The New Scooby Doo Movies S1 E9-12
9. The Spooky Fog of Juneberry
Tumblr media
As a heads up, this will be a fairly negative set of four episodes! It does get more positive in the following review though!
After the gang is pulled over by guest star Don Knotts, a policeman, who brings them back to Juneberry with him to aid in the ongoing mystery.
For me, this episode contains all the issues I have with the abundance of villains they frequently use in the New Movies. Firstly, we open this episode knowing there is a mystery unfolding, it’s the central plot point, yet we don’t meet any of the seven ghouls until halfway through the episode.
Alex Toth designed most of the ghosts in this episode, alongside several others that went unused. The model sheets for them show just how beautiful some of the designs can be, most of the model sheets that can be found are just awful quality, but his for this episode and episode seven are crisp, they demonstrate such creativity for the character designs and it’s a shame not all of them got to see the light of day! I don’t love how crowded many episodes feel, but this comes from them under utilising these characters! I think if we got to see them all, then I’d love having them included!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These great designs get hardly any time on screen, some mere seconds, they are background assets. It’s so frustrating, especially when other more bland designs get entire episodes to rule over.
This is not to mention that many of these characters have reused audio’s from other characters. The giggles and groans of other monsters being used for new ones highlights just how cheap the show was, and of course, it makes sense if they’re hardly shown, but it then begs the question, why bring them into the show in the first place?
Alex Toth’s artwork is great and he worked as a character designer on The Scooby Doo Show, the next incarnation of the series, although I can't find anywhere who he designed!
We see the return of Don Knotts in this episode, which I find all the more funny because he’s once again playing a character here, it’s so much fun to see them continue this gag.
I enjoy the haunting idea of this episode; I also love that ghosts pop up here and there, but this is as much praise as I can give the episode - in concept, it’s great. Centering the story around Juneberry, one of many references to the Andy Griffith Show, is a great idea, it’s thick with atmosphere!
I wish it was a stronger episode - so many pieces are there, but like most in this series, it just drags on and doesn’t get started until the halfway point.
10. The Ghost of Bigfoot
Tumblr media
The Ghost of Bigfoot follows the gang meeting Laurel and Hardy while on a ski trip, only to learn that the lodge is haunted, which forces the two groups to work as a team to thwart Bigfoot.
I didn’t love this episode, and I wanted to contrast it to a Where are You episode to explain why! I’ve realised it’s probably dull hearing me simply repeat that I found these boring.
The episode “That’s Snow Ghost” from season one of Where are You follows the gang heading to a ski resort, only to find the lodges haunted by a yeti. Both these episodes share similar premises, settings and villains. Ostensibly, their bones are the same, but their flesh creates a pair of wildly different episodes.
In that episode, the gang arrive at the lodge, they meet the weird and wacky cast of characters (genuinely some of the weirdest in the series) who warn the gang about a snow ghost, who they subsequently see. This leads into them searching for footprints in the snow and all around the resort for clues to stop the monster. This is a fairly linear plot, however, it still is able to stop for gags with the gang.
In contrast, this episode sees the gang arriving at the lodge around five minutes into the episode, before this they stop to aid the guest stars Laurel and Hardy. After checking in, we linger on the pair for a gag sequence, which is followed by them meeting the monster and hijinks ensuing, before the gang then also meet this monster. Afterwards, we follow more Laurel and Hardy gags, before watching the gang wandering around the resort, which leads to more gags before we cut back to the hotel later, where Laurel and Hardy continue to have a sequence of gags. This leads into them stumbling upon a missing man, so the gang all congregate, leading into the final ten minute scene, which is continuously broken up for Laurel and Hardy gags.
While both episodes have slapstick and comedy driven tangents, the first episode never breaks far away from the plot at hand. It’s not a perfect episode, but it keeps me engaged and interested. On the other hand, this episode loses me so quickly because the gang is only really seen with the pair, meanwhile the pair are seen so frequently. It feels evident the writers loved writing them, because the majority of this episode is simply a Laurel and Hardy story.
I don’t love this bigfoot design too much either, it’s fine, the creature is lanky and hunched, which pairs perfectly with the agape mouth and small eyes the creature has. These also work perfectly with the big bushy grey beard and eyebrows the monster bears, which gives the design an old man style to it. Despite the name, the creature feels closer to a yeti than anything. However, the design also bears these long streaks of grey down the monster's back and arms, which come across almost like shading, but sometimes like hair. I simply can’t tell, but it sours the design for me unfortunately.
Tumblr media
As much as I love the setting, I found myself bored by it given the fact we spent most of our time in silly Laurel and Hardy gags but on ice. When we do get to see the gang, for example in the lodge, they really shine and it aids in making the setting feel so fun!
And of course, it’s always fun to see the gang in different outfits, with their pyjamas and snow designs both present.
11. The Ghost of the Red Baron
Tumblr media
Around halfway into this episode I wrote into my notes “If you removed the three stooges from this episode, I’d be enjoying it!”
To remove the guest stars from this series would be to tear apart the series, and truly, I do love that they’re here. However, in episodes like this or the previous one, a pattern shines that when I dislike a guest star, it tarnishes the entire episode.
This formula could and does work, my issues with these episodes tend to boil down to the same three problems: They’re too long, the guest is uninteresting, the villain sucks.
Cornfields are a personal favourite setting of mine, hell I’ve sat through the entirety of the Children of the Corn franchise, I adore this little setting. And while I don’t love planes, I do love The Wind Rises, which simply shows to me that if done correctly, I can be made to care about anything!
Simply, the episode is about the gang and the stooges attempting to stop the ghost of a WWI pilot from ruining a field of crops. The Baron is actually a pretty good villain for the episode! The Red Baron was a German fighter pilot in WWI, and is often considered the ace of aces. This then feeds into the scarlet shade of the design, which was the colour of his plane. Both him and his plane share this same shade, which rises from his aviator's jacket to his hat, the glasses of which shroud any eyes which gives a great edge to the design. I also enjoy the touch of the scarf even if it’s kind of misplaced. Designing this character after an actual German soldier is an interesting way of creating a villain that ultimately, I don’t love. However, I do like this design and the villain himself has menace, so viewing the character in a vacuum, I’m a fan.
Come the end of the episode, we watch a dog fight, and while I don’t love it too much, I do at least appreciate that we’re doing something new.
