My Accent headcannons for the lu chain (and etc):
Time: was taught hylian by trees???? Almost has no tone/infliction in voice (he's working on it)
Malon: Tennessee accent all the way, with that nice hook at the end too (non southerners imagine dolly parton)
Lullaby: very formal proper hylian, dignitary style
Warriors: British military like he's reading from a manual
Sheik: I don't know much about her but the sheikah definitely take inspiration from Japan
Twilight: Appalachian accent as thick as raw honey (non appalachians have yall ever heard of one looking it up)
Midna: try 'n' convince me she don't have a loud ass Louisiana accent (non southerners go watch princess and the frog) (this is totally not for my Midna is African American agenda)
Dusk: real formal like n all that
Sky: That's a Midwesterner (he genuinely tried to get Wild and Rulie to eat jello salad once)
Sun: completely Midwestern
Groose: spends a lot of time around the other two^ but his parents are Gerudo (Arabic/middle eastern)
Four: the minish have always reminded me of the Icelandic tales of little elves
Dot: same formal accent, maybe more like Four's
Age/Cal(calamity): very formal british accent almost royal but also uses some Korean (Zora) words
Mipha: Korean accent (thicker than Sidon's)
Fauna: royal and tight lipped british
Wild: used to be more British (kinghts!), but now is more southern cause twilight has corrupted him
Flora: much more informal than the other zeldas
Legend: Scottish accent, but he usually hides it really well, so you can't really tell at all unless he's mad or tired
Fable: Scottish asf (non Scottish people imagine Merida)
Ravio: fairly normal, but if provoked, he will speak like an Italian mobster wife until he gets his way
Hyrule: Rulie is Irish or Welsh all the way (especially with half fae/fey Hyrule)
Dawn: pretty similar to Hyrule
Aurora: transatlantic accent!!!!!
Spirit: he's always reminded me of Hugo Cabret, so cockney british accent it is (this grates on War's patience)
Phantom: can be formal if she has to but usually just sticks with cockney as well
Wind: Okay look, I love scottish pirate Wind, but I raise you patois or creole pirate Wind
Tetra: Wind's accent but double the amount and also the volume she says it at

Kinship
Summary: Twilight breaks out his true accent to get information. AKA, Southern Appalachian Twilight
1.5k, fluff and hurt comfort
Excerpt below the cut :D
“'Scuse me, ma'am. Now, I'm sorry 'bout my friends, there. They ain't never step foot outta the city in their life." His accent came through strongly. Sure, he was embellishing it a bit, sue him. It was freeing to talk in his natural tone after so long spent pushing it down. Twilight valiantly ignored the wide-eyed looks Warriors and Sky were giving him.
The woman beamed. The grabbed the towel thrown over her shoulder and whacked it on the counter.
"Now, there's a nice country boy! What can I do ya for, son?"
Twilight glanced back at Warriors and Sky and jerked his head towards the door. "Would yunz give us a min?"
Warriors mouth dropped open in a strange imitation of a grin. Sky blinked at him.
Twilight rolled his eyes and made a shooing motion. "Get!"
Warriors threw his hands up in surrender as Sky herded the two of them out the door.
"Now," Twilight said, turning back to the woman and leaning one elbow on her counter. "I'm hoping you might could answer me some questions, ma'am."
"Ain't you the sweetest," The woman cooed. "Anythin' for you, darlin."

Can you explain why you think the LU fandom is disrespecting the South?
gladly. in no particular order, and not comprehensive but here are some reasons:
- non-Southerners apparently don't understand that the Deep South, Appalachia, and Texas all have distinct cultures yet always lump them together when making Twi headcanons
- the constant "jokes" that Twi is stupid or uneducated. Twilight. the Southern coded character. being uneducated. classism much?
- the jokes that Twis accent is unintelligible. again, the Southern coded character.
- the sheer ignorance about the South. I've seen multiple posts about how Twi can't handle spice, about how he finds black pepper spicy. again. Twi is Southern coded and even if not often headcanoned as Southern. has anyone ever tried Southern cuisine? do y'all under that the South is literally the birthplace of Nashville hot chicken and Cajun food? if you did even a modicum of research into our diet, you'd see how flavorful and spice heavy it is!!
sure, you can say these are jokes but how do you think it makes southerners feel? to be told our way of speech is wrong? that we're all idiots? that we don't deserve to be known and understand as deeply as the rest of the country is forced to understand the difference between a New Yorker and a Bostonian? how do you think we feel seeing everyone make fun of our "meals" (even though y'all wouldn't know good southern food if it hit y'all in the face)
it's disrespectful. it's rude. and worse, it's rooted in unchecked classism and hatred for the South. do you know we're told to change the way we speak to be taken seriously in the workplace? because people only think northern accents are smart. do y'all know I've had people basically shut down their trying to know me to make a friend as soon as I said I'm southern? have you seen how people shut their brains off as soon as "y'all" comes out of my mouth? or did you stop reading as soon as I typed it.
to be clear: there's nothing wrong with headcanoning Twi as Southern or Texan or Appalachian or even just country. I love it in fact! But try using your braincells a little before you make yet another post about how stupid Twi is, kay?

Twilight should be allowed to call monsters “critters.” Like, I realize that Wild canonically refers to the bugs and stuff that he catches as critters, but to Twilight, everything’s a critter. Bokoblin? Critter. Lizalfos? Nope, that’s a critter. Wild game? Also critters. The ants living in that huge anthill in the middle of camp? Swarming with critters. His unwillingness to distinguish between wild animals and monsters that might kill them has caused confusion on more than one occasion:
“Hey y’all, critters at 8 o’clock!”
“Could you be a bit more specific?!! Are they dangerous? Do they want to kill us??”
“I dunno, I don’t read minds.”
“Do they have the POTENTIAL to kill us??!”
“Aww, I mean, that all depends on the way you look at it—“
“RANCHER, I SWEAR—“
(He definitely deliberately uses this a tactic sometimes to keep Wild from killing all the game in the area)

Hey LU fandom... kindly learn that
1. Southern American accents are not "cowboy accent". They're different.
2. Southern, Texan, Appalachian, etc accents do not make someone stupid (seen this a lot with Twilight hcs and Hyrule hcs)
2.5 Conversely, Standard American accent doesn't make someone smart
3. Standard American English is no more "clear", "coherent", or whatever word you use as a more acceptable version of "smart" than a Southern, Texan, Appalachian, etc accent.
Your ignorance and classism isn't cute or funny. Please stop 🥰🥰
