Thanks for sending a prompt! I swear I set out to write exactly what you wanted but uh…instead, it took a mind of its own, Sal grabbed the reins and well this happened. I really do hope you still enjoy this salbucktommy and keep an eye out because I loved exploring their dynamic and definitely plan to write some more of them.

They’re at their usual Queer-friendly bar, having opted out of joining their respective teams at a Badge & Ladder. They’ve wanted a night to themselves for weeks now and after a streak of conflicting shifts and canceled plans, they’ve finally carved out a night just for the three of them.

Sal’s come straight from a shift, still smelling faintly of smoke, while Buck and Tommy are twenty-four hours into a rare shared off.

Tommy just went to the bathroom, leaving Buck mid-ramble about something—Sal had stopped tracking the topic ten minutes ago in favor of trying to keep up with the game’s score. Something about the history of…Sailors tattoos? Or was it fire codes in New York? He's not sure. Buck had a way of diving headfirst into topics like they were burning buildings and half the time Sal just lets him go. It’s distracting as hell, but also weirdly endearing.

Suddenly, Buck’s steady stream of words cuts off. Sal glances at him, concern building up in him when he follows his line of sight and ahh. Some stocky, overly confident guy has intercepted Tommy on his way back from the bathroom. The guy leans in closer and Tommy, to his credit, looks relaxed, even amused.

“Easy there, Cujo.” Sal murmurs, noting the way Buck is all tightly bound energy at the moment. “Don’t go off maiming any ankles. I like this bar, don’t wanna get blacklisted.”

Buck frowns, bouncing slightly on the barstool like he’s ready to launch. “You seriously okay with some random asshole flirting with Tommy? I mean, who does that? Just stops someone coming from the bathroom—”

Sal shoots him an unimpressed look, as he takes a long sip of his beer. “Tommy can handle himself. ‘Sides I know exactly who he’s gonna be under tonight and whose hands it’ll be on him. Don’t you?”

Buck startles as Sal’s boot hooks around his ankle under the table—slow and deliberate—and his cheeks flush red. He’s never known anyone so capable of undressing him with his eyes like Sal does. That look Sal’s giving him…makes him feel stripped bare in more ways than one. Seen in a way he never was before. Until them. Tommy and Sal.

“Y—yeah. I know that. Just…”

Buck’s eyes flick back to Tommy, tracking the way he tilts his head and nods at something the other guy’s saying. He doesn’t look uncomfortable. But Buck still bristles.

Sal watches him with something close to fondness and worry. Watching the way Buck slightly hunches in on himself, looking unsure. He sighs.

These two—emotional wreckage wrapped in muscle and good intentions—so in love with each other they lose their heads the majority of the time. They really did a number on one another. It’s a wonder Sal fits in at all with them. This whole thing working far better than they believed it would. But sometimes, adding a third to a relationship doesn’t complicate things. Sometimes, it completes them.

Besides, these two idiots need a lot of loving. And if that has to be up to him…well he ain’t exactly complaining.

He glances back at Tommy, and their eyes lock—something sparking between them, part challenge, part question. Tommy’s lips twitch, and Sal feels his own curve into a smile before he can stop it.

Bastard, he thinks, fond. Playing us like a damn fiddle.

He feels heat pool low in his gut and suddenly, he needs to be back home. With both of his men.

Time to move this along.

He reaches across the table, fingers curling under Buck’s chin, gently tilting his head until their eyes meet.

He smirks as Buck’s eyes widen and his mouth parts, pretty pink tongue darting out to wet his lips.

“Baby, go get our man,” Sal says, voice low. “Time to head home.”

Buck nods quickly. “Uh-huh. Yeah. On it.”

He doesn’t move.

Sal arches a brow.

Buck jumps. “Tommy. Right. Okay.”

He slides off the stool, nearly tripping in his rush, but stops when Sal calls, “Hey, sweetheart?”

Buck turns, cheeks flushed, eyes already dilated.

“No maiming,” Sal says with a wink.

Buck visibly shudders. “No promises,” he mutters, but grins and sticks out his tongue at Sal, savoring the low chuckle he gets in return before weaving through the crowd toward Tommy. His heart hammering with all the filthy possibilities the night promises.

