LUCIO LONTOC // 27 // WITCH
❝ What about us? What about all the times you said you had the answers? What about all the broken happy ever afters?❞
_______________________________________________________________________
BIOGRAPHY
It was nothing but a folk tale; Kulam, a widely respected and ancient folk magic practiced in the Philippines centuries ago, and for the Lontocs, nothing but a story about things that went thump in the night. Little Lucio and Lucia Lontoc never knew Witchcraft, and their parents – strong, devoted Catholics who forced their children to read the bible and wear nice clothes to mass on Sundays – called it satanic. To them, magic was fictional, and miracles only happened through the grace of their God and obsessive praying to an unseen deity. The Lontoc twins were aggressively force-fed their religion, unjust rules, and their odd desire for persecution – and it only served to brew resentment in their hearts. But behind the ever-so-quiet, shut doors of Lucio and Lucia’s room, something was brewing, something bigger and greater than Reyna and Jerome Lontoc could’ve ever predicted.
An odd mix of science and the occult, genetic and seemingly mystical. Twins, fraternal or other, had been unheard of in Reyna’s family in over hundreds of years, right along the time her ancestors converted to Catholicism to survive persecution and the time the last twin in their bloodline married a human. Their magic had diluted as their blood was tainted, but when Lucio and Lucia were born, something awoke in them.
At first it seemed like a simple case of teen misbehavior, but even if Lucio and Lucia could be nothing more than complete opposites (Lucia the ever so rebellious, rule breaking of the two and Lucio, the boy who always followed the rules), the first signs began in the week of their 16th birthday, when they stumbled upon an old, disheveled, and dusty book they found in their attic when their parents were away with their prayer group at the church a few blocks from their home. But what had started as a joke and simple curiosity evolved into something bigger than they could control on their own, beyond the ability to understand what was written on the pages of a book in a language they had never been taught, and as Lucio and Lucia’s seemingly instinctual power began to grow, the less inconspicuous they became.
Their father found them one evening, sitting on the ground of Lucia’s room on a night Jerome was supposed to be gone, with the book open on their knees, engaging in what seemed like something ritualistic, and it was the day Jerome Lontoc lost it, and lost his children. He blamed it on Lucia, for “corrupting” her brother, and Lucio had only shoved them both under the bus when he said he was the one who instigated it. It set him off, but Jerome didn’t hit them like he usually would’ve, no, his religious instinct drove him to something much worse, something that left a scar in Lucio’s soul that he couldn’t shake off. With the idea that his children were engaging in something Satanic (and after he tossed the book into the fireplace), he forced them to go through the ritual act of exorcism, kept in a church in the middle of nowhere for days upon days, because no matter how hard the priest tried, nothing ever changed, and nothing would ever change.
He still remembers that moment though, when the double wooden doors of the church opened, and Augustin Crowe saved them from their misery. He introduced himself as a witch, took them in, and taught them everything they knew, and during the years they trained with Augustin, Lucio and Lucia were more inseparable than ever, grateful that their mentor had removed them from their abusive household and had taken them away without a hint of their whereabouts. In many ways, Augustin became the father they never had, nurturing and promising; Lucio learned he was prolific with potions, just as he was prolific with science at the school he attended, and he had never been happier – so the day Augustin disappeared from their lives without a word, Lucio felt that same resentment he had felt for his father return. Lucio and his sister were left to fend on their own.
They took up menial jobs for menial people; waiting tables at cafes, bartending at bougie bars, things that seemed to lead them nowhere and paid very little, and frustrated with the way their life was headed, they decided to start their own business, using their eclectic knowledge and eccentric looks to lure and fool people into believing they could talk to the dead. They would visit old houses, research information on the people who owned the properties, and made good money in their pretend job, travelling around the U.S and visiting places their parents would’ve never dreamed of showing them.
Until Augustin returned, after the hunt for witches became almost unescapable, and when Lucia decided she wanted to leave with the man who had left them behind, Lucio refused, vile resentment in his heart, and the next morning Lucia was gone and Lucio was on his own. He considered it an act of rebellion and decided it felt good to turn his back on an authority figure for the first time, and even though Lucio had come out of his shell long before he and Lucia were separated, he thirsted for more.
