Who do you think fell in love first, Sheldon or Amy? Follow-up, who do you think has the bigger crush on the other?

In Amy's vows, she states that she felt a connection in the coffee shop & that grew stronger. However, Sheldon's persistence on "She’s not my girlfriend", instead of letting it roll off, is a clear sign of a crush. Plus, he (I think?) asked her to be official couple first. He also proposed, went back to her after the break-up era, and engaged the coitus routine.

Of course, Amy had accepted all of that and then some. She still had feelings for him during the break-up. She also expressed her overall feelings earlier than Sheldon did, asking to move in with her and even kissing him first, etc.

So, what's my dearest friend's opinion?

This is a tough call.

It's true that Amy says in her vows she felt a connection to Sheldon from the first moment they met, but I think Sheldon felt it too and he felt it stronger. He went into that coffee shop fully believing that Howard and Raj were wrong and the entire meeting would be a failure, and yet he was the one who offered to buy Amy a beverage after exchanging a few words with her. He was expecting to meet a woman on the prowl, he never considered his match might also be in a similar situation as him, wary of relationships but nonetheless coerced into the date. When Amy stepped up to him with her multiple layers and direct speech, he was instantly smitten, he just didn't realize it.

Based off what we know of Amy's past and how often she faced rejection from her peers, I believe Sheldon was probably the one to suggest they should exchange contact information and he was probably the one initiating most of their conversations to start out. The four months they spent maintaining daily electronic communications likely helped Amy out a lot in feeling safe in her friendship with him and getting her to a point where she knows he accepts her and that she can trust him. But I think she was still cautious.

It's pretty clear in the beginning that Sheldon was more interested in Amy than she was with him. In addition to the above, he was also the one who invited her on that first date (the one Penny chaperoned) and he also started inviting her out to dinner with the guys, or over to the apartment for games. He invited her to that Brian Greene lecture and to see Indiana Jones with him (though she ditched him on that one). When they "broke up" he was the one going crazy and buying a bunch of cats, while she seemed to mostly take it in stride. When Amy expressed a sexual attraction to Zack, he was obviously jealous about it.

So I would say Sheldon had the bigger crush on her, but these feelings were so completely unexpected for him and he was so deep in denial about it, even after they became boyfriend and girlfriend he had trouble coming to terms with it.

And with Amy, I think her feelings were slower to build, but because she was better in tune with them and more accepting of them, she fell in love first. Or, at the very least, she recognized her feelings as love first. I think she started to realize it could be love as early as season 6 but probably didn't fully admit it to herself until season 7, whereas Sheldon I don't think considered that it could be love until the end of season 7. That's when he acknowledges that Amy loves him (though she hasn't said it yet), and I think a large portion of his train trip was spent mulling that over.

But again, because Sheldon was so resistant to all of this, I think you could also argue that he was in love first but refused to see it. Or maybe that it's all about equal, just expressed differently.

In her deepest moments of loss, Shirayuki would withdraw from the world around her. 

As if the shock had raised raw nerves to the surface of her skin, she shrank from contact, recoiled from discovery.

She hid her wound inside herself, where nothing could expose it, and no one could touch it.

When possible, she hid it even from herself.

Between her grief and those who would intrude on it, she interposed a veneer of composure. Under this facade, she continued to perform her daily roles with the promptitude of a marionette.

Shirayuki was no actress. Her ingrained forthrightness prevented her from delivering a convincing performance.

The best she could manage was a semblance of her usual activity.

She drifted from place to place, haunting the castle like a ghost of her former self, sketching the motions of a princess-to-have-been, a bereaved fiancée, even a royal pharmacist, but her timing was off.

She spoke at the wrong moment; she answered questions that no one had asked; she delivered her charge to the wrong recipient. She unmade whatever she had finished minutes before in an unconscious, anxious movement of her hands, left to their own disposal.

Sometimes she trailed off, looking away as if listening to something else.

Her eyes traced the path that led away from Wistal Castle, followed the road the royal knights had ridden east, lingering on the horizon in unanswered expectation.

Although she knew better, it was impossible to shake the conviction that she would see him again.

Their last good-bye--a public ceremony before the castle gates, enacted before hundreds of watching eyes--was no better than a pause, a question mark in the middle of a paragraph.

