KAIJUNE 2024 #4: INVISIBLE TOUCH
Tumblr media
Well, the fish still keep coming in. I mean, they don't look like fish anymore, they're like... the sea-life-equivalent of all those things they put in hotdogs mixed together, but they seem alive, and they taste alright, so I guess the fish are coming in, and nothing's stopping 'em from coming in. Life goes on...
...To tell ya the truth, I'm scared though. It's all been fine for me, my number ain't come up yet, it's all been good. But I'm scared when it does. Some of the boys've still been able to work after it. Some of 'em can't. Some of 'em... Well, they can do things. They can help. It still weirds me out, what they're doin now. I think it weirds 'em out too.
But she does keep 'em coming in, along with that other stuff. She killed Foot Foot when that... thing tried to hit our boat. Ripped 'em into pieces, boiled his skin. We'd all be dead if it weren't for her. So now, I think about how the fish still keep coming in. Because thinking about the other stuff is worse.
-Captain Redd Paulsen, 68, fisherman.
She saved my life. Right after she took it from me. Like, you know the Mr Brownstone incident? it was the day after I got picked for the lottery. I would've died there if she hadn't turned that thing into steaming meat.
Some days, I wish I had. Coral skin and hair-trigger ink sacs aren't the best for daily life working in retail, yanno? And you can't do shit to get on disability, even with the whole... [Gestures to the world around her].
But, at least it can only go up from here. That's what I tell myself to get out of bed.
-Jenny Rachels, 23, retail worker (former)
Well, I always wanted to work from home. But not like this. I liked having working fucking legs more than I wanted to work from home I'll tell you that! The tentacles're useless for my job too, fucking things have a mind of their own.
Someone said that might be literally true when I brought that up. It took every bit of willpower I had not to punch the smug little fucker, how about you fucking say that when the lotto picks YOU for this shit!
But, silver linings, silver linings. The new teeth at least mean I never have to pay for dental again. And I've at least kinda made a side business with crafts of 'em. I don't know why that shit sells so well, it's just shark teeth. Perverts, probably.
-Dana Raynes, 33, freelance editor.
I don't know why everyone's so mad. I mean, sure I'm not as dextrous as before, but I have assistants for that, and it's done wonders for my marketing!
Like, sure some of us aren't as lucky as the others, but that just means you gotta work harder, just put in a little more pepper, a little more elbow grease! Like, it took me a while to come up with "The long arm of the law has a crab claw," eat your heart out Brian David Gilbert, I love that, we're shooting commercials tomorrow.
-Albert Gilbin, 28, Lawyer
ALBERT GILVIN CAN GO FUCK HIMSELF!
-Regina "Blobfish" Lanoil, age unidentifiable, freelance exotic dancer
I tried to run once. The scales and the webbing and this stupid fucking beak I got now means I can swim really fast, small comfort I suppose. I know, I know I would've probably died before I got down coast, if not from the ocean than from the other monsters. I think now dying would've been preferrable to this. But that doesn't fucking matter anymore, now does it?
...I got a few miles out before she saw me. How do I know she saw me? Well, the fucking radiation glow was when she saw me's a big fucking hint. Einstein! I mean, it;s always glowing, but it really fucking GLOWS when she looks at you, with that eye behind that... hair? I think that's hair?
I know she could've killed me. I know she would've  if she wanted to, she's done worse to people who curse her out by the docks, I saw it with my eyes. Well, my old eyes anyway. But she just put me back, like you'd pick up a declawed cat running for the door. I think she smiled at me, as close as it could be to smiling for that thing.
I used to think she was using us, that she we were like cattle to her. I don't think that anymore. I think she loves us and doesn't want us to leave. And I think that scares me even more.
-James Howard, 19, food service worker
I'd like to be left anonymous, for my wife's sake not mine. I like to think I got lucky on the lottery, even if my wife got hit a couple of times.
I still love her, she's still beautiful to me, even with what happened. But... what scares me isn't what she did to my wife's body, but to her mind. To everyone's minds after the lottery, really.
Like, you know when she killed Mr Brownstone? My wife and me were there, we were hiding under some of the cars for most of it, but that's not important. What is important is what happened when she killed it. She tore out some hunks of meat,  and just... very intentionally dropped it, like food for a dog.
I didn't think anything of it until my wife just... started running towards it, claws out. And she started eating the meat, raw, like an animal, the blood and flesh on her teeth. I saw her dripping slime from her skin a few minutes in. She always hated being seen doing that, but she was just... unaware.
I tried to walk to snap out of it, but she, the big mermaid, just whipped me away, like a fly. I didn't break anything, but I know she could've. It only ended when she blacked out. Wife doesn't remember a thing about it.
They said there was a bunch of liquid miracle in Mr Brownstone's chest, and yeah that's a windfall, town sustainability, yadda yadda. but... what's she doing to our minds. The way we think, the way we are? That's what I'm worried about.
-[ANONYMOUS]
I hate this fucking job.
Like, tourism is up from the perverts and gawkers! The economy's doing gangbusters from the liquid miracle! People are moving here for stability even with all this shit going on! If you ask if we're economically better off than we were seven years ago, all the stats point to yes! So why does everything still feel like it's so shit?!
...The lottery. It's the fucking lottery. I hate that we have it, but more than that I hate that we have to have it. It was the only thing that would work as fair as it could, that wouldn't have the whole town in a witch hunt for some outgroup or other!
Hell, I didn't make myself immune to it, I could have! I totally could have and I want the electorate to know it! You look into my eye... thingies? I think someone said this is from a barreleye, and quite frankly I buy it.
But you know what creeps me out the most? You know the reports of people who collapsed? The ones who just turn into fish parts and screaming meat? Note how few of them there are. Like, even with the way we try with how the lottery works, boys in the room try to keep repeat instances low, it's still way less than you'd think.
I think she's trying to not make us break. She wants to keep going as long as she can. And the implications scare me. But, at least I have a long time to worry about it, cause re-election's no question. Everyone knows she's the real mayor. I just work here.
