i love f1 i grew up with that dumb silly sport if i didn't limit myself on how many fics im writing i would've been thrown into one by now so im trying to be normal and finish what i have. i always get into rarepairs and write for them but im contributing to the problem too by not posting and staring at my google docs hoping it just finishes itself. whats worse is that carmrich is such a good ship there is so much packed into both their characters that goes together and fits into so many aus i hate their repressed traumatised asses so much (affectionate)

the only knowledge i had about f1 prior to this was basically just being aware of its existence and originally i just thought it’d be hot if carmy were a racecar driver but in his same sad obliviously sexy tormented way plus the basis of his character translates very well into f1verse (growing up with racing instead of cooking and developing his passion for it through mikey, losing mikey to a racing accident and therefore dedicating himself to going pro in mikey’s honor, his one track minded ambition, his passion, his drive, his competitiveness, starting out super young and very quickly being able to accelerate to the top etc etc; these things all make way more sense for him as a racer than as a chef tbh because i’m still trying to figure out when he had time to complete culinary school and establish himself in fine dining before being named food&wine’s best new chef at 21) but then as i started learning more and more about the sport all the pieces just continued to fall into place. in my au sydney is also a racer and her and carmy definitely have a vicious unspoken rivalry going on like everything about their canon relationship meshes so well with the au it’s a little nutty (also richie is carmy’s race engineer LMFAO.) i think my original vision for the au was generally pretty lighthearted but as i started actually writing it it started becoming weirdly angsty? it’s always complicated putting carmrich in aus because the foundation of their dynamic carries over and they’re just two dysfunctional painful men no matter how you look at them. i’ve imagined them in way too many aus to count (f1, pacrim, thg, stargate atlantis, avatar but like the blue people, old western but think more like brokeback mountain vibes rather than your average spaghetti western, etc etc you get the idea) and a lot of them are a little outlandish and suuuper detached from canon but that’s what fanfiction is for that’s what makes it fun!!! especially for a fandom like the bear where most if not all the fic content is still kept pretty close within the limits of the canon universe and doesn’t really stray too far from the canon setting + a ship like carmrich which is already rare and has very little fan content to its name i think we def need more silly little aus that explore their dynamic in new ways apart from canon while keeping the basis of their characters the same. their dynamic is sooo good and layered and deliciously complex whether you interpret them as romantic or not they always deserve to be explored more methinks

it’s also always interesting hearing about what other people’s writing processes are like because for me i can’t ever limit myself to only working on a handful of fics at once because all my ideas/aus come to me in maladaptive daydreams where i literally write out paragraphs word for word in my head so i HAVE to put them down or else i’ll lose them forever. i think people who commit themselves to just one fic/a certain number of fics at a time are super impressive but unfortunately i will always be cursed to cycling between 50 different google docs and creating new ones on a whim each time anything remotely new pops into my head. props to you

The Pale King:

Sexuality Headcanon: Pan, anybody can get it. There isn't a seperate section for it but he's polyamorous as well.

Gender Headcanon: Demiboy, same as Grimm, only he has even less of a grasp on what being male is supposed to mean.

OTP: Pale Nightmare of course, which actually started out as a notp funnily enough, but then I accidentally read a fic for it and ended up falling in love with this ship. They have a fun and intetesting dynamic with each other, and it can make sense in the canon story(explaining why it does will probably need an entire post all on it's own because I have a lot to say). Secondary ships include Wyrmroot and Palewatcher.

BroTP: Monomon, the two of them are sleep deprived science dorks and will fuel each other's dumb ideas. He has a similar thing with Hegemol only to a lesser degree.

NOTP: Aside from the obvious ones, the Radiance. Enemies to lovers shit can work, but it's difficult to pull off even with characters who have a potentially interesting dynamic with each other, these two don't have that going for them. When one of the Radiance's main motivations is her hatred and thirst for revenge focused primarily at PK, I can't see her changing her ways and I especially can't see her falling for him. The closest I can see these two is very begrudging allies and even that might be a stretch.

Random Headcanon: He can play the Piano really fucking well, or at least he used to be able to, he slowly lost his skill as the void ate away at his hands.

General Opinion: Every insult I could possibly throw at him, but with "(affectionate)" right after it. He is a dumbass, he did a lot of horrible shit, but I can appreciate his sorry ass more than I like to admit.