And around that time, sitting in a bar where witches lurked in every corner, he met two women: Thierry, a beautiful, cunning witch who wanted immortality more than he wanted his freedom, and Aija, perhaps one of the brightest witches he’d ever known. His instinct for rebellion and the desire to prove he could survive without Augustine’s guidance led him to follow Thierry in her search for immortality, and with Aija and Lucio’s intelligence and knick for potion making, soon enough, it became a reality. He would never tell anyone he had a hand in helping Thierry build a coven of immortal witches; he knew it was frowned upon, Necromancy – it was black magic, the type no one should ever mess with. Just like he would never tell anyone it wasn’t only the desire for insurrection that drove him on this quest, but that he had also fallen for the same witch he had granted the wish to live forever.
But even if he had found separation from his sister (which began to take a toll on him), and Augustine, he had found Thierry as a rightful companion, almost as eccentric as he was, always had something smart to say, so when the letter came in the mail – a family of original witches granting Thierry and her coven asylum even if they disproved of immortals – it came to no surprise that Lucio followed, not only knowing he’d be safe from the dangerous uprising of witch hunters – since he had refused immortality when Thierry offered it in return – but hoping that he’d find his sister again. Their magic was always stronger together.
______________________________________________PERSONALITY/TRAITS
He had always been the good kid, always a rule follower, always the kid their parents were proud of, the opposite of his outgoing sister, who was always eager to break the rules. It was never truly who he was though, not on the inside, not when he desired to be and do everything his parents disapproved of. It was to no surprise that after he escaped his precarious situation at home, Lucio became an unorthodox, free spirit, flamboyant witch who was always labeled as interesting and peculiar. He experienced sexual freedom and life outside religion. Regardless of his outlandish behavior however, Lucio is well studied and sophisticated, molding himself into the person he desired to be and the person his parents never allowed him to become, but has always had trouble letting go of his co-dependency. While he might love fiercely and practice loyalty even harder, his slavish trust on people he attaches himself to sometimes borders on unhealthy interdependence, and allows people to walk all over him once they gain his trust. However, he holds grudges, big ones, and it’s hard for him to let them go, regardless of how many times a person can apologize and has a tendency to take things with a heavy heart.

@luciolontoc:
I think I’ve fallen sick, darling… I’ll be alright. I just – need to find a way to dull the symptoms while we find a way to help everyone else.
[ f2f/private ]
Let’s get you at least in bed and with fluids. This has been presenting itself differently with all the witches, but let’s not have you knocked out by symptoms we know how to fight. I have a potion that was supposed to fortify the humans and make them more resilient. It could potentially help with symptoms, clear your head some.

I have a couple of announcements for you all, so listen up. First order of business is to inform you of the decision to move the humans into their own room so the Immortals will have easier and by far cleaner access to their life sustenance. They’ll share a room with individual beds and will be allowed to walk around the manor only if they are accompanied by a witch or werewolf. Fear not for their capabilities of escape, for Lucio Lontoc has designed bracelets that are impossible for them remove and will keep them within the wards.
Second, my sister and I would like to reward the werewolves for their strength, bravery, and resilience through all perils and challenges that they’ve been presented with since their arrival to our home. Tomorrow, we will be opening up the pool behind the garden for the full day. The staff will be providing food and drinks for you to utilize at your leisure. I suggest everyone contact one of the staff for a bathing suit if you do not have one of your own. That is all.

[ PRIVATE F2F ] @vesperlinwood , @noahnicolai
I think this goes without saying, nearly everyone in the manor has been bewitched. The wolves are running around spewing their tragedies onto the world and I just saw Lucio Lontoc almost take a tumble down the stairs as he searched for who I assume is his missing sister. Us, and Cait Devereuax who I refuse to be on speaking terms with anymore, seem to be one of the few unaffected by whatever the vampires have cooked up.

I have a proposition that I think would benefit you just as much as it would benefit me. I’m the brains and beauty behind the operation, of course, and you have the connection to the people that can put this plan in motion, which makes you the brawn. What do you say? / @luciolontoc

BLOODLINE, A RECAP brought to your admins
BLOODLINE’S POLITICAL STORY is headlined by three major witch covens. The Devereauxs, the Blacks, and Thierry’s Immortal Coven You should give each of their original coven leaders biographies a read to orient you in the politics of the world:
Celestina Black
Brigid Devereaux
Thierry Astor
Celestina Black has three children, two of which are active participants int he games current politics; Aemilia and Aurora. Aemilia was the well disciplined child, the Black who took leadership seriously and wanted to prove her value as a woman in their patriarchal family. Aurora was the baby, the free spirit who always felt rejected by their father.