12. Ghostly Creep from the Deep
Tumblr media
The most common guest star across the series is the Harlem Globetrotters. The basketball team had a Hanna Barbera cartoon that ran from 1970-1972, and I can only assume that a lot of the animation here was re-used. The show followed the team alongside their fictional bus driver, Granny, and dog mascot Dribbles, which highlights perfectly how Scooby had an influence on the show! These episodes would usually follow the team getting caught up in some sort of conflict as they travel, which would lead to them playing a basketball match to settle it.
The Harlem Globetrotters episodes even got their own DVD and VHS releases, but for some reason, this episode isn’t present on them.
Simply, I am going to show an image of this episode's villains.
Tumblr media
The show has always been run on a shoestring budget, frequently reusing animation and in this series, the monsters sometimes have reused voice lines (much to my dismay). But having this episode’s villains be entirely white recolours of the pirates from Go Away Ghost Ship is egregious.
Tumblr media
These villain’s lack any personality or flair, they are blank slates dressed in the clothes of their fantastic predecessors. It is impossible to get attached to these guys having seen that episode, which is undoubtedly a favourite of mine. They are bland, void of any personality or creativity.
The Globetrotters kind of blend into a single basketball playing entity for me, so I do appreciate at the very least that they play basketball! Maybe this goes on for too long, sure, but at the very least it isn’t the ten minute sequence that I will be forced to endure later on in the series :D
I have nothing more to add, my favourite sequence was the gang playing basketball against the Globetrotters and watching in awe as both teams cheated.

Chapter 16
Apparently Jade is Scorpia’s sister. They start preparing a Feast. I look around, it's crazy. We get different clothes too.
Tumblr media
I walk with Kit. Around us Bone reavers are Dancing.
J: That’s different. No stupid gowns. We can be us.
She smiles and grabs my Hand. We go and Stand by a Tree. when Boorman steps next to us.
B: You were ok with me getting Killed ?
J: Oh, please. The look on her face told me she wouldn’t Kill you. Maybe hurt you but kill you ? Nah. You have some sort of backstory.
B: I told you, everything would be all right. I have a plan.
S: Slaves of Galladoorn, conscripts of Nockmaar, outlaws of the Wildwood.
They start Cheering.
S: All we have ever wanted is our Freedom. That our Children would not live in Fear. They’d serve no master, Daikini or Troll or Crone. We have no Barrier to hide behind, no Army to defend us. All we have is the fear that our masks evoke, the determination to survive and Each other.
She grabs Jade's hand. I smile.
S: Today after Two hundred Moons, my sister has come Home.
They cheer for her.
S: She grew up in Tir Asleen, was fed lies about us and about herself.
Ok that makes me kinda sad
S: But tonight she is reborn bathed in the Love of her Family and the Values that we still fight for. Freedom, rebellion, passion, and Joy. To the break of Dawn !
They cheer. Then they give around Bowls with something inside. I look at Scorpia who nods.
K: What is it ?
B: I don’t know. Delicious-looking Fruit. Live a little.
He eats his and walks off. I look at Kit shrug and we both eat ours. It really tastes Weird.
J: That’s interesting.
We both laugh. The bone reavers start dancing. I start a drinking battle with one of the Bone reavers and when he falls off his Chair I win. The others cheer and Kit hugs me from behind. When I see Graydon without a beard I start Laughing.
J: Hey Baby face looking good.
He looks away Embarrassed. Me and Kit start dancing. My hand on her Waist, hers around my Neck. I see Jade on the side and pull Kit with me to her.
J: Hey.
K: How you feeling ?
Ja: Weird, but good. What about you ?
J: Also, weird.
Ja: That's Truth plums for you, I guess.
K: Those are what Plums ?
Ja: The truth plums.
J: Those fruits that were given to us ?
Ja: Once you eat them, it’s Impossible to be anything but totally honest.
K: Oh, right. We didn’t know that.
J: Guess now we do.
We nod.
K: So now you’re a …
Ja: Yeah. I guess. Still can’t quite believe it.
We chuckle.
Ja: Why did Sorsha lie to me ?
K: Maybe she thought she was protecting you.
Ja: Did you know ?
J,K: No.
K: But I suspected.
Ja: And you didn’t tell me.
J: Or me ?
K: Well, what was I supposed to say ? That I have a funny feeling that you might, in fact, be the very thing you vowed to destroy ? At best you would’ve thought I was Crazy and at worst it would’ve broken your heart.
Ja: Well, you’re certainly the expert on breaking hearts.
She walks off.
K: Jade, wait.
J: Why didn’t you tell me ?
K: You would have sentenced me Mad.
J: You’re right. I’ll be right back ok ?
She nods.
K: I need to think anyway.
J: Come to me when you’re finished Ok ?
She nods. I give her a kiss and walk after Jade.
J: Jade.
Ja: Don’t ..
J: I won’t protect her about that. She hurt your feelings.
Ja: Did you think that too ?
J: No. I knew you were Different yes. But … That no. I’m happy for you.
She hugs me.
J: She’ll apologise.
Ja: Hopefully not now.
J: Nah. She lets you be angry for a time. She’ll come around.
She nods.
J: Wanna be alone ?
Ja: Yep.
I nod and go sit down. Someone sits down next to me. Toth.
J: Hi.
He hands me a beer.
T: You’re a feisty one.
I chuckle and take a sip.
J: Nah I’m just protecting what's mine.
T: ‘S the princess your Wife ?
J: Not yet.
T: What are you waiting for ? She’s already Pregnant.
J: I dunno. The Right moment. ‘S not like we have many options out here.
T: You are here. And we throw mad Parties.
I look at him.
J: You would …
S: We have a Officiant.
I flinch and look at Scorpia.
J: Uh … I would in a Second but not Today. Todays about Jade.
She smiles.
S: You’re good friends.
J: It’s also not up to me.
I take a look around for Kit. Who is currently talking to Jade. I smile.
T: What are you waiting for ?
S: Ask her. The worst thing she can do is say No. But considering how you look at each other.
I look in my Cup. Drain the rest and get up.
J: Ok I can do that.
I start walking then turn around.
J: Nope.
Toth puts a hand on my shoulder.
T: Do it Kiddo or I will carry you to her.
I start walking again. Kit and Jade look at me.
J: Hi. You good again ?
Jade nods.
J: Good.
I turn to Kit.
J: Can we talk ?
She nods.
J: Alone.
Jade gets the message and leaves.
K: Is something wrong ?
J: No. God no. Uh … wow that is harder than I thought …
K: Jane ?
She lays a hand on my shoulder.
J: Will you Marry me ?
She looks at me confused.
K: Uh … you already asked me that ?
J: I mean tomorrow ? Like officially. Here.
She raises her eyebrows.
