Vox, Luca, Alhaitham & Rei with a Shy! GN Lover

characters: vox akuma & luca kaneshiro from luxiem, alhaitham from genshin impact and suwa rei from buddy daddies

notes: gender neutral reader, slightly ooc, uses of petnames such as love and darling, just fluff, nothing else enjoy!! (haven't proofread yet, so lmk of any errors!)

you've known vox to be someone who isn't shy with affection nor words, so he definitely likes bringing out a reaction out of you knowing that you're shy.

pda is his thing, and the first time he held you and you got so red, the image of that is basically permanently planted in his head.

vox is very reliable, so i assume that he would be the type that will do stuff for you if you can't. for example, he'll initiate most of the affection and will always be sure that you're comfortable.

he would ask for permission before touching you, so that you don't get surprised when he suddenly snakes an arm around your waist while your doing some chores.

he definitely notices your efforts in being the first to approach him, but he'll never push you to do it. so imagine how proud he was when you were the first to ask for a kiss after you both started dating.

"my, isn't this something, darling?", still manages to tease you before he gently leans into your lips, slightly feeling you tremble before holding you tight to reassure you.

he would tease you sometimes, but doesn't do it often because he doesn't wanna make you feel uncomfortable. so, he'll only usually do it if he notices that you're being playful.

the type to definitely sneak kisses when he thinks your asleep because he just finds you adorable!

overall, isn't really a problem to him knowing that his loveable significant other is shy around him, in fact, he likes it!

luca's very social! so it was a surprise to him at first when he found out that you were actually shy.

he thought you didn't like him, that's why you were so quiet (you were actually so into him, you just didn't know what to do)

once you both progressed into the relationship, luca would be the type that would play small pranks on you to see your reaction (mostly because he wants to see you smile)

isn't pushy with pda, but you can never resist his puppy eyes. he doesn't even know it's his charm, it just works!

pda in public happens occasionally, mostly because it's you who initiate it. otherwise, luca wouldn't want to push it (not that he doesn't like it, he's also kinda flushdge)

luca's a man of many words, so he's definitely one to tell you plenty of stories while you listen attentively.

alhaitham is the type to act really cold or carefree in front of others, but in front of you? baby.

it's probably your shy nature that makes him so comfortable. (prefers you over anything, so >>>>)

comes home and would drape himself all over you, while you get all flustered and red. this man will just laugh and pecks your cheek.

saw kaveh try to talk to you one time while he wasn't home and mans ran just to push kaveh away from you.

rei is not a man of many words, we know that. so he doesn't really mind your preserved nature. in fact, it's like you both connect telepathically.

you were the first to ask him out (much to your own surprise), and rei thought you were really cool.

i feel like rei is also protective but he hides it a lot. the type who would sort of stalk you just to make sure your safe.

he may not talk much, but he does it for you. he knows what it feels like not being able to speak, so he doesn't push it onto you.

you and kazuki are probably besties, because kazuki bribes you with information abt rei you've never heard of before, and rei is always trying to separate you both.

he actually likes seeing you all sparkly and excited.

the both of you were pretty awkward early on in the relationship since talking wasn't really a thing.

but after a while, rei got used to the idea of having you around that he doesn't act all lazy anymore (kazuki thanks the lord for you).

if you also play games, expect a lot of late night dates where you both play games and hang out.

rei trusts you with his life, and is probably most comfortable with you. so, he isn't shy to prove that he loves you.

confesses out of the blue so often just to make sure you still love him.

"y/n." "yea, rei?" "i love you", sees your cheeks redden and smirks in satisfaction. (hes a fucking tease, i just know so)

overall, rei is the best if you're an introvert or prefer quiet dates. idk i just feel like rei doesn't mind you being shy because he himself has no care for anything skskksk (in a good way ofc).

Weapon Review part 1(?)

Warning: will describe what weapons do

Let's review how well the weapons fare against angels and what they're gonna do with it. By your local akuneko brainrot patient (me). The bonus points aren't really counted.

The types of weapon listed here are unofficial and merely what I think they are.

I'm pretty sure the weapons aren't scaled in actual size in the pictures because Lucas's scythe definitely looks bigger in-game and Lato's daggers aren't that big.

Daggers/Combat knives

I was searching for materials regarding why daggers over swords for research purposes, but then I remembered Lato uses daggers too. Daggers are so cool.