Song: I physically cannot pick just one song for him, because my taste in music is just his whole aesthetic. I'll get the main ones out of the way first, "Touch Tone Telephone" by Lemon Demon, "Little Dark Age" by MGMT are both songs that I feel are generally associated with him anyway(I know TTT is, not as sure about LDA). And for a couple others I have "Choice" by Jack Stauber and "Toes" by Glass Animals.

The White Lady:

Sexuality Headcanon: She's a Bisexual that leans towards Lesbian, and like her husband, she is also polyamorous.

Gender Headcanon: I want to say Demigirl, but I feel like that's mostly my own confusion regarding gender projecting itself(agender here), so instead I'm going to say Androgynous(aka the midpoint between male and female). Pronouns and presentation do not equal gender, she comes across as very feminine but I feel like nature gods should be representitive of all nature has to offer, including through their gender.

OTP: Wyrmroot is canon and absolutely adorable. I love that the two of them are so devoted to each other yet that doesn't bind them to monogamy, they allow and even encourage each other to find potential partners outside of their marriage. WL/Dryya is also kinda cute but I don't feel super passionately anout it as some others do. I also kinda want to mention WL/Unn as a potential pair, I haven't seen much if any content for them and I feel like it coukd make sense.

BroTP: Grimm as I've said before, and oddly enough I imagine she'd be good friends with Herrah. I have read fanfic interactions between the two and that's probably where that's coming from, I don't really know how to explain why I think they'd get along, they just would.

NOTP: Barring the obvious once again, I'm going to have to say Grimm. I don't know, the two would be good friends, but it wouldn't go any further than that I feel, not just because I headcanon Grimm to be gay. Both of them pair extremely well with PK, just not with each other in my opinion.

Random Headcanon: This only applies to my Gijinka AU because hair obviously isn't a factor in canon, but she loves to braid PKs hair(which he keeps long to accommodate, and because he thinks long hair makes him look more regal), delicately weaving flowers into it and everything. It doubles as a sneaky way to get him to take care of himself better because he'd make a genuine effort to keep his hair as healthy as he can so she can easily work with it.

General Opinion: Big wife, plant mom, very pretty woman, I love her.

Song: Almost everything by Amarante gives me the whimsical nature-loving vibes that I associate with her, but "Mountains" and "The Other Side" if I had to limit myself.

I also don't see them as an angsty couple ? I mean, that moment of them in her room in DH was her way to say "I'm waiting for you, when this is all over". The only way I see them not getting together is by both of them "wanting to give space and time to the other", but i don't see Ginny assuming things abt him, she would've straight up talked with him, asked about their status. And Harry, obviously relieved that she still wanted him, would gladly rekindle their romance. I love them too much

I love them so, so much! If this were strictly canon, I believe they would fall back together rather than fall apart after the war (which they do). 

My little snippet was my answer to being specifically asked to imagine a situation where Ginny says she needs time and his friendship before anything else, and what Harry’s response would be. Would he wait? Would he date other people? My response was that Harry would absolutely wait for her, even if it broke his heart. 

As to whether Harry and Ginny are an angsty couple or not, I think they are each other’s sunlit days, each other’s blissful oblivion, the only real thing in the world, better than firewhiskey, silver lining, the last thing they see before dying. I think they’re soft, gentle, and loving. It makes my heart want to burst.

But as a writer, and particularly AU writer, I err towards imagining angst, though I do try not to write angst for the sake of angst. I imagine different situations or the characters making different choices. I like to think anything is possible, but it has to make sense in the constraints of the world. What are the things that could have happened to Ginny that led her to need more time? PTSD comes to mind.

All relationships have angst because life has challenges. Love is something you have to build and rebuild every day, especially when life throws you endless curveballs. Loving, happy relationships can and do experience angst all the time. Harry and Ginny, to me, lend themselves really well to pining (especially because of Harry’s obliviousness), and other challenges like Ginny’s struggles with independence, Harry’s past with the Dursleys, his obsessing, his overprotectiveness, Ginny’s learning to share all the parts of herself after the diary, things that they can overcome but would be a journey.

Harry and Ginny are perfect for one other; they are my OTP to end all OTPs – but I don’t necessarily think that they never have any problems (especially since trouble always finds Harry). I read and write angst as a healthy outlet, but there are plenty of amazing fluffy Harry/Ginny to read if that isn’t what you’re interested in! I can certainly recommend some great writers if you like.

A/N: I was going through my WIPs and this was one I had been doing for a zine that I dropped out of. It was almost finished so I thought why not finish it. It fits the prompt for day 1 of our beloved otp month. Also there was supposed to be more but this is just wholesome in its mood and idk what followed would have been way too dramatic so I just put that plot bunny in the garbage. Who knows, I may revisit in another prompt. But for now, here, have this soldier!au drabble. It’s kinda meh but w/e. I just wanted to get the WIP out lol.

