Let’s talk about #lovearmyforsomalia because THIS is the man behind the plan. Chaka, a man who for years has dedicated his life to humanitarian in Africa throughout the years. I know he may not care that he is given credit because he is not a boaster. But I feel like Jerome Jarre is starting to receive fabricated credit by news articles for this project meanwhile Chaka sits as a face unknown. I thought I’d let you know that there’s a BRILLIANT BLACK MAN behind this plan. ✊🏾 But the news isn’t going to cover that 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hey guys, if you have a few dollars to spare, these guys (and Ben Affleck) asked Turkish Airlines to donate a plane (yes an entire plane) so they could stuff nothing but food in it and send it to Somalia. 

And Turkish Airlines accepted it! So they opened a GoFundMe to be able to put 60 TONS OF FOOD in an airplane to Somalia.

I donated today, it’d be neat if you could too.

The power of social media

These last few years, charities have also been using social media for their cause. From Movember to the Ice bucket challenge we’ve all heard of it and maybe some of you even participated by giving funds.  The latest one was started by a group of people including actor Ben Stiller and French youtuber Jerome Jarre. They “randomly” sent a tweet to Turkish Airline to ask for a plane to ship food to help end the famine crisis in Somalia.

The tweet was retweeted and shared and went viral so of course, Turkish Airline answered and agreed to give them not only one plane but 3!  Their next step was to find food and for that they used the website GoFundMe, set up a new hashtag and once again it went viral. They now have enough money to fund 10 planes! 

They now set up another hashtag #NominatedForSomalia which - didn’t you already guess? WENT VIRAL AGAIN! This time, the idea is to fund more sustainable ways to provide food for Somalia.

They need our help !! In Somalia people are dying from dehydration and hunger and mainstream media made it look like we can not do anything ! It’s not true ... These incredible people got a CARGO PLANE from Turkish Airline that has accepted to deliver water and food  all the way to Somalia. It’s the 27th of March, 2017