-Rachel Wernstrom, 57, mayor
I can't walk anymore, but I can swim with these... tails? Not-legs? I think they're dolphin, but like, they're webbed. But I can't go on land anymore. If you ever see Lisa Thornton, tell her I'm sorry. For everything. And that I can't come back, she has me now.
-Frank Wilson, 45, chef (former)
She was looking at me the other night. Like, sure, I live near the docks, we all see her when she's walking by, but she looked at me, in my window. I saw her eye
I don't know why. I never got picked for the lottery, I saw what it did to a few other people, so she cant've seen me there. I never went out of my way to look at her, she scares me.
Maybe she likes my genes. Maybe she just likes me. I'm scared what happens when the lottery comes up. Because it always comes up when you want it to least. Poor Gina...
-Finn Robertson, 37, electrician
Huh. Not many people come to talk to me anymore. They're scared of me, as I'm presuming anyone that gets called the "High Priest" would. But I'm not that pretentious. Not anymore. You can't be when you look like me now.
I talk to her, bring her words to the mayor and officials who want to listen instead of getting mulched into a pulp. She's a better conversationalist than you'd think. Though, that might be because I was the first person who tried in years, at least, in her way,
She really does love them you know, her people. Like she loved the people of her old city, before it sank and almost took her with it. But that was a long time ago, millennia by her account. She's not much on the details.
I don't know whether... it was the fall of her city or what we, and I mean the royal we of modern humankind, did with testing in the place after that, but she's not well. She's falling apart. needs DNA to help repair her fraying code, like a cornucopia of the sea constantly rotting.
Don't tell her, but I think that;'s the saddest part. She's trying to meet them in the middle. She loves her children, she wants them to be safe, fulfilled and happy, but I don't know if they can be any of those things with what she needs to survive. Not really, not for long.
And yet, still, life goes on. Maybe someday things will change, but for now, life goes on...
-Saul Jonas, Age unidentifiable, marine biologist (former)."High Priest" of Invisible Touch (current)

Ability Notes: Think of a thing sealife can do. She can do that on a kaiju scale ala Rikuo from Darkstalkers, albeit it's a bit... unstable given she has to Tetsuo out to do it. Though the Tetsuo-ing is pretty useful on it.s own. She can also shoot blasts of radiation, but given it physically causes her pain and further tissue (and possibly genetic) decay, she tends to only do so as a last resort.
She can also do the "swapping stable DNA with her constantly decaying broken genes" thing to kaiju, albeit it's temporary and not really "nourishing" for her, given how kaiju DNA tends towards being a mess at the best of times.
Bonus Trivia: She can influence the way an organism ends up mutating to some degree when doing the whole DNA-swap thing, according to their personalities and their desires. This is often less useful than you'd think because she has a... weird interpenetration of people's desires when she does so, and even when she gets it right, it's more an art than a science.
----------------
While I started on Space Oddity earliest specifically for Kaijune, I started on ol IT much earlier as an attempt at a Mermay thing that underwent similar design struggles, until I decided to eventually put her in Kaijune.
And yes, development-design hell is a running theme with this year, why do you think it took until October?!
But yeah, I chose the name because, well, it kinda felt like it fit, and given that song's basically an "evil woman" song that's speculated to be about radiation, my mind took me to "yandere mermaid doing An Innsmouth."  which, god there's a good reason I make my Kaijune kaiju CC-BY, because I'd bet folks could do way more interesting things with someone who's trying to make the best of a bad situation but still inevitably causes harm.
Granted, I can also think of some worse things that self-pitying abuser-types who aggressively refuse self-improvement might do with her in their art (Nobody I've known, but I could still name names), but c'est la vie, such is the risks of the Creative Commons and the rewards are worth it.
And yes, I am aware of how horny people will be for giant yandere mermaid who TFs you. This is not my first rodeo, and I too am one of the clowns.
And, in that grand Kaijune tradition, this character and all related narrative elements are under a CC-BY 4.0 license, as long as I, Thomas F Johnson, am credited as their creator. Have fun!

Kpop title track ranking: EXO
In this series I’ll be ranking kpop groups/soloists title tracks based on my taste.
Oh EXO, EXO, EXO. I've had a journey with them for sure. The baby kpop-lover me had real hard time getting over their popularity and for the longest time just refused to give them a real chance. Then came Hurt and the walls that I've build started slowly but surely crumble. Fast forward to this day and I'm the biggest advocate for a long list of their amazing b-sides. So, I've come a long way with EXO but let's see how the title tracks go (and I'm just listing the Korean ones).
Lucky One - The unrivaled number one for me. It just caught my ear right from the start and I haven't changed my mind since.
Sing For You - This one really hit me in the feels here. Not one I'd actively go for most of the time but I can only put it high on the list out of respect for it.
Miracles in December - Odd one to rank as it is clearly a seasonal song but here we go. I have to say it's absolutely gorgeous. Definitely one of my most played seasonal kpop songs during Christmas time.
Universe - It's gorgeous. It carries so much emotional weight.
Mama - EXO got their fair share of the SM's emo phase (see. e.g. Super Junior's Don't Don). Mama is a throwback and a memorable debut for sure. It's also the type of dramatic song that I do go for and actually surprisingly often do. So I just had to reward that
Love Shot - It's popular for a reason, right? So catchy and so easy to listen to. What's not to like?
Call Me Baby - It just works, so who am I to deny it?
Love Me Right - It just works, so who am I to deny it? part 2
Obsession - Cool dark concept goodness. What's not to like? part 3
Monster - Welp I had never clearly read the lyrics before, as I had no idea how freaky they are. Anyway, it's undoubtedly memorable one. Also, I will forever be salty for this overshadowing Lucky One as they were a double title and Monster was the more popular one.
Overdose - I have this vague memory of my friend showing me this one when it was released. As the preamble probably indicates I wasn't sold on it then. But now, surely a great one.
Don't Fight The Feeling - Originally I didn't like it as much as I do now. It's a fun one that works!
Tempo - It's a fun up-tempo one that gets me going. The squeaky noise sample just jumps at me bit too much these days.
Growl - It's good one for sure, got ton of hype for a reason.
Wolf - What can I say here. It's crazy, right? Concept taken very literally, but I can't deny that the instrumentals and the vocals just work. Probably not, however, one to show to someone as their introduction to kpop or older kpop, you just might lose a potential fan.