It had been five hours since a messenger soldier had arrived at their location to report the sight of Akatsuki heading towards the village they were stationed at, and Sakura was beginning to doubt the validity of the information. She and Sasuke had been immediately sent on lookout duty at the borders of the town, the latter carrying a sniper in case of trouble, while she settled for bringing two handguns and a radio.

To Shikamaru’s calculations, the Akatsuki troop should have been there three hours ago. Sakura wished she had thought of bringing provisions; her mouth had long grown dry by now, and her stomach had hollowed out as well, gurgling with painful growls and beseeching for any type of sustenance.

Running the back over her hand over her sweat-slicked forehead, Sakura exhaled a heavy sigh and tipped her head back against the much cooler wall, tired gaze set on the build of her dark haired teammate. Occupied with the meticulous cleaning of his gun, Sasuke took a few moments to notice her staring, black eyes sliding to her in question. A lopsided smile tugged at her mouth just for that.

“I’m hungry, Sasuke-kun,” she said simply, the slightest hint of complaint in her tone. “Do you have anything edible by any chance? Like an apple? Some salted peanuts? I’d take anything at this point, seriously. My stomach feels like it’s eating itself.”

Sasuke cocked his head a little, eyes full of mirth as he watched her for a moment. But then he nodded, reaching for a pouch inside his military vest. Sakura practically jumped forward in excitement.

“It’s probably not in good shape,” he said, as he pulled out a protein bar and bent towards her to hand her the snack. Too eager, Sakura snatched it out of his grasp, eyes so wild with hunger that she just barely missed the way his lips twitched in return. “…But then again, it looks like you don’t care about that.”

Fiddling with the wrapping with so-hungry-she-was-clumsy fingers, Sakura giggled and stuck her tongue out at him, giddy from his light teasing.

“Honestly, it could be ten years old right now and I still wouldn’t care,” she said, taking a ravenous bite from the nut-filled bar and finding herself utterly unable to hold back her satisfied moan.

Quickly, she devoured the rest, paying no mind to how Sasuke cleared his throat, focused solely instead on relishing every little bite she could get. She turned to look at him with the most brilliant smile when she was done, eyes gleaming even brighter when she found him there, still cleaning his gun with one hand while the other was outstretched towards her with a half-filled bottle of water.

“You’re my absolute favorite person in the world, did you know that?” Sakura said, grinning as she took the offered drink, taking a few deep swigs. She wasn’t sated in the least, but at least both her hunger and thirst had been quenched a bit now, and that was all she could ask for.

Sasuke’s lips twitched again. He merely nodded in return. “Don’t mention it.”

Letting her head fall back against the wall once more, Sakura let out a long, deep sigh, content. She closed her eyes.

“…I can’t wait to go back home,” she murmured after a moment, grin fading into a small, pleased smile. From the way she was sitting, she could feel some of the sun’s almost-too-hot beams blaring on her skin from one of the two windows in the room. For a moment, she imagined she was back home, and not in a poor village of a mindlessly hot desert halfway across the world, hanging out on her parent’s back porch on a hot summer day.

Sasuke would probably like it too since it wasn’t too sweet, she mused, smiling wider as she cracked one eye open to glimpse at him. She sighed contently again and slipped it back shut.

“I haven’t seen mom and dad in so long,” she went on. “It’s been two years—can you believe that? Mom even says she’s got all my presents stacked in the closet so that I can open them when I get home.”

“You still get presents?” Sasuke asked, sounding completely astonished. Or well, as much as Sasuke could sound astonished, anyway.

Blinking her eyes open once more, Sakura met his gaze, straightened up and grinned. “Yup. Probably always will for as long as I live,” she said, brushing away a sweaty lock of her unbelievably bright hair.

Sasuke’s eyes softened, so much it warmed her heart and left it feeling like goo. She felt her stomach flutter as the look he gave her, so full of awe and pride… and dare she say, even a little envy.

She understood exactly why that was when he murmured, “You have good parents.”

Her smile lessened, giving way to something sadder, more bittersweet. It always hurt to think about how Sasuke no longer had an immediate family; when he was only eight, both his parents died in a car crash, and just a few years ago, his brother had gone MIA in the war. The latter is what had made him decide to enlist, full of hopes that he might one day find his brother.

