"You guess," she teased as she walked away then, him still riding atop her head. "That's how you felt about Navi. And now look. You even trust her to take care of Natsu for you while you stay home."
"Yeah, it's a hard job to take," he told her, "but I think she's up for the challenge."
Lucy had her doubts, but at the same time, Happy wasn't much of a comfort if he'd been there either. She liked him much better at home with her.
She liked them all at home with her, really.
"When the last time you washed your hair, Lucy?"
For the most part.
"Shut it, cat," she complained as she took him to the living room. When she sat down on the couch, he jumped right off her head and into her lap, snuggling up into her chest. "We have to get along for the next few days, remember. If we don't, I'll ship you out."
"To Wendy's, please." He deviously rubbed his hands together. "This feels like the year."
"The year for what?"
"Me and Carla," he insisted. "That's what."
"You say that every year," she pointed out. "And we're in the middle of a year right now. So I don't-"
"I'm telling you, Lucy, I feel it."
Giggling, she leaned down to nuzzle her head against him, something the Exceed resisted.
"Lucy-"
"You're so silly, you know that?"
"You're such a weirdo." Still though, when she sat back up, he snuggled right back against her. It took a moment or two, but eventually he said, "I'm sorry that Navi didn't want to stay with you."
"It's okay." Smiling down at him, she said, "I can't be too mad. I like being with Natsu too."
"Me too," he told her with a nod. Then, pausing, he added, "But I like being with you too."
"Yeah, Hap." Settling out on the couch to rest, she mumbled, "Same."
He let her just get comfortable before saying, "Uh, Lucy?"
"Hmmm?"
"My lunch?"
Holding down an eye roll, the woman could only grin and shake her head as she got to her feet. So much for her quiet week at home.
"Of course."

Falling Over - Chapter 34
“Lauren, can you grab some advil out of the cabinet above the sink?” Camila asks as she rolls onto her side to face the girl who’s just finished making sure all mirrors are covered in the room.
“Sure Camz, you okay?” Lauren questions as she goes to Camila’s bathroom to shuffle through the cabinet and find the advil, grabbing some and then a water bottle from the sink that she’d left there earlier.
“Yeah just cramps and a headache, nothing ghost related just the other bitch,” Camila huffs rubbing at her forehead as she accepts the two pills Lauren drops into her hand, swallowing them with no issue then reaching for the water Lauren has uncapped for her.
“Aww babe,” Lauren starts as she drops the pills onto the bedside table and lies down behind Camila, carefully scooching closer to cuddle. “Anything I can do to help?” she requests, pulling Camila into her from behind and gently rubbing her stomach in hopes of soothing something.
“Mm, just cuddle me,” Camila mumbles as she buries her face into a pillow and lets herself be pulled back into Lauren’s embrace.
It’s been a long day for the two and the lack of sleep the night before isn’t even the half of it. After the eventful reuniting with Ally and then emotional talk with her family, they played a game of flag football with Lucy, Harry, and Niall who had stopped by once they were done with family stuff and to say that game was tiring is an understatement. So being on her period has made everything ten times worse for Camila and a nap is much needed despite the consequences of sleeping.
“How about you get some sleep okay? I can keep my hand on your wrist so I’ll notice if your pulse picks up and I won’t let you get too far gone,” Lauren suggests as she uses one hand to still rub Camila’s tummy but the other to grasp Camila’s hand in her own gently so she can rest her thumb on the pulse point so Camila’s wrist, not wanting to press down at all though since Camila gets bruised more on her wrists and neck and Lauren doesn’t want to unknowingly cause Camila any sort of pain.
“But what about you? You need sleep too you know Laur?” Camila asks and turns her head to the side slightly so she can face Lauren as she talks. “I don’t want you to lose sleep over me, you’ve already lost enough,” Camila continues and Lauren’s jaw drops when she reads the tone and realizes that Camila feels guilty about this past week full of sleepless nights for them both.
“Camz,” Lauren starts gently, “Even if I wasn’t trying to help you with your ghost, I still care about you.” Lauren lifts her hand from Camila’s to guide the girl’s eyes back to her’s when she tries to look away before continuing, “I care about you and I would lose as much sleep as necessary if it means you can get a nap,” Lauren says with as much sincerity as she can muster because she knows Camila won’t believe her. And Camila does have a look on uncertainty still so Lauren continues once more, “how about you nap now and in a few hours I can get some sleep okay? Does that work, we can switch off looking after each other,” Lauren bargains and she catches a glimpse of a small smile on Camila’s face so she knows the girl is caving.
“Fine,” Camila mumbles with a shy smile, “but no takesys backsys, you need to sleep once I’m up and I get to be the big spoon then,” Camila points an accusatory finger in Lauren’s face at that Lauren bats away with a grin nodding her head in agreement eagerly if it’ll make the younger girl get some shut eye. “Okay then, fine that’s yeah I’ll sleep. But you have to hold my hand and rub my tummy the whole time,” Camila decides and that’s a quick switch from not accepting to demanding but Lauren just keeps nodding and Camila finally turns her head back to face away from her again, sliding her back into Lauren so they’re as close as possible.