Brigid Devereaux has only one daughter. Victoria. Victoria was trained heavily under her mother’s thumb, in a fairly intense and abusive upbringing. She’s incredibly physical and dedicated but unlike her mother, much more compassionate and levelheaded (something that took some time and getting out from under Brigid’s thumb to find out.)
Thierry’s Magic was adapted with the help of a partner, a very smart, inventive holistic witch Lucio Lontoc. HOWEVER to this day no one knows of Lucio’s involvement. Thierry has never told anyone who helped her create immortal magic.
During the early part of the game, the wolf pack hailing from the Devereaux Compound in Massachusetts was lead by Alpha Derrick Falco (you do not need to read Derrick’s bio.) Derrick’s beta was Elias Irving, the son of the previous Alpha who Derrick had appointed to honor the older Alpha’s legacy.
The wolf pack as it originally stod in the game was made almost entirely of new wolves. Stragglers that had been picked up along the way, and the freshly turned. This included Ana who remains with the pack still and several other characters who have since left the game. Pre-existing members of the Devereaux pack didn’t really arrive until a bit later.
At the start of the game, Victoria Devereaux and Aurora Black were entered per their mother’s orders into an arranged marriage with the goal of demonstrating the political alliance between their families. At first they DID NOT get along. But they quickly realized that they were each holding back a lot of trauma, pressure, and insecurity that brought them closer.
Aurora was also hiding a secret; her penchant for clairvoyant dark magic. Since the game began, Aurora’s power has slowly been growing and more people are aware that she can do it. She can visit memories and astral project. Her sister Ameilia can visit people’s minds and witness their fears.
Here are some important conflicts and plot points as relatively in order as I can get them that have happened since the game started that have directed effected the politics or dynamics:
Aurora Black and Thierry Astor slept together, something the Black family and Victoria did not react kindly to.
It was discovered that a wolf named Charlie was actually secretly a human. She was imprisoned. Victoria, seeing that the pack cared for Charlie was afraid that executing her would create a lack of trust between the pack and her family’s leadership so she went over her mother’s head to convince the council to spare and turn Charlie instead. In order for Charlie to be turned, they needed a bonded wolf to do it safely. Derrick and Victoria (who had always bene close allies) decided to bond to one another so that he could safely turn Charlie and because they both cared deeply about the survival of the pack and saw eye to eye. (Charlie is no longer in the game but Derrick and Victoria’s alliance was a massive political shift as well as Victoria’s decision to involve Aurora in going above their parents head to get the council votes. It was the first instance of the younger generation of leaders working against their parents and deeply frustrated Aemilia Black.
Ericka an immortal witch who had previously been tortured and held captive by wolves years ago, accused Presley a super innocent pop start turned wolf who wouldn’t hurt a fly of attacking her. Presley was jailed until an answer was found but it was ultimately proven by Aurora Black’s magic that Erick had been having an intense ptsd related episode and had not in fact been attacked, thus revealing Aurora’s Black magic on a more public scale and absolving Presley.
Aemilia locked Aurora in her room under the guise that it was for protection as a method of controlling her.
Victoria and Ana often struggled to see eye to eye regarding witches and wolves relationships.
Aemilia and Thierry stayed in a constant state of rivalry after Thierry slept with Aurora but all of Thierry’s theatrics were intended to be distractions to keep the other witch families from realizing that she was trying to continue enhancing immortal magic.
Brigid arrived and resumed her intense and violent training with Victoria. This started one night in the rain where she brutalized her and Aurora found out and ended when she tried to use Aurora as a means of teaching Victoria emotional control. Instead, Victoria snapped and nearly killed her mother, stopped by Derrick. BUT the attack lead to the Blacks and Aurora beginning to attempt to overthrow Brigid. It also solidified Victoria and Aurora’s deep care for one another on a public scale.
A group of Devereaux wolves arrived including Beta Elias and his gang of friends: Eden, Kyle, and Ronan. All of them were pretty anti-witch and secretly plotting to overthrow the pack leadership and the Devereauxs. Notorious for antagonizing new wolves and wolves they deemed weaker than them they even started small “fight club” in the woods. Their primary target was Presley (you should read Presley’s bio for more background on the stones and the Devereaux Compound attack). Eventually Eden came to care about Presley, they bonded over their shared trauma and the loss of their families at the attack on the Devereaux Compound and became an item, thus starting Eden on the path of no longer wanting to support Elias.