M'gann was having an amazing day. She met with her civilian friends, drank an amazing smoothie, saw a cute dog. For a few hours, she didn't have to think about problems that took more than 20 minutes to solve. For a few hours, she could just be Megan. And then there was a scream of a woman, mother, who thought too loud and faded too fast and M'gann wasn't enough to save her and it made her whole world come crashing down. And then Danny found her, with a soft smile and patient voice. He kneeled beside her to pick up the pieces. Duke wasn't expecting to wake up from his quick rooftop nap to some meta kid with fries. He also wasn't expecting kid to stay Or Danny asked Dani to stay safe while she was in Gotham. It’s always DC characters summoning Danny. How about we do this another way around? Danny was desperate for a mentor and help (and some cold medicine). How- What- Why is Wonder Woman standing in his bedroom? 

“Unknown, the Wandering Hero”:

Unknown was what Justice League called the friendly anonymous hero, who kept helping them with ghosts. Only one with powers working on them. It just turns out, they were much younger than everyone expected. Danny went through a lot lately and the less people knew who he was, the less likely he was to return to the operating table.

M'gann was bored out of her mind and her monitoring shift with Green Arrow just started! Sure, it was important thing to learn and all, but also just a bit more interesting than drying paint. And then entire city just disappeared from the feed, so she stormed out to investiagate. And it went downhill from there

"Fight over the Mars"

Danny was ambushed by Vlad when he was minding his own buisness. It wouldn't be unusual if he didn't have a portal gun, that send them all over the world and then to the freaking Mars. And then Miss Martian showed up. Yeah, Danny was absolutely normal about that part

"Relationship reveal with ghost summoning on the side"

Young Justice fumbled a bit a mission involving the cult. Yeah, they managed to summon the wish granting ghost and only Aqualad had a way to touch her. Not the best look... But then Miss Martian said she had an idea! The idea was to summon another ghost... And it worked and he attacked the first ghost! Wait, when exactly did petnames get on the table?!

"Date in the Ghost Zone"

Danny loves Ghost Zone. Especially Far Frozen, where he found almost second family. Danny also loves M'gann, his amazing girlfriend, for who he'd go to the end of world and back. It was only fair he introduced one to another.

"Relationship reveal with a side of mind-control (or really the other way around)"

M'gann didn't need to be a psychic to see that something was wrong. She didn't need to be one of Phantom's closest friends and know that whatever was going on was against his basic principles. She maybe even didn't need to be his girlfriend, with added bonus of being intimitely familiar with his eyes, which were decidedly never red. Team was none of it, of course, so they assumed it was a villain attack. M'gann was all of that, so she could help.

“Don’t bite your nails!” your sister shrieks from across the room. You whip your hand out of your mouth. 

“I wasn’t,” you reply.

She raises an eyebrow. “Sure. Sure you weren’t. Here, eat something instead.”

“I can’t,” you say. “I’m too nervous. What if something goes wrong?”

“Like what?” Keeley asks from her position by the mirror. She slicks back a flyaway hair and dabs at the corner of her mouth.

“I dunno, what if- what if I trip? What if Ted forgets what he’s supposed to say? What if Jamie says no?”

Your sister and Keeley exchange a look.

“He’s the one who asked you,” Rebecca says before either of them can can snark back at you.

You’re still not convinced. “What if he’s changed his mind?” you ask worriedly.

Your sister bangs her head against the wall. You weren’t this nervous last night when you were out partying with the girls. None of the women in the room are quite sure what’s come over you.

“He hasn’t changed his mind,” Rebecca says in a placating tone. “Look at your hand. See that diamond? Does that look like something Jamie would forget about?”

“No,” you reply weakly. “But what if he wants it back? Or remembers that he’s famous and rich and I literally am neither of those things. I have a face that was made for the radio!”

“Oh my god,” you sister says, throwing her hands in the air. “He’s marrying you. Please calm the fuck down. You literally have to walk down the aisle in half an hour.”

Your nail is in your mouth again so Keeley reaches up and smacks it away.

She says, “Babes, I love you to fucking pieces, but you seriously need to calm down, yeah? It’s alright.”

There’s a knock on the door and you jump. 

“Almost ready?” Ted asks. “The boys are getting mighty anxious out there.”

