‘Supernatural,’ 'The Flash,’ 'Smallville' Stars Among Celebrities At Fan Expo Cleveland, March 21-23
Tumblr media
Fans of some of pop culture’s most beloved franchises are preparing for FAN EXPO Cleveland as Jared Padalecki (“Supernatural”), Grant Gustin (“The Flash”), “Smallville” standout Tom Welling, “Daredevil” standout Charlie Cox and legendary director Eli Roth (Thanksgiving, Cabin Fever) are among the first wave of celebrities attending the annual extravaganza, March 21-23, 2025, at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.
FAN EXPO Cleveland features the biggest and best in pop culture: movies, TV, music, artists, writers, exhibitors, and cosplay, with three full days of themed programming to satisfy every fandom.
Jared Padalecki starred in the series “Supernatural” as the protagonist “Sam Winchester” for its full 15-season run from 2005-2020. “Gilmore Girls” fans will also remember him from his early-seasons role as “Dean Forester.” Padalecki is currently the lead role of “Cordell Walker” in the CW contemporary western “Walker.”
Grant Gustin played the title character “Barry Allen” in “The Flash” CW television series for the duration of its run from 2014 through last year, as well as in “Arrow,” “DC Legends of Tomorrow,” “Batwoman” and others. He first gained wide notice for his portrayals of “Campbell Price” in the revival of “90210” and “Sebastian Smythe” in “Glee.”
Tom Welling is probably best known for his role as “Clark Kent” in "Smallville.” He has also played “Lt. Marcus Pierce / Cain” in “Lucifer” and “’Karate Rob’ Meltzer” in “Judging Amy” and has had roles in the films Cheaper by the Dozen, The Fog, Draft Day and The Choice.
Charlie Cox has had more than 40 screen credits, with his role as “Matt Murdock” on “Daredevil” (reprised in “She-Hulk” and Spider-Man: No Way Home) the most prominent. He gained wide notice for his portrayal of “Owen Sleater” in the HBO period drama “Boardwalk Empire” and played the lead role of “Michael Kinsella” in the AMC+ crime drama series “Kin.”
The multi-talented Eli Roth has gained fame as a director, writer, producer and actor. He wrote and directed hit films such as Thanksgiving, Cabin Fever, Hostel, and Hostel II and starred in Inglourious Basterds as “Sgt. Donny Donowitz.” Roth has produced more than 40 TV and film productions and is also the director and writer of this year’s feature film Borderlands, starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Adult, Youth, and Child Single-Day Tickets, Three-Day Passes, Family passes, and Ultimate and VIP Packages for FAN EXPO Cleveland are available now at www.fanexpocleveland.com. Advance pricing is available until March 6. More guest news will be released in the following weeks, including line-up reveals for additional headline celebrities, comic creator guests, voice actors, and cosplayers.

Hello Bad Guys: Top tier Lucifer ‘villains’ s.1-4
August 5, 2020
One of Lucifer’s main weaknesses as a show is the episodic “cop procedural” not giving us a very long time to stew with the antagonists and really appreciate their villainy enough whether we love to hate them outright, or we really torn by their evil doing because the characters are layered. That being said, there are a few rare exceptions that add just the right amount of darkness to balance the devilish shenanigans of the show, to give depth to the stakes. I very much hope that we get more antagonist complexity in season 5. Villains are interesting in comic narratives and should be treated with care.
Lucifer: Tom Ellis delivers a masterful performance whether he’s being Saint Lucifer, or going on a truly vengeful bender. Although Lucifer is the central protagonist, when the show explores Lucifer at his darkest or most desperate, we get to see him at his most antagonistic. Two of the most recent examples are his against the Tiernan family in “Devil is as Devil does” when he breaks McCaffrey’s back and against his own brother Amenadiel when he lashes out at him trying to start fights. His one monologue against Amenadiel where he compares him to a masochist soul in hell - his “pointless existence...reminds me of you”- is still one of the most painful parts of the show to watch, like powerlessly watching a car wreck. That’s one of the reasons I am looking forward to him portraying Michael in s5, because not only will we get to see Mike brewing and developing hopefully long term over the whole season to get to know him, but Tom is so gifted at those chaotic nuances.
Malcolm played by Kevin Rankin: Celestials and supernaturals haven’t been the biggest baddies on Lucifer, which is good. I think Malcolm is so great as an antagonist because his character is 100% human, a corrupt cop (making Chloe vigilant about more corruption in the department), which grounds the show in reality despite other fantastical elements and shows how the scariest evil isn’t cosmic as much as the depth of depravity when people are consumed by greed. And when he comes back to life hell hungry / crazy as a fox, it’s legitimately scary because he’s unpredictable.