Cream Soda - A terrible first impression and I was just really disappointed with it. However, now I had fun with it so it doesn't deserve the bottom spot that I thought it would get. The more you know.
Lotto - I was about to forget this one, upsy. That instrumental break near the end of the song is quite obnoxious as are some of the vocal effects as well.
Ko Ko Bop - I absolutely despised the instrumental in the chorus when this was released, I'm not gonna lie. I did learn to live with it at some point but yeah overall not one I'd go for too often. Mostly just because of that noisy chorus.
Power - For some reason Power just went right past me. Sure, it's cheerful and up-tempo but it just doesn't stick with me at all.
For Life - One that I have listened to possibly once or twice before. It's as pretty as expected but as I don't have a personal connection with this one I can't put it above others.
And the b-sides. This one is actually tough as I don't want to list all the once on my EXO playlist but also picking just a handful seems too little. So, my solution is another ranking! Here goes my top 10 EXO b-sides (no explanation, would probably be different if you asked me tomorrow xD).
Hurt
Gravity
Been Through
Forever
Trauma
Sweet Lies
Heart Attack
Cinderella
Artificial Love

Tomorrow
Interstate 7 cut a sharp line through the desert. This artery connected people, goods, and jobs: the nutrients for a better tomorrow. Some accident had created the town of Arbury which now clung to the interstate the way a droplet of water hangs onto a leaky pipe. Two sun-bleached signs on each side of the freeway greeted the passersby who rarely stopped. Population: 436. Next Exit.
Rufus manned the convenience store of Arbury Gas, the only place for fuel for twenty miles in each direction. He sold chips, jerky, candy, gum, soda, beer, slushies, instant noodles, and coffee: food for every want and desire. The trucks outside lined up against the rusting stations, each carrying a piece of tomorrow to a destination far from Arbury. Rufus eyed the in-store cameras, poked at his phone, and wondered what his daughter looked like now.
She’d be no older than this kid, he thought. A boy in a white T-shirt and jeans walked in, jingling the bells on the door. His head flipped left and right, scanning the store until he found his target. He walked up to the display of colorful scratchers next to the counter.
“Hello, sir. I have four dollars and fifty cents. Do you sell lottery tickets?”
Earnest hazel eyes awaited an answer.
“What’s your name, son?”
“Sam. Sam Freeman.”
“Well Sam, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Rufus. Sorry, but you’re not old enough to play the lotto.”
“How old do I need to be?”
“Eighteen.”
“I’m almost eighteen.”
Rufus laughed at the attempt. “You can come back once you are.”
“Well, can I buy one for mom? She’s the one who sent me here.”
“She should know you can’t buy one. Why didn’t she just come to get one herself?”
Sam shrugged. “Mom started sending me to do things. She just smokes on the couch watching TV. She even tried to send me to get cigarettes.”
Rufus sat down in his chair. He shivered at the eerie familiarity of this story. His daughter had needed him too.
“Come here, Sam.” Sam didn’t have any room to move closer to the counter. Rufus rolled his chair over instead, his face now only a foot from Sam’s.
“Your mom smokes inside?”
“Yeah. She wants the house to smell awful for when the bad guys from the bank move in. Mom says it’ll be better when we leave. We’ll have a house in the mountains where we’ll find all our own food and we won’t have to worry about groceries or the guys from the bank. All I have to do is get a lottery ticket.”
Rufus searched Sam’s face but found no trace of doubt or laughter. He sighed. His knees brushed the old cardboard box living underneath the counter. It was a big box, containing every Lucky7 ticket Rufus had ever bought, daily purchases since they took his daughter. He had done nothing wrong. His only sin was not having enough money to get a lawyer. He never drank that much, and he swore he had never put a hand on her. They still took her.
Rufus finally looked up. “All right. You said you had four dollars, Mister Sam?”
“Four-fifty.”
“Well, you only need four for the best one, the Lucky7. I’ll buy it for you.”
“Really? Thank you! Do I need to do anything else?”
“You pick seven numbers from one to twenty. Every night, they announce the winning seven numbers. If you match all seven, you win the jackpot.”
Sam grinned. “Can I pick my numbers? One, eleven, three, nineteen, eight, seven.”
“That’s only six numbers.”
“Ok, add another seven. Seven is a lucky number.”
The register whirred as it printed the receipt with the numbers. Sam placed four crumpled one dollar bills on the counter. Rufus exchanged the four ones with the seven Lucky7 numbers.
“How much is the jackpot?” Sam asked.
“It’s huge!” came from behind. Sam jumped and turned around to see a bald, burly man holding a cola.
“Hiya, Roof. It’s been a while,” he said.
“Hey Eddie. I didn’t see you walk in. Your routes kept you away?”
“Yeah, the Company has been sending me on port runs up north. I haven’t had a job down south in weeks, but tomorrow I’ll finally be back home. It’s been hard on the wife. Anyways, what are you up to now, getting kids hooked on the lotto?” Eddie laughed. “Count me in. Get me a Lucky7.”
“You also get Lucky7’s?” Sam asked.
“Sure, from time to time, but not as many as this guy.” Eddie jerked a thumb at Rufus.
“Wow, we’re all in this together,” Sam said to his ticket.
“It’s every man for himself nowadays,” Eddie said. “If we were all in it together, none of us would be buying these Lucky7’s.”
“What will you do when you win?” Sam asked, looking up.
Eddie put a hand on Sam’s shoulder. “I’ve seen the whole world. You name a town, I’ve seen it through my windshield. The best thing money can buy is a house on the beach. Crisp salty air, the squeal of gulls, the sand between your toes—that’s heaven on earth. Doc says it’ll fix my foot too.”
“Mom says we’re going to get a house in the mountains where we’ll find all our own food and we won’t have to worry about groceries or the guys from the bank,” Sam replied.
Eddie grabbed a bag of jerky and put it on the counter next to his cola. “I didn’t know you started them this young, Roof.”
“They’re old enough if they’ve got nothing left. Seven-sixty with the ticket,” Rufus said. He handed Eddie a receipt with seven numbers.
