could i also get a diya reading…? i heavily relate to art but my favorite character is tashi, especially pre-stanford to stanford era tashi!! I feel so heavily for her :((

US Junior Open and Stanford era Tashi is so full of hope to me. She is optimistic and has a plan, and above all it really does feel like she is going to get there. I think a part of why she is so captivating (both to Art and Patrick in the film and to us as the audience) is this liveliness! It's magnetic, just pulling you in, the type of energy you want to have in your life. Even as she gets older this still remains.

Now there is so much I can say about Art, but loving Tashi itself is Art behavior. Beyond his love for her, there is a deep respect and admiration of her skill, talent and resilience he craves. It feeds into his love and is also why he wanted her as his coach in the first place. This yearning is a key part of their dynamic.
