Aasimar AU (Legend of Zelda)
Due to their contact with the Triforce (or other celestial forces), Zelda, Link and Ganondorf take the forms of aasimar--the only true aasimar in Hyrule. Sages and other devotees of the goddesses may pursue a life as clerics or paladins, but only Zelda, Link and Ganondorf are truly transformed by their contact with the goddesses. Sometimes Link and Zelda reflect Hylia's influence more than Farore's and Nayru's; sometimes it's the other way round. Their appearances vary between incarnations; for example, Skyward Sword Link has skin that appears metallic and eyes that occasionally glow with an ethereal light, while that incarnation of Zelda merely appeared luminous and may have had feathers in her hair prior to her awakening as the goddess. However, all incarnations of the hero and goddess have a presence that commands attention wherever they go, demanding the full attentiveness of those who hear them.
For the most part, Zelda has the abilities of a protector aasimar while Link has the traits of a scourge aasimar. For many of them, the ability to heal with a touch was the first sign of awakening abilities--Breath of the Wild Link erased Zelda's hypothermia at the Spring of Power with a touch.
Long post; more under cut.
While each of the Links has varying aasimar traits to begin with, at a turning point in each of their narratives they gain wings, which are more of a hindrance at first. For instance, Ocarina of Time Link got his wings after finding the Master Sword, while Twilight Princess Link either had his after being transformed back from a wolf for the first time or gained them after saving Colin. Breath of the Wild Zelda gained her wings when she went to face the Calamity alone, but Link may have gotten his after sacrificing himself to protect her or defeating the first Divine Beast. The wings' appearance tends to coincide with when a true commitment to duty is made. While over time they become stronger and more useable, it's often not until after the adventure is over that Link and Zelda become capable of powered flight.
Their aasimar traits often affect how Link and Zelda are treated as children (and would affect Ganondorf in a true reincarnation, such as in one of the Four Sword games, but don't appear until he's seized the Triforce of Power in Ocarina of Time.) While Breath of the Wild Link was viewed as a divine blessing and a good omen against the return of the Calamity, Twilight Princess Link's parents actually fled Hyrule for Ordon (unfortunately dying during the journey, though Link arrived safely in Ordon) because his birth would've been seen as a portent of doom. While Link's life in Ordon was less abnormal than it would have been in Hyrule, he still was seen as strange and unearthly if an overall benign presence, though the children of Ordon adored him. Unlike Skyward Sword Link, most of Twilight Princess Link's aasimar traits were more effects on his environment--plants and people becoming healthier and crops growing more quickly--rather than specific strange traits of appearance. Due to their alignment with Farore, creator of life and living things, most Links have similar effects though not always as pronounced.
As for their wings, I've gone mostly by Linked Universe's interpretations of the character to determine what their wings would be like.
Sky's wings are brown and white, but with red covert feathers similar to his loftwing's. His wings are best suited for long flights and soaring on updrafts. He gained his wings after making the leap of faith to the surface, but still needed the sailcloth for some time after to land safely even though later in his adventure he learned how to glide on his own wings. Post-adventure, he loves to fly side-by-side with his loftwing, Zelda and her loftwing.
Four has hummingbird wings with bird-of-paradise tail feathers. He's the most maneuverable in flight and flies best when in Minish form. He gained the wings relatively late in his adventure, during the rush to save Zelda from Vaati.
Time has wings similar to a hawk or eagle suited to a relatively open habitat, such as plains. Like Sky, he's best at soaring and sustained flight, but struggles to take off from the ground. He has the largest wings, in part due to being the tallest and heaviest. His wings are banded brown, white and tan.
Legend has raven wings, somewhat more iridescent than the average corvid but not quite as much as a grackle. He often prefers walking to flying. I don't know enough about his games to know when he first gained his wings.
Hyrule has barn owl wings--the silent flight helps him to evade monsters. I'm leaning toward him gaining wings after his first use of the transformation spell.
Twilight has the third-largest wingspan after Time and Sky. His wings are broader and shorter, meant for maneuverability and speed in wooded areas, but he's not bad at soaring and prolonged flight though it is exhausting. He's also the strongest in flight--the only one who can carry a teammate other than Four or Wind while flying. His wings are mostly gray--darker gray coverts with softer gray flight feathers, and red-orange highlights just below the coverts on the underside of his wings. Ooccoo tried to teach him to fly, but didn't have much success due to Hylian lacking the technical terms she tried to use.
Wind has albatross wings with a blue-to-white gradient. He gained his wings on leaving Outset Island but took longer to learn even to glide than most of the others. Medli helped him and Tetra learn to fly after he'd defeated Ganondorf and brought them both to gain their scales from Valoo, making them honorary Rito.
Warriors has similar wings to Twilight but his are slightly smaller and he can't carry anyone larger than Wind in flight. He has the brightest coloration of all of them except for Four, which Legend refers to as "warning coloration." He isn't wrong. Cia once tried to hold one of his discarded feathers in her teeth and immediately regretted it. Warriors gained his wings the first time he jumped on a metaphorical grenade for someone else. (I haven't played his game either and don't know much about it.)
Wild either gained his wings after dying to protect Zelda or on defeating his first Divine Beast. Either way, he wouldn't learn to glide without the paraglider until he was on the way to Hateno to see Purah. He has wings like a peregrine falcon as well as the ability to stoop, which Revali would absolutely hate if he'd lived long enough to be on the receiving end. After spending too long airborne, Wild gets fatigued more easily.