“The price of hope,” Eddie grumbled.
Sam walked up beside Eddie and showed him his numbers. “Which numbers did you pick?”
“Listen kid. It doesn’t matter. They’re all the same anyway. Just ask this guy,” he pointed to Rufus. “If you really want a house in the mountains, you should study hard and be a radiologist.”
“Is he the guy who fixes radios?”
“No, he’s the guy who cures cancer.”
“Are you a radio guy, Mister Eddie? What about you, Mister Rufus?”
Eddie roared. “No, I just drive other people’s stuff around. Roof sells it. Don’t be like us, okay?”
The door jingled as Eddie left the store. Rufus watched Eddie walk over the pavement and step into his truck, which, like all the others, never loaded or unloaded anything in Arbury, except its driver.
Sam looked at the door long after Eddie had disappeared. He clutched the bit of paper with both of his hands. “Mister Rufus, is this ticket bad?”
“Why do you say that?”
“Mister Eddie made it sound bad.”
“It’s only bad if you have better choices.”
“Like what? Fixing radios?”
“Yes, like fixing radios.”
The car radio had captivated his daughter on their last roadtrip. She would ask him to twiddle the dial to hear thin slices of a dozen radio stations mashed together. She’d giggle and ask him to do it again. And again.
“How do you fix radios?” Sam asked.
“I don’t know. I’d be a radiologist if I knew how,” Rufus said without smiling. “You should go ask your mom about it.”
“Good idea. Can I come back tomorrow to see if we won the Lucky7?”
“Yes, we can look at the numbers together.” Rufus said, looking at his ticket. Every ticket brought him one day closer to finding her.
“Great, I’ll see you then!” Sam ran for the door, but stopped after a few steps. “Mister Rufus, what will you do when you win the Lucky7?”
Rufus searched for the right answer. Sam’s earnest hazel eyes waited.
“I’m going to buy a big beautiful house for my daughter,” Rufus said.
Sam nodded gravely. “You must be a really great dad.” The bell jingled as Sam pushed his way out of the store.
“Take care of your mother!” Rufus shouted at the closed door.
Sam burst into the store the next morning. “Did we win, Mister Rufus?”
Hazel eyes glimmered at him.
“Let me check. Seven, fifteen, fourteen, two, four, seven, nine.”
Sam held his ticket as Rufus read out the numbers. “Hey, I matched one of those sevens, right? What do I win?”
Rufus dug through the stack of ones in the cash register, trying to find the crumpled bills Sam had given him yesterday. He extracted one and put it on the counter. “You win a dollar. You have to match all of the numbers to win big.”
“This isn’t enough to get the house in the mountains,” he said to the dollar bill. He pocketed it.
Rufus said nothing.
Sam brightened. “How about you? Did you win?”
Rufus pulled out his ticket and motioned for Sam to look at it. “No, I didn’t win.” Rufus tossed the ticket into the box.
They both studied the empty countertop.
“When’s our turn?” Sam asked, looking up at the wall of colorful scratchers.
“Soon. Maybe tomorrow, or the day after.”
“I have to buy another ticket though, right?” Sam asked.
Rufus nodded.
“Mister Eddie said you buy the Lucky7 a lot. You still don’t have that house for your daughter?”
“Not yet.”
“But, we will win eventually, right?”
“Yes.”
“How long will it take? Have you counted your Lucky7’s?”
Rufus kicked his box. “No. Why would I do that?”
Sam shrugged. “If we try often enough, we should win, right?”
Rufus said nothing.
“Mom gave me four more dollars.” Sam dug into his pockets.
“You want another Lucky7?”
“We will win eventually, right?”
“Yes.”

New York State Lottery
Tumblr media
The New York State Lottery runs three jackpots, about a dozen scratch-off games and five daily drawings though 15,000 retailers and approximately 14,000 online outlets. The establishment of the New York State Lottery was made by the new state constitution which was passed in 1966. Just about one third of the lottery's revenue, which results in $2 billion a year, goes directly to the support of New York City Education. The New York State Lottery also awards scholarships to the Leaders of Tomorrow to one eligible graduating senior who is chosen from each private and public school in the state. The only stipulation to accepting this award is that they must attend New York universities. There are several games that can be played in the lottery. Here are a couple of the favorites and how to play them: Take Five - Visit any New York State Lottery retailer and ask for a playcard. Choose 5 numbers that go from 1 to 39 and fill in the squares you have chosen as instructed on the playcard. You may also select the Quick Pick option which saves you a lot of time and let the computer randomly select the numbers for you. Each playcard contains 5 game panels so that means that you can get to play up to 5 times on each of your playcards. The minimum cost is $1 for 1 game. Of course, you can play up to $5 if you choose the 5-game playcard. Choose the number of drawing that you want to participate in. Seven drawings in advance can be played - all on one ticket. Return your playcard to the retailer and you will get a separate ticket for each processed playcard. Always check your tickets to make sure that the dates and numbers that are printed are correct. That's all there is to it. Now all you have to do is sit back and wait to see if you are the lucky winner! The live TV drawings take place at 11:21 P.M. You can play every day from %:30 A.M. Quick Draw - The next exciting game to play in the New York State Lottery is Quick Draw. There are a variety of ways you can play this game. You are the one to select the amount to play, the odds as well as how much you can win! On Quick Draw you decide how many numbers you wish to play. Then, select up to 10 numbers ranging from 1 through 80. You can wither choose the Quick Pick Option or make sure that you choose the same amount of numbers that you had chosen in the first section. Check off the amount you wish to wager per game and then decide on how many games you wish to play; then after everything is completed hand your playcard back to the Quick Draw retailer. Every four minutes the New York State Lottery's computer randomly picks 20 numbers from the field of 1 through 80. They will then appear on the Quick Draw monitor. You are a winner based on how many of the numbers you match. You will find the Quick Draw game wherever you are having fun whether it is at a restaurant, bowling center, bar or another game center. Terminals stay open from 5:30 A.M. to midnight to accept your wagers. There are nearly 3,000 licensed locations at which you can play Quick Draw ny lotto results.