J: It’s Ok if you say No. I mean we’re in a Hurry and it’s not the best Timing and …
She kisses me. Then she leans her forehead against mine.
K: Yes.
I look at her.
J: Really ?
K: Yes Really.
I kiss her again. After a few hours. In which we danced, ate and had fun. The first retreat to their tents. Kit Yawns.
B: Tired already ?
She nods.
S: I’ll show you your Tent.
We stand up and follow her.
S: This one’s yours. Sleep well.
J: You too.

Thanks for the tag @lovely-tothe-bone Lol, yes I did read that one a very long time ago. @lemonluvgirl I’m not familiar with ‘Supernatural’ but I enjoyed it as well, and everything else by Kismet. Unfortunately a couple of good ones are unfinished and/or have been removed. Makes me want to re-read what’s there, though. Thanks for the reminder!
Has anyone ever read this fic: Too Precious for this World? I usually am not into crossovers but I seriously enjoyed this one.

Idk if this will help buuuut fluff prompt:
Everlark + cotton candy?
Ask and you shall receive.
-----
“Katniss, look!”
Prim excitedly points at the Ferris wheel that’s been erected in the center of District 12. Her blue eyes round as they walk under the red and white archway and enter the carnival. Around them are sights that they never thought they’d see or have even heard of.
To one side are several booths with games to play; the prizes are small stuffed animals or other trinkets. To the other side are booths selling food and drink that the citizens of District 12 are all eager to try. The lines are numerous and everywhere there’s loud chatter to which Katniss grimaces.
“Cotton candy!” Prim suddenly calls out. She takes her sister’s hand dragging her towards the line. “Molly in class had it when she went to visit her cousin in District 1. She said it’s like eating a sugar cloud. We have to get some!”
“Well, if Molly says…” Katniss drawls. However, she can’t resist Prim’s pleading blues and her mouth rises in a smile. “Alright, let’s get in line.”
++++++
“Cotton candy!”
Peeta turns at the joyful cry, just in time to see Katniss and Prim Everdeen rushing past him. His hand rises to say hello, but quickly draws down seeing that they haven’t noticed his presence.
Katniss will never notice him.
It’s not her fault really. However, since they were children, he has noticed her. Since that day in school when she stood up in class, strong and proud with her two long pigtails flowing behind her, and belted the most beautiful rendition of The Valley Song that his young ears ever heard.
They’ve grown up together. She’s friendly but not social and usually sticks to her Seam friends. Gale Hawthorne, specifically, whose family is friends with her. Everyone was sure that they’d end up together and have a mess load of dark-haired, grey-eyed kids.
However, this summer something changed.
Suddenly, Gale is holding hands with the mayor’s daughter, Madge Undersee. Katniss had retreated into the forest to spend her days hunting and ignoring all the whispering behind her back.
Except for today.
Today, she has come to the carnival, in a pretty, blue dress and her hair in a single braid down her back.
Best of all, Katniss is smiling.
As she smiles adoringly at Prim, it feels like the gray pall over District 12 dissipates and he’s surrounded in the warmth of it.
Peeta is abruptly nudged at his side and turns to find Rye, his brother, smirking at him.
“Go on.” Rye puts an arm around his shoulders, leading him in the direction of where Katniss and Prim are heading. “You’ve only be waiting since you were five.”
“What do I say?”
Rye snorts. “How about ‘Hello’?”
Peeta laughs. “Probably better than screaming out my undying love in the middle of a carnival—”
“Hey Katniss,” Rye says.
“Very funny. No need to make fun of my crush on K—"
He turns and finds Katniss standing in front of him, her expression blank, as Prim smiles at the two brothers.
“Hey Peeta, Hey Rye!” Prim greets them brightly. “We’re going to get cotton candy! Do you want to come?”
“Of course, milady!” Rye replied before bowing gallantly to Prim. “May I escort you?”
Prim defers to her sister. “May I?”
Katniss looks at him pensively but manages a nod. “Sure.”
Together, Rye and Prim excitedly rush towards the cotton candy booth as he and Katniss follow behind, side-by-side.
++++++
Katniss tries not to stare at the boy next to her.
If she does, her face will get red and then Peeta Mellark will know the effect that he has on her.
Katniss has always noticed him, her eyes zeroing in on the boy with indigo eyes as she sang The Valley Song. As they got older, Peeta went from sweet-faced boy to a man with a chiseled jawline and broad shoulders.
Shoulders that she secretly admired during wrestling matches.
Gale never understood why she insisted on watching them, and Katniss could only reply that she had promised her mother that she would attend more school activities.
Her friend clearly saw through the lie, but joined her, nonetheless.
“Do you like cotton candy?”
Katniss whipped over at the question, and Peeta jumped back just slightly, almost tripping over his feet.
“Oh!” She reached over, taking his hand to steady him. “Sorry, I got lost in thought.” Katniss mustered up a nervous smile. “Never had it before. Have you?”
Peeta shook his head. “No, I don’t really know what it is.” His eyes went to Prim, who was chattering with Rye as they stood in line. “She seems really excited.”
“She is,” Katniss said. “There aren’t a lot of times where Prim gets to be just a kid. She’s always working so hard. Helps me with chores, or with my mom when she has her bad days…” She lets out a breath. “Even sells cheese from her goat. I just want her to have a good day, you know.”
Peeta smiled, his eyes crinkling at each side, and something inside flutters.
“You’re a good sister and you work hard too.”
She feels the slight pressure against her wrist and realizes that they are still holding hands, his thumb caressing her pulse point.
Katniss can stay in this moment forever.
“Katniss?” Prim calls out.
They’ve reached the head of the line. The cashier is waiting expectantly, and she quickly digs into her pocket, taking out the money she has to pay the man.
An attendant hands Prim a large pink cloud on a paper holder and her sister squeals in delight. Her hand goes to Prim’s shoulder, steadying her excitement.
“Aren’t you getting one?” Rye asks and she quickly shakes her head.
“Not really hungry,” she tells him.
The truth is just too shameful.
++++++
It doesn’t take long to figure out what’s going on.
Peeta watches Katniss quickly count out what she needs to pay. The change she gets is not much and based on the look on her face, it is all she has left.
His lovely, selfless girl.
Her eyes are glued on her sister who is in awe of her treat. The line of her mouth softens, and she places a hand on her sister’s shoulder, as if to warn her to not eat too fast.
“Are you getting one?” his brother asks.
Katniss shakes her head. “Not really hungry.”
“I am,” Peeta suddenly says and goes to the counter, ordering one. He pays and is handed the fluffy cloud of sugar. “Thanks.”