Elisa eventually called for a new alpha vote and LOST. As such, Derrick was re-appointed Alpha and given the chance to appoint a new Beta. He chose Presley.
Around the same time, the Pack had arrivals from the Washington Branch of the Devereaux Compound. [ You should read Reed Jackson, Noah Niccolai and Ellery Jackson’s bios in that order for important backstory regarding the Jacksons, the Devereauxs, and other soon to be relevant drama. Noah and Reed were not among those arrivals. Lucas Jackson and Ellery were.]
Pissed about the Alpha vote, Elias and Kyle acted on their over throw pla. They Started a fire in the wolf quarters, burning them and the barn to the ground. As the fire was blazing, they used it as a distraction to murder Derrick. Victoria felt Derrick die and knew something was wrong but before she could interfere, she was attacked by Elias. Being that she’s one of the strongest original witches of all time, Elias didn’t stand a chance. Victoria killed him quickly and without holding back. She then ran to her mother to tell Brigid about what had happened but Brigid LOST IT. Because Brigid knew that killing someone would trigger victoria’s secret werewolf gene. Brigid lost it, dragged Victoria away, beat her within an inch of her life and nearly killed her. As soon as Ellery found out what had happened, she grabbed Aurora and ran to Victoria’s rescue just in time. She was stopped only seconds before murdering Brigid by Aemilia Black.
The Blacks finally fully overthrew Brigid as coven leader, locking her up in the cells and replacing her with Victoria. Celestina was NOT thrilled about letting a hybrid witch/wolf be coven leader but lost the vote. She did however try to call off the wedding between Victoria and Aurora. But when Aurora insisted on still marrying Victoria, Celestina kicked her out of the Black coven for good. (Additionaly, Ellery finally filled Victoria in on EVERYTHING and who her real father was and the fact that they were siblings.) In essence Victoria went from heir of the Devereauxs to A wolf, coven leader, and inheriting a whole family all in one day.
The pack rallied together to vote Victoira in as the Alpha to replace Derrick. She appointed Eden as her Beta, seeing Eden as someone who understood what the pack needed and wanted and who could offer her other perspectives as someone from a powerful wolf family.
Around that time, Aemilia Black had slowly begun to come around to Presley. She saw Presley as dutiful, dedicated, and useful and after they got closer she asked Presley to bond with her.
One night about a month later, a body showed up at the door of the Compound. The body was a very sick and mangled Noah Niccolai. They quickly realized Noah had not in fact been killed but held captive by the government this whole time, having had her bond to Ellery severed.
Meanwhile, while grieving the loss of Derrick, Presley and Eden were abducted on sentry duty. The Manor went into uproar trying to figure out how or where they had went. Aemilia Black could feel Presley being tortured and that was all they had to go on.
Victoria planned a rescue mission that was voluntary. All wolves participated. They went together and found Eden and Presley being held by some back woods hunters where Presley had been brutally tortured to try and get Eden to give information on the witches. Neither of them had cracked.
During the rescue mission the wolves found a wolf in wolf form chained in a cage by the hunters, stuck in wolf form. They brought the wolf back with him and when the drug keeping him stuck that way wore off, they learned it was Cash Stone, Presley’s brother who everyone thought was dead.
Victoria and Aurora were married in a small, quiet private ceremony but thrown a surprise reception by their loved ones when the rest of the manor found out about it. Once they were married, Victoria bonded to Aurora. The bond and Victoria’s hybrid nature make her the most powerful person in the manor.
During the rescue mission for Presley and Eden, Aemilia went to Noah and Ellery. She wanted to try and restore Noah’s lost magic so that Ellery and Noah could restore their bond and help with the rescue. They were unsuccessful.
What aemilia did not know is that she caught a magical virus from Noah. later, when she performed Victoria and Aurora’s marriage ceremony, she gave said virus to Aurora. After the wedding in a strange enemies to lovers flirty banter way, thierry and Aemilia slept together. When Aemilia woke terribly sick, she accused Thierry of trying to kill her and locked Thierry in a cell. It was revealed a few days later that Thierry was also sick and thus not the culprit.
All of the witches slowly fell sick to a magic virus that they later figured out was being spread through performing magic. (wildly enough we planned this pre-covid lmao) Any time a host did magic with someone else without realizing they were carrying the poison they gave it to them. All of the witches fell sick and eventually it was discovered by Peyton and Ericka who just happened to be getting freaky that wolf blood was the cure. The wolves quickly came together and cured the witches.