The actual NC Lottery Today, Exciting North Carolina Lottery Data
Tumblr media
mi lottery Nc Lottery History
To the north Carolina's lotto is some sort of notably fresh lottery. Within fact, this lotto on the internet came into existence merely soon after state legislation building the actual lottery was agreed upon throughout 2005.
mi lottery
This lotto came to be with one function: to make funds for training. It is reflected in the particular official brand of typically the lottery, which is often the "North Carolina Education Lotto. "
According to the actual NC lotto website, completely of lotto proceeds proceed towards buying into the california's education courses. Lottery people who no longer win may find solace from the point of view in which their money is planning to educating the commanders involving tomorrow.
What Is usually the NC Lotto Dollars Being Spent On?
50 percent of the proceeds move in direction of reducing class dimensions rates for young young children, so lecturers can present each child much more personal attention.
40% moves in the direction of school construction as well as maintenance. More schools indicate a lesser amount of crowding for increasing scholar population, and fixes can easily reduce safety hazards and also improve the quality connected with the past or present student's education natural environment.
The remaining 10% associated with the proceeds goes toward college scholarships. These resources will go to Pell Scholarhip students, which are generally students through lower cash flow backgrounds. These scholars could use their scholarship dollars to help pay their own educational costs at any Northern Carolina colleges, no matter if non-public or public.
What Are generally the NC Parte Regulations?
The North Carolina lotto provides two main varieties of lottery.
Instant scratch-offs usually are cards with quick video games that can be enjoyed by damaging away the particular coverings about different parts of the card. The policies of each game change, asking for themes from online games such as tic-tac-toe and crossword vague ideas.
Generally, scratch-offs possess a reasonably high succeed probability nevertheless smaller pay-offs. Lottery images are typically the other type of lotto.
North Carolina has Decide on several, Pick 4, Dollars your five, Powerball, and Ultra Thousands lottery drawings. The particular rules of each one drawing are different, but every single has often the same basic principles.
Offenses for the drawings can certainly be purchased with a lot of retail locations, specially advantage stores like 7-11. In addition there are many online lottery ticketed sellers who buy seat tickets, check results, and take care of winnings payments for their particular people. It is often a good idea in order to check the the repute of a online lottery site ahead of using its services.
Relying on the pulling, NORTH CAROLINA lottery players decide on involving 3 and some quantities, with the available quantity range varying from painting to drawing.
Other specifics to consider are solution price tag (opting to shell out more improves winning potential), drawing particular date, play variety (basically what number of numbers want to match since precisely what order), and the variety of times the chosen statistics will be played. The idea is possible to participate in several drawings with a new one ticket.
Players may watch results on TELEVISION SET or by way of announcements on-line. Lotto winning trades should indicator their priced to protect against others from proclaiming the idea and contact the actual lotto officials through the amount on the ticket. Via there, members usually have got a choice between in the long run payments over several decades or possibly a comparatively smaller swelling sum payment.
While odds of winning a sketching are pretty small (there's a 1 in 195, 249, 054 chance regarding winning the particular Powerball jackpot), the affiliate payouts are significant enough to create instantaneous millionaires.
Past NC Lotto Winners
One North Carolina lotto couple showed anyone the real meaning of suspense any time they reported a $1 million lotto prize a single day before the contract. Nervous about the interest coming from winning, Raleigh Mountain, typically the lucky NC lotto victorious one, stalled for several weeks and secured his plane ticket by camouflaging it with a variety of spots, which include his Bible.
Yet another NORTH CAROLINA lottery winner, Marsha McCain, was able to be able to clear away all involving the girl debts after successful $465.21, 000 dollars. Inside addition to eliminating the woman debts, she had the ability to order land and are still job as a chef.
Becky Ozmun, a convenience retail store owner who sells lotto tickets, won a 12 jackpots from scratch-off entry pass on a period of 15 months. One among her earnings was a $150, 000 prize.
NC Lotto Fraudulence
With its relatively limited history, the NC lotto hasn't seen much lotto ticket fraud.
However, there was a lot of focus placed on often the occurrence of lottery ticketed jackpots among lottery stores. Right now there are multiple store keepers just like Becky Ozmun who have have earned an earlier mentioned average amount of NORTH CAROLINA lottery money.
The Vermont lottery started tracking regardless of whether winners are involved within lottery solution retail inside 2008.
For the moment, while succeeding rates amid retailers may well seem disproportionate, lotto officers have so far viewed no concrete evidence connected with fraudulence. NC lottery gamers should directly verify lotto leads to avoid being swindled by simply retailers who can easily claim the ticket is actually a loser and then after cash it throughout.
Upper Carolina Lottery Trivia
4. Lottery wins can often be cause of depression. N . Carolina has a lotto policy requiring that lotto winnings first go to paying off a winner's residual debts. For example of this, hundreds of thousands associated with NC lottery dollars have become towards paying off baby assist.
* Lottery profits, similar to financial transactions, tend to be at the mercy of taxes.
* Playslips from their states cannot always be used in New york.
Precisely what if there was any strategy you can actually use to earn the NORTH CAROLINA lottery?
My spouse and i know it seems cynical, but there is some sort of method designed that will be proven to be a lot more effective at that time guessing figures yourself.

The image above is the chart mapping the age of each number recently selected in the uk lotto for this past Saturday December 1st.
Tumblr media
This image is the set of numbers that char-rnn neural network chose (with some assistance from me) for tomorrow’s draw Wednesday, December 5th.
The neural network script guessed two numbers right in the Saturday draw, which means we get a “lucky dip!”.  Last time that happened the “lucky dip!” won £25.  The “lucky dip!” is a random number generated by the lotto.  Seems they have a bit of an edge if you ask me.
The above crashing fowl shaped figure strikes me as on track for an extra match or two.  Three maybe four next time, as the AI brain is fed more numbers to compare with.  I am also working toward a different script but having trouble getting certain things to play properly with my Mac OS.  I’ll let you all know if I get that cracking over the holidays. In the meantime play  13, 16, 30, 32, 37, 47 and that goose above us will lay a golden egg.  Right?  BTW... these images are NOT pornographic!

One that actually really pissed me off today.