Maze played by Leslie Ann-Brandt: Again, although she is technically a protagonist, when Mazikeen is hellbent she is ferocious. Case and point when she teams up with Marcus, tortures Lucifer, and hurts Trixie. It’s hard to watch her spiral, but she does it spectacularly.
the decoy Sinnerman, Marcus’ associate played by Kevin Carroll. I believed he was menacing and committed to a life of crime, dude stabbed his own eye’s out with a  pencil. I wish I got that intensity from Cain.
Mum / the Goddess played by Tricia Helfer: this character illustrates well, even as a larger than life cosmic entity, that you don’t have too be malicious or overtly intimidating to be an entertaining bad guy, just have a very clear motivation of what you want, misguided intentions, and a ruthless kind of tenacity to let nothing and no one stand in your way.
Perry Smith the prison warden played by Alex Fernandez: great bio (again, corruption in the prison system is both insidious and relevant) just not a very long arc.
Jacob Tiernan played by Jere Burns: I just love Jere Burns and I think that every actor from Justified should make an appearance on the show. Can you imagine? In all seriousness though, that human trafficking plot was hella grim. I wish we could have had a few more multi-ep arcs like that.
Oscar Rivas, the zealot from Los Xs played by Joseph Melendez: Jason Ning knows how write all the dark episodes! Season 4 “O, Ye of Little Faith ” sees Rivas go out by impaling himself on a stake. As far as murderous bad guy goes, literally nailed the dismount with insidious gore. The only disappointment was that this guy was a pawn of Father Kinley.
Honorable mention:
Nick Hoffman the paparazzo played be Jeremy Davies: I know he’s not a true villain as much as a painful antagonist from Chloe’s past, but I love his reckoning in her backstory. Did I mention how everyone on Justified should be on this show? Walton Goggins, pleeeasse be next.
Underwhelming baddies:
Amenadiel played by DB Woodside: before he became part of the Heavenly bros protagonists, I had really high hoping in season 1 that we would get more of Amenadiel as an enemy. We get great brotherly conflict from him to be sure, but apart from his first confrontation with Luci where he literally goes for the throat and the wing burning beach scene, there’s never a defining moment where we just get to hate him or say “Woah, that’s scary.” He’s just too charming to be worthy of that pilot line “I look forward to eating your heart one day” which was a stellar set up by the way. Which is why I love Amenadiel as a character, not as a baddie.
Uriel played by Michael Imperioli: I love Uriel, his power, his cleverness. I don’t think he was ever meant to be a conventional a bad guy. That’s not my disappointment. The underwhelming piece was that he was a 2-part setpiece for Lucifer’s character development (once in the flesh, once in the hellscape) rather than fully formed character
Father Kinley / Dromos the demon played by Graham McTavish: same problem I have with Cain (below). Father Kinley and Dromos are treated more as obstacles than threats. Granted, Dromos possessing Kinley is creepy, but not threatening although he’s meant to be ‘evil.’ Now Walton Goggins, he would have been a very scary vatican priest.
Lt. Marcus Pierce / Cain played by Tom Welling: Cain is an underwhelming big bad for me, specifically because we don’t get into the gritty of his past, just a lot of exposition that says but doesn’t show which makes it hard to connect the dots between tormented eternal, crime lord, and occasional straight arrow. It would be nice to get a sense of what triggers him to reinvent himself and what drives him to toe one side of the moral line or the other. We do get a flashback of him with the LAPD, but that’s when he’s on the right side of the law. I believe the motive that he wants to die, but the torture and mental instability of age that would lead into something menacing doesn’t translate on screen, just sad and bored Cain - therefore I don’t really believe him as an underground crime boss. Which is a shame, because I like Tom Welling, I enjoyed Marcus’ relationships with both Lucifer and Chloe, even the dynamic where he tries to use Chloe as a means to an end and has a change of heart. However, I never got the sense that the season arc knew where it was going with his villainy, and his descent back into crime near the end felt very unearned.
*21 Days of Lucifer Countdown: Here’s looking forward to the season 5 villains/antagonists. I cannot wait to meet Michael.*

On Nathema
With Keilla's run, all eight classes have now completed KOTET, the traitor arc and Ossus. Yay!
I was thinking of the enemies that show up on Nathema. There are a few that broke my heart, some that made perfect sense and many that left me scratching my head. FWIW, this is the rundown of who showed up for my toons, and who I would have chosen instead.  On the one hand since Nathema wiped out so many story NPCs in one blow, it was nice that everyone ever wasn’t sacrificed. On the other hand, I feel like that moment was supposed to be an emotional punch and it really wasn’t for some classes IMHO.