“Hey Prim!” Rye swipes a bit of her cotton candy, and she giggles. “I think there’s a petting zoo. I know you’re an expert on animals. Want to check it out with me?”
Prim turns to Katniss. “Can we go?”
Her older sister nods. “Sure—”
Rye and Prim dash away, leaving him holding a drooping pink cloud.
“You don’t like sugar.”
The sentence comes from the gorgeous woman standing beside him.
“I do, too!” Peeta tears a piece and sticks it in his mouth. He immediately bites back the urge to gag. Years of working with sugar at the bakery has killed his love for the saccharine flavor. “See?”
Katniss shakes her head, leading him over to a nearby bench.
“You’re lying. Everything that brought to school is savory unlike Rye and Bran.”
He turns to her. “You’ve been watching me.”
Katniss stiffens, her eyes going straight ahead. “I’m just…observant.”
Peeta hold out the gross sugar cloud to her. “I got it for you.”
“No…” She shakes her head, obviously resisting what she thinks is a handout. “…I’m really okay.”
“You work hard,” he tells her. “You deserve a treat.”
Katniss shakes her head once more. “I’m really okay.”
Peeta tears a piece holding out to her.
“Come on.” He gives her his best smile, trying to seem somewhat charming. “Just try it.”
“I really don’t—”
“Then, it’s going to waste—”
“You shouldn’t have gotten it for me—”
In-between their arguing, Peeta is trying to get the piece somewhere in the vicinity of her mouth. However, Katniss is quick, avoiding his fingers holding the cotton candy.
“I didn’t have to, but I wanted to!” he shouts. “That’s what you do for people you like. Do things that you hope make them smile! And today has been the first time in a long time that I’ve seen you smile like that. I just wanted to see it again…”
Peeta’s heaving from the torrent of words and he’s sure that she’s going to tell him to get lost—
“Let me taste.”
He swivels in surprise to find Katniss waiting with her mouth open.
Gently, Peeta brings the piece to her mouth, setting it down against her tongue.
He begins to pull away but her lips close against his thumb and index finger. Then, Peeta feels the tip of her tongue against his skin and the sensation of it spreads throughout his body.
He’s on fire and ready to burn just for that bit of her touch.
“Katniss…” His voice is strangled. “…sweetheart.”
Peeta tries to pull away, but she grabs his wrist to keep him close, his fingers still in her mouth.
It’s an unholy torture as Katniss drags her mouth away.
Then—
Peeta doesn’t know who pulls in first, but their lips are suddenly mashed together. A flurry of hands reaches to find purchase and his find home in her suddenly loosened hair—he has no idea who undid it. While hers grip at the front of shirt to pull him closer, so close that it’s as every part of them is connected from head to toe.
And most importantly, their hearts.
++++++
“You think they’re kissing yet?” Prim asks as she cradles a baby lamb in her arms.
“I hope so—” A goat hops onto the bale of hay next to Rye and he grimaces. Animals are not his thing. He looks at the young girl and grins. “Thanks for telling me that you were coming to the carnival.”
“Thanks for telling me where I could find you,” Prim replies. “Boy, they better get together.”
“Why?”
“Because I really don’t like cotton candy.”
FIN.

Everlark + toothbrushing
… I just googled this to make sure it wasn’t a kinky sexual practice that I’ve never heard of 😭😭😭. Here was my result :
Tumblr media
Well anyways, my headcanon is every night they brush their teeth together. In the mornings, they probably wake up at different times so it’s a solo activity but at night, part of their bedtime routine is brushing their teeth together, ala the Bring It On iconic bathroom scene :
Tumblr media
The sexual tension in that scene is exactly what it’s like when they first start living together too, after the war.
Oh but also when one of them has a bad day and doesn’t wanna do anything but stare at the wall, the other will sometimes brush their teeth for them because you can’t let your spouse’s teeths rot out of their head. Veneers are in such short supply in Panem.

thanks @waywardangel-wilds for the tag!
1.The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton: I must have been 6 or 7 when I first read this with my dad. The story is filled with such whimsy and silliness but also a sense of wholesomeness that I would have no problem revisiting it today. I wouldn't say it's the book that made me fall in love with reading, I honestly don't think there is one particular book, but it's definitely one that got me to that stage as, as far as I can remember, it's the first book I reread multiple times.
2. The Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling: I know she's a controversial figure now but I'm a big believer in separating the art from the artist. The series itself was and is super important to me. I was around 7 or 8 when I started reading it with my dad and I found them so engaging that I started to take them to school to read them by myself; which was a first for me. Strangely, I remember them also being the first books I read that didn't have illustrations. I became a full-blown Potterhead and have reread the series multiple times since then. I would find myself imagining new characters for the world and new scenarios and lore; and although it didn't start me in the world of fanfic (obviously, I was like 9 lol) it is the first series that fully engaged my imagination.
3. A series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket: I was around 9 when I read them, and they were the first books to knock Harry Potter off its throne. They were the first books that had me taking note of different writing styles. Lemony Snicket wrote these books as if he were talking directly to the reader, giving word definitions and making jokes about his characters. He also made everything seem very real to the point where little me was genuinely unsure whether the series was fiction or non-fiction.
4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: Is anybody surprised? I was 11 when I read the series for the first time. I remember having just started secondary school a month prior and being quite overwhelmed by everything, and I found a lot of comfort in the series. I would come to school early just to read some of the books before school. I read them in 10 days flat and it was the first series since Harry Potter to really overtake my imagination. Most of it went over my head as I was pretty young but I have since reread it multiple times and each time I find a new thing to obsess over. It's also the series that eventually led me down the path of reading and writing fanfiction and finding fandom in general.
5. Tschick by Wolfgang Herndorf: This one is a bit strange, but I shall explain. I was 12 or 13 when I started reading this book as "homework" for my German school. I read it with my mum which was the first time we read something together. Because my mum's first language is German she still prefers reading in German over reading in English; so reading was always something I did with my dad, if with anyone. Although the book itself didn't have a massive impact on me, it has a place in my heart for being the first German book I read that wasn't for kids; and for opening that door for me and my mum.

List 5 books that made you The Way You Are (got this idea from another old post). You don't have to explain why if it's cringe/too personal, but I'm curious about how old you were when you read it, if you're comfortable adding that!
Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish, is the first book that I ever read. It made me fall in love with reading. I am dyslexic and this was the first book that I read that I understood and taught me that books weren't hard or boring. I laughed so hard. I was maybe 7years old.