It's lighter than swords and should increase his agility

And it has holes, holes on blades to reduce weight (usually) so further increase in agility

It's perfect for stabbing and easy to carry

Maybe he can throw it because he has multiple. Requires mad skills tho

The hilt makes it look like a trench knife (maybe it is, idk)

It mainly stabs. Too short for fatally slashing (different story if he wanna torture or something) What he gonna do, stabs angels eyes? Actually do angels have the same vitals as humans? Then he can just stab their hearts

Generally lower damage and shorter range than swords

I wish the blades were serrated to make it cooler (+ easier to tear off limbs)

7/10 +3 from being cool

Double-bladed polearm

Looks graceful to me. Polearms aren't for throwing because they're longer and heavier than spears.

With blades like that I think Berrien can use it for stabbing, except with more force because of the momentum

Looks like it can slash too but I don't think it's effective. It may be a quick attack but it needs space to do a rotation. Maybe it'll do well when surrounded by angels and that's when double blades come into action, he only needs half of the rotation, maybe less if there are many angels but not enough damage Imo

It definitely has long range

The long shaft can drive away things, defend, and maybe for bludgeoning too just like what a metal pipe would do *insert falling pipe mp3 here*

Hard to use in a cramped space

Double blades like that is actually quite heavy, and he should be rotating/thrusting that around

Actually would get Berrien in big trouble if an angel closing in

8/10 it's good. I like how he stores it under his bed

Double Ax/Labrys

Practically, the point of Double Ax is so that the blades can have different degrees of sharpness. Lumberjacks can use one side for felling and the other for limbing. But Fennesz isn't a lumberjack so you know whose limbs,

Definitely dishes out big damage

Labrys is a symbol of power, it should looks intimidating, it sure does but I don't think angels can feel intimidated (if they feel anything at all)

There is a lot Fennesz can do with it, it's primarily for chopping/hacking but it can also do thrusting, hooking, slashing, and so on. For maximum damage he can do an overhead strike... No wait I just realized this Labrys has longer shaft than usual

Increased reach I guess

It's heavy, no matter how strong Fennesz is, it might drain his stamina

Create openings especially when gaining momentum

He'll get in big trouble too if an angel closing in

7/10 DPS enough ig, +3 for being pretty and loosely looking like a butterfly

BFS

Look at that extra-broad broadsword. I wonder which one is heavier between this and the double ax

Big damage but with speed, Bastien is known for his insane speed

What else does it do other than damage…? It looks very cool I guess, like a shounen protag or Guts or Cloud

Just like usual sword it's good for stabbing, thrusting, slashing, piercing, etc but because it's wide it can be used for shield too maybe

Heavy

Despite the speed he still leaves openings and results in plot-points. What a deadly weapon

5/10 too deadly +2 for shounen

Thorned/barbed whip

What was Ammon thinking when choosing this? It's less of a killing weapon and more like a torture device. Looks very aesthetic tho since it resembles a rose

Can make the opponent bleed profusely. Can angels actually die from blood loss? (Do they even have blood…?)

Long range, and can keep angels from getting closer

It's noisy so it can intimidate & scare things away. Again, if they can even be scared at all

Fictionally it can be used to tangle, trip, or holding enemies in place ala Indiana Jones with his bullwhip (requires mad skills)

It barely does any fatal damage

Difficult to control/aim

With it barbed, it's more likely to cause accidental self-injury. Or injures companions. Unless he's really really skilled… Well, I sure hope he doesn't train often. *Insert uncanny mr incredible png*

Then again it would be difficult to not harm any companions in a cramped place

It can't do any slashing, thrusting, hooking, or literally other type of attack, it mostly whips

Also would get in trouble if an angel closing in

4/10 it's cool but impractical, +3 for being pretty

You know what, I know way too little about angels or maybe I just don't remember

I started writing this for no reason so yeah why not post it.

What did you think about Challengers? Because i’m having a very unpopular opinion… i didn’t like Zendaya’s acting. I thought it was so forced. I just think she couldn’t deliver the nuance of Tashi as a character and her scenes were so flat… I could see a different actress playing the role but Zendaya really didn’t do much with it. Her delivery was very monotonous and as i said, she didn’t give her the dimensions I feel were needed to understand her as a character. And Zendaya had just one facial expression for Tashi the entire movie too and that threw me off and completely disappointed me too because she had the material to do more and just didn’t.

The real stand out of the movie was Josh O’Connor that was irreconcilable with that role and managed to give Patrick some depth with very easy and smart tone changes and he ate every scene he was in (and dare I say, he was holding Zendaya’s performance together). Faist did well with what he was given and I think this will open a lot of doors for him in the film world.