‘The boys’ he’s referring to are the entirety of AFC Richmond, who may have been the reason this marriage is even happening. After all, it was Colin who swore he met the perfect person for Jamie and Dani who convinced you to go on a blind date. Sam provided the venue (obviously) and Isaac, Declan, and Richard made sure Jamie didn’t wear something stupid.

Rebecca opens the door a crack. “She’s getting mighty anxious in here.”

Ted frowns. “Pre-wedding jitters are normal, but you got nothing to worry about, darlin’. Two hundred of your closest friends and family are all here to support you on your big day.”

You blow out a breath. “More like thirty of my closest friends and family. The rest are for Jamie. Fuck’s sake, Ted, what am I doing? I shouldn’t be here. Do you know how much money he spent on this fucking wedding? It’s more than I make in two years. Don’t get me wrong, it’s literally my dream, but I just feel like I’m not going to measure up. He’s going to get bored of me sooner or later.”

Ted tilts his head and you feel oddly comforted under his scrutinizing gaze. “Alright, come with me,” he says after a moment of deliberation. “Everyone’s outside, I’m just gonna sneak you down the hall a little bit. You trust me?”

You nod and take his proffered arm. Your sister breathes, “Thank fuck,” as you leave, and you’re pretty sure you hear Keeley echo the sentiment.

Ted leads you to a door at the end of the hall and motions for you to stand against the wall, just out of sight. He knocks. 

“Jamie? You got a minute?”

The door opens and you clamp a hand over your mouth to keep from making noise. 

“Your girl’s having a bit of a pre-marital fright, so I brought her down to talk to ya. If you just sit down and stick your hand out the door, she can grab it and you won’t see her before you’re supposed to.”

Jamie says, “Sounds good, coach,” and his head is replaced by an arm. You stare at it for a minute before Ted motions you to grab Jamie’s hand. You sit down, back against the wall, and reach for Jamie who gives you a reassuring squeeze.

“Christ love, your hands are fucking sweaty,” he says and you can tell by his voice that he’s smiling.

Something about hearing him makes tears well up, and you sniff.

“Babe, what’s wrong?” Jamie asks. “You crying because you’re so happy your husband is mad fit and mad rich?”

You say, “No. Well, kind of,” and it’s all Jamie can do not to break the stupid fucking tradition of not seeing the bride before she walks down the aisle.

“Tell me,” he says softly. Ted hands you a tissue and then retreats back where he came from.

You sniff. “I’m really excited to marry you. I really fucking am. It’s just- you’re so much, you know? It’s one of the things I love about you. And I’m not, not really. I’m just me, and I don’t want you to realize that you can do better.”

Jamie maneuvers your hand so he can press a kiss to your knuckles.

“You worry too much,” he says. “We’re doing this shit, for better or for worse, yeah? How do I know you won’t realize you can do better than me? Dump me for some fit nerd.”

“You are a fit nerd,” you laugh through tears. “Football nerd, but still a nerd.”

Jamie snorts. “Shit babe, you know how to make a bloke feel special.”

You’re both silent for a minute, taking comfort in the fact that the love of your life is on the other side of the door.

The moment is broken by Keeley’s appearance. 

“Time to go back into hiding, babe,” she says.

You sigh, and Jamie squeezes your hand one more time. “See you in a bit, love,” he says.

Keeley helps you off the floor and back down to the room.

“All good?” she asks. 

“All good,” you reply.

So like I very much love DP x DC as a crossover, don't get me wrong, but it just about ALWAYS seems to be more DP x Batfam-slanted than anything else, or maaaaaybe DP x Justice League, and like . . . yes Jason alone is def enough reason to make it that way, obvi, because dead teenage vigilante and the whole Lazarus-pits-as-fucked-up-ectoplasm concept and just Gotham being Gotham, and alternately the whole "canonically would have to be capable of solo-ing the Justice League due to the existence of Dan's timeline" thing could probably be interesting to play with, but ALSO

ALSO

there are just SO many people who have died and come back in DC canon and/or could one way or another be liminal, if not outright halfas. Or could easily BECOME halfas, if that's your thing (if I am writing anything DP x DC and Jason Todd is NOT a halfa, whether he is on-screen or not, you may safely assume I have been kidnapped and replaced by a terribly misguided doppelganger).