Whenever she had needed him, Zen had found his way to her. From the depths of a hidden manor to the endless expanse of an ocean, he searched her out like a beacon.

There was no wall high enough, no cavern deep enough, to keep him from her side.

Any moment now, her heart persisted in imagining, she might hear his voice again, see his smile, feel his hand in hers.

She knew better, but the deception lingered.

It trebled her desire for concealment. A hope spun of wishes and self-imposed forgetfulness could not bear the rough handling of another’s scrutiny.

Shirayuki veiled her longings and her agonies in assumed fortitude, swaddled all of it in feigned equanimity. Brittle as an eggshell, the false poise clothed her, made her fit for company.

When the fragile illusion threatened to crack, she fled.

That day, with servants thronging the hallways, torches amassed in preparation for the mourners’ march, a walkway of white sand strewn to guide their steps, and wreaths of heartsease ladening the air with their perfume--Shirayuki felt herself unequal to bearing the weight of the public eye.

She flinched from the presence of another human being; her feet turned aside from each chance encounter.

She made her escape without forethought, starting from corner to corner like the quarry in a hunt, retreating deeper into the maze of Wistal’s walls until she found herself alone.

The battlements rose to the height of the heavens on either side of her, uninterrupted even by windows. She had traded blank faces for staring stone blocks, but it was enough.

It would require an eagle eye to spy her out there.

With the bonds of society relaxed, her hurt welled up and overflowed. It burst from the hidden place where she had suppressed it.

It brought her to her knees.

There Obi found her, tossed in the storm of a loss she could not bring herself to name, where she least expected another soul to venture.

There he forgot himself in loving her.

There he left her.

At first, Shirayuki had felt Obi’s absence as she felt everything good in her life slipping away.

The changes began with the war: research suspended, austerity measures introduced, the brisk predictability of castle life devoured by the hectic pace of impending crisis...and then Zen’s proposal.

Shirayuki set her face to the new path with the same spirit she had always confronted destiny. Determined to do her best, grudging no sacrifice, privately cherishing hopes for the future, she had accepted the offer of Zen’s hand and promised to never look back.

Then the war had ended.

Her love, her work, her friends--they had fallen from her like broken rock, shearing off the cliff and crashing into the sea. She stood alone on a precipice now, swaying before the brink.

No door was closed to a member of the royal family, even a premature one, but neither was there a place for her in the greenhouses anymore. Her desk was cleared, her uniform packed away; they would conduct trials for a new apprentice soon.

The book of her life as a pharmacist had closed; she might take it down from its shelf and look over the pages she had labored to record, but she would never add another entry.

Nor would she continue training to assume the fullness of her role as Second Princess of Clarines. The office no longer existed.

She was caught in suspended animation, like a creature on the verge of flight, frozen in amber.

In her bewildered displacement, there were no familiar faces to offer her a kind look or a friendly word.

Kiki and Mitsuhide had ridden away with the royal cavalry, and they had returned as strangers.

They wore different uniforms: black, like the servants’ new livery and the drapes that covered the windows.

The warmth had left their eyes.

They never smiled.

And Obi? The once callous enemy who had become her shadow, then her guard, and at last her friend?

Obi had gone away for days at a time before, engaged on tasks of some vague and undefined nature, some understanding between him and Zen that Shirayuki had never felt the need to inquire into.

She worked around his absence, as one would make adjustments on a still day for the lack of a breeze.

Her responsibilities in the pharmacy might take longer, her hours might be quieter, but she didn’t mind it, because she knew he would be back.

The gaps in Obi’s attendance made up a layer in the pattern of her days, predictable in their unpredictability.

If she wondered what could be keeping him, now that the voice directing his movements had fallen silent, she refused to articulate this question, even to herself.

It tread too near the door in her mind that she was holding closed with all her strength--it was better to think nothing of the incongruity, so that there was no need to remind herself of the circumstances that made it so.

It never occurred to her that those same circumstances might have effected a permanent change in Obi’s position with respect to herself--that even this, his presence in her life, might fall away.

She couldn’t allow the possibility that Obi might not come back.

When he appeared to her again at last, she caught hold of him as a drowning sailor would seize a rope in a storm.