But for this to be Zendaya’s big “lead role” it felt incredible empty as a performance. And I feel so many reviewers were so afraid to critize her lack of versatility in that performance or afraid to say her co-stars had a better performance and overall chemistry together because she has a massive social media support. But… it is the truth and if there’s anyone in there that will get an Oscar nomination for that will be O’Connor.

(But I don’t think the movie will get any acting nominations except for some technical/script categories).

I finally saw (and am now obsessed with) Challengers so responding after long while lol. Honestly, I loved it. My favorite movie of the year so far (followed by Dune 2 and I Saw the TV Glow). I agree Josh O’Conner was excellent and devious and sexy and just… a scene-stealer. I think that each of their performances worked for the characters as written? I think Tashi is supposed to be more cold and calculating but she’s also funny and biting and sexy, I can definitely totally understand why you feel this way though. I personally think all their personalities and portrayals work. Mike Faist is definitely the most submissive of all three from the get-go, while the other two and are more combative and go after what they want. The interplay between them all and their personalities and going after each other (in every sense of the word) makes the film. So I don’t necessarily fully agree (at least on this watch) but I do totally see where you’re coming from. I honestly often get a coldness from at least characters in Luca’s movies (like everyone except Timmy and his dad in CMBYN, everyone except the young bf and maybe the lesbian daughter in I Am Love) so I was worried this would be the same but this felt really lively and much sexier than most of his movies to me. So I feel like it’s more character than Zendaya and I really liked her here but yeah.

the thing that really gets me w having steve say that he was a shitty bf is the implication that nancy was a good gf when, from everything we saw in s2 and even excluding anything directly to do w jonathan, she absolutely was not. like steve could have been more sensitive to nancy's grief but if we give nancy some level of grace bc of her trauma then that also extends to steve imo - and despite that he still went to dinner every week w barb's parents for nancy, noticed she was upset in the library and took her somewhere private to check on her, tried to keep her safe/thinking rationally when she starts talking about violating the NDA to tell ppl about barb, made sure jonathan would take her home when he was too upset to, and then told her it was okay for her and jonathan to be together w no fighting or bitterness despite how hurt he was. on nancy's side, she was excited about the party (spending time on the costumes, trying to encourage jonathan to come) then once they're there starts lashing out at steve. like he's literally getting harassed by billy and tommy and she just rolls her eyes then walks away, when steve is concerned about how much she's drinking she drinks more to spite him and makes that comment about being normal teenagers like he wanted, tells him that they killed barb, calls him and their relationship bullshit, says she doesn't love him, and then when he's obviously upset the next day and wants some kind of reassurance she just laughs (obv it was an awkward, doesn't know what to say kind of laugh but still) and never ends up apologizing. and all that excluding anything directly related to jonathan/the cheating.

i couldn’t have said it better myself.

people do tend to forgive a lot of nancy’s mistakes with the fact that she is traumatised, and yet barely anyone is willing to do the same for steve.

he is one of the few characters (i think the only other one is lucas, though lucas tells max everything so he’s not that scared lol) we see on screen that are terrified of the government. he is overly aware and paranoid about the fact that the government could literally kill them if they wanted to. i mean, he’s literally seen how willing they are to cover up a death! nancy mentions barb’s death and he’s immediately closing the blinds like he’s worried people are watching them. i think in relation to barb, it is clear that steve is doing as much as he can, he’s just scared.

and yeah, mostly everything about that party pisses me off. nancy doesn’t care that her boyfriend is getting bullied, and gets drunk literally to spite him. and the next day, steve is begging her to tell him she loves him, and she just laughs and said ‘seriously?’ like?? that’s just not good girlfriend material, and it is the trauma, she just doesn’t have the emotional maturity to be in a relationship. but that’s an explanation and not an excuse, which is why i so hope we actually get steve and nancy having a conversation about their relationship next season, with nancy acknowledging her own faults and not just letting steve take all the credit lol

and yeah, don’t even get me started on nancy and jonathan, which, even ignoring the cheating, is not a good relationship

Which shouldn't be as scary as it is because she gathers minions. She ropes Max into it, she manages to get Erica involved, and in one particularly scaring event, she gets Nancy involved.

She's constantly stealing Mike's attention, and Mike remains oblivious to her motives. She makes threats and is overall just entirely too organized for her age.

Eventually, Jonathan, El, and Hopper have to individual call a truce with her.