Charlotte's Web by E.B. White is the second book I read by myself it took me longer to read, I was about 8-9 years old when I discovered this book and read it...it taught me the value of good friends. I didn't have friends growing up. I was picked on as a kid.
Night by Eli Wiesel - While a lot of people love Anne Frank, I loved Night. I read this book while in 9th Grade. It changed my perspective on how to look at people.
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boon. This book made me, Corrie was a young woman during WW2 who she and her family hid Jewish families in the Netherlands. She ended up in a concentration camp and lost many of her family members. I was in my late twenties when I read this book. It reconfirmed that all humans are created equal.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, not telling you the age lol but please know that because of these books, I am here in the fandom.

Saltwater
(so this is not a summary like the rest... oops)
Katniss Everdeen walked the edge of the beach every night, and every night he was there.
The boy. Sitting at the edge of the dock, staring, contemplating, into the waves.
He was like her, she decided the third night she came under the grey of the moon, and he was in his spot. Motionless. Hair tousled from the late night breeze. A shadow against the sparkling ocean lapping beneath his feet, against the dull light from the lights planted along the dock.
One night, she decided to join him there. Her feet, quiet against the creaky wood of the dock, crept up until she stood behind him. For a moment she froze; she didn't want to disturb him, his reflection or his time. She didn't know why he came out here every night, but maybe she was wrong. Maybe he wasn't like her after all.
Broken.
Maybe he was perfectly whole. And if that were the truth, who was she to intrude? Who was she to deduce his life just by looking at him?
Fate, or whatever divine power that forced one thing to happen after another, answered for her. A wave crashed against the dock, high enough to startle the boy. And when he turned, pulling his feet off the edge of the dock to stand, he saw her.
"Jesus!"
Katniss jumped, too.
"Who are you?" he asked, voice hard.
"Uh--" This was the part she hadn't planned on. Actually talking to him.
"What are you doing here?" His eyes narrowed.
"I--"
"It doesn't matter," he cut her off. He turned to face the ocean again. "It's just my luck that I get interrupted trying to talk myself out of it."
What?
"Talk yourself out of--" Katniss began.
"Killing myself, yeah," the boy said. He shook his head and scoffed. "Okay, universe. You win. For now." He stuck out his hand. "I may as well make a friend on my last night alive. My name's Peeta. Peeta Mellark. Let's try this again. Who are you?"

Remorse and Absolution
Tumblr media
For @lovely-tothe-bone. Sorry it took me so long.
Rated T, for mentions of canonical violence, and implied intimate encounters.
>>————->
The evening starts as usual: we cook dinner together, set the table and one of us runs to Haymitch’s to drag him over for supper. After dinner, Peeta and Haymitch play a few turns of their permanent chess game set up in the study, while I tackle the dirty dishes, since I’m feeling generous.
I join the guys in the study when I’m done in the kitchen, and curl up in a cozy chair with a book my mother sent from District 4 a while ago. It’s an easy read, just a few poems about flowers and plants that usually keeps my mind relaxed and distracted. The guys share a few quiet chuckles, and I smile at my book absentmindedly. I can’t help it. Laughter sometimes feels a little alien to us, but the sound is becoming more and more frequent with every season that passes.
Dr. Aurelius isn’t completely useless after all. He’s encouraged us to keep simple routines in our day to day, and so far we’ve found it beneficial for all of us.
After a while, Haymitch starts bouncing his leg anxiously. A clear sign he’s ready for a drink, and since Peeta and I discourage the use of liquor in our house, the old man cracks his knuckles and calls it a night after moving his piece. I wish we could break him out of the habit, but we all have our coping mechanisms; Haymitch’s happens to be at the bottom of a bottle. At least his alcohol intake has decreased some since he started raising his geese. The feathered monsters can be a handful tough, but they keep Haymitch preoccupied enough to stay sober at times.
I count that as a plus.
“I’ll walk you home.” Peeta tells Haymitch as soon as our old mentor stands from his rocking chair. His tone is casual, jovial even, but Haymitch and I know Peeta so well, we pick up the hidden message. He wants a word, privately.
“Sure. It’s been a long day, and I may need an extra pair of hands to help me secure the geese’s hatch. The stupid birds keep pecking at it. Soon they’ll be running wild all over the place.” Haymitch drawls, scratching his chin.
His sharp Seam eyes search Peeta’s countenance before cutting to me in something that could pass as boredom, if wasn’t for the way his eyebrow twitches.
I shrug infinitesimally, letting him know that I neither know what’s Peeta up to, or have any objections on the matter.
Haymitch shrugs too, and plucks an apple turnover from a plate by their chess table. “Sweetheart,” He nods and salutes me, stuffing his mouth obnoxiously full of pastry. He slouches out of the room beckoning Peeta to follow him. “Alright, Boy, lets get on with it. That hatch ain't gonna fix itself.”
By the time Peeta comes back, I’m getting ready for bed.
He joins me in the bathroom, as another of our nightly routines, we take turns using the toilet and then wash our faces and brush our teeth together at the sink. It should feel strange going to the bathroom with a boy, but after moving in together and becoming a real couple, Peeta and I have grown comfortable with each other— in my case— comfortable enough to be human in front of him.
I keep looking at him through the mirror over the sink though. He’s been uncharacteristically quiet since returning from Haymitch’s.
“Everything okay?” I ask around a mouthful of toothpaste.
“Hmm.” He grunts in ascent, switching water in his mouth before spitting it out. “Yeah.” He says, but sounds unconvinced.
I rinse my mouth and dry my lips with a towel, still studying his face while he tidies up the counter.
“You know you can tell me if anything is bothering you, right?” I say unraveling my braid and combing out the strands with my fingers.
“I know.” He tells me softly. After a minute, he stutters a breath. “It’s just… I don’t wanna bother ‘you’.” He says looking at me sheepishly, and then stands behind me with my hair brush.
He loves helping me brushing and rebranding my hair, so I let him do it every night. He’s gotten almost as good as I too. Normally, this is my favorite time of our grooming routine. Having him play with my hair relaxes and soothes me like nothing else; but tonight I just stew in his words.
I come to the conclusion that whatever’s on his mind, has to be awful for him to think he’ll upset me by it.
I scowl, and dig deep for some courage; after all he’s done for me, the least I can do is repay his kindness and help him out, even if it’s something that could potentially send me cowering under the covers for days.
“Peeta,” I turn to face him, running my hand up and down his muscled arm. “We’re in this together. No matter what. You can tell me anything.” I tell him honestly.
He sighs heavily.