Anyway long story short I wanna figure out an excuse to make Kon a halfa. He was dead for a THOUSAND YEARS, okay, there's OPTIONS there. Shit could happen!! Shit could absolutely happen!!!!

Also Dani is a thing, and really a half-Kryptonian halfa just sounds fucking TERRIFYING, and I want in on that shit. Oh, you get ghost powers on TOP of the Kryptonian powers, Kon? So like . . . do those just overlap or do they, uh . . . MULTIPLY?? Kon? Kon??

. . . Kon do you not KNOW if they multiply oh god.

Anyway I'm very tempted to go that way with the "Tucker is having a normal one" WIP, that's all I'm saying here. Tucker gets a mildly surprising bi awakening and Kon gets cool ghost powers that could canonically stomp the whole Justice League and surely this will all be very normal and fine and not involve the GIW or any weird internal crisises for anyone at all!

And I get to write Data EnKrypton, and therefore everyone wins. 💚

If you're a '90s momma like myself, you probably spent Friday nights tuning in to a local network (GMA 7), waiting for Pokémon: Indigo League to air.

I know how tough motherhood can be, and I can only imagine how much more challenging it is when you're raising a child on the spectrum. This order reminds me why I do what I do—to bring joy to kids through food! ❤️ That's why I make sure every meal I serve is made with so much love, no matter how intricate the details are.

The Burns & Valentine’s Day

Kade: He uses this day as an excuse to try to rizz people. He has asked out so many people and done the wrong thing so many times that now he knows the drill. Flowers? Check. Chocolate? Check. Giant stuffy? Possibly!

He’ll get his significant other the stereotypical gift stuff and take them on a nice date, probably to see a movie. (It might not end up being a romantic one though! Feel free to punch him on the shoulder and tease him!)❤️

Dani: She doesn’t think Valentine’s Day is that big of a deal, but will be upset if her significant other doesn’t do something. A gift at least would be nice! A nice date may get you brownie points though.

She may fly a banner for her significant other expressing a short message of how she loves them. 🧡

Graham: He views it as a commercial holiday and knows that it helps boost market sales. He’s okay with not celebrating it. However, if his significant other does like and want to celebrate the holiday, he’ll do something for them.

He might send his significant other an animated e-card expressing his care. He nervously awaits their reaction and also has flowers with a corny joke on the tag.💚

Cody: He’s not really into dating at his age, but might get something nice and/or cheesy for his dad. A lot of kids view Valentine’s Day as a coupley holiday, but Charlie has instilled in his children that they can show they care for other people in their life on this day too.

I have a game in development (Crazy stuff) (Also I don't have food)

So, after a long hiatus of almost 2 years (Love of Fighting was published in April 2022), I'm with a pretty much done game. It's gonna be a OSR-ish game with inspirations from Chainsaw Man and Dorohedoro, and game design inspired by Tunnel Goons, PbtA, Blades in the Dark, TechNoir and various blogposts I've read between 2022 and like last wek. I'm calling it Demon Hunter Game so far while I don't have an idea for a better name, and I want to actually make it pretty. Cover, layout and the whole shebang. So, I decided to do some crowdfunding. Right now I'm running a sale of all my previous games, where you can buy them all for 12$, and see the middle of the ground devwork of someone who maybe has good ideas but doesn't playtest them! (Also I ran out of food like 1 week and a half before I get paid, so this is a bit of a help me please sale, I enjoy having sustenance and eating)

“I wanted to let you know I will be gone awhile,” D’alia says quietly, low enough for only him to hear, with her hand still on the unopened door. “I’m not yet sure when I’ll return.”

“Oh?”

Sidurgu shifts in her peripheral, curiosity laced with trepidation leaking from his voice in one simple word, but he doesn’t ask the burning question that she knows must be on the tip of his tongue. She risks a glance at him, tilting her head up to see him better in the dim lighting of the small room. His gaze remains sharp and unreadable with limbal rings aglow, half-hidden behind the silvery hair flopped over his forehead, all but pinning her in place as he observes her in turn.

