lucanis is a 'I could sit in our quiet kitchen on a grey tuesday afternoon drinking coffee and talking with you about nothing much in particular forever and be the happiest man who ever lived' romantic, not a 'classic tropes and grand gestures' romantic. this is a distinction and conceptual gap I personally feel is crucial to understanding what's going on with him when romanced. for all his almost painful sincerity and clear depth of feeling he's not a very effusive guy by nature, but in the history of time no one has ever, with their whole soul, chest and being, been so genuinely and openly happy to just do laundry and taxes with you.

Look, I know she's evil and pulling the strings and there really WASN'T a choice, it's just the illusion...

...but DANG, the fact that she looks down and sees that Kenji caught up with Brooklynn, and doesn't freak out but just sits down and watches as all her friends run up...

...it's sick.

Again, it's manipulative, she has the Death Remote and an Atrociraptor, and Brooklynn knows she has both of those things...but there's also a question of whether or not Soyona would have Actually Used Them.

She already teased Brooklynn with her chance to leave before, back when she left the car. She baited Brooklynn to come after her. And it's more than possible that her motion for the remote was self-defense: if the Nublar 5 had chosen to storm the plane and/or wrestle Brooklynn away by force, she would have obviously used Red to protect herself.

But would she have killed them if Brooklynn had chosen to go with them?

There's no cut back to Soyona when Brooklynn looks back. No glare. No sign of her raising the bracelet and pulling out the remote.

It's not impossible that she would have let Brooklynn go if she'd chosen not to follow. She destroyed the lab and cleaned up her trail, she has business to take care of, the kids would have plenty of issues that would be fun to discuss, and she didn't really give Brooklynn too valuable of information, and had more than enough leverage to keep herself safe...so why not let it play out? Why not gamble a little? Have some fun?

And she wins.

She gives Brooklynn a choice, and Brooklynn chooses her. And it's really sinister if Soyona was going to let her go.

i just wanted to thank each and every one of you reading this for being here.

i'm a bit sentimental right now so this might not make much sense, but i am genuinely so touched by what we have on here - isn't it crazy how we all have our own lives and problems but this is where we touch? and i don't even mean people posting and commenting or whatever, but also all those silent ones; even if we don't interact, this is where our lives intersect for a second, you scroll by this post and we will probably never cross paths again.

i will probably never meet any of you, and yet we all have childhood best friends and a favourite colour and songs we cried to and like- WHAT. i get to share a space with thousands of people all trying their best in life? how lucky are we to be part of humanity and have little glimpses into the reality of others?

i'm sitting in my room typing this, windows half open and music on, and you could be reading it in school, on a bus, on a club toilet, at work, in bed- whoever and wherever you are, i'm so thankful to have been part of your life for how long it took you to read this.

Sebastian is a very attractive man—and a very successful toy store owner too; just like Ciel’s childhood dream, isn’t that such a coincidence? He’s very kind to Ciel—probably out of gratefulness for helping him—and Ciel quickly finds himself falling in love and sharing a special connection with the man, it’s just a shame that Sebastian seems to keep getting possessed by demons way too often than people normally do, doesn’t he? It’s like he just gets repossessed by demons as an excuse to keep seeing the little priest.

On this fine day I'm thinking about Jamie and Keeley wanting to go shopping together and Roy joins even though they say he doesn't have to. He insists, because he wants to be a Good Boyfriend, and also who are we kidding he's clingy he's not gonna miss out on time with his partners. So he carries their shopping bags as they go from store to store, and the most he'll pipe in is with a "that looks nice" when asked.

But then. They come across a leather jacket store.

Roy dumps all the bags onto Jamie. They spend at least two hours of Roy trying on new jackets (Keeley and Jamie love it btw. They're very involved, offering opinions, "I like this shade of black better", "this jacket's cut compliments your frame nicely").

Roy leaves the store with exactly one (1) new jacket, very pleased with his decision. Keeley and Jamie are absolutely grinning over the whole thing.