He holds my hand and together we walk into our bedroom. He motions for me to sit on the bed, then lowers himself next to me. It takes him another moment to gather his thoughts, finally, his eyes find mine, holding my whole attention.
“Today in my call with Dr. Aurelius, we talked about apologizing to people I’ve physically hurt. Even if they’re not around anymore.”
“Oh,” I breathe out. “That’s a tall order. I’m so sorry, Peeta.” I say taking his hand in mine. By my count, all the people Peeta ever touched violently, died right after. “It must’ve been hard for you, trying to make amends like that.”
He shakes his head. “It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I mean, I felt myself slipping at one point, but I managed to stay in my own mind…” he trails off, his blue eyes glass over, and for a moment I’m frightened an episode is coming, but then his eyes refocus on me. And it’s not better when he holds my gaze.
So much sadness and guilt, a chill runs up my spine.
“Apologizing to the dead wasn’t the hard part.” He confesses softly, gently. “There’s one person I hurt, who’s still here, breathing. Alive. The problem is she’s the hardest one to even start talking to, because I can’t quite remember what happened, or what was actually said or done to trigger the attack.” Peeta’s voice breaks a little, his eyes intense on mine. “My mind was so confused. Whatever happened during those moments when fear gripped my like a vice, is fogged up in my memory, and some people may say is for the better, because who’ll want to know the monstrosities one is capable of…?”
I try to remain oblivious to what he’s saying, but his meaning is hard to miss when spoken with such vehemence.
He continues, “What I know about the incidents, is only what I was told by others. At first, I didn’t believe a word of it.” He shakes his head and looks away in shame for a moment, “Not until I saw footage of myself acting like a rabid mutt. A madman, killing an innocent just to get to a defenseless girl, who didn’t do anything to hurt me. Not really.”
My heartbeat quickens at his words. Pain and fear snake around my chest, wrapping tightly over my heart, and breathing becomes a chore. I shake my head, “It wasn't like that... it wasn’t—“ a small noise, like a sob, cuts the rest of my words short.
“Katniss,” this time is Peeta squeezing my hand in his. “We don’t have to talk about this if you don’t want to. As I said, the last thing I want, is to upset you.”
I shake my head and manage to croak out, “No, Peeta, I think we have to. I’m not terribly keen on remembering those days, but like everything in our lives, we need to face our fears and stop pretending they’re not there.” I squeeze my eyes shut for a second. “What do you need to know?” I ask before my resolve disappears.
“I’m not sure. Honestly, I want nothing less than to know all the awful things I did and said to you then, Sweetheart. But it feels wrong, hypocritical, apologizing to you without first owning my crimes and shortcomings.”
My heart breaks a little. For both of us.
All the mess up stuff done to us, and even now we have to fight to get away from the pain they caused us.
“Is that why you wanted to speak to Haymitch alone?” I ask, “To learn from him what happened that day? The day you—“ my hand goes to my neck involuntarily, but the words I whisper are less threatening, less damning. “The day you were rescued from the Capitol,”
Peeta sighs a tremulous “Yes.” After a pause, he explains, quietly, “I had to know, and Haymitch wouldn’t sugar coat it or lie about it to spare my sanity.” We’re silent for a moment and then he brings my hand to his lips. “I’m sorry I let them turn me into that monster, Katniss.”
I’m not sure what exactly happens next, but one soft, apologetic kiss, turns into two, three, six, ten. His lips hover, feather like, over the skin of my wrist, traveling to my forearm and then keeps going up to my shoulder. Our eyes stay entranced unto one another, as much as we can sitting like we are. An unbreakable connection. The apology is etched in the depths of his intense blue eyes, and I don’t have the power to look away or deny him this.
Sitting side by side, requires some readjustment when Peeta’s kisses reach my neck. My eyes finally shut when his hot breath fans over the place my skin tingles with the memory of finger shaped bruises.
“I’m so sorry, Katniss.” He murmurs against my throat. “I’m sorry I became a piece in their games.” His kisses go from tight lipped, to open mouthed, and his hand cups my cheek to keep my head in place as he paints apologies over my neck and throat.
“I’m sorry I let them turn me against you, darling.” His free hand wraps around my waist lightly, “I allowed them to turn me into a weapon, to destroy you. I’m sorry my mind was so warped, they almost succeeded.”
“But you’re better now,” I exclaim wrapping my fingers around his, abruptly turning to face him completely.
My eyes fill with tears because his real self is here, with me, and none of the schemes the Capitol or Coin tried to use, to put us as odds with each other, worked.
They lost! And against the odds, we won. Another day this victory will seem empty and small, but not tonight. Tonight, knowing Peeta reclaimed his mind back and came home to help me do the same, is all that matters.
“You’re better now,” I repeat, and then is me kissing his mouth, holding him tight, “You’re you. My Peeta. My sweet, tender Boy with the bread.” Every word is marked with a peck to his lips, cheeks, eyes. “They couldn’t break you, not completely. You broke free at the end. You brought yourself back to me.”
He pulls me flushed against him then. “Oh, Sweetheart, I’ll always come back to you. You’re my entire life. My safe heaven. My home.”
“And you are mine.”
We lean into each other. Our kisses rapidly escalates from reassuring press of the lips, to hungry exploration of each other’s mouths.
Our bodies slowly lower to the mattress; our hands roam freely under sleep wear and my fingers tangle in his soft hair. We move fluidly, in familiar, comforting motions together.
Peeta kisses my jawline up and down; one warm hand slides from my side, up to my shoulder and around to caress over my collarbones with gentle, loving fingers.
“I don’t think I will ever be able to stop apologizing for hurting you,” He says placing small kisses behind my ear. “Hijacked or not.” He nudges me back, until my head falls on my pillow. “But I pledge to spend the rest of my life trying.” He promises before shifting himself to hover above me.
I cradle his hips between mine, but Peeta contents himself with just resting his weight there while his clever, caring fingers massage the skin on my neck tenderly.
“Please, Katniss. Could you ever forgive me for what I did? I keep trying to picture myself wrapping my hands around your neck with the intent to harm you, and I just—”
“I know. That wasn’t you.” I tell him caressing his face.
His eyes shine with unshed tears. “But maybe it was though.” He says miserably. “Everyone keeps saying they use venom to twist my feelings for you until I couldn’t even recognize myself, but what if the hatred and resentment had been there all along? There’s an all consuming rage deep within me, Katniss. It ran in my mother’s veins. I could feel it in mine too, dormant, simmering beneath the surface. I kept a short leash on it when I could help it, but the Capitol found it, dug it out, and magnified it to use against you. How could you ever forgive me for almost choking the life out of you?”
