This is the pain and stiffness that felt in your muscles several hours to days after unaccustomed or strenuous exercise. The soreness is felt most strongly 24 to 72 hours after the exercise. BNC Seniors Black and Jerra Joeys Teal went head to head in round 6 of the season on Sat. Missing three strong team members, plus a first game of the season for Bec after injury, BNC could not predict how the match would sway. BNC had the first centre, but Jerra came out with vigour, overturning and sinking the first shot. Jerra proceeded to turn over and deliver goals, gaining a solid lead. With an adjustment to positions by the coach, the second quarter saw BNC fight for their unbeaten status. With some key intercepts and effective delivery into the shooters, BNC quickly closed the margin, overtaking the opposition in the third quarter 31/30. In defence, Jenny and Sophie played tightly on their players whilst Candice played area defence to pick off passes. Our defensive team turned over many balls, which were delivered to the shooters.  Our centre court players, Beth, Bec and Em B had brilliant ball control and passing down the court. Special mention to Bec for her excellent ball placement into the shooters and Em B for her tenacious and assertive ball play in the second half. Shooters Danni and Sue moved fluently around their defenders in the circle, shooting beautifully and rebounding with intensity. It was a fantastic game with good sportsmanship by both teams, with Jerra giving BNC a real run for their money. Whilst it was a slow start for BNC, we brought it home in the fourth quarter, closing the game with a win 44/35.