D’alia isn’t quite sure what brings it to mind right then, but she finds herself struck by the fleeting thought that he must have watched Fray walk out that door, too, only to never return, leaving Sidurgu alone with their pact to protect that small child from the Temple Knights hunting her. Now here she is in Fray’s place, having made the same oath to keep Rielle safe so that he isn’t alone though her duty summons her away from the city. Guilt claws up her chest until it lodges itself in her throat.

A twitch of a smile tugs at his lips. “I can’t shut the window from here.”

“I— That wasn’t entirely what I meant.”

Sidurgu stares at her for several painfully long seconds with a pinched brow, long enough that warmth spreads up her neck and settles in her cheeks. Realization crosses his face only moments later, and though he glances away from her with a quiet oh slipping past his lips, his motion resumes to settle instead with his back to the headboard, and holds out his arm in silent invitation.

The blankets pool around her waist as D’alia sits up enough to move, gooseflesh rippling over her exposed limbs, but she sinks into the warmth of his side. Impulsively, she presses her lips to the pale, scarred skin of his broad shoulder. And again, as she shifts sluggish and slow, to a patch of dark scales above his heart. But then he leans down to meet her, winding his hand into her rosy hair as she braces a hand on his chest for purchase, and kisses her lazily but long, absorbed in the throes of the early morning.

A low laugh bubbled out of him as Ethan nudged him, taking the spare glass as he shifted closer to his side, enough to touch, the warmth of him seeping through that singular point of contact. Lon’s breath hitched in his throat, hiding it behind his glass while he took a sip. Heyhey, thank you very much for the asks! They've been quiet fun to think about the answers since I haven't read the books since the GoT finale debacle.

❤ Which character do you think is the most egregiously mischaracterized by the fandom? The entire GoT-adaptation was a shitshow, so.... Ooof, good question. Weirdly enough a lot of mischaracterized women get mischaracterized due to their relationships towards Jon Snow. Which is weird, because homeboy is actually much more interested in his (interrupted career) of becoming an intergration officer as side of his facility management job. First, Catelyn, due to not being a member of the Jon Snow fanclub. Then our two victims of the "who gets together with Jon "facility management is my dream!" Snow" war: Not even a fan of hers, but Dany had it pretty rough! The show didn't do her any favours either, but the ship wars using any ammunition against her just to justify what a mean, terrible, utterly despicable person she is, so utterly undeserving of... Jon Snow... of all people. Then Sansa... the things that get projected onto her turned me really kind towards x-reader-fanfics - because at least they're honest about the readers themselves having a wishfullfilment fantasy, instead of using a proxy character and mischaracterizing them, and misconstruing other female characters to have their project surface avatar get together with... a dude. (And at least x-reader-fanfics can be filtered out, they don't discourse about the ideal ship for the dude character.) On the reddit side of things an 11-year-old, sheltered girl who was praised for her obedience is getting blamed for a political coup. On the tumblr side of thins you have absolute red head bombshell who will be the Queen in the North who will on a badass Kill Bill spree against all who wronged her, and end up with Jon "accounting turnips is my passion" Snow, and not her previous Beauty and the Beast themed uggos. The Stansa version of her is stripped so bare of her compassion, her emotional and diplomatic intelligence, resilience, and her Beauty and the Beast theme which actually make her a compelling character. Sorry, but wanting for her to become a ruthless queen who gets the hot guy is muchmore akin for Littlefinger's plans than Sansa wanting to build up her family and home again. (Such shallow wishfulfilment Stanversion fans are better of reading SJM.)

🧡What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with? Depends, I'm not strong in the theory/predictions side of the fandom. Mad Queen Dany ought to be my most despised though. In general, theories reinforced by the show are something I'm strongly suspicious of because D&D rather operated on shock value than logic.

💚 What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character? A lot of thoughts about Sansa are already in my rant above. And for Theon I think the fandom is for the most part pretty accurate about him being remarkable resilient (oh sure, I spent a year getting horrifically tortured physically and metally but still my tortuer's lips "look like two worms fucking), tragic, and brave but also deeply insecure, over his head, vain, and overcompensative. He's way less cool than he thinks he is, and we love him for that.

I don't know what is currently on about Young Griff, and yeah he's probably doomed to die early but there're some remarks Aeron used about Euron that make suspect that Euron is meant to be the mummer's dragon, not Young Griff.