“Peeta,” I sigh to the ceiling, curling my fingers into the hair at his nape, bringing his face deeper into the crook of my neck where I can keep him safe from himself, “I forgave you the moment you remembered your promise of ‘Always’.” I tell him looping my other arm around his shoulder. “I forgave you because your true self is kind, and loving, and sweet. Maybe there is anger and rage inside you, but your selflessness is far greater. Your will power is what makes me love you. You came back from the mutt, and that’s why forgiving you was so easy. You didn’t let it eat you up like Snow and Coin expected. You’re stronger than that.”
How could I ever doubt a boy who’s always put my well-being before his own? How could I believe he would purposely hurt me, when his actions spoke so loudly to the contrary in the past?
To show him I trust him intrinsically and accept his apology without reservations, I tilt my head back, presenting him with my bare throat. I don’t care if this position leaves me vulnerable, I know he loves me, and despite all those walls I built around my heart to keep me from falling in love, I’ve finally admitted, I love him back.
“Thank you, Katniss. For having faith in me. For giving me another chance and not giving up on me in those sewers.”
“You didn’t give up on me either. I think we are finally on leveled ground.”
I feel his smile against my cheek before his lips find my own.
“I will still spend the rest of my life, making it up to you, Sweetheart.” He whispers into my jaw, his other hand joins the sweet ministrations of the first one, pouring his devotion into each one of his light touches over my clavicle and throat, as if trying to sooth the memory of the bruises away… he may just manage to erase them for good if he keeps kissing me like this.
He’s etching his adoration and love for me with so much reverence on every inch of flesh he can reach.
His caresses and kisses descend from my face to my clavicle, his hands move the thin material of my night shirt down my arms, revealing yet more skin, and his reverent kisses turn into hungry nips and pecks, that only serves to make our hunger greater. Our hands seek more skin, more warmth, more friction, not quite satisfying.
We’ve made love almost every night since the day I told him my love for him is real, but tonight, when we join our bodies and become one, is different. With every gasp, caress and whispered promise, we make right a wrong, and put a painful episode behind us. We heal, forgive, and forget.
As his strokes and soothes my neck with tender touches, I know in my heart, that we will be okay.
We still have a long road ahead of us. What we went through has left deep wounds physical and emotional, that won’t heal overnight; we will have to work very hard to overcome guilt, sadness, and anger, but tonight, we’ve grown in our love, and that’s one more reason to smile than we had yesterday.
Maybe one day laughter won’t be alien anymore.

Favorite non main characters?
Thank you so much for the ask! (It depends on who is classified as a non main character but...) Boggs. I think was a important father figure in the series to help Katniss through (at least the first half) of the revolution, and navigate Coin. I started to really care about him and valued him as a part of Katniss’s support system. I was really uspet when he died.

Ok ok what's your album ranking now that folklore is out?
Omg what a hard question, I feel pressure just trying to think about it, kinda depends on the mood 👀 let’s do what Sunday at 2pm me! thinks cause it might change -
1. Speak now
2. 1989
3. Folklore
4. Lover
5. Fearless
6. Red
7. Taylor Swift
8. Reputation (I love this album tho 😭)
Heart breaking, so hard to rank these babies, just looking back at the list makes me doubt...
But oh well that’s what my instinct says right now, what do you think is yours?

Kit Tanthalos x OC
Big Masterlist
Masterlist
Chapter 15
The next thing I know is that the Gales chase us.
J: CAN’T  WE HAVE ONE MOMENT OF PEACE ?! ONE !?
Kit, Jade and I are again being chased by the Monster with the cage on its head. We try to Hide in an Alley but when dust falls on us we see that he is standing on the wall. We all scream and run. We run to the Others and Hide behind a wall.
K: How long can they keep us up for ?
W: The Crone won’t let them rest till they have Elora and have killed us.
G: If only they took the Time to get to know us. Right ?
I exhale.
Ja: Where to now Captain ?
G: We can’t outrun them, so where can we go ?
W: Into the Wildwood.
J: Yeah, great ! Another place that is said to be cursed.
I smile sarcastically.
G: She’s right, what about the you know, perils of the Wildwood ?
E: What Perils ?
W: People say there’s something in the Air, the Trees, the water, that makes you …
G: Never wanna leave.
J: Loose your will to do anything.
K: Trust me. We are not spending any more time in there than we need to.
E: Yeah, no way.
W: If anybody has any better Ideas, I’m sure we’d love to hear them.
The cage Monster lands in front of us.
W: RUN !
I get up and pull Kit with me. We run into the Woods. We have to chop little branches.
B: The Key is Vigilance. Stay sharp. The wildwood is seductive. It lures you in with its sights and sounds. The next thing you know you’re officiating Weddings and Dog-sitting for casual acquaintances.
K: Well, that’s not gonna Happen.
G: Personally, I’m still worried about the Perils.
We keep on walking. My hand gripping Kits and not letting go. We stop walking when we see tiny lights and Butterflies swirling around the Trees. It’s beautiful. Kit starts pulling me with her.
Ja: The Bone Reavers that Killed my Family fled into the Wildwood. Maybe they’re still here. Somewhere.
We make a pause. I sit down against a Tree Kit sitting next to me. I play with her Hands while Kit and Jade talk.
B: Listen Guys.
I look up
B: I know you all have your doubts about my integrity, motives, whatever. But I’m begging you to Trust me, when I tell you that no matter what happens next, I have a plan and everything will work out if you all just Remain …
Before Boorman can finish his sentence there is a Blade on my Neck.
B: Calm.
I Stare at him.
J: You could’ve just said Warning Danger stay Calm but nooooo.
B: Do you always have to be Sarcastic.
J: Yes.
The Bone Reavers  take us to their Camp. I see skulls as decorations.
J: Ah, just Lovely.
As we’re let go, I immediately go to Kit. She takes my Hand.
K: I’m fine.
J: Good.
?: Boorman.
B: Lori.
I look at him.
J: Lori ?
B: Toth’s first name is Lori but for some reason he’s insecure about it. Yeah Own it Lori. You know, make it yours.
He punches Boorman right on the Nose.
J: Thank you I would’ve done it If you hadn’t.
Toth points at me.
T: I like her.
?: Now, Now boys. Play Nice.
I look at a Woman. She looks interesting.
?: You don’t look dead.
B: Funny Story. Well not Ha-Ha funny. More like a “Ain’t life funny” kind of funny.
She walks down the Steps towards us.
