Fun fact: I used to think all icing was “spicy” until I turned 21 and I was eating cake and I said to my friends “I love eating birthday cake even though it really hurts” and they all told me, with utmost confusion and mild horror, that no, cake frosting is *not* supposed to "hurt", because it is not “spicy”.

I just assumed, for two decades, everyone who ate birthday cakes and cupcakes and frosted cookies were all experiencing the pins-and-needles feeling on the tongue. I assumed we ALL go completely numb in our throat, with our eyes watering, after eating a delicious slice of cake. I thought, "ah, this is why people only eat birthday cake once a year, because it hurts when you eat it."

Turns out... I am just allergic. 🍰