He was the last element of her life before the war, the last familiar landmark that hadn’t changed.

When he vanished, she was adrift again.

“Xavier, when I say your name on my roster, I couldn’t help but feel proud. It’s so nice to see you.” Dr. McCarthy offered a seat and Xavier took it with a smile. 

“Ah, thank you, Doc. I’m sorry it couldn’t be sooner. I had every intention but since the last time we spoke, things have been busy. Not so much for me but on the island and I’ve been wrapped up in it. I saw you at the wedding. Wasn’t that lovely?” 

“Indeed. I understand. I know things have been going quickly what with new cast mates and the wedding. Which, yes was very lovely and tasteful. I enjoyed it greatly and the two grooms looked incredibly happy. And how have you been? What do you have for me today?” 

Xavier took a deep breath. “Well, in all honesty, since our last session, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the things I admitted to you and the advise you offered. I had spoken to Khamani a bit and he offered a lot of insight as well. The whole talk about growing up poor and not having anything and blaming my parents for not understanding what that was like…well, it felt awful.” 

“To be fair to yourself, you didn’t exactly blame them, Xavier. You simply stated how you couldn’t possibly blame them but it hurt you that you didn’t know how to express those feelings. I never thought once that you blamed your adoptive parents for being well off and wanting to give you and Clayton the world. If anything, I’ve noticed you tend to see the best in them and in everyone around you. Some people deserve it more than others but I wouldn’t say you’re placing the blame on your hurt on them.” 

“Ah.” He smiled and looked down at his hands. “I suppose, I can rephrase that then.” 

“Please do and be kinder to yourself.” 

“I cannot and do not blame my parents for the hurt I feel but it’s something I do want to work through because it will define my future relationships.” Xavier looked up at Arlo and the doctor smiled. 

“Better. How do you feel it will impact your relationships?” 

He sighed. “I don’t know. Maybe its silly but, I’m with Raj now. We’re together. We’ve been really quiet about it because it’s so new. He’s very private and well, I am too in a way. I’m not a huge PDA fan and I really love how things are going. He’s more than just my boyfriend. He’s like my best friend. I’m of course hoping I don’t mess things up so—” 

“Ah ah Xavier…what did I say?” Dr. McCarthy offered a kind smile. “Be kind.” 

“Sorry, doc I just really want this to work. I’ve never quite felt this way about anyone. It’s very new. Just makes me feel like a teenager all over again in a weird way. Anyway, without getting too far from the topic. He grew up like me so I think that’s a big part of our connection. When we first really began to talk we talked about growing up poor and how I was used to bouncing from one home to another. It was like trauma bonding…” 

“And as unhealthy at that can be at times, it does make some healthy relationships so I’m glad for you both that it’s working out.” 

“Yeh. I’m just…I don’t want to overwhelm him and I feel like I have to step back sometimes because maybe I do? Now that I have the money and ability, I find myself wanting to give the people I love everything within my ability. I know I can’t do that on the island now but in Raj’s case, I just don’t want him to see it as me flaunting what I have. I swear that’s not it.” 

“Well, I know that. I’m sure Raj does too. But when you have the time maybe feel him out, talk about boundaries. See what’s comfortable for you both. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to give to someone but all within appropriate limits. Like I said before, it seems like you two have something very healthy right now so this wouldn’t be such a bad conversation to have sometime in the near future. I don’t think anyone thinks you go around flaunting anything. I do think that’s your insecurities playing tricks on you and also, your need to please everyone. But also, try your very best to stop over thinking it and just enjoy each other. That’s the most important aspect of a relationship. You need to know that you do not need to overcompensate for the things that happened to you as a child. While it’s wonderful that you’re able to do for Clayton and his family and your family and your loved ones, they’ll love you just the same if you cannot. Especially being so self-aware and especially when you’re obviously not trying to sabotage anyone. I must remind you again how you are not your biological family. Give yourself some grace and allow yourself to love freely.”

Five years, none of them could believe it had been that long since they’d all been together in one place, since they’d all left the island...well almost all of them. 

