Glamtober | Day 04: Aldenard
I wasn't sure I was going to do this one, but then I decided to see if I could put together something cute with one piece from each of the sets at the Gold Saucer. Ishgardian boots, glade slops, riviera shirt, and the gambler's gloves to (sort of) represent Ul'dah.
She would make the cutest little NPC in this. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

Tour of the Realm day 3 Today I found myself wandering around Lower La Noscea in the earliest hours of the day, the gentle light and warmth from the rising sun caught my notice as the dark slowly turned to light, I couldn't help but stop and stare as the sun's pleasant rays shone through the trees next to one of La Noscea's Iconic windmills.

Finished scholar leveling and we're not touching it again until next expac. Switching between SCH and SGE confuses me because the order of skill application to accomplish something is basically reversed.

I have a mighty desire to know of the Major General incident
it's one of my many FAVORITE little "how did fornax get this scar" stories
all the way back in pre-arr, fornax was out fishing on a coast of lower la noscea (likely for food) and they were perched up on a rock with their tail just chilling in the water
so the end of fornax's tail lacks the thick protective scales on the topside due to picking at/ripping them off constantly as a kid, so that part of her tail is just the thin layer of smaller scales + flesh. a very prime target for fish, especially with how it's tapered off and might mimic a worm and whatnot
what she didn't expect....... was for something like the major general to chomp on it LMAO so initially fornax thought it was a big fish, they pull their tail out from the water, and are blessed with the sight of a tiny shark with.... tiny legs!! they were briefly the math lady dot png before processing the pain of the bite and practically yeeting it back out into the ocean with a panicked and violent twirl of their tail. not many believe their tale of their incident with this miniscule creachure

Leather Bridle gets a talking-to about brawling.
—————
Leather Bridle and Thrashing Coeurl sat in an office in front of a grey-bearded Elezen Yellowjacket captain. Both sported assorted cuts and bruises, having been apprehended mid-brawl. The Yellowjacket folded his arms and slumped back in his chair, looking disappointed. “I expected better from both of you,” he said. “You're both adventurers, you’ve both started making honourable names for yourselves around La Noscea, and yet you started a tavern brawl like common sea dogs.”
“It wasn't my fault,” said Thrashing Coeurl, his eyes wide and voice incredulous like he didn't know why he could possibly be in trouble and in fact was offended at the suggestion that he might carry any guilt. “She threw the first punch!”
The Yellowjacket pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. “Don't put on that act, it's not going to work on me. All the witnesses we questioned confirmed you were antagonising Ms. Bridle. Frankly, you're lucky she held off as long as she did.” He wrote something down on a slip of paper and handed it to a lower-ranked Yellowjacket standing behind him. “See that Mr. Coeurl is escorted to the clerk and this punishment is logged in the ledger. And don't let him wriggle out of it.”
The aide saluted and took Thrashing Coeurl by the arm, escorting him out of the room, who protested the whole way. “But I didn't do nothin’! I’m innocent!”
When the door closed behind them, Leather Bridle looked back at the captain. He was leaning on the desk, his expression softened a little. She recognized this expression from schoolteachers about to tell her about living up to her potential. “This is your first season as an adventurer, and your first offence, so while I can't let you off scot-free, I’ll give you the lightest punishment I can, along with some advice,” said the captain. “Don’t just sally forth into the melee with everyone that insults your mother or you’ll not last a day out there. A lot of sailors around here are thinner skinned than you, and they never amount to much. I can tell from your record with the guild that you have higher ambitions than swabbing decks. Don't squander your talent on worthless lugs like him. The next time this happens, I won't be so lenient. Am I understood?”
Leather Bridle swallowed and nodded. “Yes sir.”

Prompt #1: Steer

[ Music for this piece: x ] I highly recommend combining this with the ambient bgm from Lower La Noscea ( 23.8 , 40.5 )

When Ky let his mind wander too much, his feet would often guide him through the market, up past the Aftcastle and further southward 'til the tower spires were mere pinpoints behind him. Even as the sun rose, dyeing the eastern horizon in a kaleidoscope of purple, pink, and golden hues, his whole body resisted the urge to admire the scenery. Instead, he squinted with bleary eyes through the early morning fog and out toward the west.
How far was Yyasulani from here again? He gripped the crumpled parchment in his fist tighter. The serious tone of his teacher's last letter was abnormal, to say the least. The old fossil was a windbag who loved the sound of his own voice, so the short, simple sentences and shaky lines made Ky's skin crawl.
"Is there truly a giant dome made of lightning out there?" He wondered aloud, standing on tiptoe and craning his neck as though it would help him notice anything unusual.
He huffed and rocked backward onto his heels, rolling the stiffness out of his shoulders. A seagull glided overhead, crying out as if to jeer, 'Of course you can't see Tural from here, fool!'
Ky shook his head slowly. The seaside breeze was beginning to pick up and push puffy white clouds into view. They would burn off by noon, but the old Shetona would rather not experience getting the tips of his ears sun-singed again. Not after the last time.
After shoving the mangled envelope into a coat pocket, he shouldered his knapsack and murmured to himself, "Back to work, now."
The hike back to the city proper was slow, and there were many detours, but he would make it back by lunchtime.
Probably.