****SPOILERS FOR ALL EIGHT CLASSES OF SWTOR AND DISCUSSION OF WHO SHOWS UP ON NATHEMA FOR THEM *****
My characters got:  Viri (Sith Warrior): Darth Ravage. * Jia, Suvia (Sith Inquisitors): Zash Ikina (Imperial Agent): Marcus Trant Taran (Bounty Hunter): Janarus's wife
Lira (Jedi Knight): Master Kwiks Jenari (Jedi Consular): Gaden Ko Amedria (Smuggler): Master Sumalee Keilla (Trooper): General Garza
* Darth Baras inexplicably showed up on the Viri clone that was made with a Level 60 token.
I think...there might have been other choices for some of the classes.
Jedi Knight: Neither option here makes sense to me very much. I would have gone with:
Darth Mortis - I think he would have packed more of a punch here, because I could see him being like, "no fucking way I'm letting a Jedi run the galaxy."  Ravage could have taken his place as the Sith who aligns with Vinn Atrius if the Commander chose to be a peacekeeper. Master Kaedan - If he had not been killed on Ilum, he would have worked well here. He was already suspicious of a DS Jedi Knight and was willing to kill others to protect his assets.
Smuggler: I think the problem with the Smuggler is that most of the people who want them dead have already showed up in the game. Sumalee was a heartbreak. I didn't think the Voidwolf's daughter or whoever was effective but I have no idea who would have gone in her place.
Trooper: Garza made sense and I was honestly glad to take her out. For the other:
Lt. Pierce - This one would have been an absolute gut punch and I am glad that they didn't do this, since Pierce is alive in all stories and could thus possibly show up again. But I think he would have made sense and would have had more of an emotional impact for players who did the other classes, especially Sith Warrior. After all the trooper undoes all his work in taking the Bastion and that's the highlight of his career. Grand Moff Regus - Again, I am glad they didn't, so that he has a chance of reappearing, but this would have been an Imperial officer that more players would have recognized, and they could have framed it as him finally taking a shot at the leader of Havoc Squad.
Sith Warrior: Baras makes sense, although I can't understand why anyone would actually have saved him. As for Ravage, meh.
Servant One: I think it would have made more sense to throw him in here instead of Ravage. The Servants could be incensed that the Wrath turned her back on their beloved Vitiate.
Sith Inquisitor: this is the one class I think is 1000% perfect.
Bounty Hunter: Yeah so I have no idea who either of these people is or why I should care about them. I'd change it to:
Coral: Perhaps Coral survived after all and still has a grudge that the BH and Mako tracked her down and fought her. Maybe you only killed the clone you thought was Coral... Crysta's daughter: I don't know what her motivation would have been, but at least it would have been someone that the BH knew.
Imperial Agent: One of them is a heartbreak. The other has to be Googled. Or at least, I did. I’d have used:
Darth Zhorrid: You know she's not on the Dark Council anymore but there's no confirmation she's actually dead, and she surely doesn't need a reason to kill you, she just will. And if you sided with Jadus in the IA story she has ample reason to want revenge. I think she would have been more effective than Trant.

‘Back To The Future’ 40th Anniversary Highlights Fan Expo New Orleans, January 10-12, 2025
Tumblr media
The way we see it, if you’re going to build a pop culture convention, why not do it with some style? With apologies to Doc Brown, if our calculations are correct, FAN EXPO New Orleans brings every gigawatt of energy with its first wave of celebrities attending the annual extravaganza, January 10-12, 2025, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Headlining an already impressive lineup are four beloved stars of the Back to the Future trilogy, including Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Tom Wilson, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first installment in the franchise (and 140th anniversary of the 1885 setting of BTTF3!)
And if that weren’t enough, fans of “Smallville” can meet a trio of standouts from that landmark series, including Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum and Kristin Kreuk. And "Firefly” standout Alan Tudyk is also part of the initial lineup announcement, a superhero’s start to what will surely be another huge celebration in the Big Easy.
FAN EXPO New Orleans features the biggest and best in pop culture: movies, TV, music, artists, writers, exhibitors, cosplay, with three full days of themed programming to satisfy every fandom.
Michael J. Fox debuted as a professional actor at 15, co-starring in the sitcom “Leo and Me” on CBC. When he was 18, Fox moved to Los Angeles. He had a series of bit parts, including one in “Palmerstown USA” before winning the role of lovable conservative Alex P. Keaton on NBC’s enormously popular “Family Ties” (1982-89). During Fox’s seven years on “Ties,” he earned three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe, making him one of the country’s most prominent young actors. The five-time Emmy winner (in addition to the three for “Family Ties,” he also won one for “Spin City” and one for a guest role on “Rescue Me”) received an honorary Oscar for his commitment to the campaign for increased Parkinson’s research in 2022.