Explanation first: I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but here we have a bunch different lottery draws that each happen about three times a week. Sometimes they overlap but generally they're all on slightly different schedules to eachother. I have never played the lottery, and I don't intend to, and as such I don't know these schedules off the top of my head.
In order to sell a ticket, on my monitor I have to select which lottery draw the customer wants, then which day. (Then which numbers they want, or if they just want random numbers. The latter is known as a lucky dip.)
So a customer comes to my register and asks for a "lucky dip on the lottery for tomorrow". Since he didn't specify which draw he wanted, I went for the default, the Lotto, before noticing that it wasn't on tomorrow. So, naturally, I ask the guy which draw he wants.
He's like, "a lucky dip ...for the lottery. Tomorrow."
I'm like ..... "Yeah I thought you meant the Lotto but there isn't one tomorrow. Did you maybe want Hotpicks, or Euromillions, or something else?"
He goes "for tomorrow. The Euromillions?" As if I'm being completely stupid.
I get him his ticket and before I can say thankyou and goodbye or whatever he just tuts and sighs like I've been a massive inconvenience, turns away and walks out
Like wow, sorry I don't pay close attention to a lottery schedule I have no interest in whatsoever. Just tell me what you bloody want in the first place and this whole thing would be over a lot quicker.

Bad Day at Black Rock
Sam Winchester x Reader
3000 Words
This is a rewrite of the episode, Bad Day at Black Rock. It is loosely based off the episode, where I have taken quite a few liberties. This is written for @wi-deangirl77 and her Favorite Episode writing challenge. The chosen gif and quote are both highlighted in the story.
Tumblr media
The Supernatural world surrounded you. Monsters and hunters. Legends and artifacts. They were your life, and you had known nothing else since you could walk. There had been times you had wished for more. A simple life, going to high school, finding a boyfriend and a normal job. But you enjoyed what you did, even if many people didn’t understand.
You weren’t a hunter, not even close. Your Dad had been a hunter, but more than that, he had been a collector of ancient artifacts. Artifacts hundreds of years old. Items that could kill a person with just one touch, or bring a person unmeasurable wealth. That was what you were interested in. Not the killing of the monsters, but the rare, valuable items that people would seek for a hefty price.
Now, ten years after your Father’s death, you had taken the name he had made for himself, and made an even bigger business with it. Sought out by people and monsters alike, it kept you on your toes, traveling back and forth across multiple continents, hardly ever making it back to your home, located in the upscale neighborhood of Queen, New York.
Another job, this one much closer to town. A lucky talisman, one told to bring great fortune to whoever held it, before turning to horrible luck. Your client, a wealthy man in Egypt had offered a seven figure number if you brought it to him by tomorrow evening. You hadn’t dared mention the bad luck turned to death factor, you hadn’t figured it was your place.
Hiring a couple of goons was easy enough. Simple humans who would do anything for a couple of bucks. It seemed simple enough, break into a forgotten storage unit, and bring back the box, unopened. But nothing in the Supernatural world was ever simple. The storage unit turned out to belong to the Winchesters, a notorious hunting family that you had only heard about. Guarded profusely by sigils and booby traps, your men had gotten hurt, but had grabbed the item nonetheless.
But instead of turning it over to you as instructed, they had kept it for themselves, opening the box and touching the blasted rabbit’s foot even though you had specifically told them not too. Frustrated, you had tossed together a quick overnight bag, climbing into your porsche, speeding the hour long drive towards that sleepy little town, knowing that you would have to get your hands dirty in order to meet your client’s deadline.
Sam’s POV
“What is that thing?” Dean asked me as we left that filthy apartment building behind us. Glancing down to where the item was clutched tightly in my hand, slowly relaxing my muscles to peer down at the fluffy white rabbit’s foot.
“I think it’s a rabbit’s foot,” I muttered. “Why the hell would someone steal a rabbit’s foot?”
“Beat’s me,” Dean grumbled as we climbed into the Impala. “All I know is my gun never freezes like that. Maybe it’s some sort of good luck charm.”
“Then why would it be locked in a spelled box?” I wondered out loud. “Why would Dad have it so covered in spells that it would be undetectable by most people.”
“I have no clue,” Dean mumbled, keeping his eyes, “But I’m starving. “Let’s get some food, and we’ll call Bobby. He’ll probably know what to do.”
After Dean made a quick stop at the gas station, we pulled into the parking lot of the local Biggerson’s. It was literally one of Dean’s favorite places to eat, especially on free pie days. As I sat next to Dean, reluctantly scratching the lotto tickets he kept handing me, he was on the phone with Bobby. “Yeah Bobby, it was this fluffy white rabbit’s foot…..Yeah, it was in a box.”
I scratched the next ticket, handing them to Dean, listening to his side of the conversation. As Dean sat there, listening intently, I climbed out of the car, needing to stretch my legs. My mind wandering, I noticed something in the weeds. Leaning down, I picked up the shiny Rolex, holding it out to Dean who was out of the Impala, still on the phone with Bobby. Giving me a thumbs up, he held out the scratch tickets, a huge smile on his face.
Shaking my head, I walked back to the Impala just as Dean hung up the phone. “So, what’s the verdict?”
“Bobby says that whoever’s holding the rabbit’s foot has the best of luck. And we’re talking finding money everywhere, everything goes your way,” Dean started explaining, holding up the scratch tickets. “Like this. Sammy, we’ve one 75,000 dollars!”
“What’s the catch?” I asked him, knowing there had to be. There had to be a reason this fluffy talisman had been locked up.
Dean frowned, letting me know my gut was right. “Well, as soon as the person loses it, their luck turns south. And we’re not just talking black cat crossing your path. We’re talking horrible luck until it kills you.”
Wrinkling my nose, I squeezed the foot. “Then I won’t lose it!”
With that assurance, Dean and I headed straight into Biggerson’s, right up to the host who was looking at us rather strangely. “Table for two,” I told him right before balloons started falling down, and he started clapping.
“Congratulations!” He exclaimed, holding up a huge sign. “You’re our 1,000 guest!”