Everyone had mourned the loss of their friend, the person who brought them all together and of course the one who saved them all. Despite mourning her, they still moved forward with their lives, graduated college, got jobs, reconnected. Grace and Aleister got married, Sean and Michelle decided to give it another chance. Even Estela worked to move on, accepting that she could have a life without vengeance. That wasn’t the be all and end all of her existence. 

Then there was Jake. He’d lost Mike, he’d lost his wife all in the course of 24 hours. Lundgren was dead, eliminating all his hopes of clearing his name; of going back to the states to see his family again. He stayed in Costa Rica after flying the newfound group of friends off La Huerta. The first few months he would drink himself into a stupor every night, replaying her voicemail until he fell asleep, desperate to hear her voice again. 

They had all come to visit him at one point or another, worried about him and how he was coping. Especially Diego, he’d lost Varyyn, he understood Jake’s grief. No one would ever fill that hole in his heart and he didn’t want anyone too. Diego didn’t push, he felt the same way about Varyyn, connected forever. 

The five year reunion was upon them now though, Jake leaned against Deliah trying to play it cool, but he was nervous to return to the island, unsure of what to expect. He’d thought so often about going back there himself, about trying to find any trace of her but he’d never been able to bring himself to do it. 

“How does he get to look the same after all these years baking in the sun when he doesn’t even use moisturizer!” Jake cracked a smile, he’d recognize that voice anywhere. 

“I think it’s the rum Maybelline, you should try it.” Michelle rolled her eyes. 

“Good to see you Jake.” 

“Cap.” Sean came up and dropped Michelle’s bags before clapping Jake on the back. 

“Caught your last game. Talk about a hail mary, guess that’s why they pay you the big bucks though.” 

“Chyeah! Only because I made it possible for him.” “Drax.” Sean and Craig had gone pro and been drafted together, the dynamic duo of the NFL. 

“Don’t you nerds have anything to talk about besides football?” 

“Skrillex. Hack any foreign governments recently?”  Zahra smirked. 

“Whenever you want that record cleared, you better have my money.” Jake smiled, Zahra had offered to hack the government and clear his record so he could return home to his family. He felt like he would only be a burden though, were Taylor still with him, things may have been different.

“Malfoy, brain trust! Heard y’all got married. Congratulations!” Grace beamed at Jake and pulled him into a tight hug. 

“Thank you Jake!” Grace swiftly hit Aleister on the arm. 

“Yes, thank you Jacob.” 

“Let’s see, still missing Petey, Ariel, Julio Child and Katniss.”

 “I’m right here.” Jake jumped and turned to see Estela staring at him, Diego walking up behind her. 

“Dammit! You don’t need to sneak up on me like that.” Diego chuckled as Estela smirked and climbed onto the plane. 

“What are you laughing at Petey?” Diego innocently held up his hands and boarded the plane.

 He heard the laughter of the last two before he saw them, Raj was licking something off his fingertips, no doubt something that had come from the container Quinn was carrying. 

“Jake, dude, you have to try one of these cupcakes.” Raj happily rubbed his belly. 

“I’m sure they’re great Ariel, but I don’t want to get frosting all over the cockpit. Save one for me once we land?”

 “Of course!” Quinn also wrapped him in a big hug and kissed his cheek before boarding the plane. 

“All right. Well we’ve got the whole Brady Bunch now….so let’s do this.” 

The plane was eerily silent as they flew over the water, their minds inevitably drifting back to the first plane ride they’d taken together. Diego made his way up to the cockpit and took a seat, Jake was rigid at the controls, a death grip on yoke. 

“Jake...how are you?” Jake didn’t take his eyes off the horizon, his body trembling softly with adrenaline. 

“I’m fine Petey. It’s an island. Been here probably a hundred times.” 

“Jake, you know what I mean.” He hated being vulnerable, sharing his feelings, anyone he opened up to he inevitably lost. Diego was the closest connection he had to Taylor these days, he was the sole reason Taylor had even existed. 

Talk to him Jake. He could hear her voice in his mind, encouraging him to keep making those connections.

“I miss her Diego. So damn much. I thought I could do this with you all but I’m not sure.” It was the first time Jake had ever called Diego by name. 

“I miss her too. I think this will be good for us Jake, maybe we can leave the ghosts behind.” 

“I don’t want to forget, I never want to forget.” 

