@checkeditoutchicago is on its fifth event. For years CIO participants past and present have been asking us to create a grill badge. As creative direction for #check22 we can finally say that time has come. Building upon our reputation, it could not just be any old grill badge. After our artist collab with @roco_drilo was completed, it became rather apparent to us that ‘the bird’ in a rather large, gold grill badge would be some what of a feat. And importantly, something we have not seen before. Combine that with Checkeditout’s 2022 logo work by @dazzo.c and our purple theme for the year and we had a plan. Or rather an idea. Who was going to execute our first grill badge? Ideas are great, but we had to go to Bryan at @achtungkraft to make the badge reality. It took some time to get the art prepared for creating the badge, plus careful consideration went into getting the colors right. The final product could not make us more proud to be part of this project. The specifics: The Grill Badge will be dropped at the Checkeditout ‘Preview Party’ featuring the Porsche Restoration Challenge cars. Friday August 26th, tickets are available in the Checkeditout bio. 100 grill badges were created, limited to one per person. Last weekend on cords at @pca_chicago autocross at @tirerack HQ. A bit of a drift show, the challenge was fun, the times were not. Tire Rack shipped us @falkentire RT660 for the 3.2 and 996 this week. This weekend’s near 1100 mile trip was a walk in Schenley Park attending the @pghvintagegp with @pca_chicago Over the weekend we gave Grand Marshal @ray.shaffer one of the first @checkeditoutchicago / @achtungkraft grill badges. Ray said it’ll go in the @porsche archives in Atlanta. Ain’t that cool? From here on out, there will be very few appearances from us until we get to the Checkeditout Preview Party (some tickets remain). However there is one event for Porsche Classic owners only, on the 6th from @westmont_porsche If you register for Check22, you will get an invite. This season is going to be light on racing for us, more rallies, trips and events. But when we corded the rear @yokohamatire A052s at @tirerack Saturday we thought about finishing them off in the afternoon session. Ending up needing a tow to get back to Chicago, just seemed like a bad idea. So, when @gt3_lfg came through with offering a co-drive, it was gladly accepted. The GT car was a beast, what can we say?