He may be best known to FAN EXPO fans for his iconic portrayal of “Doc Brown,” but Christopher Lloyd's career includes blockbuster films including The Addams Family and Who Framed Roger Rabbit and classic series like "Taxi" and the animated “Cyberchase.” Some of Lloyd's other top credits include Dennis the Menace, Angels in the Outfield, To Be or Not to Be, Clue and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
In addition to playing "Lorraine Baines McFly" alongside Fox, Lea Thompson starred in SpaceCamp, Howard the Duck, Dennis the Menace, Some Kind of Wonderful, All the Right Moves and numerous other hit films. She has guest starred in many TV series and had success with the NBC situation comedy "Caroline in the City" in the late 1990s before starring in several Broadway plays.
Tom Wilson is a character actor, writer and comedian with more than 100 film and TV credits. Wilson burst into the BTTF movies as the now iconic bully “Biff,” his grandson “Griff,” and even his own great grandfather, gunslinger Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen, for which he won the Saturn Award for best supporting actor. He’s also known for roles in “Freaks and Geeks,” "Wing Commander,” April Fool’s Day, “Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous” and “SpongeBob SquarePants.”
Kristin Kreuk appeared on "Smallville" as Clark's original love interest, “Lana Lang” and was also featured as “Catherine Chandler” in The CW sci-fi series "Beauty & the Beast" and as “Joanna Hanley” in the CBC legal drama series "Burden of Truth."
Michael Rosenbaum starred in the role of “Lex Luthor” on "Smallville" and most recently as the character “Buddy Dobbs” on the TV Land series "Impastor." He is also known for voicing “Wally West / The Flash” on the popular animated series "Justice League" and "Justice League Unlimited."
Alan Tudyk gained fans’ attention when he starred as wise-cracking "Hoban 'Wash' Washburne" in "Firefly" and Serenity, and later grabbed the “Star Wars” fandom with his portrayal of “K-2SO” in Rogue One. He currently stars as “Harry Vanderspeigle” in “Resident Alien” and also appeared in Wreck it Ralph and 42 and has lent his voice to characters in hits like “American Dad,” “Harley Quinn,” “Transformers: Earthspeak” and “Star vs. the Forces of Evil.”
New Orleans is the first event on the 2025 FAN EXPO HQ calendar; the full schedule is available at fanexpohq.com/home/events/.

Lucifer sighed, glad that Chloe had managed to calm his eager brother down. Last thing he needed was Pierce to take more notice of him than he already had.
"Lt. Marcus Pierce, our superior," Lucifer whispered back, as the muscled man made his way up the drive towards them. "But you and I know him better as Cain, the world's first murderer."
"Hey Bro" Gabriel says leaning against the bar as he watches this universe Lucifer carefully. He was hoping this version of his brother wasn't a total dick, but after 10 universes he wasn't going to hold his breath.
Tumblr media
@trickster-witha-kelbasa
Looking up from his whiskey tumbler, Lucifer regarded the other man slowly, eyes narrowing slightly in focus. The casual greeting could've been just that, a form of familiarity that most humans use nowadays. Yet for some reason, Lucifer didn't think that was why this man had said it. He had said it for an entirely different purpose. "Right, which one are you? I mean, it's been a while since I was in the Silver City, but I think I would remember one of my brothers having such a snark-filled face."

Fanfic Recs That No One Asked For
We're sliding into day ?? of quarantine and I thought I'd recommend some of my favorite fics that would totally violate social distancing rules.
Lucifer
What You Deserve by Darker_Side [Complete]
Summary:
An angsty one-shot of the interrogation room scene between Chloe and Lucifer in 3x20. I just couldn't get that tension out of my head, and this happened in preparation for season 4 in just a few days! AH! I hope you enjoy this angsty smut.
What I like:
It's HOT idk that's it y'all.
Happy Detective Day! by violent_ends [Complete]
Summary:
Now that Lucifer is in Hell, Chloe has completely forgotten that it's the one-year anniversary of that stupid surfer case in which Lucifer decided to focus entirely on her. That is, until a surly demon turns up on her doorstep, thrusts flowers in her face, and tells her, “Happy Detective Day from His Infernal Highness!”
Or: the marvellous top-side journey of Saleos the peace-loving demon.
What I like:
I love unusual POVs and Saleos is adorable 😉 I like the bittersweet ending the author chose to go with, it felt super realistic.