“You never could, I’m just saying...maybe it’s time to leave behind the guilt that keeps haunting us.” He had a point, Jake felt guilty still, like he hadn’t done everything he could’ve to make her stay. Deep down he knew that was wrong though, he knew it was her decision and she was a selfless person. She chose the world over herself, so that he could have a life to go back to, maybe it was time to stop feeling guilty about living that life. 

“Thanks Petey. Now get back to your seat so I can land.” Diego smiled softly and returned to his seat as Jake made a smooth landing on La Huerta.

 Since Rourke’s arrest, Aleister had taken over the Celestial resort. When the world had returned to normal, so had all the guests and the island had continued to operate as if nothing happened. For this weekend though, Aleister closed the entire resort to outside guests and staff. It would be the eleven of them alone. 

They all collected their room keys, staying in the same rooms they’d had before, except for Jake. He stared for ages at the honeymoon suite key, it was the room where they’d spent their first night together, something he would never forget. He wasn’t sure he could face it again though. Taking a deep breath, he steeled his nerves and swiped the key, riding the elevator up to the room, it seemed to move at an agonizingly slow pace.

He entered the room and sucked in a breath, flooded with memories of that night. 

Hey you. 

Hey. 

Jake wandered over to the large pane windows overlooking the island. He remembered every moment of that night, this is where they’d kissed each other, he’d pushed her back up against the glass, desperate to feel her body pressed against his for the first time, what he wouldn’t give to feel that just one more time. 

“I’ve never wanted anything as badly as I want you.” He whispered in longing. 

Then have me. She had said that back to him their first night together and that was the beginning of the end for him. He was hooked. They’d thrashed that room and didn’t give a damn, it was strange to see it put back together. He opened the window to get some fresh air but he could swear he smelled her perfume drifting to his nose over the ocean breeze.

 He slammed the window shut and laid down on the bed still in his clothes, staring at the canopy. The bed felt cold and foreign to him, he tried turning on his sides but he couldn’t fall asleep, every time he closed his eyes he would see her beside him in bed only to reach over and find it empty. He slipped out of the room and went down to the beach, snagging a hotel towel on his way out. Maybe a night out under the stars with the ocean waves could help him clear his mind.

Vaanu had been made whole again and should have felt at peace, but there always seemed to be something keeping it from its eternal rest. Just a sliver that felt like it was missing, the feeling only grew the closer the 5 year anniversary of becoming whole came. 

Why do I feel as though I am still broken? Vaanu bellowed in despair. Desperately searching for the beacon from its missing shard, it followed it to a well known place, La Huerta. Vaanu summoned the physical manifestation of Taylor that had been created by one of the shards, it could sense that she was the part of itself that was still missing a piece.

 “Where am I?” 

Why am I still broken? Memories came flooding back to Taylor like a tsunami, saying goodbye to Jake and the others, then it was all black until waking up here. She could hear its voice in her mind and feel exactly what it was talking about, she felt a sense of emptiness. It took her only a moment to realize why. 

“Jake.” That feeling of emptiness only grew, she longed to see him again, to hear his voice. She could feel the ghost of his touch on her skin, lighting it on fire with pleasure, a feeling only he could give her. Something she couldn’t live without. 

Jake?

“Jake and I fell in love over 1,000 times in different timelines. I promised him a year and a day, a part of my soul will forever be with him.” Taylor wondered how long it had been, wondered if he moved on, if she still felt this broken though she knew he hadn’t and that somehow hurt her more.

 Broken. 

“Let me be with Jake. If we’re together then the shard is together, you’ll be whole again.” She didn’t know how, but she could tell Vaanu was thinking. “Please, you know you won’t feel whole until he dies and that will be years. Years you could have spent being whole again if you just let me go to him.” She pleaded, desperate. 

There was a bright flash and when Taylor opened her eyes she was on the familiar beach of La Huerta, there was a towel on the beach, void of an occupant. She needed to get her bearings, find a way to get in touch with Jake. She was back!

Jake had been unsuccessful trying to sleep on the beach as well, he’d turned to his last resort, alcohol. He’d found some rum but what he really wanted was the good stuff, some strong whiskey that would knock him right out. 