But every year, those hopes were steadily declining, from what Sakura could sadly discern.

Swallowing the tightness in her throat, she flashed him a sweet smile. “Yeah, they are, aren’t they?” she said. “I’m so glad they decided to support me in the end when I wanted to enlist with you and Naruto. I know it’s hard on them, especially in times like these—and dad wanted so much for me to get a medical degree and work in a hospital, so I know it was especially hard on him. It would have been nice, but I don’t know… my place is with you guys. And I’m glad they came to understand that.” She paused, for a beat. A grin split her lips. “But they are counting on you two to look out for me. Because if anything happens to me, mom says she’ll do you two twice as bad.”

A faint smile pulled at Sasuke’s lips, finally, and he shook his head, undeniably amused. Sakura giggled, heart flipping and pounding away, all too delighted with herself. Making Sasuke smile was always an achievement in her book, especially since his smiles were so far and few these days.

She tucked her hair back again, clasping her hands in her lap a little shyly as they stared at each other. Sakura cleared her throat subtly, but still kept smiling. “They asked about you, you know?” she said.

Brows rising slightly, Sasuke blinked once, twice. “…Really,” he replied, sounding a little dubious.

But that didn’t surprise her; in all these years they’d known each other, Sasuke’s interactions with her parents had always been quite limited—especially since none of their hangouts had ever taken place at Sakura’s home. The most her parents had seen of Sasuke had been when he would pick her up beforehand or drop her home afterwards. The last time they had seen each other was two years ago at the airport, right before they were going back to the military base to be deployed, and they had hardly exchanged words.

It was only natural that Sasuke would assume they simply didn’t know each other enough for them to genuinely care about him.

Her smile shifted to something gentler. Silly man.

“Yeah. They did,” she said. “They said they worry about you, sometimes. Said you looked… lonely.”

(“he’s got practically no meat on his bones since he left—honestly, sakura, are you sure he’s even eating? poor boy looks like a lost, famished puppy. do i need to send him one of my care packages?”)

Lip curling at the corner at the memory, she set her attention on Sasuke again, heart buzzing with warmth at the sight of him, jaw slackened and eyes just barely widened. He was clearly stunned.

Eyes crinkling too happily, Sakura grinned at him and shifted to firmly nudge his thigh with her boot. “I told them you’re not, obviously,” she declared, winking teasingly. “Not with us around.”

Sasuke’s lips quirked, gaze melting again; looking so fond, so tender—so impossibly at peace. Gods, how she loved him so.

“Hm. How could I be?” he replied, eyes gleaming, teasing. “Naruto’s a loud idiot, Kakashi won’t stop lecturing me about the road of life, and you never leave my side.”

Her green eyes widened. That little—

Bursting into laughter, Sakura shook her head, throwing the not quite finished water bottle at his head. Sasuke caught it, but she kept laughing, wrapping her arms around herself as she shook and grinned and giggled.

Sasuke was smiling again when she stopped a short minute later, and Sakura heart flopped for the umpteenth time that day. She smiled back, feeling so full. Complete.

She made a silly face. “Oh, you’d be dead without me and you know it, Sasuke-kun,” she teased. And that was true.

Gaze flashing with some playfulness, Sasuke huffed, “So would you.” That was true, too.

Maybe when they would both go back home, she could finally tell him how she felt.

I’ve read so much Kane/Abby (The 100) lately, that I was tempted to name from there, but I kept it purely from asoiaf and it was not easy to choose only three - this fandom has so many AMAZING writers, and you’re definitely one of them, dear - your stories always fill my heart with joy (or my eyes with tears)… :D

3. name three favorite writers

First place is @dknc3 (ao3) and there’s no question, I think if you ask me to just name favorite writers of all time I would include her. The way she creates world where you’re able to competely immerse yourself in, the way she’s able to develop the future of canon inLove and Honor in a way that’s completely believable, leaving us enough details about the world for a world picture, while still focusing mainly on Ned and Catelyn, and creating an OC character that is as important and loved as Dak!! And also the way she’s able to bring these characters into a modern world, again in a believable way, where they still feel very much like the canon self, but with the differences necessary to this world, including the exploration of characters like Brandon, Lyanna or Robert!! Also the way she handles tough issues in her fics, the difficult relationship between Jon and Catelyn, sickness, death and grief, the way a parent reacts to their son coming out (I just reread the Jojen/Bran one like two days ago), affairs and so many other things. Her writing just brings something else to stories and it’s always such a joy to read. And then to make everything better, Darla is always so sweet and kind, and she always shares so many funny and great stories about her family - really, you’re an AMAZING person and I’m so glad I’ve met you through the fandom