Crystals by OkamiShadou98 [WIP]
Summary:
After seeing Lucifer's scars, Chloe searches for the truth about her partner and his shadowed past. In doing so, she comes face to face with the psychological demons he shields himself from. Recovery is a long, twisted road for the Devil and his Detective. Eventual Deckerstar
What I like:
WING SCARS! I love me some wing scar angst. I also really love the inclusion of Dan in here. He and Lucifer have some nice brotp moments in here.
can we surrender? by dryadfiona [WIP]
Summary:
Marcus Pierce shoots Charlotte Richards. She doesn't die. They've gotta take down the Sinnerman somehow.
What I like:
It's a fake marriage trope guys 👀 need I say more? Also I just really liked what they did with their post s3 canon divergence.
the nicest angel you have by TotallynotRemus [WIP]
Summary:
In which Trixie prays for a friend, and the Devil answers. Or, Trixie makes a deal.
What I like:
I kinda dig demon summoner Trixie tbh. I like that Lucifer and Maze keep missing meeting Chloe and the fact that she thinks that Trixie now has imaginary friends named after the Devil and an object just doesn't even phase her.
Other Fandoms:
This may be a Lucifer blog but you guys know I like other fandoms right? 😉 Have some bonus recs.
Overheard by leiascully [Complete] Welcome to Night Vale Fandom
Summary:
Cecil accidentally broadcasts a private moment.
What I like:
Listen why are there not more accidental voyeurism fics in the wtnv fandom?? This one is perfect. The writing is absolutely beautiful and I could just fall into anything this author writes in this style.
Perhaps A Sign by Thia (Jennaria) [Complete] Welcome to Night Vale Fandom
Summary:
Carlos keeps waking up in Cecil's bed. This would be great, if he knew how he got back there from the Desert Otherworld, or if the timeline wasn't screwed up. Maybe he should work on that.
What I like:
The Christmas scene!!!! Oh my god I absolutely loved the concept of Cecil just going along with The Thing (which I won't spoil for you) and I just LOVE his line after it's all done ("merry Christmas indeed"). It cracks me up every time.
Home for the Holidays by messyfeathers [Complete] Welcome to Night Vale Fandom
Summary:
The invitation to spend Christmas at Carlos's brother's house seemed as good an excuse as any to introduce Cecil to the family. If only years of Night Vale holidays hadn't left Cecil absolutely terrified of jingle bells and Perry Como songs. It's a transition to be sure.
What I like:
I love "meet the family" tropes! I also love Cecil outside Night Vale and this one is really well done.
The Consequences of Dreaming by NoPondInTheForest [Complete] Doctor Who 2005 Fandom
Summary:
Years have passed since the Doctor walked away, leaving the woman he loved behind with his double. Now, traveling with the Ponds, his broken hearts are an old secret, hidden away under the guise of the manic, dynamic alien. So when a mysterious threat arises, compelling him to return to Pete's World, it means risking everything- including his hearts, his secrets, and his sanity. But no is never an option when Rose needs his help.
What I like:
I'm always a slut for Eleven/Rose what can I say? This is extremely well done and I thought how the author handled the whole Eleven/Rose TenTwo/Rose tension arc gracefully. Also Amy and Rory meeting Rose 👀
Coming Out by flutterby_cupcake_26 [Complete] Supernatural Fandom
Summary:
It was a typical love story. They met in college. It was love at first sight, or close enough, and it wasn't long until Dean and Castiel were married. It was pretty close to perfect.
Fast forward seven years: Dean teaches at a high school in his home town in Kansas and Castiel is better known as Jimmy Novak, internationally best-selling author. They spend months apart, and all their time hiding who they really are. But their way of life is threatening to unravel completely, and Dean needs to choose what is more important; his privacy or his husband.
What I like:
I absolutely LOVE established hidden relationships! This fic is amazing in that regard and I felt like the relationships and characters were fleshed out really well.
Blind Marriage by inspiration_assaulted [Complete] BBC Sherlock Fandom
Summary:
Lt John Watson, 25, will do just about anything to stay in the Army, even if it means marrying a man he's never met. It's only for two years, and he'll probably be in Afghanistan the whole time. How much can his life really change?
Sherlock Holmes, 21, is just entering rehab, at his mother's dying request. He can't receive the money she left him, the money he needs to live, unless he gets married. He signs the papers to shut Mycroft up. Besides, it's only for two years, and his husband is on a different continent. How much can his life really change?
What I like:
What do you mean I have a type?? Nahhhh. But haha yeah this is another secret relationship fic. I thought the johnlock in here felt super natural and even though they're apart for most of the fic, I got a lot out of this.