Someone poked him in the shoulder and he turned to see who it was, it was Taylor, smiling at him in her blue tank top and khaki pants. He must’ve been hallucinating another memory again. 

“Help ya with something Princess?” He turned away, his focus back on liquor, he didn’t notice her frown. She thought he’d be more excited to see her, like she was him. Maybe she’d been mistaken, maybe he had moved on. 

“Just seeing what you’re up to.” She said deflated. 

“Trying to see if we got any good whiskey left so I can stop reliving all these damn memories. Like this one of you asking me to come to your room. You?” 

“Jake...this isn’t a memory.” 

“Must be dreamin’ then. Guess I did find the good whiskey.” 

“Jake look at me! I’m actually here!”

“You say that in all my dreams and then I wake up Princess.” He whispered heavily, sounding emotionally tired, it would go away if he’d just listen to her! She hit him in the arm and scowled at him until he looked at her. 

“Ow!” 

“Jake, please. It’s really me.” He shook his head, she could see the pain in his eyes. 

“No. You went with Vaanu and that was it. My wife is dead!” He was fighting back tears. 

“Jake, what do I have to do to prove to you I’m real, that I’m here?” He turned and grabbed both sides of her face, their lips meeting in a fiery kiss with years of longing poured into it. Taylor melted against Jake and he pulled away, breathing heavily his eyes still closed. 

“If I open my eyes, are you still gonna be here Taylor?” 

“Yes, Jake. Now please, open your eyes and look at me.” She whispered, cupping his cheek. Her touch felt so real, Jake didn’t want to risk it. He wanted to stay in this moment for just a little longer.

“I can’t Princess. I can’t.” Stubborn ass, she thought to herself. 

“Come with me.” She had one last idea up her sleeve to convince him, dragging him to the elevator, she kept their hands laced together as she pulled him to their room. 

“I’ve got to give myself credit, this is my most elaborate hallucination yet.” 

“Jacob Lucas McKenzie. I am right here, right now, with you. Your wife. Your naked wife. So help me god if you don’t open your eyes to look at me I will go back to Vaanu.” Taylor had in fact stripped down to her red lacy bra and underwear set, she knew it was Jake’s favorite and if this didn’t convince him, nothing would. “Dammit Princess.” Jake opened his eyes and stared. There she was. Still there. In front of him. He couldn’t believe his eyes. He rubbed them and blinked a few times but she was always still there. He was overcome with emotion. He didn’t know if he should cry, kiss her or give into the desire coursing through him. 

“I have never wanted anything as badly as I want you right now.” 

“Then have me.” 

They came together and years of pent up energy came pouring out. Sure they’d wrecked the room the first time, but this was 5 years of pent up sexual energy between newly-wed soulmates, it was a whole new level of destruction before they finally made it to the bed. 

As they laid there after, Jake couldn’t stop staring at her, tracing every line of her body. 

“I missed you so much Taylor.” He whispered. 

“How long was I gone Jake?” 

“5 years.” Her heart sank, imagining him alone for 5 years, they could’ve had kids by now. 

“I’m sorry Jake, I’m so sorry. I'm never going to leave you again.” He pulled her close and pressed his forehead to hers, their noses gently brushing. 

“I wouldn’t survive it if you did Princess. I don’t understand though, how are you back? I would’ve sold my soul if it meant getting you back but I didn’t think it was possible..” 

“It’s because of you Jake.” His eyes shot open in confusion. “When we got handfasted, after spending all those timelines together and falling in love every time, a part of me is literally in your heart Jake.” 

“I don’t follow.” 

“Vaanu wanted me to return so it could be whole, but we’re soulmates Jake. A little shard broke off and resides in you. When we’re together, we’re whole, because we’re whole, so is Vaanu.” 

“So you really are back for good? You’re staying forever?” 

“Forever top gun.” Tears of joy began to stream down Jake’s face and Taylor wiped them away as Jake wiped hers. 

“Good, because it’s going to take a long time to catch up on those five years of married life we missed.” Taylor let out a soft laugh. 

“I guess it’s a good thing we don’t have to leave this bed until morning. Now, tell me everything.” Jake laid on his back and Taylor rested her head on his chest, looking up at him as he told her about everything she’d missed.