“Okay then goodnight Camzi, try to relax right now so your sleep will be more peaceful,” Lauren instructs as she rubs soft circles on the smooth skin of Camila’s stomach now under her shirt and soothes a thumb over Camila’s palm.
Camila nods in acknowledgement of what Lauren said and does as she’s told. Instead of focusing on the impending doom, she focuses on the bitchy cramps sick feeling in her stomach. Instead of dreading her nightmare that should arrive anytime now, Camila thinks about the uncomfortable banging, pounding in her head that accompanies the seven days in hell that her period is.
But she said relax, not just distract her mind so Camila focuses instead on Lauren’s breath against her neck, Lauren’s hands on her body, Lauren’s warmth. And hell that should work for maybe two hours of sleep.
It works for five hours of sleep. That’s a lot as far as both girls are concerned and Lauren stays awake by turning so Camila is resting on her chest and she can put the tv on in the corner of the room quietly. Camila’s a light sleeper so moving her isn’t difficult, but the effort it takes Lauren to pull away for even a second to get the clicker bothers her more than it should. But cuddling with Camila is too warm and soft and it’s not Lauren’s fault she doesn’t want to pull away.
She feels a spike in pulse at four in the morning. It’s the longest Camila’s been able to sleep in such a long time that Lauren is almost giddy when she checks the time, but now she feels even worse having to wake her up. Another thing that’s been happening recently along with a spike in pulse is a chill through Camila’s body. It isn’t internal, it’s just Camila’s body heat is less radiant and cuddling becomes abruptly cold. That’s a good thing though because usually it’ll wake Lauren up before Camila’s nightmares can get too far, but it’s also a bad thing because Lauren’s never heard of that happening to anybody.
“Camz,” Lauren whispers as she shakes the girl’s shoulder gently. “Camz, you’re okay I’m here you’re dreaming,” she continues, moving to sit next to her, hoping the lack of warmth will make her wake up. “Camz babe come on get up,” Lauren tries again and shakes Camila’s arm gently. Checking her pulse it’s yet to get too fast but it definitely isn’t what one would describe calm anymore.
It only takes a few more small shakes and Camila bolts upright in her place and sucks in a deep breath, as she does every time she’s awoken from the nightmare.
“Laur?” Caila squeaks out as she rubs at her eyes to clear the blackness that’s usually surrounding her view at this point. “Lolo come here,” she says and her voice cracks in the way it goes before she cries so Lauren scoops her up and pulls her sideways into her lap again to cry into her shoulder.
“I’m right here Camz I’m here,” Lauren mumbles into her hair as the younger girl buries her face into Lauren’s neck, breathing in her scent and becoming more aware of what’s reality and what’s some morphed form that she has the misfortune of experiencing.
Lauren just holds her for a while. She doesn’t say anything because as always she’s waiting for Camila to speak first but she knows that holding her is helping based on the way Camila is becoming warm again.
“Laur?” Camila mumbles, looking up to find Lauren’s eyes on her nervously awaiting her words and how bad the dream could’ve been. “It wasn’t too bad, didn’t get past the hands in my wrists appearing but nothing too cold or tight,” she explains because she knows the routine by now and the sooner she answers Lauren can go back from ghost hunter Lauren to ghost hunter plus girlfriend Lauren, which means not only great help and protection but more kisses and better cuddles.
“Okay that’s… that’s great actually,” Lauren replies with a small smile taking over her face. “Are you in any pain right now?” she asks and camila thinks for a second before shaking her head. “You were out for a little over five hours Camz,” Lauren informs and now Camila knows why this is so good and shares a smile with Lauren. “That’s the longest you’ve gotten in a week.”
“Thank god, maybe tomorrow we can try something like this again-” Camila stops mid thought and pushes Lauren to the side so she can look at the clock. “Laur four am? You let me sleep that long without even napping yourself?” Camila pouts moving out of Lauren’s reach to glare until she gets an answer to which Lauren sheepishly shrugs. “God Laur how did you even stay awake?” Camila asks and lies back to lean on the head board. Lauren grins in rpely and points toward the tv, covering a yawn with her hand that Camila can’t help but giggle at because Lauren’s yawns are so cute but her smile yawns are even cuter.
“Okay Laur you’re going to bed now,” Camila commands making Lauren chuckle shortly before she stretches her arms out above her.
“Are you sure you’re not in any pain?” Lauren asks as she peels back the covers to reach for the remote to turn off the tv until she’s asleep, then Camila can do what she wants with it. “None emotional or physical? You’re definitely all good?” to which Camila nods. “Okay well let me just check for bruising now so we don’t have to do that later, lift up,” Lauren says and Camila pouts but pulls her shit over her head and spins for Lauren to examine her back.