?: You can Imagine my Surprise when Toth came back and said he’d run down a Tir Asleen cut-out. Five kids and a beanpole that Looked exactly like Thraxus Boorman.
I look at him.
J: What did you Idiot do ?
He ignores me.
B: You are entitled to an Explanation.
?: No one gets out of Skellin alive. Ever.
J: Sorry did you say Skellin ?
E: Skellin ?
Ja: Dread mines of skellin. In the Mountains.
J: Run by the Trolls.
B: What can I say ? Guess that makes me the Somebody who did.
?: I’m going to enjoy this.
B: Well, if you’re thinking what I’m thinking you’re thinking so am I.
J: Just shut up for Once.
?: I doubt that very much.
She looks at Toth.
?: Take him to my Tent and make sure he’s well tied up.
A man grabs him and pulls him there.
B: I don’t know. See, that Kind of sounds like we’re on the same Page.
I pull a disgusted face.
T: And the others ? Do you want em ‘ or should we just Fire up the old skull-boiling cauldron.
In an instant I push Kit behind me. But she steps in front of the Woman.
K: I’m Kit Tanthalos of Tir Asleen. I’m Queen Sorsha’s daughter.
J: My Love, what are you doing ?!
I lay my Hand on her Arm.
?: Scorpia. Well, actually, it’s her Sublime Eminence Mistress Magnificus Venoma Scorpia. But Scorpia’s fine.
J: Very nice to meet ya.
I pull Kit closer to me. Scorpia looks at me.
S: And you are ?
J: Me ?
She nods.
J: Jane Chander.
K: My Brother was abducted from our Castle.
S: Wasn’t us. Wasn’t, was it ?
She looks at Toth.
T: Mm- mmm.
J: It was servants of the Withered Crone.
K: We’re going beyond the shattered Sea.
The People laugh.
K: To rescue him. If you could find it in your Hearts to let us go. I’m sure my mother would repay the Favour.
J: And you can keep Boorman. He’s, like, The worst.
Ja: You're wasting your Breath. They don’t have a whit of Mercy about them, and they’re too stupid to realise what you’re offering them.
S: Maybe we won’t fire up the ol’ skull pot just yet. Lock the Nelwyn and the Pretty fella down the Borough. Toss these two in the Rattler.
She nods at Kit and Elora. They grab all four of them. Toth holds me and Jade. I start to struggle.
J: Hey let me go. No. Kit.
She looks at me.
S: We’ll keep those two here. They’ll make good sport.
K: Wait, what'll you do to her ?
Panicking, she looks at me and also starts to struggle.
K: Jane.
And she disappears from my view.
J: Don’t harm her. Please.
I look at Scorpia. She steps towards me.
S: Why wouldn't I ?
J: She’s pregnant. You can Kill Boorman. I don't care. Just leave her.
She looks at me and nods. Me and Jade get bound up outside.
J: You ok ?
Ja: Yes.
J: Good.
Ja: Really you would let her Kill Boorman ? Your Brother.
J: I would kill myself, if that meant keeping Kit safe.
Ja: What did you see in that Castle ?
I look down.
J: I uh …
Ja: Jane ?
J: We fought. Again, and I said that I couldn’t keep going like that. Then I just walked off. Uh … Then I heard her scream my name. I of course started running there and … there was a Door. Once I opened it she just laid there. Not breathing, not anything. She-She gave birth to the Baby. Alone. They  were both …
Tears run down my face.
Ja: That’s why you were Crying so much.
J:Boorman was carrying me cause I tried jumping out a Window.
Jade keeps quiet.
Ja. What ?!
Suddenly there is an explosion. We see Kit and Elora. Bone Reavers stand around them.
E: We don’t wanna hurt anybody, and nobody wants to get Hurt.
K: Oh, I will hurt you, if I have to.
E: Hurt you bad.
K: All we want are Jane and Jade. Where are they ?
J: We’re here.
She looks at us and walks to us.
J: I’m fine.
K: Cut them loose.
T: Afraid we can’t do that. Not without the Mistress's say-so.
E: I will melt your face off Lori !
T: We have a sayin’ for People who make Empty threats. They make nice Hats.
They grab both of them.
J: Hey let them go !
Scorpia walks to kit sarcastically clapping.
S: I applaud your Spirit Princess, but you really must loosen up, have some fun.
Jade frees herself from her Binds Grabs a Knife and holds it against Scorpia’s Throat.
Ja: I’m lots of fun and I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.
S: Oh gorgeous, I’m all yours.
And in the Next second Jade lays on her back and Scorpia lands a good Punch in her face. But jade fights back. It ends when Scorpia has Jade on her knees, her head tilted forward, and her Hair pulled up. Scorpia freezes. Then gets off her. Stunned, I look at her.
S: Take her to my Tent.
They’re in it for a few Minutes. When they come out Scorpia commands to make us free. I instantly walk to Kit and check her.
J: Are you ok ?
K: Yes, are you ?
I nod and she hugs me. I look at Jade.
J: What is going on ?

@lovely-tothe-bone oh this is a hard one!
I havent had many commenters point flaws out. Which gives me a false sense of me actually writing better than I do. I've had people encourage me to write more than point out holes/errors. I honestly wish I had some though, I appreciate constructive criticism.

Headlights
Ooo this is a good one. So this would take place in the modern day au.
Katniss lives in a small town and has part ownership to a car resale dealership. Also she’s 23.Peeta would be on the highway traveling home(wherever you picture that) when he needs gas so he pulls off the highway and goes to the local gas station in Katniss’ town(the car dealership is across the street). He gets his gas, all ready to go, when his car won’t turn over. Luckily(no one expected this lol) the car dealership with a mechanic is across the street. And who might that mechanic be? Katniss Everdeen. He obviously thinks she’s beautiful and mysterious and flirts and she doesn’t think anything of it. It’s going to take a couple days to fix so Peeta camps out on a couch until closing time. He slumps against the brick wall and tries to sleep but can’t. Katniss sees him outside the dealership in the heat and she lets him stay at her house bc there is no motel/hotel in their town. As you can imagine their are many many awkward pauses and bumping into each other in the mornings(Peeta makes breakfast every morning. He’s such a cutie and yes Katniss loves his cheese buns. As he gets back into his car, thanking Katniss, and drives off, she notices one of his headlights was out. Oh well🤷‍♀️. I guess they may never see each other again...unless fate intervenes.
Thanks @lovely-tothe-bone for this idea! I appreciate you taking time to ask me. I hope this is enough. I threw it together and it was whatever is in my brain right now so if I look back at this and think it sucks that’s prob bc it does lol.