“I remember you... you’re one of the players in the football team called ‘Condors’, right?”

The hope in his eyes falls down.

“Y-yeah, that’s me. This is Quinn and this is Estela.”

“What was that all about?” Whispered Craig. “It’s like she barely knew anything!”

“Maybe she can’t remember us?”

“It doesn’t make sense, though.”

“Maybe because she’s not actually human?” Grace said.

“How does that answer this?” Jake gestures at Octavia.

“Will you be quiet, you buffoons?” Aleister whispered. “You’ll blow our cover!”

“You think we should show ourselves?” Diego asked the others.

“No. Seeing them is overwhelming enough for her. We should just sit back.”

Michelle suggested. The group noticed Quinn looking away, struggling to suppress the urge to reach out to her. To feel her. To kiss her. To be with the love of her life that she thought was missing forever.

“Listen... I need help.” The desperation in her voice catches everyone’s attention.

“Octavia…” Quinn whispered with concern.

“I can’t tell you here. Maybe we could meet?”

Sean and Estela’s eyes land on Quinn, who shakes herself off and offers the sweetest smile to Octavia.

“Okay, Octavia. We’ll contact you and discuss the meeting over the phone, okay?”

“Yeah.”

Quinn gives her phone number to her.

“I better get back.”

“You sure you know where you’re going?”

Estela asked. Octavia looked around, remembering where she was.

“I... guess I got lost.” She chuckled.

“Don’t worry, I’m here with a few friends, so I’ll find them... eventually.”

“Good luck! Not that you need it.”

They say goodbye. Once Octavia is gone, the group comes out. Jake looks at Sean, confused like the others.

“What the hell were you guys doing out here, QB? Looked like you had a brawl or something.”

“Me and Sean heard something in the woods, so we followed the sound. Turns out it was Octavia, but she looked... bewildered. I was about to hug her, then she asked if she knew who I was.” Estela wears a sad expression while saying this.

“Didn’t peg you for the type to hug people.”

Her eyebrows shoot upward, cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

“What? I just…”

Annoyed, Estela drives her fist into his arm, a little too hard.

“Owwww!”

“Shut up, Cabron!”

“I... took a step toward her, but she got terrified of me for some reason. Like she felt something that wanted to come out because of me.” She sighs. “I assumed it’s our connection to Vaanu.”

“And I was reassuring Octavia that we are good people.”

“And now, we’re gonna meet. What’s the venue?”

“We... haven’t thought that far ahead, yet.” Quinn replied. “Although she did say she lives in New York. We better book a hotel room there if we want this to happen.”

“Since when did she live there in the first place?”

“Can we discuss that back in the States, pleeaasee? This is making my brain hurt.” Rubbing her temples, Michelle heads back to the forest and into the plane.

“Michelle’s right. We’ll discuss this another time.”

Everyone files out of the cliff, except Quinn. She stares at the sky for a while, fiddling with a doubloon they found, the moonlight illuminating her face, and the stars shining back at her. She sighs, head tilting slightly.

“What happened to you, Octavia?”

New York, Restaurant

Everybody’s reviewing the meeting plan.

“So, in two days, Quinn is going to explain to Octavia everything that’s happened in La Huerta, given that she doesn’t remember anything.” Diego said.

“Yes. She deserves to know. She saved all of us, after all.”

“I still don’t know why you guys decided to let them meet there and not at a club or something.”

Before Zahra can snap at Craig, Raj intervenes.

“But didn’t she want to meet? That would mean she wants to tell us something. We can’t just barge in and tell her all the things that happened when she wants to tell us something too.”

“Exactly why we agreed to let her speak first.”

“I wonder why I never heard that part.” Raj grumbled.

“Food!”

Diego says as the waiter arrives at their table to serve them their meal.

“Yees, I’m starving!”

Everybody eats.

New York, Hotel Room

Gazing out the window, Quinn watches the city, thinking of those years. The past five years. Five years being separated with her supposedly-dead wife. Five years of mourning her death. Five years of not knowing she was still alive. But now...

“Two days.” She said softly. “I’m meeting her in two days.”

Exhausted, she walks to the bed. Eyes fluttering shut, she whispers…

“... I’m coming, Octavia.”