C - so let me preface this by saying I have nothing against this? I like both characters but. I just never saw the appeal of sastiel from spn (Sam/cas, and yes it hurt me, noted portmanteau hater, to use the portmanteau lmao). Their dynamic can be really fun and I enjoy a team-up between them, but my interest stops there. I actually have more fun when there’s animosity and they’re bitchy brothers-in-law. To be fair, I have read like two fics about them from authors I really liked, but even then I was like “…I don’t get it.” But HJ, you might be saying, it’s the brainrot. Destiel has destroyed you for other ships. And like. Nah I’m still here for Dean and Crowley. Dean and Benny. I’ll even get on board for some weird toxic Cas/Meg. Peace and love to any sastiel moots if y’all are out there, I just don’t ship them personally and I don’t think I ever will. Don’t hate the ship, just don’t really engage with it.

U - I am banning any spn characters from this answer lmao. But just know !!! They’re always lurking. I have so many faves.

Evan Buckley - (I had to include him !!!) So this can come as a surprise to absolutely no one I’m sure. 9-1-1 was sold to me with Buck because I was told he was specifically the type of character I would love AND DAMN IF THAT WASN’T THE TRUTH. He loves so much and so hard, and all he wants is to be loved in return. I relate a lot to his need to build a support system/family around him however he can, and to cling so so tight to those he loves. To give all of himself he can when someone needs him. I think his research spirals are great and I love any time we get a fun fact out of him. He’s competent and a great firefighter, but he still can bumble through social situations. He’s my guy !!!

Chidi Anagonye - So I picked Chidi because The Good Place is still one of my favorite shows of all time. And I truly love everyone, but I relate to Chidi on a deep, deep level. Anxiety bros !!! He’s so smart and yet that does almost nothing for him when it comes to decision making. In fact, it seems to actively hinder him because knowing more about things means he can imagine more hypotheticals, more things that could go wrong! He’s committed to helping Eleanor right from the first iteration of the neighborhood, and he genuinely wants to do good. He’s funny and obviously he’s used for broad humor sometimes, but like everyone in the show that never overshadows the core of who he is. All the characters feel real and full, even as they’re extremely coded to be That Kind of Guy. I love watching Chidi and Eleanor fall in love. They feel like my old friends every time I rewatch!

Karen Page - from the Daredevil TV series. So despite my previous answers I do usually love any female characters the most, so I was already predisposed to like Karen. And then—for the brief time we got it—she had girl reporter vibes, which is one of my favorite tropes of all time? I love that she had a past and her own dark secrets, I love that even though she liked for Matt she got to have real fallout and her own complicated emotions finding out he was Daredevil (and all that happened with Elektra). I like “regular” people to counterbalance superheroes, and I really loved the Karen-Matt-Foggy dynamic. Then, of course, I went absolutely all in feral in DD s2 when the Punisher showed up, but outside of her dynamic with Frank (which goddddd I love) I really like Karen and always wanted more for her from the show.

I explained the age changing beef so poorly earlier, please forgive me. I'm glad that they aged people up so things were less creepy if not by much. I literally could not imagine Dany being 14, massive ick 😬

I'm also glad that they gave characters more appropriate ages in HOTD too (not all unfortunately but some). It's more that I didn't like the new age gaps between Rhaenyra and her half siblings and Alicent, and people with their spouses. It came off as kinda weird and threw off the dynamics between people as a result. Book Alicent is like 10 years older than Rhaenyra and quite step motherly VS Show Alicent 1~ year younger than Rhaenyra and them being best friends. Book Alicent is 19 marrying a 29 y/o VS Show Alicent is 14 marrying a 40-49 y/o. There was also a 10 year gap between Rhaenyra and Aegon which was changed to like 16~ years so all 4 half siblings are underage unlike in the book where just the youngest boy was underage (16). They also aged Laena down 8~ years. Book Laena is 22 marrying a 33 y/o VS Show Laena is 15/16 marrying a 35 y/o. Double massive ick 😬🤢

I think since they were changing ages around they should've kept those of more appropriate age in the book the same age and bumped up the ages of those that were underage. It doesn't make sense to me to only age up certain characters to be at least 17/18+ while aging others down to be under that, it's like a double standard(?)