HOWEVER the witch virus killed Augustin Crow (the holistic coven leader), Devon Vaus, and Mika Iwata. (Mika was actually killed by Thierry but Aemilia helped her cover it up).
The witches all realized that this whole thing had been a set up. Noah arriving at their door as a biological attack. She had been the catalyst for the virus. She was cured and her magic returned. She and Ellery are now bonded again. Making them the current third bonded pair in the game. (Not including Victoria and Derrick cuz he’s dead).
LASTLY, very recently Eden went missing on sentry and was later found dead, drained of blood. (This wasn’t in the plan but the player left so here we are). Everyone is grieving currently as she was very close to the pack, Especially Presley. Victoria secretly appointed Ellery as Beta in the interim but no one knows that yet. Victoria proposed putting the entire manor on permanent lockdown, no one in or out until they get the answer. The residents of the manor will soon find out that it was the vampires who are arriving soon. When the vampires arrive, the lockdown spell will be broken and that’s when new characters will be free to arrive.
Other characters you should know about
Ana: Reluctant solider but a good fighter, has been here since day one and has SEEN SOME SHIT and lost some people. Lucas: Ellery’s and Victoria’s brother, Reed’s adopted son. A foster kid with some anger issues who accidentally killed his brother at the ripe age of 8 triggering his wolf curse super young. Isa: Derrick’s sister who was once part of Bran’s pack in WA, however left with Bran’s permission about 5 years ago to become a hired gun for witches to kill hunters and government agents and dispose of their bodies silently. She became a trained assassin, but accidentally killed a family of witches in an explosion and has come to the compound to find atonement. Lou and Theo: Human best friends who have been in the cells since the game started. 100% Theo is secretly in love with Lou. Haven: Chaos baby immortal witch who has since had quite a dark night of the soul and change of heart. She’s starting to turn her shit around and be a better person. Minni: a new holistic witch who only came across her powers recently. But they had been blocked by her father. When she realized Noah’s powers were also being blocked by something they figured out it was the same thing. Now, Minni’s grabbing life by the horns and embracing magic and opportunity. Ronan: The last survivor of Elias’s crew. He was not involved in the plot to kill Derrick and the Devereauxs. But he’s still really sad his friends are dead. Kyle was executed after the fact. He keeps to himself but is a bit of an ass hole. He recently had one (1) moment of vulnerability. Puck: new kid on the block. Holistic witch son of Original witches close to the Deverauxs. He’s fascinated by wolves and wants to develop a cure for lycanthropy. Even if people don’t want that. Alex and Peyton: also fairly new, Best friends who grew up in foster care together. Alex is a vet student and knew exactly what to do to help Peyton when she was bitten and turned by a werewolf. She brought her to Carden but now Peyton’s in gen pop and Alex is part of the human blood supply.
Other important changes of note:
The wolves have recently been given uniforms. When we add you to the GC you’ll see pictures. But they’re fancy and cool.
The wolves now live in the manor with everyone else since the wolf quarters burned down. However they rebuilt a barn to chain up on full moons.
The humans have recently been moved out of the cells and into a bedroom.
THAT SHOULD BE EVERYTHING! If you’re a current player and feel something substantial is missing hit me up. If you’re a new player, thanks for reading this giant post. Obviously we don’t expect you to know EVERYTHING but this will help you understand where things are at now. Everyone is beginning to work together as a unit, there’ a significant amoutn more respect among leaders. The big power players in regard to leadership are Victoria, Aemilia, Thierry, Ellery, and Aurora. Anywaaysss I def didn’t link to everyone’s bios here becuase I didn’t want to overwhelm you so don’t feel obligated. But it def wouldn’t hurt to give some of the ones not linked here a read when you have time.

I’ve finalized a schedule for charging the wards on an every other day basis. If at any point you become sick or feel as though your magic has been corrupted let me know right away so that we can substitute a different witch in your place in addition to getting you help. I’ll be transferring Brigid’s magic during the days in between and could use some wolf volunteers to keep and eye on things while I’m focused on the ritual.