Dean seemed caught up in the celebration, but I just made sure to hold on to the Talisman, waiting until we were finally seated at our table. “Wow, that’s the best,” Dean mumbled, his mouth full of pie. “We can have all the pie we want now, Sammy.”
Your POV
Walking into that apartment, you could immediately tell something was wrong. It took only a couple of minutes to find out my instinct had been right. One man was dead, the other completely distraught. The rabbit’s foot taken by a couple of men, leaving my deadline looming dangerously close. This client was not a man you wanted to get on the wrong side of.
After spending ten minutes with the distraught goon you had hired, you finally found out who the men were. Of course it was the Winchesters, you muttered to yourself, brushing your clothes free of dust before climbing into your car. You knew exactly where to find these Winchester’s. You just hoped you were clever enough to get away with it before they caught on to your little game.
Parking in the restaurant’s full lot, you reached into your backseat, pulling out your small little case you kept for emergencies. Inside were only the essentials. Makeup and colored contacts. A couple of wigs. Some name tags. Things that would get you in and out unnoticed.
Changing your h/c for a blonde wig, you added some red lipstick, a little blush to your cheeks. Subtle but enough to make you look like a different person. Taking a deep breath, you waited until the back door opened, slipping inside unnoticed.
The place was hopping, waitresses rushing back and forth. No one noticed when you picked up a tray, placing a coffee pot on it. With your eyes downcast, you made your way through the restaurant, unobtrusively looking for the two men who had the rabbit’s foot. You had searched them almost six months ago, needing to know as much about them as possible. Knowing that someday you would no doubt run into them. Your quick thinking had paid off, and know you easily recognized the two men sitting in one of the booths, Dean stuffing his face full of pie. It was the other man, with his shaggy mahogany hair, who was staring down at his laptop that you were interested in. He was handsome in his picture, his hazel eyes mesmerizing. Even from this distance, you could feel yourself being drawn to him. His shoulders were hunched, but you could see how broad they were, how strong. His legs were long enough he had to trouble fitting in the small booth. He was the most handsome man you had ever laid eyes on, but he wasn’t in your radar. Hunters were off limits, or that’s what you had always told yourself.
His hand was in his coat pocket, rustling with something inside, giving away where the location of the rabbit’s was. Taking a towel from the bus boy, you made your way to their table, relieved to see that Sam was drinking coffee. “Refill?” you asked him, pulling his attention from the laptop. His eyes were even more vibrant in real life, drawing you in, making you want to forget all about this rabbit foot. To actually get to know someone that wasn’t just another job. You knew if you had the chance, you could be happy with Sam, and you hadn’t even spoken a word to him.
“Yeah, that would be great,” he agreed, as you leaned forward, your arm brushing his shoulder. The touch alone made you blush slightly, a smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. Your hand shook as you lifted the coffee pot, spilling the coffee over the table.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” you exclaimed, having no problem acting the silly girl with a crush around him. “Here, let me!” Taking the towel, you patted down his side and thigh, not missing the clench of the muscle underneath your hand before you slipped your hand inside his coat pocket, wrapping the towel around the rabbit’s foot. Wishing you didn’t have to do this to Sam, you stepped back, smiling down at him. You knew what this meant, that you were literally signing his death warrant, but if it wasn’t his, it would be yours. Giving him one more half hearted smile, you walked away, glancing back to see both men watching you walk away.
Tumblr media
As soon as you were outside, you ripped the wig off, tossing it in the dumpster before climbing in your car. Feeling as if you had left your heart behind.
Sam’s POV
The moment the waitress had offered me more coffee, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her. She was absolutely stunning, with her beautiful e/c and the smile tugging at her lips. I didn’t even notice at first when she spilled the coffee, but feeling her arm brush against me, I wanted to grab her hand and pull her into the seat with me. To learn everything I could about her.
It wasn’t until I watched her walk away that I realized she had taken something very important from me. The rabbit’s foot. “Dean, it’s gone!” I exclaimed, pulling my pockets out, finding nothing but lint. “The rabbit foot, it’s gone!”
“What..it must have been the waitress!” Dean muttered, both of us standing up and racing outside. As Dean continued forward, I felt myself slipping, falling straight down, scraping my knees and hands as I went.
Straightening back up, I turned to see Dean rolling his eyes. “I see the bad luck is starting. We need to get that back. And fast!”
I kept my hands to myself, not wanting to cause chaos in the Impala as Dean drove down the street, his jaw clenched. “This is not good,” he muttered, mainly to himself. Pulling into the first motel parking lot he came across, he parked, racing inside without another word. It was only minutes later he was back, a key in his hand, already on the phone with Bobby. Standing there nervously, I waited for Dean to finish the conversation, rubbing my foot along the grate on the floor. As he went to hang up, I felt my shoe slip off, falling down into the gutter, where I couldn’t reach it. “What’s wrong now?” He asked, as I stood there, feeling horrible. Everything that could go wrong was, and I had no idea how to handle it.
“I lost my shoe,” I mumbled, my lip pouting.
“That’s why you’re going to stay here,” he insisted, opening the door to our room. Stepping inside, he placed a chair in the middle, pointing to it. “You’ll sit in that chair, and you won’t touch anything. I’ll go find that blonde witch, who Bobby named as Y/N, and get the rabbit’s foot back.”
Without another word, he left, and I sat down in the chair, my nose itching but I refused to touch it.
Your POV
Feeling victorious, you placed the rabbit’s foot down on your counter, pulling your phone out to text your client. Once that was done, you took one of your favorite bottles of wine, planning on celebrating a little early.
Popping the cork, you almost missed the sound of your front door opening. Leaning down, you reached into your wine cabinet for your hidden gun when you heard Dean’s voice. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” he called out, and you reluctantly straightened.
“Dean, please,” you tried pleading with him. “If I don’t get this to my client, I’m going to die.”
He didn’t seem touched by your words. “Well, if I don’t get it back, then Sam’s going to die. And I care more about Sam then I do you.”
Your gaze must have shown were the rabbit’s foot was, because Dean lunged for it just as you did. His long limbs reached it before you could, holding it up victouriously. “Sorry sweetheart. I know Sam seemed to like you, but right now all I’m worried about is him staying safe.”
