No matter where the waves of life takes me, Lake Michigan will always be home. 🌊💙🌊 . As a mermaid, I feel very protective and territorial of the lake. It is a very calm and quiet place that makes me feel at peace. When I'm out of the water (and able to see) I love stopping by Lake Michigan to watch the fish swim along the rocks and between the piers. It is fun dodging the many agile sparrows that visit to eat the squishy black bug things. And seeing the blue waves kissing the sandy shoreline? It is one of the most beautiful sights and one of the most simple pleasures I know of..🖤 . Last year, I remember blindly swimming at 9:30 PM (at the end of a filming session) and having a local shouting to me from a nearby pavilion. This kid was trying to help navigate me towards a pop can that someone had carelessly tossed in the lake. With the kid's help, I was successfully able to drag the litter out of the water and to someone capable of walking on land. They then recycled it. . I remember feeling mixed emotions that night. I was very angry at the lazy person who couldn't take the time to walk their can over to the nearby recycling bin... but was also feeling very proud of the boy who went out of his way to ask a mermaid to help clean up the lake. . I hope more people will remember to be so kind and caring to the land. 💙 . On that note, I miss swimming. ☹😭 #HurryUpSummer .