THIERRY ASTOR // 26 [27] // IMMORTAL WITCH
❝ Burn your biographies, rewrite your history, light up your wildest dreams... Stay up on the rise and never come down.❞
_______________________________________________________________________
BIOGRAPHY
Seductress. Siren. Devil. Whore. If she’d heard one word for it, Thierry was sure she’d heard them all. But they weren’t aimed at her. At least not always. They were aimed at her mother. By any one of the hundreds of men that seemed to flock in and out of their New Orleans apartment like a never ending freight train; relentless. Men loved Angelique Astor. Everyone did. They paid for it and they always came back. They fell in love with her fast, refused to leave, but always paid. Either in money or in drugs or in liquor. Thierry had never been allowed out of her room but she always heard it; the thin line between passion and violence, the line between intrigue and obsession. She never understood what to call it, what to blame it on. Her mother said that was just how the world was, just how men were. She was good at what she did.
Magic. The thing Thierry never knew was that what her mother did was magic. The rejected youngest daughter of a family of Original Witches, Angelique Astor was the warning story. She had a knack for seductive magic, the ability to make people feel pleasure and pain unlike anyone else good right at her fingertips. A connection to human feeling and nerves and just which ones to tug or break. She’d been so good at it she’d grown addicted herself, and slowly shoved out of her Original Family after the brith of her daughter, a half human girl Angelique had conceived with one of her many nightly visitors.
Thierry grew up never knowing her father. And never knowing magic. And never knowing her mother’s family. She grew up with New Orleans, with night lif, sleeping until noon, making breakfast for when her mother woke at two PM. They’d walk the city together in the evening, visit bars with Angelique looked for more clients. Thierry went to school now and then but never consistently.
It wasn’t until she was much older that she began to understand the magic she possessed herself. But by then, it was too late. Angelique died of an overdose when Thierry was seventeen, leaving her alone with the apartment, the bills and a long, long list of clients. Knowing no other way to do it, Thierry began to call the same numbers, set appointments, and work the same magic her mother did. She quickly began to understand, to feel power in her fingertips, the way it lured people to her more easily, the way she could understand what other people needed and when they needed it, when to take it away. Before she knew it, she was as good if not better than her mother at the game she had learned from her. And that’s when Thierry was approached by her uncle, an Original Witch, her mother’s brother. He told her that she was a witch, that she was doing was magic and that soon witches were going to be in grave danger.
Thierry wanted nothing to do with the family that rejected her mother, but she did want everything to do with magic. She began to seek out answers, lurk in different shadows. She learned to sense magic by touch. And that was when she laid her hand on the shoulder of exactly the right witch. The girl didn’t have quite as much power as Thierry did. But she had it. And they became friendly immediately. Thierry asked questions, questions she couldn’t get from books and she learned more. As they began to run into each other around the city more frequently, they became friends, Thierry dragging her new friend to dark bars and VIP velvet couches while by daylight she met her in coffee shops and libraries. Their worlds were entirely different and yet felt entirely the same.
And it was in her friend’s books that Thierry Astor discovered necromancy. The more she learned about it, the more she began to push the boundaries of what witches were allowed. She sought out a real teacher. An older Original Witch who helped trained her magic far beyond anything her new Holsitic friend could teach her. And one day, Thierry returned with a request; to become immortal. She was sure it was possible. She had some notes, notes that she’d found in the forbidden books of the man training her. Her Holistic friend might not have been powerful but she was brilliantly smart. And they set to work, burning faster and harder through every bit of Witch craft they could get their hands on.
It took work, fury, another witch or two, and far more games and deals than Thierry thought were possible. But she got there. And eventually, the dangerous and forbidden magic worked. Thierry became the first and only Immortal Witch, a species that other witches had always considered impossible, immoral, an abomination. But Thierry didn’t. She saw it as power, yet another way to get back the family that had turned her mother away, another way to climb the ranks of the world that always operated on rank and winning.
After that, Thierry began to build a coven. She first offered immortality to the witches who helped her achieve it, but most turned it down. None of them yet knew the consequences of the magic. Or they were afraid of the inclination to drink human blood. And not many of them were quite has willing to take the risk of dying and being reanimated as Theirry was. But she began to find the right kinds of people, ones who were desperate for life, ones who wanted to break rules, ones who wanted to gain power over the Original Witches. The same Original Witches who were forced to offer Thierry a seat at their political table. Celestina Black put the letter in the mail, inviting Thierry and her small coven of Immortal Witches to Carden Manor, a place where they’d be provided with the human blood they needed to stay alive, and a say in how the witch world shakes out in the wake of the hunts.
