HEADCANONS : sinsmas edition .

lucifer is a big fan of the holidays ! he and the sins enjoyed the concept of christmas, so around the 9th century, when the holiday became more popular on earth, they came up with the adaption of " sinsmas " so as to not step on the toes of heaven directly ( and still be able to celebrate ━ a hit with the born and raised denizens of hell, some annual joy in such an overwhelmingly negative realm ). the morningstar mansion contains a dedicated sinsmas room. it is more or less a spacious closet that he cleared out for him and charlie to fill, and it now houses a festive ( somewhat chaotic ) variation of decorations from over the years. a lot of the room is taken up by pieces from ( hell's off-brand ) christmas village sets, both the early paper kind and the more modern ceramic sets, cotton " snow " lining the floor in little pathways, an everlasting tree they would re-decorate each year, hanging paper chains, strings of popcorn decorations they probably should have taken down over a century ago, and other small trinkets or decorations. lucifer doesn't have the heart to change the room anymore. he hasn't grown out of his victorian era " glitter " phase. if the tree isn't covered in cotton and glitter, or epsom salt, ( or in his earlier years he would occasionally use " frosted glass, finely crushed, " ) then it is only a matter of time. he has, however, gotten over decorating the annual tree with fake icicles made out of lead ; they're plenty shiny but it turns out they're not very safe for children, ( probably because of the poison or something, ) so tinsel has become his go-to. lucifer hand-makes almost all of the decorations he puts up. this can include : ━ at least one different holiday-themed duck per year, though he has cheated this rule more than several times by swapping out for alternative colour palettes. ━ greenery like wreaths, garlands, weaving around wire shapes to hang, mistletoe balls, etc. basically anything to liven up the place. ━ gilded walnuts or acorns, which are hollowed out to put sugar plums inside. ━ nutcracker dolls of varying sizes ( he thinks they're cute ). ━ toy birds, of which he brings to life to hang out on the tree ( take for example ; how he made razzle and dazzle ) and sets them free after sinsmas. this is a take on the victorian trend of caging canaries to hang on the tree, but lucifer does not cage these birds.