The Queen of asoiaf fanfic herself, @draganchitsa (ao3 - crossingwinter), really you can have any ship in the world, you check Celia’s writing and you’ll find something you will like, there’s something for everyone. And I couldn’t be happier that she writes two of my OTPs as often as she does, Ned and Catelyn, and Arya and Gendry!! But she writes so much more that that, there’s this beautiful Grey Worm and Missandei modern AU - a ship I never thought I would read and haven’t since then and hadn’t before, but in that fic was so perfectly done - the way she has written Jeyne Heddle as someone who matters to Gendry and that always warms my heart, and then all the other ships that I read as drabbles, the Lyanna and Elia ones (the ship with the best ship name :) ), the Targaryen drabbles that are probably written for @myrishswamp, all the possible Sansa ships (and there are a lot :) ), and again I repeat most of all the imaginable ships (including Myrcella and Aegon :) ) And the super cool projects you created, especially the drabbleverse, which was super original and I bet a lot of work :) And you post so constantly and always with 100% quality - really you’re a joy and really AMAZING, and thank you so much for being part of this fandom!!! :D

And to finish this list, @lizstargaryen (ao3 - DrHolland), who has one of my favorite Gendry/Arya fics of all time, it’s actually my third favorite, so I’ll explain why Liz is still the one to make this list!! So first thing she has two other amazing fics!! But the things here is the main fic, Arya of the Thousand Days, which has three things I really don’t like in fics, that normally throw me off, but no, her writing, the way she writes these characters completely sell me on these ideas, they make me say yes and that I want them to happen, and make this my favorite canon fic of all time, from anything I’ve read the one I would want to be real!! So the fact that she sells me on Aegon being bad (while I love him and he’s my King until the end of days), on Daenerys and Jon (and here crossingwinter does the same, they are some of the few authors where them being tagged doesn’t put me off - in Liz’s case, i’m even reading and enjoying the companion fic with them as the main ship) and Gendry getting Storm’s End - things that are so far off from my headcanon, really speak to her writing; the beautiful style she uses, always creating a compelling backstory and background to this world - with actually giving Gendry and Arya time to know the Stormlands, those are some of the most beautiful pieces, making Shireen, Hot Pie and the Seaworths real people; and the way she truly understands who Arya and Gendry are and the way they love each other and they do what’s right, by their people, how Arya is about helping her family and pack. This fic is truly special and Liz’s writing is something else, something that always feel so real and possible

These are the three, but like I said I’m lucky to have read multiple amazing fics, and I would probably be able to name 30 more names of people that bring me joy and hapinness every day!! All across fandoms and ships!! :D

Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, Sam/Rahne, Ariel and Eric (first when I was 5, even though I wanted to be Ariel), Rachel Tobias (first when I was actually gettin into fandom), Jake/Cassie (Animorphs), Clark/Lana, Clark/Lois (I think??) and Chloe/Ollie, Romy (even in Evo at a point!), and now Eliza and Goliath in Gargoyles. I keep saying I’m not a shipper, but I think I’m just a subtle one that pines and doesn’t read a lot of fanfic, but my heart swells over seeing my OTP on screen

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?

TV Shows and Western (superhero) Animation mostly, but also a few animes.

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

I was annoyed by the Agents Of Shield fandoms behavior for a while, but I’ve never stopped liking any fandoms because of Tumblr. 

J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

Tie between Sailor Moon and Gambit I guess, but I’m sure there are lots of others. Sailor Jupiter has a good arc as well, even though she doesn’t have a lot of character development TBH.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

Roberto Dacosta’s super strength power is pretty cool and he’s a chill guy. And rich. (I just realized that a lot of X-Men characters are rich, actually. Gambit, Xavier, Warren and him. Holy crap.)

M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.

Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Moon. TAS Rogue too, because she seems fun to hang with, and who wouldn’t like to be called “Sugah” all the time?

MORE GAMBIT (and comic Nightcrawler) IMAGINES!! And just more love and less fan wars across all fandoms, really.

For any fandom? A mad scientist and a famous baker get together after the scientist contacts aliens, resulting in a warring invasion on earth.

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.

To be perfectly honest, The Smurfs because we’re a Christain household and we found it had stuff in it we didn’t agree with. I was three.  Other than that, I’ve only given up one other fandom permenantly that wasn’t what I thought it was and chosen at a bad time. 

