Dating Arthur Conan Doyle Would Include...

A/N: There is smut at some point but it is mentioned, hope you like it!

Him flirting the second you breathe in his general direction.

Giving him an unimpressed look before going back to what you were doing.

This cycle continues for at least a week before he decides that you're a great challenge.

You're the only woman that hasn't submitted to his charms, even worse (or better in Arthur's case) you even found this kind of behaviour rather appalling.

He was determined to make you think differently.

You mostly kept at your task, cleaning and providing for the residents, even befriending them.

You remained indifferent to him however, not being particularly hostile towards him but giving him a scolding if he even thought to speak of another woman as a 'skirt'.

It was when you were both stuck in the basement that you actually got to talking.

Having gone down for Rouge, Arthur thought it was a great idea to follow you down there, claiming he would have some 'alone time' with you.

Which he was right, technically.

You both waited since it was impossible to hear anything from the basement and only hoped someone would come down eventually for more Rouge.

You sat in silence for a while as he tried to strike up conversation but you shut him down immediately mainly because he was quite intimidating with his vampire teasing.

Over what felt was hours for him, he apologised, which caught you completely off guard.

And after some conversation, you decided to give him a second chance.

Surprisingly you both got along when you put aside his...tendencies.

You helped him get inspiration for his books and you read them as soon as he finished writing a chapter.

And being the gentleman he is, he tried to buy you with his charms and anything that might please you.

You clearly made it harder for him, denying anything he would inquire was to your liking and stating "is that what you say to all your women?"

But he wouldn't have you any other way.

He tried, desperately to win you over, whilst keeping his cool of course.

Ironically, he fell for you, and he had absolutely no idea how to cope with it, nor if you reciprocated.

Theo chipped in just to make him look extremely helpless.

It was only amusing to him but he could tell deep down that you were falling hard for him.

It lowkey pissed him off that you were both dancing around at each others' tune and not even knowing it.

At a gala, courtesy of the Comte, you had a little too much to drink and, having had a splitting headache half way, you decided to go to the next room to rest a little bit.

Theo saw you leave, smirking to himself before finding the right time to go up to his friend.

"Did you see Comte being hectic?"

 "Huh?" Arthur's eyes tore away from his glass of alcohol.

"(Y/N) just had severe food poisoning, fortunately she's lost consciousness so she's not in so much pain."

"WHAT? Why aren't we heading home??"

"Comte hosting this remember? He can't leave until the end."

Arthur muttered curse words before questioning where you were and rushing there.

Theo couldn't shake the smug grin on his face for the rest of the evening.

As soon as he got into the room, he shut it close and hovered over the couch you were laying on.

You didn't want to fall completely asleep so you just closed your eyes, assuming whoever entered the room was going to the toilet and not notice you.

It was fine, that's how you wanted it.

Until you heard a familiar voice, in a tone you had only been subject to a few rare times, a behaviour you were exposed to only in fragments, concise enough to understand but blurry enough in being unable to piece it together.

You didn't dare open your eyes.

"I'm so sorry I treated you the way I did before and I know I said I would pull this off so I could steal your heart, but, it seems likes the tables have turned. I'm such an idiot for saying this now, when you might die and-"

"I'm going to die?" Your eyes opened slowly and you leaned over the couch to perceive a shocked Arthur.

"Y-you don't know?"

"Sorry, I meant, I'm not dying, I drank too much."

There was a long pause before he beautifully flushed.

"You mean everything you said?" You had the most hopeful look in your eyes and he wasn't sure what to say, he didn't want to endanger you.

"N-No." He blushed some more and you awkwardly sat up and hugged him tightly.

You never thought you could catch him off guard and just then, you saw how cute and adorable he was.

There was a lot of figuring out afterwards, but you got there.

Him giving you surprise kisses everywhere and anywhere.

Holding his hand regularly.

Having your arms locked together and occasionally placing your head against his shoulder when you are walking around Paris.

Kind of getting along with Theo.

Teaching him how to make coffee because don't want to make it for him every single day.

Him claiming that he likes looking at you and the coffee doesn't taste the same if it's made by someone else.

Going into town when he needs inspiration.

Trying all sorts of food with him, especially when he witnesses the look of pure delight on your face.

Vic loving you.

Wearing his jacket.

Cuddling.

Cradling his head in your lap and more often than not, him falling asleep.

Helping him through hid nightmares, holding him until he falls asleep as well as whispering sweet nothings in his ear to calm him.

Him not wanting to really talk about it so you leave it up to him about when he wants to.

Kissing your hand.

Spoiling you with gifts.

Playing with his hair.

Spooning each other.

Laying on his chest and him nuzzling your hair and neck if you want to hug him.

If you have the mansion to yourself which is way too rarely in his opinion, you'll walk around his room in underwear and only his jacket. It drives him absolutely insane.

Him wanting to take you on vacation outside of Paris regularly.

You braiding his hair once when he was sleeping and the curls only completely came out after nearly a week. He was a little frustrated from everyone’s teasing and frankly caught off guard but he couldn’t stay mad at you.

Using the puppy eyes on each other when you both want something for each other.

It usually works. 

Him refusing to drink your blood outside of foreplay.

But you manage to persuade him.

You never stay mad at each other for long after fights.

Coming up to you and hugging your back when you’re busy in the kitchen.

And him wanting to try food but knowing he’d eat the whole thing before it’s even finished. 

Him liking jotting down notes when he’s laying in your lap.

i have never! been to a concert, ive just never had the chance :/

i have! sneaked out, but it was with the help of my mum where my dad didn't know lmao ehejenjdhen

i have! gone through both a one direction and bts phase. 1D came first and it lasted for almost half a year i believe? and i discovered bts in 2018 thanks to my friend, but i started exploring and eventually drifted apart from them in early 2020. jungkook still has a special place in my heart tho :)) 

i have! had a irl crush actually :'D he actually knew i liked him but did nothing at all and we remained pretty good friends, but he stopped talking to me about over a year ago, and i lowkey don't wanna admit it but i miss him sometimes :')

i have! performed in front of a crowd, i was in a storytelling competition when i was 9 and 10, and then i learned to play the erhu when i was 12 and performed a few times :)) 

i have! fic wise, i also love by-moonflowers fics sm! T^T i read her tokyo ghoul au and i actually didn't have a clue what tokyo ghoul was, i looked it up on wikipedia before reading it djbfkdhdjd and her exes confront each other series was really amazing too. and im rambling but her jeonghan magic au, all the stars we steal, that was probably the first fic of her's i read and it hit something in me and i really wish i could read it again like it was the first time 😔 i really loved it sm. book wise, i will never forget jodi picoult's small great things. and also like any book reader, ps. i love you is definitely a favourite of mine :') it was so touching and i just genuinely really love that story. 

i have! there's quite a lot of moments like that, but this one where i went on vacation in the mountains? we stayed at a very nice place. on the first day i was really tired so i slept til the evening, and when i woke up it was drizzling and there's was quite a breeze, so i sat in front of the open door of my room. in front was a swimming pool so i just put on some music and watched the rain drop into the pool. it was the most relaxed i had felt in a while and i wish i could go back :') 

i would say i have! when we can talk anon off i'll tell you which one, but i really enjoyed writing this one drabble/oneshot and im glad other people seemed to like it as well :DD

and ofc i have! i met seventeen when i was pretty down, and i treasure them the most now. they helped me through a lot and really changed me and im really grateful to them