Lauren hums in confusion when she sees the faint purple glow that covers most of Camila’s back, lightly pressing her fingers against it and seeing the skin around her fingertips pale. But Camila doesn’t flinch.
“Camz?” Lauren asks, pressing her fingers a little harder higher up and still getting no reaction. “Can you feel this?”
“What your fingers? Yeah Laur kinda hard not to, they’re warm and soft and, what type of moisturizer do you use again? I’ll need to borrow it sometime cause-”
“No Camz that’s not- I didn’t mean that I meant the bruise, does it hurt?” Lauren cuts in as she notices that Camila is on one of those rambles that can literally last a whole half hour if you let her keep going. “It’s covering your whole back babe,” she continues, pressing to the tops of her shoulders before brushing her hair up to observe her neck which has it’s normal faint blue outline around it from the nightmares.
“Really?” Camila asks disbelievingly as she tries to spin her head around to shoot Lauren a questionable look but Lauren holds her head in place making her huff. “C’mon Laur I wanna see it,” Camila whines and it’s always been weird to Lauren that Camila is so fascinated with the bruising as long as it doesn’t hurt. Maybe it’s to distract herself from what the bruises actually mean.
“I’ll take a picture later then Camila,” Lauren argues as she takes on last scan to make sure there’s nothing too bad. “Besides you can’t see your own back by turning your head to look down at it, you’d hurt your neck,” Lauren finishes as she tosses Camila’s shirt back over her head and helps slip it down.
“Now you go to sleep?” Camila asks with a grin and Lauren nods as she lies down. “Okay good, here lie on me baby,” she instructs as she lies on her back and Lauren takes the spot on Camila’s chest happily and lets their legs tangle.
She doesn’t quite get five hours. She gets two, she gets two peaceful hours of sleep resting on Camila but the shaking wakes her up.
Now if Lauren was any normal person she’d groan and roll into her pillow for ten more minutes much like she did in her high school days. She’d shoo away whatever was shaking and ignore it until it posed a threat to her life, then she’d wake up (even then it’s still a maybe).
But she’s not a normal person so she knows the shaking is something to worry about. And her pillow is what’s shaking underneath her head.
It only takes a snap second for Lauren to shoot up and look down to Camila and she wants to yell for help at the sight of Camila with her eyes closed shaking.
Lauren knew this would happen soon enough and she knows all she can do is wait for the seizure to end. It’s not uncommon for haunted victims to have frequent seizures in the few weeks or just few days before the ghost is able to get inside their head. They happen because of how hard the brain is constantly trying to fight off the attacking spirit and eventually they weaken it even more to a point that fighting off the ghost is impossible.
They’re scary and they show a lot and all Lauren can do right now is roll Camila onto her side so she doesn’t choke if she happens to throw up after or during and try to hold her in place by her shoulders so she won’t get hurt rolling off of the bed.
She doesn’t want to look at Camila’s face but she has to watch the other girl to make sure it isn’t going worse than it normally is, but it is going as suspected and it only takes five minutes ish for Camila’s body to be limp and tired and weak on the ebd below Lauren.
Both girls are shaken up. Lauren helps Camila to curl up into a resting position but knows Camila won’t fall asleep after that so she just holds her body without any worry about nightmares. Right now she’s more concerned about what the next day brings, the next week, the next month.
She’s known since they met with Chord that things are going downhill but this is the closest they’ve gotten and now she knows how weak Camila’s head is getting, which also shows how much torture she’s had to go through this past month.
For someone’s mind to fight so hard that it hurts itself is one thing that Lauren has always thought must be a horrible process. Not only for the victim but for her to have to help them through. Not that it’s a bother in any way to help Camila, just that it’s so physically and emotionally draining to see someone go through so much and know that the worst is yet to come. That sucks.
Now combine that feeling with having to go through this with somebody you care about deeply? That hits too close to home and Lauren lets herself cry into Camila hair as she curls up behind the shaken up, recovering girl. She’s grateful that they don’t have to be up for another two hours because she doesn’t know and nobody could know how long Camila needs to bounce back, and she doesn’t want anyone to barge in on them when she’s trying to hold her emotions together but failing.
Seeing camila like that was hard, harder than she imagined it would be, and her reaction right now may not be usual for ghost hunter people but the immediate reaction was the right one, and Lauren knows her feelings aren’t going to slow her down because she’s going to use every muscle and every other thing in her to help the girl she just had to witness breaking apart for what feels like the billionth time.
This is where day one starts. Lauren had been through the nightmares and those had been hard, but this? This takes a toll that she can in no way prepare for. She has Zayn, she has her training, and she has herself, and she really hopes that’s enough to keep her Camila.
