Her mom Jenny is a nice lady, very goal-oriented.. she was very popular in high school, which is how she met Helena’s dad. He’s originally from germany and comes from a long line of vampire hunters and religious zealots (Society of Leopold hoes..), doesn’t really know anything about it though. His family are just a bunch of weird catholics. They had two children, miss Helena & her little Sister, Elizabeth before he divorced his wife and fucked off 👋. He cut off all contact and doesn’t pay child support bc he’s a freak. Also Elizabeth is currently studying law somewhere, their mother insisted they make something of themselves >:(

She’s with the camarilla, mostly due to the fact that Christian is in it too. She came to them all starry-eyed because the other members were all sexy, powerful and rich vampires which is pretty much what she wants to be like lmao.. She works directly for Lacroix, kinda like the fledgling except with better pay, slightly less shitty jobs and a tiny bit more respect (only a tiny bit everyone still thinks she’s dumb af). She just has to run small errants lol. There’s no official rank or title though lol.

She’s not really loyal to them or anything and quickly becomes disillusioned by it all. Vampire society is fucked up... she kinda starts spending more time with the Hollywood anarchs because toreador solidarity, doesn’t join their cause though. The anarchs can’t stand her lmao. Cassandra (from greek “to excel, to shine “) is a little nod to the seer Cassandra, who appears somewhere in her bloodline :^) In-universe it’s one of those names that appear throughout her family.. there are a bunch of important great-grandmothers, aunts and other relatives so her parents named her that to make it look like they’re an important dynasty or something. Rich people bs. Erin is an english derivative of the irish word for.. Ireland lmao. It was just one of those names that were popular in the early 80′s and her mother liked it, there’s no real reason behind it!

goddd jt was pretty much regular late 90s/early 2000s popular girl before her embrace.. short skirts, juicy tracksuits, tube tops, those awful tinted glasses, coats with fake fur. Her hair was often in those late 90′s updos with a few streaks hanging loose in the front... makeup is just regular looks from the time, lipgloss, frosty eyeshadow and all that 🤢 she’s a big fan of turtleneck sweaters though 😌

I mean, French tends to be very poetic and uses a lot of words to describe one things; while English is very short and precise. It’s hard to convey certain feelings through that language :’T ... when I write in French, my paragraphs are way bigger than when I write in English x’D

13. does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions or traditions that might seem strange to outsiders? Hmmm, idk. My grandma has that weird thing going on that she can tell if the winter is going to be rough only by looking at onions throughout the summer/autumn. IT’S AN OLD THING.

14. do you enjoy your country’s cinema and/or TV? For humor, I have to agree that Québec has a very good sense of it. Otherwise, I think most TV shows and movies are shit. It’s poorly funded most of the time and they tend to be dramatic/family drama most of the time. It sucks balls and I’m bored of it. Québecers are thirsty for it though, holy fuck!

16. which stereotype about your country you hate the most and which one you somewhat agree with? That we’re all nice and polite and very accepting. Half bullshit, half truth. A lot of people here are very racist, but a good portion of them still have a good heart and will help others in times of need. Québec people are very family centered and heart-warming.

I’ve seen some French Canadian characters in some animated movies and I think even live action movies ? They tend to give them French from France accents, but otherwise it’s not much. I think Québecers and French accents are very different when they’re speaking in English.

Last movie I saw: Um... I’ve mostly been watching a lot of shows instead of movies... With that being the case, I’m pretty sure the last movie I saw was Into the Spider-Verse.

Last thing I googled: "unarmed strike 5e” - I was trying to refresh myself of the specifics of it while working on a new character for the campaign I run.

Favourite musician: My music tastes are pretty eclectic, but for the sake of answering this question, I’ll say Panic! At the Disco.

Play any instruments: I used to play violin a long time ago, but it was when I was a kid that never wanted to practice and therefore stopped playing. Now I wish I had kept at it so that I could play Celtic music.

Languages: English is my primary language. I can follow conversations and media in Spanish, but my conversational skills are stilted because I’m always too shy to practice them. I can also pick out the barest minimum of Tagalog words and phrases because of my mom’s parents.

Favourite songs: As mentioned earlier, I’ve got pretty eclectic music tastes, but currently I’m living for Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” because I just... I really needed this song after leaving my ex. (On a happier note, the Spider-Verse was freaking amazing, and I’ve had that on repeat on Spotify for a while.)

Here is everything I know about France: Madeline and Amélie and Moulin Rouge. The Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, although I have no idea what the function of either actually is. Napoleon, Marie Antoinette, and a lot of kings named Louis. I’m not sure what they did either, but I think it has something to do with the French Revolution, which has something to do with Bastille Day. The art museum is called the Louvre and it’s shaped like a pyramid and the Mona Lisa lives there along with that statue of the woman missing her arms. And there are cafés or bistros or whatever they call them on every street corner. And mimes. The food is supposed to be good, and the people drink a lot of wine and smoke a lot of cigarettes. I’ve heard they don’t like Americans, and they don’t like white sneakers. A few months ago, my father enrolled me in boarding school. His air quotes practically crackled over the phone line as he declared living abroad to be a “good learning experience” and a “keepsake I’d treasure forever.” Yeah. Keepsake. And I would’ve pointed out his misuse of the word had I not already Stephanie Perkins | 5 been freaking out. Since his announcement, I’ve tried yelling, begging, pleading, and crying, but nothing has convinced him otherwise. And now I have a new student visa and a passport, each declaring me: Anna Oliphant, citizen of the United States of America. And now I’m here with my parents—unpacking my belongings in a room smaller than my suitcase—the newest senior at the School of America in Paris. It’s not that I’m ungrateful. I mean, it’s Paris. The City of Light! The most romantic city in the world! I’m not immune to that. It’s just this whole international boarding school thing is a lot more about my father than it is about me. Ever since he sold out and started writing lame books that were turned into even lamer movies, he’s been trying to impress his big-shot New York friends with how cultured and rich he is. My father isn’t cultured. But he is rich. It wasn’t always like this. When my parents were still married, we were strictly lower middle class. It was around the time of the divorce that all traces of decency vanished, and his dream of being the next great Southern writer was replaced by his desire to be the next published writer. So he started writing these novels set in Small Town Georgia about folks with Good American Values who Fall in Love and then contract Life-Threatening Diseases and Die. I’m serious. And it totally depresses me, but the ladies eat it up. They love my father’s books and they love his cable-knit sweaters and they love his bleachy smile and orangey tan. And they have turned him into a Anna and the French Kiss | 6 bestseller and a total dick. Two of his books have been made into movies and three more are in production, which is where his real money comes from. Hollywood. And, somehow, this extra cash and pseudo-prestige have warped his brain into thinking that I should live in France. For a year. Alone. I don’t understand why he couldn’t send me to Australia or Ireland or anywhere else where English is the native language. The only French word I know is oui, which means “yes,” and only recently did I learn it’s spelled o-u-i and not w-e-e. At least the people in my new school speak English. It was founded for pretentious Americans who don’t like the company of their own children. I mean, really. Who sends their kid to boarding school? It’s so Hogwarts. Only mine doesn’t have cute boy wizards or magic candy or flying lessons. Instead, I’m stuck with ninety-nine other students. There are twenty-five people in my entire senior class, as opposed to the six hundred I had back in Atlanta. And I’m studying the same things I studied at Clairemont High except now I’m registered in beginning French. Oh, yeah. Beginning French. No doubt with the freshmen. I totally rock. Mom says I need to lose the bitter factor, pronto, but she’s not the one leaving behind her fabulous best friend, Bridgette. Or her fabulous job at the Royal Midtown 14 multiplex.