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

Kurt and Kitty in Evo, and Logan and Kurt is cool, but I don’t actually pay much attention to it.

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

Hmmm. One that isn’t too boring? Remy isn’t (wasn’t? He is married now) particular about a woman’s height and is comfortable enough with himself to date a woman much taller or shorter than he is. (Remember, Frenzy was freaking 6′7 before she got rebooted to a normal height and it was implied they had history.) For a while it was a wish of mine they’d pair him with a short gal, because all X-women are physically clones of each other, minus Rahne, Kitty and Jubilee. Blargh. Oooh, just had an idea for a new art project to make the girls look individual! ^_^

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?

Besides the above? Uh...headcannon that Remy smells good and his hair is silky to the touch and yes I’m a sick, weird little person, I know. Haha, not really. I’m not much of a headcannon person. 

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

* Gambit: Hot, suave, lit, accent, good cook, romantic, my fictional ideal man (told you, I’m sick and weird). * Sailor Jupiter: Sweet, loyal, living on her own at bloody 14 years old, strong physically and emotionally, had trouble believing/finding her feminity like me, tall (not like me!), brunette character, thunder powers. * Tuvok (Star Trek): My second crush ever, calm, reflective, hot grandpa, sarcasm galore, strong, suffers emotionally and physically, POC and like the only black vulcan that I know of, cute little boy chest, that butt (XD), frakin’ hot.

V - Which character do you relate to most?

Surprisingly, one I haven’t talked about yet and that I’m not really fandom-y about. Rapunzel from Tangled. When I saw the movie, I was attached to her immediately. I’d grown up homeschooled and at that point I’d been caregiving for one of my parents for six years at that point, unable to move out and get married and have much of a life, so I was always metaphorically in a tower too. I have childish interests, am artistic and creative, have done LOTS of self-insert art like her, and am a generally happy person (even if I don’t always show it and don’t smile enough). So, out of every character in my many fandoms, I relate to Rapunzel the most. Also, I have only 2 things of Tangled merch-the movie, the soundtrack, and a gorgeous bedspread that’s actually based on the show, but doesn’t look like it. (I don’t like it’s animation/character designs, so it’s been hard to get into it.)

W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.

OMG, do we have to go here? Anything over-sexualized or kinky or just plain gross/weird. (v***, gore, ect.) There’s this one X-Men:Evo artist on DA that would be brilliant, but I can’t stomach their gallery because they feel the need to do a few  v*** and bondage pics amongst otherwise G-rated pictures. *throws up* IT’S A SHOW FOR 7-YEAR OLDS!! 

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.

Huge guy, Tiny girl! (but it looks...weird...in live action. *Good Luck Charlie flashbacks*.) Also age differences. Some people are put off by Usagi and Mamo’s age difference in Classic, but I think it’s cute and they were really chaste about it. Specifically, I liked the part where he told her to do well in school for some reason. 

Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)? Holy crap, Pride and Prejudice and Anne of Green Gables. No one on my dash is into them though, it’s a real life thing. Long story.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

I have written more self-inserts than is probably healthy, but at least I’ve mostly gotten past my teenage phase of thinking anime guys are hot and it’s extended to Gambit as well. I’d much rather see him be portrayed by a living, breathing actor semi-bringing my fantasies to life than as a drawn character. Well, not that I’m not happy seeing him animated and his voice in Evo is still super hot, but that’s another thing. Anyway, on that note, I wish XM:E weren’t a dead fandom and I could get more reviews instead of just faves/follows. I get so frustrated, because I’m not writing my fics for myself, I’m writing them to finish the story and for the fans. I know OCs/SI aren’t everyones bread and butter, but when you work hard on something, you want people to enjoy and appreciate it on it’s own merits. My regulars dropped off the planet and the fandom is just not that active online. (It’s still kind of active though, otherwise the Gambit and other prints on Steven Gordon’s online store wouldn’t have sold out so fast.) I wish it had been as creative as the MLP fandom, but even that wouldn’t have saved it. Thankfully, there are a few people “keeping the faith”, like Coldfusion180 and some others. They haven’t abandoned it and people have made AMVs for it in recent years, long after the shows cancellation. I know we’ve all moved on in one way or another, but it’s still nice to see the love for the show and it’s characters going strong, even if we’re now a niche fandom, tiny, but there. And even if I don’t get another single review up until the last in the series, at least I can say I finished it, if nothing else. Even if your fandom is dead, keep supporting it. If we don’t keep the characters alive, they die and are forgotten. They need us.
