i don’t think it’s unpopular but that could just be a symptom of where i grew up. both states i’ve lived in i’ve clocked about a decade there each and both have their own brand of hicks and they’re unfortunately the popular type. i say unfortunately because it was unfortunately a very obnoxious demographic. now if i were attracted to the cowboy type, i’m sure i wouldn’t have been deterred by something like irritation.

i don’t think i have any cowboy aus of any sort, nor have i entertained the idea of it. i don’t have a cowboy fantasy of any kind.

i do like the idea of the “blue collar man” type tho. i often associate a character like modern!han with that kind of work. rough hands, heavy boots, salt of the earth, tongue in cheek, large and in charge, tool box, etc etc. i also like the idea of a mechanic, someone who knows their way around a vehicle is infinitely attractive to me.

i don’t mind a twang or a diamond stud, not something i actively look for tho. i like a guy that carries a pocket knife and is handy, but i don’t care for trucks and blue jeans.
