Fun facts about Father of Time in no particular order!

I was meant to be an LU fanfic in the beginning, one where Time was raised by the Fierce Deity instead of...whatever it was he had done after MM. This is obviously not the truth now; it's too different and Link will have such a drastically different grown up life that it's effecting the other Links later on in the timelines. Oops.

Originally Link was never going to be able to turn into FD ever again. The mask broke, the deity was freed and now he was just going to be a "normal" (HAHAHAHAHA) kid who had a god for a dad. And then plot started to show up. Then I was like "but what if Link could transform without the mask?" The anniversary of Termina happened and there was *something* going on with Link. Then chapter 9 happened. And the rest is history.

When I'm picturing Hyrule, I use the BotW map because I honestly believe after staring at SO MANY MAPS that there's not as much disagreements between various game maps as we think. So OOT's Hyrule is the middle part and there's a lot of stuff off the edges that coincides with BotW's map. Obviously, features have changed over the many, many centuries and I make adjustments for that.

The first village Deity and Link stop at in their trip to Nayru's Mountain is where Kakariko is in BotW. the mesas eventually eroded down into the strange humps in the future.

You can find Oceanis' temple in BotW/TotK! In fact, the ruins on the hill by the Rist Peninsula are why Oceanis exists in the first place! I was wandering around in BotW, trying to plot Deity and Link's path from to the various Goddess Springs when I discovered the ruins and thought they looked like they might have been a temple. And then I thought, what if they ARE a temple? Were a temple? What if an ocean deity had lived here in the past? And Oceanis walked fully formed out of the ocean and into my head.

Aevum was actually the second deity I was going to have in Link's life (not including the Golden Goddesses) but she was the third he met. Oceanis pushed his way in. Probably for the best. FD meeting a friendly Sibling was much better for him that meeting Aevum first off.

Once FD and Oceanis started mentioning other Protectors, well, that was the end of this being a reasonable story with a small cast of characters. I have SO MANY deities made up now. And I've hinted that there were a lot more back in the past as well so I can just....make them up when I want to.

some chen bin / ep2 observations

hello. today i’m putting ep2 under a microscope. 👍

I’m going to argue that Chen Bin was probably not directly controlled by red-eyes in the discussion scene, especially after handing Lu Guang the phone.

assumption: the glowing eyes are only for the audience, as no one has pointed them out so far (unless I'm forgetting).

Which means the show has to work around giving the audience more info than the characters -- a great example of them doing that is Liu Min in the dark room (red eyes in a red scene), but it’ll be hard to always pull off natural obscuring.

And what’s interesting to me is that... they didn’t really try to obscure CB all that much? So it made me wonder about the implications of that.

So, afaik what happened was:

Qian Jin (green haired dude) got the photo from his home for red-eyes

At some point, CB switched the phones (his and Liu Min’s)

CB gave the phone to LG.

Then CB vanished to yeet out a window.

I'm assuming he was controlled for 2) & 4). Assuming he didn't do 2) right in the room with them, it must have happened at some point during/between all of the hospital room scenes. Because the call QJ has with CB is before QJ hands red-eyes the photo and that call was while CXS was changing, so he couldn’t have done 2) (under control, at least) until the hospital room scenes.

Still, assuming 2) happened before the red-eyes ability discussion scene, we have a lot of far shots of him with his eyes seemingly blocked in (not the same as lineart, but not 1:1 his actual color tbf), implying to me that he was not directly controlled in this scene - but was at some point prior (to switch the phones).

So, red-eyes seemingly controlled him more than once.

Which, for me, opens a ton of questions:

Assuming CB switched the phone out a while before he handed it to LG, did he not notice it was his while handing it over?

if it was shortly before handing it over, why would red-eyes stop the control for such a short timeframe?

how did they know when to possess CB again to do 4)?

do they not have the 1-use-per-photo limitation that our MCs (allegedly) have? or did they have another photo? (Did they get the lockscreen photo while he was controlling him to switch the phones, perhaps?)

Or... is there something entirely different going on? Like some sort of hypnosis? Some freaky puppeteer or voodoo stuff with the plushies?!!

I'm half joking, but he really is quiet in that scene. He doesn't talk/discuss anything, no close-ups and just hands over the phone when he's told (looking kinda dead inside while doing so, too lol).

(could of course be because he’s controlled - and who knows, maybe the lack of close ups is their way of obscuring his eye color, but tbh in comparison to the dark room scene that seems kind of... lackluster.)

I doubt it’d be something other than control, considering red-eyes was actively given a photo - but maybe we’re also being tricked with the assumption that this red-eyes is the person controlling people; considering their natural eye color is a lot more direct than CXS and LG, which almost makes me suspicious of it.

I’ll stop throwing darts at a wall now, but I do hope that my limit observation OR the lack of CB substance in that scene will somehow be relevant in the future :D

It would be either my copy of So Long a Letter by Mariama Bâ or the Eye of Fatma pendant that my friend gave me when I was thirteen. They’re not worth anything in terms of actual money, but they were given to me by people I care about.

I would’ve loved to be a translator, but it’s one of those things where the publishing world in Paris is such a microcosm that you really can’t get a job without pistonnage (familiar way of saying nepotism).

Someone told me that my story and writing drew them in so much that they forget these are just characters, and that’s definitely the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my writing^^

Well, this was quite the season finale. The wait for season 3 will blow. More spoilers.

I'm not that surprised by Lu Guang turning out to be a time traveler who wants to save Cheng Xiaoshi despite time paradoxes. Like, the overprotective behavior, the supposed wisdom beyond his actual age, and the apparent experience with time travel made it obvious. And would messing with the supposed immutable node of death cause a time paradox?

It's interesting that the Cheng Xiaoshi in that flashback was wearing his season 1 jacket. If the timeline of the other universe matches this one, does that mean he might have originally died during events of season 1? It doesn't seem that he'd be wearing this jacket again, as I think he might have trashed it in season 2 opener. Wonder if he was the original person that got stabbed in the photo studio confrontation (but that's spitballing).

Of additional interest: the imagery in the opening that implied that only one of them can survive. But well, let's just enjoy this little found family's survival for now. Surely season 3 won't be even more emotionally devastating at all, right? And does Qiao Ling now have super empathy?

Also, wonder what the hat guy's objective is. He talked about fate etc, so potential time traveler? Very vague. Also, pouring one out for Tian Chen bc ultimately, guess he ended up a pawn of someone else. First he was wielded by a toxic parent for full "stay together for the kids" points, then a fake dad, now this so-called friend. Man, he's a rather pitiful antagonist in a way. Seeing him dump the cell phone with Xixi on the lockscreen made me tear up tbh.

I have not changed my phone lockscreen since Mandalorian came out and have been rocking Din Djarin but gosh I might have to see if I can find a quality image of Luffy straddling Zoro in the OPLA show or at least Lu and Zo in the same frame bc my little Zolu Shipper Heart has all the dokidoki right now
