Mist was quiet. Thinking over their friendship over the years. How Cayde acted, mulled over memories. Missions, thinking over everything. Mists eyes close behind her helmet and her head rests back against the seat. Staying quiet for a few long moments.
Her tone was hard to place, mixtures of regret and fondness laced in her words at the mention of how odd their 'friendship' was. "I suppose, but in this life, you'll find you can have friends you feel like you've known them forever, you just." her hand raises and her fingers snap once. "Click." Mist lifted her head watching the scenery pass through the pilots' window as the trees near the city came into view. Her thoughts were still mixed. Not the ideal mindset she wanted to have before a fight. But it gave her something she needed to discuss with Cayde. Especially after last nights debacle went so awry. "We have..." Mist tilted her head to the side, feeling the ship slowly go to a halt. The door to the left of Selene hissing as it opens. A fresh blast of cool morning air quickly letting itself in. Mist pressed her hands on her legs as she stood up moving to the opening. Her cape billowing with the air. "I suppose on the outside it could seem weird." She finally chuckled at the absurdity of it all. Turning her head to see the uncertainty laid over the young hunters face. "Sweetling, a guardian is just a title. Don't let it stir you thinking you can't do, see or feel things that you want to enjoy." Looking down below the ship. Watching the tall grass and wildflowers billowing away the morning dew from the blasts of air from the Hawks engines. Mist leapt from the hull, free falling for a moment. Letting a blast of light puff from under her breaking her fall. Her head titled upward waiting for Selene when the other hunter meet her on the ground. "Even for exos, those words stand. But that discussion is much longer and probably one you should have with Cayde. And he can tell you about the story with the hand cannon." Mist gestured for Selene to follow once more, the hunter slowly started into a brisk pace towards the city wall that hung high above the trees. "I will tell you this, the vanguard to a point doesn't... like when guardians get.. close. Close enough to form things if you catch what I'm hinting at, but were hunters." Mists voice chimes a little optimistically. "When do we do what were told."
As the ship rumbled and began to take off.
Mist watched Selenes expressions. Knowing full well that she had wronged the new light in her coldness. Her eyes closed behind her helmet, and she sighed out her first words. "I meet Cayde for the first time in the tower meeting room. Cayde, Zavala and Ikora all at their big white table. Cayde had this stupid giant map that had footprints all over it from hunters running across the table." "We have had a few run ins now and the getting bounties and patrols but nothing more than 'hey guardian, no refunds.'. He was nice, I" "I know he wasn't exactly treated... the best so." Her shoulders lift then settle back down, "I stole his guitar to have it fixed. A few other little things that made us acquittances. Maybe me a nuisance.'' Mist tried to remember a few things that would have 'made' them friends, but she couldn't place it.
"But the Siva incident changed it all." Mist felt Sunspot nudge against her neck, her heart thumping a little harder as she reminisced. "After I lost my arm, I woke up in the Iron temple. All I remember was, I was screaming. But Cayde was there with Saladin while the medics took care of me." she glanced at her left hand, her thumb stroking over the gloved servo. "I kept crying his name as he just sat there talking me through everything. Til they sedated me. Woke up a few days later in a medical bed. Cayde sleeping in the corner. Sunspot informed me he stayed the entire time. 'One of his hunters'." Mist lifted her hands quoting her fingers in the air, before letting them rest on her lap. "Its the excuse, er- reason he gave me." Behind her mask she bit at her bottom lip thinking over the what had happened last night on the lake shore. Guilt tugging at her.
"After that he kept an eye on me. Got me into more trouble than I have fingers on both my hands. He's.. sweet when he wants to be. Mostly covers it with offers to shops for food but you end up paying instead." Mists hand rolled to the side nonchalantly. The dull lights overhead shined off her vambraces as her arm moved, //Ten minutes til transmat, guardians.// Amandas voice came through. Drawing Mist back into what they were doing. Mist glanced upward to Selene, "Stories or not. Cayde does care about his hunters. He does, shows it in weird ways. But he means well. Someways its offering a drink at a fire side. Or handing over a new toy at the price of a few glimmer."