“Wait, let me come with you,” You pleaded, surprising both of you. “I can’t stay here. My client will send his bodyguards to kill me.”
Dean sighed, rubbing his hand through his hair, trying to decide if I was playing with him. “Fine. But if you even try to touch the foot, you’ll…”
He didn’t need to finish. “I know. And I want you to take it to Sam. I don’t want his luck to turn bad. Believe it or not, I do care if he survives.”
“Then let’s get going! I don’t want him on his own any longer than necessary. Who knows what could have happened already.”
Riding in the Impala with Dean was full of plenty of awkward silence. You sat there nervously, your hands clenched in your lap, never once trying to reach over and take the talisman from Dean. It seemed like he started to believe you halfway through the ride, finally turning to you, engaging you in conversation. “So, you like to sell cursed objects?”
“No, I don’t like to sell cursed objects,” you objected. “I procure rare and unique objects, selling them to the highest bidder.”
“Why?” He asked simply.
“Because I like the items. I like the beauty of them. The history. I also like the money I make,” you started explaining. “My dad, he was a hunter and a trader. I didn’t like the guns, or the deaths, so I turned to this aspect of it.”
“So, maybe you aren’t so bad after all,” he chuckled.
By this time he was pulling up to a run down motel where you could immediately see something was going on in one of the rooms. The curtain was ripped down, a man standing there with a gun in his hands. “Dean, the room!” you exclaimed, racing out of the car, heading towards the room where you knew Sam had to be. With his long legs, Dean beat you to the door, pushing it open, stopping in the doorway.     Running into his back, you peered around him to see Sam tied up, blood pouring from his nose.
“What’s she doing here?” Sam asked, seeing you behind his brother.
“She switched sides,” Dean answered. “Now how about you guys let go of my brother?”
“I don’t think so,” the one man muttered, holding a gun. “This is fate, I was brought here to kill Sam Winchester.”
“Not today. Because I’m holding the lucky charm,” Dean told them, picking up a pen from the table, throwing it straight in front of him, both of you watching in amazement as it stuck in the gun’s barrel.
“Did you see that?” Dean exclaimed. “I’m Batman!”
“Yeah, you’re Batman,” Sam answered sarcastically as you threw a remote, hitting the other man in the head, knocking him unconscious as Dean knocked the other one out.
Racing over, you untied Sam, gently cupping his cheek. “Are you okay?” you asked him, searching his face.
“Yeah,” he answered, his gaze connecting with yours. “But why did you come back?”
“I couldn’t be the reason for your Death. I know we don’t really know each other, but…”
“I felt it to,” he answered.
“I hate to break up this touching scene, but Bobby told me of a way to get rid of this Rabbit’s foot, and break the curse. Shall we?”
Sam looked your way, and you nodded. “Maybe afterwards, I can take you out for dinner? Actually have a chance to get to know each other.”
“I’d like that,” you answered, reaching for and grasping his hand in yours. “But first, let’s break this string of bad luck.”
The two of you began walking towards the door, when you felt Sam start to drag you down. Turning in time to see his foot tangled up in the bedspread, his large frame heading straight for the floor, taking you with him. He rolled, taking the brunt of your fall, with you landing on top of him. Your body was completely on top of him, both of you chuckling softly. “Maybe we let Dean complete the ritual, you and I stay here where we can’t get into as much trouble?”
“That sounds like a better plan,” you agreed, not wanting to move.

The Truth Behind Lotto Secrets
Tumblr media
A lot of people feel that they have a greater chance of winning the lottery because they are more observant than others. This means they are more observant of the way the lottery games work and how to play them better than others. Many people feel that by being observant that they can influence the lottery. They can look at past winning numbers and try to figure out what patterns the winners used to come up with their numbers. By being more observant, it is supposed that you have a better chance of winning the lottery.
There are a lot of websites that offer information and statistics on how many people have won the lottery and how much they have won. One website that provides this kind of information is Lotto Spectrum. They provide statistics based on much past lottery draws. They are able to find patterns and trends as to why certain numbers come up more often than others. It is believed by many that by studying these trends and patterns, you can gain an edge over other lottery players and possibly win the lottery.
By studying the trends and going after the lotto tickets that suit your personality and lifestyle, you can actually increase your odds of winning the lottery more than what you think. Do not just rely on how many lotto winners have been in your neighborhood. Do not just rely on the lotto results when picking lottery numbers. Study the lottery and find the patterns that will help you win the lottery.
Lottery players who have been successful in the past are not necessarily the winners of the game today. It is more important to study how the lottery works and how to be successful in it. Some people may have a good chance of winning the jackpot today but do not think that they have a big possibility of winning the lottery tomorrow. There is no such thing as a lucky person. All individuals have their own unique luck and ability to achieve specific goals within a certain span of time.
Study the habits of successful lottery players. Learn from their methods and approaches on how they increase their chances of winning the lottery. Observe how they prepare and analyze numbers that are drawn.
There are certain numbers that attract more luck to people than others. For example, the number 13 has always been the lucky numbers for those who have won the lottery. The reason why people pick these numbers is because they believe that this number will bring them great success. Therefore, if you want to become a winner, you have to think like these people.
Always carry your lottery strategy wherever you go. Use it in your business, in your family, and anywhere you go. This is one way of ensuring that you have a better chance of winning the lottery. Do not rely or depend on luck. It is up to you to choose numbers that will make you win the lottery.
Analyze all information about the lottery games. Learn from the strategies and tactics of those who have successfully won the lotto. You can use these techniques on your own. However, it is important to remember that you do not become a lottery genius just by reading books and articles.
Do not get too attached to a particular lotto program or system. There are some programs that offer promising results but are scams. Some people may find these systems or software very appealing, however, when it comes to winning, these systems are useless. Only a lottery winning system that really works and will lead to winning must be adopted and followed.
Playing the lottery can be an exciting and rewarding experience. If you are thinking of playing the lotto, then you have to learn as much as you can about the lottery game. The knowledge and skills that you can gain from books and articles are useless if you do not adopt a system or method that will help you win the lottery. So do not think that a simple formula can answer your question "How to Win the Lotto?"