______________________________________________PERSONALITY/TRAITS
If there’s anything Thierry Astor learned form her mother, it’s that everything has a price. And she learned it again from her Immortal Magic. Thierry sees the world as a game, and every person in it a player. She takes things entirely too seriously and then not serious enough, toying with people if it means she’ll get what she wants, but occasionally toying just for fun. Becoming immortal has changed the girl she was, who valued work and survival, into one who is perhaps a little more careless than she’d like. The longer she goes on as an Immortal the more Thierry can sense that something has broken in her soul. But she’s not willing to give up the power she’s only just found. Politically, she’s a wild card. Easily bought but entirely self involved. The only people outside of herself that Thierry sees as worth protecting are her other Immortal Witches and the few friends that helped her achieve Immortality, but even her connections to them and their well being have begun to feel severed.

AUGUSTIN CROWE // 44 // WITCH
❝ My past has tasted bitter for years now, so I wield an iron fist. Grace is just weakness. Or so I’ve been told. ❞
_______________________________________________________________________
BIOGRAPHY
Augustin never really understood the elitism of Original Witches. Holistic and Original witches alike both wrote rituals, both relied on the earth and her magic. They still listened to the stars, read spells and spoke chants. The only thing Original Witches had that the Holistic witches didn’t were pure blood lines and their tendencies toward natural power, something that Augustin would tell you, requires far less work, far less commitment, and far less discipline than real, ritual magic. But Augustin had a good teacher, an older woman who took him under her wing when an eight year old August ran away from home.
August was the accident baby, third child of a half human original witch. One whose pure blooded husband cared a lot about bloodline, and a lot about his drinking habits. August wasn’t his child. Something he’s thankful for now but at the time, left him the outcast, the source of his “father’s” anger, the reason his parents were always arguing. The man his mother had slept with to have him was just a human, an affair she was having to escape the oppressive nature of Original Family politics. An affair that left August only a small percentage of Original Witch blood in his veins. Not enough to be considered pure blooded, not enough to make his father proud, not enough to feel like he belonged in their family at all.
When he ran away, he was found a few blocks from his house by a shopkeeper, Lady Crowe, a holistic witch who knew more about magic than anyone Augustin had ever met. She encouraged him to go home back to his parents, but to come to her during any free time that he had and she would teach him. And she did. Augustin learned everything Lady Crowe had to teach. She became not just a teacher to him but a true paternal figure, someone who loved him and helped him to cultivate his craft safely, away from the misplaced rage of his father.
It was training with Lady Crowe that Augstin met his wife. It was in her shop that they were all attacked, late on the night of a full moon by a grup of government hunters, early in the recent hunting era. His wife and Lady Crowe were both killed. A ritual Augustin barely pieced together in time the only thing that protected the shop from being torched, with their bodies in it. He stayed there for days, seeing their bodies away, gathering all of Crowe’s things, and never returning.
Augustin took Lady Crowe’s name as his own, left town and found a small apartment where he forgot witchcraft and found himself at the bottom of a bottle. Eventually, he received a letter from a witch who had frequented Lady Crowe’s shop a thousand times; Celestina Black. Celestina was gathering witches again, trying to rebuild power. She didn’t necessarily believe in the strength of Holistic witches, but knew that they needed as much power as they could get. And Augustin was the most powerful Holistic witch she had ever met. Augustin took the invitation and agreed to join the Blacks and the other families at Carden Manor, where he acts now as the stand in “coven leader” to whatever Holistic witches come through the doors.
But that’s not all he’s doing there. Augustin knows that Holisitic witches can be powerful if they want to. So he’s using the opportunity to gather any stray witches he can find, to slowly and subtly build an army right under Celestina’s nose. If he can manage to keep all of their loyalty with the strict, iron fist he governs with.
______________________________________________PERSONALITY/TRAITS
Despite his determination and lofty goals, Augustin is marred by his past in more ways than he’d like to be. He believes deeply in the power of holistic magic but also knows that the current power structure must be upheld, especially with the emergence of Immortal witches, a type of magic that Augustin is vocally and adamantly opposed to. Augustin is rigid about rules, strict, disciplined and firm. He teaches any Holistic witches that want to learn but runs his ship like a tough general, expecting loyalty and good behavior from every Holistic witch who joins him, so that they might some day rise past their station. Augustin’s childhood plages him but he also took some negative lessons away from it, like the necessity for a firm hand and discipline and the sense that blood line will always be the governing body in the witch world, above all things, even love, even family, even kindness.
